From YouTube: The Whitley's Farewell
Description
City of Chelsea, Peoples AME Church Chelsea
A
Welcome
everyone.
It
is
so
great
to
see
everybody
here
this
this
evening.
We
want
to
thank
you
all
for
coming
out
on
behalf
of
the
people's
chelsea
amy
church
and
the
federal
committee
we
say
welcome.
We
have
a
great
program
here
for
you
this
evening,
what
we're
going
to
start
off
with
and,
as
you
know,
we
are
gathered
together
to
give
a
farewell
to
our
pastors,
dr
sandra
whitley
and
pastor
kendall,
we're
here
to
give
them
our
farewells
and
our
heartfelt
since
delicious
as
they
journey
into
their
new
season
even
come
this
evening.
A
Everyone
knows
pastor
sandalwood,
but
I
want
to
say
a
little
about
reverend
kendrick.
He
is
her
partner
in
life
and
in
ministry.
He
is
trying
he
works
behind
the
scenes.
Getting
things
done
supporting
pastor,
so
she
can
do
what
she
does
as
leading
the
people
in
amy
churchill,
chelsea's,
church
and
being
able
to
serve
in
the
community.
He
is
the
calm
before
the
storm.
We
all
know
the
pastor
can
be
all
over
the
place.
So
whenever.
A
A
B
Evangelist
deborah
washington
for
those
kind
words
father
god,
we've
come
together
to
say
farewell
to
the
reverend
dr
sandra
whitley
and
kenny
whitley
for
14
years
of
service
to
the
people's
amu
church
and
also
the
community
of
chelsea
god.
We
just
ask
that
you
will
continue
to
bless
them
and
their
new
pastoral
god.
We
would
ask
that
you
would
watch
over
them
and
protect
them,
and
god
we
say
thank
you
for
the
14
years
that
they
were
in
this
community
lord.
B
D
B
So
god
we
just
say
thank
you
to
the
people
that
were
able
to
put
this
together
this
evening.
We
thank
you
for
everybody
that
came
out
to
welcome
them
and
send
them
blessings.
God
will
just
ask
you
to
continue
to
be
in
the
midst
of
us
as
we
go
through
this
program,
god
we
ask
this
in
nobody's
name,
but
your
son's
name,
jesus
amen,.
A
C
B
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
E
So
normally
reverend
whitley
and
I
would
pray
a
lot
together
during
copenhagen
and
she
would
pray
and
then
I
would
think
of
a
song
and
she
would
always
say:
oh
man,
I
want
you
to
sing
and
I
would
be
like
you
know,
I'm
good,
so
reverend
whitley
this.
E
So
this
is
my
car
gift
to
you
and
the
song
that
we're
singing
is
called
the
blessing
because
we
are
blessing
remotely
as
she
leaves,
and
so
the
words
are
taken
from
numbers,
6
24-26,
the
lord
bless
you
and
keep
you
the
lord
make
his
face,
shine
upon
you
and
be
gracious
to
you.
C
C
F
G
A
G
When
I
first
started
here
as
city
manager,
six
or
five
years
ago,
reverend
whitley
was,
I
think,
the
first
community
member
that
came
to
visit
me
to
wish
me
well-
and
I
remember
we
had
this
conversation
in
my
office
and
she
congratulated
me
and
told
me
how
much
she
wanted
to
help
me
and
she
was
going
to
help
me
succeed
and
she
left-
and
I
said,
I'm
thinking
to
myself
wow
what
a
very
kind
courteous
thing
to
do.
Thinking
I'll,
probably
barely
ever
see
her
wow
was
I
wrong.
G
I
really
can't
think
of
any
kind
of
initiative
that
I
or
the
city
started
or
engaged
it
or
tried
to
do
that.
Reverend
whitney
wasn't
a
major
major
part
and
always
with
her
husband.
In
the
background
helping
she
was
instrumental
in
starting
the
chelsea
interfaith
alliance,
and
that
was
really
extraordinary.
G
I
you
know
you
might
not
know,
but
she
got
the
faith
community
so
involved
with
the
city
and
that's
really
not
typical
in
a
city
the
size
of
chelsea.
I
can
tell
you
that
when
I
was
in
revere
the
faith
community
really
wasn't
all
that
engaged
in
this
kind
of
way
with
the
city
government.
C
H
H
H
But
very
really,
if
you
remember
a
certain
conversation,
you
remember
what
the
subject
was,
but
this
the
conversation
and
the
words
of
that
conversation
have
been
with
me
since
that
day.
