A
I
work
for
the
hispanic
contractor
association
of
the
carolinas.
The
acc
is
a
non-profit.
I
started
in
2006
here
in
charlotte
with
the
idea
of
helping
small
contractors
and
the
hispanic
construction
community,
because
hispanic
and
minority
contractors
you
know
they're
great
at
what
they
do,
but
they
don't
really
know
how
to
manage
a
business
and
that's
exactly
where
we
come
in.
We
held
a
small
business
to
build
capacity.
A
There
is
a
really
big
hispanic
population
and
a
small
mwbe
community.
Here
in
charlotte
we
are
the
carolinas
chapter,
so
it's
very
convenient
for
us
to
move
across
the
carolinas
north
carolina
south
carolina.
We
go
to
raleigh
very
conveniently
to
the
triad
and
to
carolina
as
executive
director
of
the
association.
I
had
a
lot
of
proud
moments.
It
is
great
to
see
the
small
business
associate,
but
also
the
proudest
moment
that
I
had
is
that
we
have
an
annual
awards.
A
A
They
were
still
generating
a
lot
of
income,
but
not
as
much
as
much
and
after
four
or
five
years,
all
the
nominees
they
were
generating
over
a
million
dollars
in
revenue
and
the
way
they
were
presenting
themselves.
It
was,
it
was
a
huge
difference.
Diversion
inclusion
is
very
important
to
me.
I'm
hispanic
and
I
was
a
woman.
I
guess
I'm
also
included
a
minority
and
there's
a
lot
of
potential
and
sometimes
the
small
business
of
the
underserved
communities.
A
They
don't
have
the
resources
that
other
communities
have
and
it's
all
about
education,
it's
not
that
the
resources
are
not
there,
but
they
don't
know
about
the
resources.
So
I
guess
connecting
a
small
business
with
opportunities
or
connecting
individuals
in
general,
our
minorities,
good
opportunities
and
letting
them
know
that
the
tools
are
there,
the
connection,
sometimes
they
think
they're
not
ready.
They
think
they
they're,
maybe
not
enough,
but
many
of
them
don't
believe
in
themselves.
So
you
know
connecting
them
with
opportunities
and
showing
them.
A
The
right
way
makes
a
huge
impact
and-
and
I
think
diversity
and
inclusion
is
important,
because
there
are
a
lot
of
minorities
here
in
charlotte
and
in
the
carolinas,
and
they
have
the
tools.
If
they
have
the
tools
they
can
grow.
