My name is daniel ayd.. I'm an airside operations supervisor.

With the city of charlotte,, with the aviation department.,.

So I'm in a training, role, training supervisors.. So we.

Train right around 600 people a year to drive on the airfield.

We're also in charge for the compliance of the airfield., so.

A

We need to make sure that the airfield is safe for the pilots or anyone to operate on., pushing wildlife away.. So I can see the.

A

Pyro., we never want to point at anyone.. It's essentially a.

A

Larger cap gun., so you shoot up in the air about 45, degrees. and.

A

Then it should scare the wildlife. we do inspections,.

A

Respond to emergencies, work with outside police, fire and.

A

Medic, anyone that we need to coordinate our response to the.

A

Emergency. we pick up fod,, which is foreign object, debris.. So as.

A

We're driving around today, anything that's on the ground. That's trash can get pulled into an engine of an aircraft.

A

We have a bunch of different lights around the airfield,. They have different meanings., so making sure it's not moving,.

A

Everything's attached firmly. nothing's broken, nothing's, covering the light. everyone that is on the airfield that can.

A

Drive on the airfield has to go through training., so part of what I do throughout my course of the normal day is to provide.

A

The training. and then we come on the airfield,, do some practice and they have two tests that we give them.. So it's like a driving test.. You have to demonstrate that you can drive,, you can talk, you're proficient, you're safe to be on the airfield..

The best thing about my job is that we get to work outside and.

No day is the same.: all of our work is within a team. we're.

Pretty close., everyone knows each other and pretty relaxed.

So there's always someone that you can turn to. If you have a.