So
I
want
to
thank
you
for
all
that
you've
done
for
our
community
you've
been
a
champion
in
the
city
of
chelsea
with
so
many
so
many
causes,
and
so
many
people
have
relied
on
you
and
the
impact
and
how
many
lives
you've
touched.
You
will
never
know
you
will
never
never
know
you
touch
my
life
as
well.
H
H
H
But
after
all,
this
seems
like
it's
kind
of
like
whatever
right.
It's
like
a
bologna
sandwich,
after
all,
you've
done
for
me,
but
it
is.
It
is
something
that
we
we
do
to
people
that
we
care
about,
and
people
that
that,
when
we
recognize
and
since
vietnam,
by
the
state
senate,
hillary
clinton's,
congratulations
to
reverend
sander
willie
and
ken
woodley
recognition
of
14
years
of
loyal,
dedicated
service
to
the
chelsea
community.
H
As
a
relentless
advocate
and
goodwill
ambassador
and
inspiration
to
all
of
us
and
be
further
known
that
our
senate
extends
very
best
wishes
within
success.
The
citation
be
signed
by
the
president
of
the
senate
and
attested
to
in
a
copy,
therefore
transmitted
by
the
clerk
of
the
senate
and
signed
by
our
center
president,
karen
spilker
and
myself
sally.
Thank
you
very
much.
J
Thank
you,
reverend,
for
all
that
you
do
and
we
have
a
citation
also
from
the
house,
takes
two
of
us
to
chase
our
senator
around
so
we're
here.
Thank
you,
but
again,
just
to
reiterate
what
some
of
the
dominico
had
said.
Thank
you
for
all
your
advocacy,
not
just
here
in
chelsea
but
for
the
homeless
folks
across
the
commonwealth.
Up
at
the
state
house.
I
don't
know
if
people
know
that
you
come
into
our
office
and
do
that
work
outside
of
the
church
or
as
part
of
the
church.
J
So
thank
you
for
being
a
spiritual
leader
and
a
cultural
leader
and
a
leader
here
in
chelsea
and
also
your
service
to
our
country
in
the
armed
services
too.
So
you've
done
it
all.
Thank
you
and
I
think,
with
everything
that
went
on
last
year
in
the
way
that
chelsea
was
able
to
respond
not
just
to
covert
but
to
also
the
racial
animosity
around
the
country.
J
It
was
one
of
chelsea's
proudest
moments
and
I
think
it's
because
so
many
of
the
seeds
were
planted
through
the
mountain
king
day
events
and
for
the
chelsea
black
community
and
the
messages
that
have
been
consistent
over
the
years,
not
just
last
year
when
other
people
were
reacting.
Chelsea
was
ready
to
respond
and
you
have
a
lot
to
do
with
that,
and
so
then
we'll
hear
this
room.
So
thank
you
all.
J
Reverence
dr
sandra
and
kenneth
whitley
in
recognition
of
14
years
of
dedicated
service
to
the
city
of
chelsea
warmest
of
wishes
on
your
move
to
new
bedford.
The
entire
membership
extends
its
very
best
wishes
and
expresses
the
hope
for
future
good
fortune
and
continued
success
in
all
endeavors.
Given
this
21st
day
of
june
at
the
state
house,
boston
massachusetts
signed
by
ron,
mariano
speaker
of
the
house
state
representative,
jessica,
giannino
and
myself,
daniel
j
ryan.
K
K
K
I
I
So,
on
behalf
of
council
brown,
who
had
a
previous
engagement
and
my
colleagues
on
city
council,
have
a
resolution
of
gratitude
for
reverend
dr
sandra
whitley.
I
And
whereas
pastor
sandra
whitley
preached
the
gospel
message
at
the
church
and
provided
leadership
to
the
citizens
and
the
city
of
chelsea.
In
many
ways.
And
whereas
pastor
sandra
waitley
served
communities
of
chelsea
by
being
involved
in
many
causes,
such
as
past
president
of
chelsea
rotary
club,
chairperson
of
the
annual
reverend
dr
martin
luther
king
jr
celebration
and
as
the
lead
advocate
for
the
homeless
initiative
and
whereas
pastor
sandra
whitley,
reflected
care.
L
All
right
good
evening
deborah!
Thank
you.
Thank
you
to
the
planning
committee
as
well,
and
you
did
a
fabulous
job.
