Description
City of Chelsea
A
We
gather,
I
think
at
these
times
when
we
hear
the
rumblings
of
war
and
we
hear
of
distressed
nations
that
may
be
near
or
maybe
far,
but
it
brings
to
mind
pastimes
of
turbulence
of
political
strife,
and
we
remember
that
our
psalmist
calls
us
to
to
remember
that.
God
is
above
all
the
nations
that
we
are
not
to
put
our
trust
in
princes.
A
And
lastly,
we
gather
at
these
times
to
remind
ourselves
to
place
our
trust
in
god.
In
all
things,
for
god
does
sit
above
the
nations
and
the
future
belongs
to
god,
and
we
have
yet
to
trust
and
to
be
faithful.
To
god's
word,
we
also
gather
especially
to
reach
out
to
the
people
of
ukraine
by
prayer
by
service,
by
calling
ourselves
to
conscience
by
reminding
ourselves
when
there
is
turbulence,
even
in
other
countries,
to
pray
and
to
help,
and
so
without
further
ado.
I
thank
you
all
for
coming.
A
I
thank
the
people
here
that
you
see
that
have
taken
time
out
of
their
day.
It's
rather
cold,
but
here
we
are,
and
so
thank
you
all
for
coming
and
we
hope
to
have
a
lovely
program,
and
here
is
our
city
manager,
tom
eversida,.
B
B
First,
I
just
want
to
express
my
thanks
to
the
chelsea
interfaith
alliance,
which,
even
though
it
has
been
around
for
a
relatively
short
period
of
time,
just
a
few
years
has
really
been
such
a
positive
model
in
the
city
for
collaboration,
cooperation
and
unity,
and
I'm
especially
grateful
to
them
for
for
the
alliance
for
bringing
us
together
tonight
for
this
service.
That's
such
an
important
moment
in
our
world
such
an
important
moment
for
all
those
of
us
who
value
peace
and
self-determination
of
people.
B
That
is
a
force
for
good
in
this
world
in
this
universe
and
there's
nothing
more
potent
more
meaningful
than
this
power
of
prayer,
and
so
my
hope
is
that
tonight,
when
we
fill
this
plaza
with
prayer,
it'll
be
a
small
step,
a
small
ripple
towards
bringing
some
relief
easing
some
of
the
suffering
that's
going
on
in
ukraine
and
other
distressed
areas.
So
I'm
anxious
to
join
you
tonight
in
prayer,
in
my
hope
that
together
we
can
make
a
difference,
and
so
again
I
thank
all
of
you
for
joining
us
tonight.
At
godwith.
C
D
Good
evening,
let
us
open
our
heads
and
pray
father
god
we
are
coming
before
you
thanking
you
for
this
moment
this
time
that
we
have
gathered
to
pray
together,
father.
You
said
in
the
word
that
if
two
or
more
are
gathered
in
your
name,
you
are
there
and
we
know
that
you
are
here.
You
are
among
us,
make
your
presence
be
felt.
May
your
love
be
thought
among
us
and
made
these
prayers
that
we
are
going
we're
about
to
say
before
you
touch
the
hearts
and
the
families
are
having
difficult
times
at
this
moment.
D
Father
may
all
this
prayer
come
before
you
and
start
moving,
something
in
the
atmosphere
that
these
families
in
ukraine
father.
They
start
feeling
the
power
of
the
prayers
of
so
many
people
that
are
touched
at
this
moment
in
the
name
of
jesus.
We
ask
you
all
these
things
that
may
all
be
covered
by
your
presence
by
your
love
by
your
grace.
So
we
can
pray
with
all
our
hearts
before
you
in
jesus
name,
amen,.
E
E
E
E
This
happens
on
many
levels,
however,
it
manifests
itself
very
concretely
when
it
comes
to
food
supply.
On
a
global
level.
Ukraine
and
russia
have
an
outsized
role
in
global
food
production
combined.
They
are
responsible
for
about
30
percent
of
the
wheat
in
the
world,
about
two-thirds
of
the
sunflower
seed
oil,
large
amounts
of
barley,
corn
and
more.
