What's
coming
up
at
Monday's,
City
Council
meeting
Charlotte
was
officially
awarded
the
30
of
Major
League
Soccer
franchise.
If
we
can't
wait
to
see
them
play,
Charlotte
was
recently
ranked
as
a
top
city
for
recession
preparedness,
and
on
top
of
that,
we
were
also
named
one
of
the
nation's
fastest
growing
metropolitan
areas
by
Wells
Fargo
way
to
go.
A
Charlotte
Council
held
their
annual
strategy
meeting,
which
had
a
focus
on
mobility,
accessibility
and
connectivity.
They
spent
three
days
developing
strategies
on
building
connected
communities
on
Monday
council
will
learn
about
the
two-year
outlook
for
the
2040
comprehensive
plan.
Nearly
20
positions
on
boards
and
commissions
will
open
soon.
Residents
have
until
January
26
to
apply
our
city
clerk.
Stephanie
Kelly
will
provide
counsel
with
an
overview
on
boards
and
commissions.
The
mayor
will
provide
proclamations
in
honor
of
human
trafficking,
Awareness
Month
and
national
mentoring
month.
A
Council
will
vote
to
accept
a
one
hundred
and
twelve
thousand
dollar
grant
from
the
Federal
Transit
Administration
for
a
pilot
program
to
improve
the
coordination
of
transportation
services
for
the
disadvantaged.
Lastly,
council
will
vote
to
extend
the
expiration
date
of
the
Eastland
mall
pre
development
agreement
and
to
adopt
a
resolution
for
grant
from
the
governors
highway
safety
program
for
driving.

impaired
task
force
have
a
great
weekend
and
see
you
on
Monday
for
the
first
business
meeting
of
2020.