L
L
Have
created,
initiated
collaborated,
partnered,
supported
and
showed
up
throughout
many
entities
within
our
community,
as
well
as
our
state.
Often
you
as
a
shepherd
showed
up
alone
at
the
table.
Yet
your
resilience,
determination
and
engagement
allowed
you
to
build
a
respectful,
strong
community
standing
so
much
so
that
along
the
way,
we
forgot
that
you,
god
shepherd,
had
a
special
calling
to
minister
and
build
up
where
your
vocation
needs
you
to
be.
L
N
L
I
A
N
N
We
are
so
happy
to
be
part
of
being
with
you
and
your
community
and
your
church,
god
blessed
us
with
a
wonderful
woman
and
a
wonderful
husband.
Your
husband
is
wonderful
too,
but
I
have
to
stand
here
as
a
school
committee
member
to
thank
you
for
all
the
wonderful
things
you
did
for
the
students
in
the
city
of
chelsea.
N
N
E
Okay,
well,
what
do
I
say
to
miss
reverend
whitley,
my
my
friend,
so
I.
A
E
Reverend
with
me
two
years
ago,
two
and
a
half
years
ago,
when
I
first
started
and
we
were
planning
the
martin
luther
king
jr
event,
and
I
knew
right
away
that
she
and
I
would
have
a
connection
and
I'm
here
to
tell
you
reverently,
even
though
you're
leaving,
I
know,
you're
just
a
phone
call
or
a
text
away,
and
that
I'm
I
am
I
I
know
that
god
is
moving
you
on.
We
will
miss
you
dearly,
but
at
the
same
time
we
also
know
that
there's
a
reason
for
everything
and
so
new.
N
E
Is
so
blessed
to
have
you
and
your
husband-
and
I
know
that
you're
going
to
make
a
big
difference
there,
so
I
believe
that
god
called
you
in
my
life
to
help
me
through
kobe,
because
reverend
whitley
would
get
me
up
very
early,
doing
quarantine
on
tuesdays
and
thursdays
to
pray
and
my
alarm
clock
would
go
off
and
I'm
like,
I
have
to
cooperate
with
regularly
anyone
that
knows
me
knows
that
I
am
not
an
early
bird,
I'm
like
don't
talk
to
me
until
about
nine,
but
I
get
up
to
pray
with
rebel
whitley
as
she
wakes
me
up,
but
we
were
praying
during
covet
and
I
know
that
your
alarm
clock
is
still
set
for
those
times.
E
So
when
the
alarm
clock
goes
off
robin
whitley,
please
pray
for
chelsea
public
schools
and
pray
for
our
city,
because
we
still
need
your
prayers
and
so
another
thing
I
want
to
thank
you
for
being
such
a
role
model
you
connected
with
my
elizabeth.
E
E
You
were
in
your
normal
clothes
and
she
said
to
me
mom
that
lady's,
the
pastor
was
like
yeah,
that's
random,
whitley
and
she's,
like
a
woman
pastor-
and
I
was
like
yeah-
that's
reverend
whitley
and
she's
like
mom,
that's
so
cool,
and
so
my
daughter
just
connected
with
you.
So
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
for
being
the
role
model
that
you
are.
We
won't
miss
you,
but
I
also
know
that
you're
just
a
call
our
text
away.
E
O
O
But
seriously,
you
know
you
exemplified
our
motto
at
rotary
service
above
self,
you
got
me
more
involved
in
the
city
with
your
with
the
homeless
count
every
year
and
through
our
rotary
projects,
our
pantry
of
necessities
at
the
high
school
and
so
on,
and
I
want
to
thank
you
for
that.
O
Sometimes
you
know
not
everybody
likes
what
you
do
all
the
time,
and
so
I
I
hear
about
it
a
lot
and
I
think
you
helped
me
out
during
some
tough
times
and
people
were
really
giving
me
a
hard
time
and
prayed
with
me
got
to
see
me
for
a
person
instead
of
just
you
know,
somebody
that's
in
public
life,
and
I
appreciate
that.
Thank
you.
O
In
rotary,
we
have
a
thing
called
the
four-way
test
and
I
can
tell
you
I
saw
it
personally
where
she
really
puts
it
into
action.
The
four-way
test
is,
first,
is
it
the
truth
of
the
things
we
think
say
or
do
right?
Is
it
the
truth?
O
She
put
that
into
action
right
because
sometimes
things
aren't
always
fair
to
everybody,
but
she
really
wants
to
make
things
beneficial
for
all
concerned
and
that
building
a
community.
