From YouTube: CLT Development Center Unveiling - January 27, 2020
Description
This is the Unveiling Ceremony for the CLT Development Center, located at 600 East Fourth Street. Thanks for joining us!
A
A
This
is
a
very
big
deal
for
us
as
the
city,
not
only
among
the
city
departments
before
our
customers,
and
it
is
my
privilege
to
officially
present
this
new
resource
to
the
public
that
we
serve.
The
Charlotte
development
center
I
view
as
two
different
parts.
It's
a
way
of
doing
business
differently,
it's
a
way
of
working
differently,
but
secondly,
it's
a
space
and
that's.
What
we're
here
to
celebrate
today
is
a
new
space
in
which
to
foster
that
type
of
collaborative
environment.
A
It's
about
an
integrative
customer
centric
effort
to
offer
land
development
services
to
enhance
collaboration,
consistency
and
clarity.
We
spent
the
last
year
listening
to
staff
and
listening
to
our
customers
to
design
a
space
that
would
really
create
this
collaborative
environment
that
we're
trying
to
achieve
here
today,
and
we
could
not
have
made
this
a
reality
without
partnerships
internally
across
the
city
as
well
as
with
our
customers.
I
can
tell
you
our
work
teams
put
a
great
deal
of
time
and
effort
into
making
this
a
great
space
and
I
appreciate
everyone.
A
That's
been
involved
in
this
effort.
I
would
like
to
take
a
few
moments
to
recognize
a
few
individuals
that
have
really
been
critical
to
the
success
of
this
initiative.
First
I'd
like
to
thank
Shannon
Frye,
the
assistant
director
for
the
planning
department.
She
has
demonstrated
remarkable
leadership
overseeing
the
daily
work
of
the
more
than
70
individuals
that
will
be
working
here.
Thank
You
Shannon
for
everything
that
you've
done
to
make
the
managers
vision
of
a
one-stop
shop,
a
success.
A
Nancy
Tatum
and
David
Taylor
from
building
services
have
been
critical
to
the
design
and
the
construction
of
this
space,
I
like
to
think
of
Nancy
as
the
quarterback
of
the
design
and
the
construction
of
this
space
with
David
Taylor
in
the
background
behind
the
scene.
Soon
all
the
hard
work
that
no
one
ever
gets
to
see
and
coordinating
with
our
our
architects
on
Friday,
as
well
as
our
contractor
de
Browne.
So
thank
you
Nancy
and
thank
you.
David.
A
Nan
Petersen,
our
business
relationship
manager,
are
known
by
many
of
you
for
facilitating.
Creative
problem-solving
has
been
very
instrumental
in
organizing
the
logistics
of
a
series
of
workshops
that
all
the
staff
at
our
we'll
be
working
in
the
space
participated
in,
so
they
spent
at
least
six
different
workshops
to
work
together
to
identify
what
our
customer
service
expectations
are.
What
our
culture
is
going
to
be
so
that
it
is
common
across
all
six
departments
that
are
represented
here.
A
And
finally,
last
but
not
least,
I'd
like
to
thank
every
single
staff
member,
that's
working
in
this
space.
You
all
are
serving
as
role
models
about
how
to
do
things
differently
here
at
the
city,
and
you
can
recognize
those
folks.
They
all
have
their
gray,
Charlotte
Development
Center
t-shirts
on
here
today.
B
B
You
know,
I've
stood
in
this
building
many
many
times
and
I
started
my
career
across
the
street
and
came
over
here.
So
don't
ask
me
how
old
I
am
I'm
gonna
forget
about
that?
But
whenever
we
talk
about
the
people
that
work
for
the
city
and
this
great
organization,
I'm
always
really
really
impressed
I
think
that
we
have
absolutely
the
finest
most
talented
workers
in
this
city,
I'm
very
proud
to
know
most
of
you.
B
You
know
all
of
those
things
about
efficiency
and
effectiveness.
They
changed
the
wording
for
it.
You
know,
turns
into
collaboration.
It
changes
all
of
that,
but
you
have
to
have
it
the
core
of
you,
a
work
ethic
that
serves
this
community
to
be
here
so
I
want
to
say
to
each
and
every
one.
Thank
you
for
what
you're
doing
this
is
going
to
be
a
great
new
space
for
us.
It's
another
project.
B
I
know
that
many
of
you
will
have
a
role
in
making
a
difference
here.
I
know
the
plan
review
coordinators,
the
urban
forestry
specialists,
the
erosion
control
experts,
development
plan,
review
teams
and
many
more
services
will
be
open
in
this
space
at
this
time,
and
so
you
know
with
all
of
our
growth
and
what's
going
on.
This
is
the
right
time
and
the
right
thing
to
do
our
one-stop
shop
is
becoming
a
reality.
B
You
know
our
city's
growing,
some
people
might
say
a
little
bit
too
fast
and
sometimes
I
get
a
little
bit
of
nostalgia
too.
But
what
I
would
say
to
you
is
that
if
you're
not
growing,
what's
happening
to
you,
and
so
we
have
to
know
that
in
order
for
everyone
else
to
prosper
and
grow,
we
have
to
provide
that
kind
of
support.
So
I
look
at
this
space
as
a
space
that
everybody
in
this
community
is
going
to
gain
as
a
result
of
it
being
here
and
I.
B
It's
pretty
cool
I
want
you
to
know
for
the
development
community
that
this
staff
remains
committed
to
provide
all
the
help,
that's
needed
for
you
to
grow
and
develop,
because
this
is
a
CID
we're.
An
enterprise
makes
a
difference,
and
people
make
a
difference
and
I
know
that
many
of
you
have
worked
hard
over
the
last
six
months
to
be
trained
to
accomplish
this.
I
know
that
nan
has
probably
got
you
right
in
the
shape
for
collaborative
problem-solving
and
customer
service
practices
that
work
in
the
industry.
So
I
want
to
say.
Thank
you.
B
A
Thank
you
again
mayor
and
thank
you
to
everyone
that
could
be
with
us
today.
Now
we're
ready
for
some
unveiling.
We
are
going
to
unveil
the
new
sign
in
the
center
logo
that
was
designed
by
Tom
Davidson
and
his
team
and
the
rest
of
the
folks
at
corporate
communications.
So
if
I
could
have
ty
the
city
manager,
Shannon,
nan,
Nancy
David
and
as
well
as
our
City
Council
members
up
here,.