E
E
F
G
I'm
here
on
behalf
of
chelsea
black
community
and
our
petition
is
for
refugees
from
ukraine
and
other
countries
such
as
haiti
and
afghanistan,
where
men,
women
and
children
are
persecuted
and
killed.
We
ask
for
vulnerable
refugees
to
be
granted
strength
and
safety
in
their
journeys,
after
being
driven
out
from
their
native
homeland
and
livelihood,
where
they've
left
behind
most
valued
connections
with
family,
friends
and
culture,
carrying
only
memories
of
their
beloved
countries.
G
Our
petition
for
prayer
is
that,
whatever
country
welcomes
these
refugees,
let
them
be
received
with
open
hearts
that
understands
their
desperate
motivations.
Let
them
be
treated
with
dignity
and
respect.
May
they
be
provided
with
fair,
inclusive,
equitable
support
for
sustainable
long-term
assistance
in
health
and
wellness,
food
security,
housing,
education,
employment
and
religious
practice.
This
is
our
petition.
I
Good
evening,
I'm
christine,
I
am
representing
chelsea
public
schools
for
this
on
behalf
of
the
schools
we
petition
for
the
children
of
ukraine
chelsea
being
a
community
where
many
families
have
sacrificed
so
much
to
come
here
for
a
better
education
and
future
for
their
children,
and
we
know
that
the
families
of
ukraine
also
want
the
best
for
their
children
and
their
future
generations
and
because
of
the
war,
there's
been
a
disruption
to
their
education,
their
livelihoods,
and
we
just
can't
imagine
the
devastation
and
the
pain
that
they
are
all
going
through
and
our
hearts
go
out
to
them.
I
We
know
that
we
have
students
and
families
from
ukraine
in
our
school
community
and
we
stand
with
them
in
solidarity
and
we
support
them
and
in
any
way
that
we
can
support
our
families
as
an
extension
of
our
love
and
support
for
the
students
and
families
in
ukraine.
So
I
do
want
to
offer
a
prayer.
I
know
there
is
someone
else
who
will
be
praying
as
well,
so
in
the
chelsea
schools,
you'll
get
adult
prayer,
so
let
me
just
say:
put
forward
a
prayer,
heavenly
father.
I
We
just
come
before
you,
knowing
that
you
know
every
single
child
by
name.
You
know
every
family
by
name
in
ukraine
and
around
the
world,
and
we
are
just
so
grateful
that
we
worship
and
can
pray
to
a
god
who
hears
all
of
our
prayers,
and
so
we
ask
that
you
will
just
come
and
protect
the
children
of
ukraine.
We
pray
for
their
families
and
we
pray
that
you
will
just
provide
them
with
abundant
opportunities.
I
Lord
just
multiply
the
things
that
they
have
lost
lord
and
we
just
pray
that
you
will
end
this
war
and
we
pray
for
your
provision
and
such
your
sustaining
power
lord,
and
we
just
send
your
love
to
them,
and
we
thank
you
that
you
are
the
father
that
we
can
always
pray
to
and
know
that
you
are
in
control.
We
thank
you.
We
love
you.
Jesus
amen,.
J
I
would
also
like
to
take
this
moment
to
talk
about
the
ukraine
sea
bears
that
we
serve.
Many
of
them
have
come
to
us
asking
and
praying
asking
us
to
pray
for
the
fact
that
they
do
not
know
where
their
families
are
if
they
are
safe,
so
we
help
them
the
best.
We
can
to
ease
the
burden
and
the
added
stress
that
they
have
endured
innocently.

He
used
to
work
in
russia
and
I
worry
about
his
safety
most
and
not
the
ones
who
are
still
in
the
ukraine,
the
two
male
cousins
who
are
still
in
the
ukraine
working
and
doing
whatever
to
help
they
are
not
fighting
physically
and
then
one
of
my
female
cousins.
She
is
in
london
and
the
other
female
cousins.
She
is
in
that
small
village
and
we
grew
up
together.

Yes,
I'm
here
also
united
in
prayer
for
the
families
of
ukraine.
We
give
our
condolences
for
those
that
have
lost
lives
in
their
families,
and
we
are
here
gather
to
pray
in
this
common
situation.
God
bless.