That's
what
it's
all
about.
Thank
you
so
much
reverend.
Thank
you
for
what
you
brought
to
rotary,
and
you
know
we
have
virtual
meetings
or
a
virtual
aspect
to
our
meeting,
so
you
can
still
attend.
Thank
you
so
much
for
what
you've
done.
P
That
we
needed
a
statement
and
we
needed
a
group
to
put
out
the
statement
and
the
group,
the
interfaith
alliance
had
already
been
started.
We
were
meeting
mostly
monthly
and
then
we
began
to
work
on
a
statement
which
the
city
signed
and
we
presented
and
that
sort
of
leapfrogged
into
the
interfaith
prayer.
P
C
P
What
people
have
said,
I
would
mirror
that
we
have
kind
of
prepared
ourselves
for
the
pandemic
when
every
day
reverend
sandra
organized
us
to
be
part
of
a
four
o'clock
prayer
time.
Well,
let's
start
sorry,
maybe
it
was
actually
a
four
o'clock
coordinating
meeting,
but
there
was
a
prayer
or
a
reflection
at
the
end,
and
you
will
hardly
see
a
city
where
that
has
ever
been
done
when
I
share
that
with
clergy
from
outside.
P
P
P
It's
not
easy
to
sit
down.
We
were
five
different
colors
of
people
and
three
or
more
languages
and
three
different
faiths
represented,
and
I
think
actually
the
working
out
of
that
document
was
was
the
glory
point
and
then,
of
course,
it's
springboard
into
the
city
and
to
the
event
I
will
miss.
I
will
miss
your
great
spirit,
your
courage,
your
singing
your
willingness
to
go
the
extra
mile.
P
I
will
miss
your
joshua-like
planning,
we
don't
know
quite
what
will?
How
will
fill
that
gap?
But
we
do
love
you
and
I
brought
caleb
elise
up
here
of
the
revival:
worship,
worship,
family
center
and
there
are
others
that
could
not
make
it
tonight.
But
on
behalf
of
all
of
them
we
love
you
and
I
do
want
to
part
with
a
blessing.
F
P
A
M
So
I
I
didn't
know
I
was
going
to
speak,
so
I
guess
I
have
to
speak
from
the
heart.
So
I'll
wait
until
brother
takes
referral.
M
M
M
So
it's
been
really
interesting
to
hear
everyone
else's
accounts
of
their
initial
meetings
or
longevity
of
meetings
that
that
they've
had
with
rev
and
willie,
and
I
I
certainly
have
had
my
share
of
those
but
they've.
A
M
Conversations
that
I've
had
in
my
life-
so
you
know
reverend
reverend
and
I
are
going
to
stay
together
for
a
long
time
because
of
a
story
that
I've
shared
with
her.
That
is,
I
think,
it's
gonna
be
it's
a
mission
of
revelation
to
you
know,
make
some
changes
in
my
life.
M
Do
believe
in
god
I
have
a
lot
of
faith,
but
I
think
the
reverend
has
a
plan
for
me.
Maybe
one
day
it's
going
to
happen
and
then
judith
and
I
can
rather
insist
that
said.
M
You're
really
close
bro.
My
name
is
dan
cortez,
I'm
the
community
engagement
specialist
for
the
chelsea
police
department.
Part
of
what
I
do
is
in
the
title.
My
job
is
to
engage
in
the
community
and
I've.
M
I've
had
some
really
wonderful
relationships
that
I've
built
over
time,
but
one
of
the
most
special
ones
has
been
running
with,
because
not
only
do
I
are
there
meetings
that
I
attended
with
reverend
willie
or
she's,
a
member
of
the
hub,
that
we
plan
things
or
strategize
things
or
figure
out
how
we're
going
to
help
people
or
any
of
that.
It's
that
she-
and
we
all
know
this.
M
She
puts
a
special
touch
into
every
conversation
that
we
have
and
it
reminds
us
why
we're
doing
the
work
that
we
do,
because
I
think
social
workers
and
police
officers
and
people
that
respond
to
crises
and
situations
like
that
often
forget
why
they're
doing
those
things
it's
I'm
here,
because
I
was
told
to
hear
about
my
boss
or
or
that's
my
job
title
or
whatever
else.
M
You
really
do
a
wonderful
job
of
reminding
us.
