A
My
name
is
Maurice
pretto.
My
branch
of
service
was
the
United
States
Navy
submarines,
I
served
in
the
Navy
for
approximately
12
and
a
half
years,
honorably
discharged
when
I
lived
on
the
street
in
Charlotte.
Fortunately,
for
me,
I
was
in
the
shelter
men's
shelter
on
trial.
I
didn't
have
to
be
in
a
situation
where
I
was
sleeping
on
the
streets.
I
was
able
to
secure
housing
through
the
iop
program.
It
is
a
wonderful
thing
to
have
a
place
of
my
own
I,
thoroughly
appreciated
getting
the
first
apartment
through
the
HUD
Vash
program.

A
Lot
of
entities
that
are
involved
in
this
process
and
their
goal
is
to
actually
end
homelessness
among
the
veterans
and
I
think
that
that
is
an
excellent
idea
and
an
excellent
program.
I
am
humble
and
grateful
that
the
mayor
and
all
these
entities
entities
decided
to
get
serious
about
homelessness,
particularly
in
solid
amongst
and
I
can't
say
more
than
a
thang.