Why
we're
literally
doing
god's
work-
and
I
thank
you
for
that-
I'm
sure
that
the
chief
is
going
to
have
what
it
would
have
had
his
you
know
the
first
time
he
met
russian
whitney
just
like
all
of
us,
but
I
think
the
common
thread
or
the
common
theme.
There
is
how
important
those
conversations
have
been
right
and
if
they're,
everlasting,
right
and
and
she's
already
she's
already
been
planning
about
new
bedford.
M
Q
M
On
behalf
of
you
know,
the
chief
guys
and
everyone
else,
captain
theo
badger,
because
he
oversees
the
for
community
services
for
us
and
the
men
and
women
of
the
chelsea
police
department.
I
sincerely
deeply
share
our
gratitude
with
your
thanks
and
our
good
wishes
for
your
future
success.
A
R
R
Pastor
whitley
has
been
there
along
with
reverend
ken
in
our
spiritual
journey
as
she
likes
to
call
it
before
we
got
across
the
the
threshold.
R
She
has
been
a
constant
force
in
my
life
as
a
african-american
man
in
a
very
difficult
environment
to
navigate
she's
counseled
me
personally,
on
career
decisions,
and
particularly
she's
reminded
me
to
always
put
god
first
in
all
that
I
do
and
many
people
don't
know
that
in
the
judiciary,
reverend
whitley
is
highly
respected,
so
much
so
that
she
organized
an
event
with
our
lane.
Chief
justice,
ralph
getz
and
not
in
my
opinion,
was
the
first
time
that
he
witnessed
what
really
goes
on
in
chelsea
took
a
lot
of
coordination
behind
the
scenes
to
do
that.
S
I
S
I
can
say
that
as
an
individual
of
color,
it
was
really
difficult
growing
up,
not
seeing
individuals
that
were
really
working
hard
towards
opening
the
access
to
opportunities,
particularly
within
higher
education,
for
the
youth
in
our
community.
And
that
is
something
that,
when
I
met
you-
and
we
talked
that
first
time,
you
emphasized
how
important
the
martin
luther
king
event
was
for
you,
and
not
only
for
you,
but
because
of
the
impact
that
it
had
in
the
community
and.
S
On
that
community
committee
and
doing
that,
work
with
you
and
everyone
else
along
the
years
has
really
demonstrated
to
me
that
there
is
so
much
power
when
we
come
together
and
that
there's
so
much
to
be
grateful
for,
but
most
importantly,
that
there's
so
much
that
together
we
can.
We
can
achieve
and.
I
C
S
C
S
F
Q
D
T
C
C
C
D
T
C
C
Q
T
Q
Q
Q
She's
truly
an
inspiration:
okay
and
the
people
on
chelsea.
I
mean
people
scare
me
sister
beverly
is
here:
she's
gonna
do
a
presentation,
but
we
love
you
and
we're
gonna
stand
here
and
say.
Thank
you
all
the
people
of
our
peoples,
those
that
are
here
please
come
on,
but
thank
you
so
much
pastor,
whitley.
Q
B
So
we
just
thank
god
for
him.
We
thank
god
for
that
beautiful
song
that
he
brings
to
our
pastor,
but
I
just
want
to
let
everybody
know.
I
was
the
first
one
that
brought
reverend
dr
samuel
whitley
into
the
city
of
chelsea.
I
remember
when
I
actually
got
her
appointment.
The
pastor
said
people's
name
in
church.
She
wasn't
a
doctor,
then
tell
her
pastor.
B
She
came
to
chelsea
and
became
a
pastor,
see
if
people
say
to
me
church,
we
train
them
up
and
then
they
go
out
come
through
here
and
I
train
them
up
and
then
they
go
up.
But
I
tell
you:
I've
been
through
a
whole
lot
of
passages,
but
I
want
to
tell
you
yes,
sir:
this
is
the
training
ground
people
say
in
church,
chelsea
and
pastor.
M
B
B
B
He
stays
in
the
rain.
He
stands
through
love
through
the
frog
whatever's
going
on
we
sitting
in
congregations.
You
know
everything,
ain't,
always
a
love
of
fear.
You
know
just
like
a
marriage
with
the
church
with
your
pastor
congregation.
You
know
so
reverend
kevin
just
sit
there
and
he
is
a
gentle
giant
and
I
want
to
say
from
the
bottom
of
my
heart.
I
love
both.
S
B
Him
to
peoples
for
such
a
season,
even
if
it
was
to
touch
the
community
of
chelsea
to
wake
folk
up.
It
woke
him
up
amen
and
you
too,
I
will
say
you
two
have
done
a
marvelous
job
with
sharing
your
love
for
god
with
each
other,
your
family,
the
church,
members,
visitors
and
the
community.
Am
I
right
thank
you
for
all
you
have
done
for
us
pastor.
B
Thank
you
for
the
unconditional.
I
mean
unconditional.
We
used
to
be
in
cars,
we
had
no
way
to
meet,
but
we
met
we
got.
We
took
your
church
business
amen
and
your
unconditional
support,
lessons
and
guidance
that
you
have
offered
over
the
years.
I
love
you.
We
the
church,
love
you
and
we,
the
community,
love
you
and
appreciate
all
what
you
have
done
for
us,
through
god
will
and
grace
amen
through
god's
will
and
friends.
That's
always
good.
Okay,
the
church
is
not
saying
farewell
because
we
know
we
know
and
we
need
you.
B
We
can
always
call
you
pastor,
yes
or
take
a
drive
down
to
new
bedford.
So
long
for
now
we
will
miss
you.
Thank
you
for
your
motherly
and
fatherly
love.
The
love
of
jesus
that
amen,
unaddrent-
god
bless
you
on
your
new
pastoral
mission
from
god,
because
it's
from
god
to
bethel
new
bedford
to
god,
be
the
glory
for
great
things
he
has
done.
B
We
can
someone
go
get
the
gift.
Okay,
we,
the
members
of
people,
say
to
me
church
chelsea,
would
like
to
give
you
a
gift
to
remember
your.
This
was
her
first
pastoral
appointment
and
mission
from
god
was
the
people's
enemy
church
and
we
are
a
community
of
people
worshiping
the
triumph
god.
God
bless
you
and
farewell
for
now.
Amen.
B
A
B
C
B
J
B
U
U
U
C
U
U
Your
life,
the
lord,
has
shown
me
that
you
all
and
this
church
it
started
with
me
being
appointed
to
be
the
pastor
of
people's
amb
church.
So
I
just
want
to
thank
the
city
manager,
tom
ambrosino.
I
want
to
thank
the
city
and
state
elected
officials
who
showed
up.
I
want
to
thank
the
planning
committee,
evangelist,
debra
and
sister
beverly
and
all
me,
dr
almi
abeda
and
veronica
where's,
veronica
dyers
medina
and
also
reverend
reverend
aaron,
dr
aaron
jennings,
and
calvin
brown.
That
was
on
the
committee.
I
want
to
say.
U
U
D
U
U
All
right
and
yes,
so
much
has
been
said,
and
I
I
was
hoping
that
I
would
not
miss
anybody.
L
U
U
T
C
C
U
For
your
encouragement
and
always
whispering
in
my
ear,
pastor
go
after
devil,
because
she'll
be
she'll,
be
good.
Once
you
get
her
go
after
her
and
and
when
she
came,
she
has
been
faithful
and
has
never
stopped
ever
since
she
made
up
her
mind
and
cherie.
U
I
know
you
all
know
me
and-
and
I
really
don't
want
to
cut
anybody
short,
but
I
have
appreciated
who
and
what
you
have
been
now.
I'm
just
going.
F
U
Because
I
do
before
I
get
to
beverly,
but
this
is
the
deal
on
april
22nd
2007.
U
The
bishop
did
appoint
us
to
the
pastor
here
in
chelsea,
and
I
arrived
here
on
april,
the
29th
to
an
awaiting
congregation
and
sister
beverly
martin
was
the
first
person
I
met.
She
was
like
my
twin
so
to
speak
in
personality
and.
U
Beverly,
I
thank
you
for
being
that
rock
that
god
used
that
we
would
still
be
here
today,
amen
and,
as
god
has
done,
that,
then
she
read
the
certificate
of
appointment,
which
says
under
the
protection
of
almighty
god.
This
is
to
certify
that
reverend
sandra
g
whitley
is
appointed
to
people's
chelsea.
U
Having
served
22
years
in
the
air
force,
I
am
reminded
of
god's
biblical
charge
and
his
command
to
me
in
joshua.
No
one
will
be
able
to
stand
against
you
as
long
as
you
live
for
I
will
be
with
you
as
I
was
with
moses.
I
will
not
fail
you
or
abandon
you,
be
strong
sandra
and
be
courageous,
for
you
are
the.
B
U
U
U
U
U
Mom
dropped
us
off
at
sunday
school
at
church.
She
would
then
come
back
to
church
and
join
us
for
worship
service
in
the
sunday
school
class
are
the
pastor's
sermon.
There
was
a
scripture
that
stood
out,
and
so
most
of
you
talked
about
praying
praying.
But
when
you
pray,
you
enter
the
closet
and
when
you
shut
the
door,
you
pray
to
the
father
in
secret
and
the
father
which
sees
in
secret.
He
will
reward
you
openly.
U
U
I'd
slide
those
wooden
doors
back,
and
I
would
cry
out
to
god
that
you
would
bring
my
mom
and
my
dad
back
together,
and
I
believe
that
god
heard
my
prayer
in
that
it
was
the
first
thing
that
drew
me
into
this
relationship
with
him,
because
when
I
went
in
and
when
I
came
out,
I
had
a
peace
and
I
fell
in
love
with
the
joy
lord
jesus
christ.
With
all
of
my
heart
my
mind,
my
soul
and
strength,
so
good
or
bad
family
dynamics
affects
children,
either
positive
or
negatively.
U
B
U
So
since
being
appointed
to
pastor
here
in
this
city
called
chelsea,
where
we
met
the
civil
rights
activist,
councilor
leo
robinson
and
ron
robinson
got
me
fired
up
about
learning
the
history
of
the
city
when
they
shared
the
latimer's
louis
vladimir
story
in
the
church
history
year.
They
introduced
me
to
the
city
historian,
dr
mary
bork's,
father.
U
U
U
C
U
U
C
U
U
It
was
like
a
family
reunion,
yes,
the
healthy
chelsea
initiative
and
the
food
bank
and
the
collaborative
efforts
for
the
immigration
reform
and
roca,
with
the
high
risk
and
cbc
with
the
black
history
month,
observers
and
trailblazers
and
the
girl
scouts
memorial
day
for
the
veterans
and
the
point
in
time
count
and
the
homeless
initiative.
U
The
chelsea
hub
that
is
gone
nation
worldwide,
yeah
a
nation,
but
it
might
go
worldwide
and
more
than
a
number
of
cities,
the
colon
19
response
team
organized
by
mimi
and
raymond
and
and
over
70
leaders,
as
all
these
things
have
been
said,
but
as
we
have
joined
and
the
youth
and
the
young
adult
coalition,
and
thank
you
joan,
as
our
president
of
the
cbc,
alongside
of
your
husband
kenneth,
who
is
a
courageous
champion
too,
all
right
yeah.
So
for
all
that
has
been
going
on
and
done
that?
U
Yes,
there
is
so
many
I
I
I
I
I
am
grateful
for.
You
did
not
have
to
do
this,
but
you
did,
and
it
gives
me
encouragement
and
I.
U
U
Yes,
yes,
amen,
and
here,
as
we
are
in
this
new
year,
I
thank
god,
even
as
it
was
said
with
dr
army
and
how
we
met
and
witness
the
lord
knew
to
bring
you
dr
almi
at
the
time
that
he
brought
you
and
for
us
to
be
that.
C
U
Source,
but
when
we
first
got
here,
the
lord
allowed
joshua
the
joshua
to.
N
U
Around
the
city,
everybody
know
about
the
jericho
wall
to
drive
around
the
city
for
five
o'clock
in
the
morning
for
seven
days,
beverly
reverend
sabrina
and
I
would
get
up
at
five
o'clock
in
the
morning.
We
then
got
up
and
drove
around
the
city,
praying
praying
praying
and
as
we
did,
that
also
we
got
out
and
walked
around
all
of
the
schools.
U
C
I
S
C
U
Up
and
found
and
did
some
research
through
the
yyac,
the
youth
and
young
adult
coalition,
ben
and
rudy
and
evan
and
val
and
marina
and
all
of
the
charlie
restijian,
and
found
out
that.
U
With
the
young,
people
was
rosie's
place,
12
years
old
and
older,
and
so
then
what
we
did
in
the
city,
not
just
for
the
young
people.
The
city
council
was
talking
about
affordable
housing,
but
yet
people
here
in
the
city
was
saying
there
was
no
affordable
housing,
and
so
we
needed
to
let
the
folk
know
that,
yes,
we
need
to
be
able
to
hear
from
the
people.
U
C
P
Was
serving-
and
I
says
I
just
want
to
ask.
U
Serving
but
he
was
so
amazed
at
the
organization
and
the
needs
of
the
people
and
seeing
it
right
off,
but
jerry,
I'm
back
to
you
again
jerry.
You
gave
me
that
there
was
55
different
ethnicities
in
this
community
and
over
36
different
languages,
and
you
were
the
one
that
I
came
to
and
we
talked
about.
How
can
we
help
these
children
and
families
in
the
schools,
and
you
directed
me
the
right
way
so.
U
U
U
D
U
U
J
U
U
That
was
how
I
came
fearful
fearful,
but
when
we
are
fearful
that
is
not
good
having
faith
and
that's
what
caused
me
to
be
able
to
go
to
each
one
of
you
and
the
way
in
which
I
did
for
the
concerns
of
the
young
people
in
the
community
for
the
concerns
of
the
homeless,
those
who
are
without
the
oppressed
anything
that
was
done.
That
was
of
injustice.
U
C
Q
U
Away
yes,
dr
army,
we
might
have
some
new
kids
coming
to
your
schools.
Yes,
I
want
to
say
that
he
is
the
right
man
to
continue
the
legacy
of
uniqueness
to
chelsea.
He
is
uniquely
qualified.
He
is
credentialed
to
carry
on
the
work
that
god
is
doing
in
chelsea.
He
is
a
faculty
member
at
bunker
hill
community
college
and
he
is
also
the
professor
of
criminal
justice
at
boston
university.
U
So
dan,
I
need
for
you
to
connect
okay
and,
let's
finish
the
work
that
god
has
started
in
us.
We
are
overcomers
and
you
chelsea
are
very
special
to
god.
Macketti
I
see
you
cara.
I
see
you
lordies.
I
see
you.
God
knew
that
if,
if
this
brown
skin
girl
from
montgomery
alabama
was
born
at
the
start
of
civil
rights,
movement
was.
U
U
Of
receiving
god's
gift
of
love,
we
are
not
each
other's
enemy
humans.
We
are
not
each
other's
enemies
and
god
created
us
in
his
image
and
likeness.
So
I
know
you
will
receive
my
brother
in
christ
jesus.
So
I
want
to
tell
him
that
you
were
one
of
my
students
in
institute
too
right.
Okay,
yeah
and
you
will
risk
okay
go
ahead.
You
will
receive
him
with
open
arms
to
continue
the
work
that
god
has
started
in
chelsea.
Chelsea
is
the
model
to
the
world
of
how
we
can
live
beyond
our
deepest
fears.
U
Trusting
in
the
lord
jesus
christ.
Jesus
is
love
because
god
so
loved
the
world
that
he
gave
his
only
begotten
son
and
so
carrie
you
I
you
know
I
didn't
want
when
I
first
arrived.
U
U
U
U
Like
rick,
gordon
and
patrick,
from
km
and
charlene
bauer
from
metro
credit
union-
and
there
was
somebody.
U
Created
an
all
expense
paid
weekend
for
girls,
who
would
never
probably
have
had
the
opportunity
to
go
on
a
ski
trip.
Saraton
said
you
and
I
need
to
put
this
together
and.
U
Rick,
I
don't
know,
but
I
wrote
you
your
book.
The
book
everybody
wrote
the
book
you're
in
the
book.
Thank
you
and
dave
midland
praise.
Be
to
god
be
don't
go
yeah
uh-huh.
U
So
I
I
want
to
thank
you
for
all
that.
You
have
been
as
we
yes
we're
talking
about
arriving
here
and
then
being
that
source,
then
that
strength
and
that
encouragement
that
got
us
the
chelsea
black
community
together
and
organized
that
we
were
able
to
do
the
things
that
we
have
done.
So
thank
you.
So.
U
Annie
and-
and
there
is
rhonda
and
claire
praise
be
to
god.
Thank
you
now
ricky.
Thank
you
for
being
my
cheerleader.
When
this
cove
happened
and.
U
You
need
to
get
on
social
media,
you
need
to
do
facebook,
you
can
do
this
pastor,
you
got
a
word,
you
can
do
it,
you
can
do
it
and
I
say
thank
you.
God
bless
you
and
we
praise
god
for
my
champion
saying
time's
up.
I
knew
I
would
do
this
and
I
still
feel
like.
I
haven't.
I've
missed
somebody,
but
let
me
tell
you,
I
want
you
to
credit
to
my
head
and
not
my
heart
because
of
those
private
sessions
was
what
was
most
meaningful
to
me,
and
so
I
say
thank
you.
