Today,
we
are
touching
on
topics
that
I
told
you
from
the
beginning
of
the
month.
That
will
happen
such
as
women's
history
month,
so
you're
going
to
see
a
lot
of
women
here
this
month,
some
very,
very
outstanding
women,
women
in
activism,
moms.

You
know
elder
women,
younger
women,
because
the
key
focus
this
month
is
women,
but
we
know
we
also
have
a
holiday
coming
up,
which
is
saint
patrick's
day,
and
everybody
is
irish
on
that
day.
So
we
did
discuss
some
irish
history
within
this
month
to
celebrate
our
irish
ancestors.
If
you
have
any,
I
know
I
have
some
and
if
you
have
some
celebrate
them
have
a
good
time,
but
today's
show
I'm
going
to
be
focusing
on.

Minute
now
that
was
the
highlight
of
my
day
seeing
the
little
ones
out
there,
and
I
know
in
some
of
these
protests-
they
forget
that
little
ones
are
in
the
crowd
and
that's
what
I
fought
with
day
and
night
before
it
even
happened
was
like.
If
there's
any
kids
there,
is
anybody
going
to
speak
up
and
say
you
know
they're
a
part
of
this
movement
they're
going
to
be
the
change
right?

Feeling
that
she's
a
threat
to
her
husband
every
time
he
walks
through
the
door
that
could
be
anybody.
That
speaks
the
truth
of
what
a
situation
is
really
about,
because
there
might
be
someone
or
something
that
want
them
to
put
a
cover
on
it,
so
they
automatically
become
a
threat.
So
a
threat
right,
katherine
can
mean
so
many
things
right.

Well,
as
you
know,
I
mean
this:
you
can't
when
you
have
children
of
color
or
black
kids,
you
really
can't
shelter
them
away
from
what's
happening
in
the
real
world,
and
so
they
see
it.
You
know
they.
You
know
they
have
access
through
different
social
media
platforms
through
their
friends.
So
he's
very
well
aware
of
the
current
events
that
took
place
that
led
to
these
marches
that
that
that
we
were
a
part
of-
and
you
know,
we've
had
tough
conversations
at
home
about
why
these
things
are
happening.

And
the
thing
with
our
boys
is
that
they're
very
cute
until
they
become
of
a
certain
age
where
to
people
they
do
become
a
threat
right,
so
he
did
that
on
his
own
and-
and
I
too
had
an
emotional
had
an
emotional
reaction
to
it
too,
because
you
know
my
son
is
a
great
kid.
You
know
he
really
isn't
a
threat,
and
so
I
just
pray
that
you
know
when
he's
when
he
grows
older
and
society
doesn't
label
him
as
such.

cases

you
know
not
to
say
that
we're
not
you

Humans
are
resilient,
we're
gonna,
we're
gonna,
we're
gonna
work
our
way
out
of
it,
but
we're
just
surviving
right
now

and
we
want

back

where
we're
thriving
right,
and
so
I
had
to
hide
this
like
so
I
wouldn't
see
it
every
day
because
it
would
make
me
get
emotional.

But
then
you
saw
me
later
yeah
little
girl.
You
did
that
and
I
came
to
get
to
know
you
a
little
bit
better
by
asking
you
questions.
Sometime,
I'd
be
like
how
many
sisters
do
you
have
right
right
how
many
people
in
your
family
right
right
only
because
I'm
family
oriented
and
I
have
a
big
well,
it's
six
of
us.

Was
working
at
mga
and
at
roca
too,
I
worked
at
mgh
for
almost
20
like
two
months
to
20
years,
the
20-year
mark.
I
was
pretty
much
there
since
I
was
18.
wow
yeah
and
I
and
I
started
off.
You

in
a
clerical
position
and
worked
my
way
up.
Yeah,
you
know
being
promoted
to
different
to
various
positions.
Until
I
worked.

so
I
I
did,
I
did
two.
There
were
two
roles
that
I
that
I
fulfilled
in
that
in
that
space
and
yeah
one
was
working
at
a
youth
center
in
revere,
I'm
working
with
young
adults
and
there
I
I
worked
with
teens
and
I
ran
an
after-school
program
there
and
then
at
the
office.
I
did
basically
worked
closely
with
the
social
workers
to
help
our
clients
concrete
needs
to
be
met
so
to
basically
make
it
easier
for
them
to
comply
with
mental
health
treatment.

Is
so
true
right
and
I'm
glad
you
had
those
resources
because
I
you
know
was
able
to
benefit
from
that
right
right.
So
you
know
that's
women,
empowering
other
women
or
empowering
fathers
too
right
right
to
to
to
reach
out
right.
You
know
because
mental
health,
as
we
know,
I
love
my
harry,
you
know
and
his
wife
was
going
through
something
and
we
all
know
we
can
have
tons
of
money
right
right.
But
if
our
mental
and
physical
health
is
not
adequate
right,
you're
not
going
to
benefit
from
having
a
good
quality
life.

I
was
talking
to
an
elder
gentleman
and
he
was
in
a
law
enforcement
right.
He
was
in
law
enforcement
and
I
don't
think
he
knew
that
I
was
55
years
old
right
at
the
time
right
and
he
accused
me
of
such
a
thing
that
I
was
appalled
that
I
would
even
at
55
do
to
someone
knowing
that
my
mama
taught
me
better
right
right,
but
then
for
one
split
second,
because
of
sandra
bland.

she
came
up
to
me
one
day
and
I
don't
think
I've
ever
told
her
this,
but
she
came
up
to
me

she's,
just
like

better,

you
can
do
so
much

I
want
to
see

school

went

enrolled
I'm
enrolled

school
after
that
conversation.

During
that
time
I
did
an
internship
for
the
department
of
youth
services
at
the
time
and
and
amazing,
and
that
inspired
me
to
even
more
to
pursue
law
yeah
and
I
ended
up
getting
a
scholarship
and
going
to
bu
after
that.
But
now
I'm
gonna.
Definitely
you
know
I
became
a
mom
yeah
and
all
that
and
I
married
someone
who
wasn't
became
a
lawyer.

Came
about
and
we
eventually
opened
up
a
law
firm
and
the
reason
for
that
was
because
he
became
unemployed
and
he
wasn't
he
he
wasn't
getting
a
chance.
You
know
he's
a
black
young
attorney,
and
so
one
day
I
came
home
and
I
noticed
that
his
resume.
He
had
taken
off
his
credentials
because
he
was
overqualified
for
a
lot
of
the
positions
he
was
applying
for.

You
know,
there's
the
good
there's
the
bad
and
there's
the
ugly
in
life
right,
but
if
we
stay
in
the
pit
of
where
the
ugly
is
and
don't
try
to
take
advice,
right,
mm-hmm
get
inspired,
whether
it's
in
your
family
or
someone
like
you
had
someone
outside,
probably
in
your
family
too.
That's
where
the
first
route
start
right
right.

I've
had
my
time
so

speak

where
my
generation
could
have
used
our
voice
more.
You
know,
but
we
got
comfortable.
We
got
comfortable,

door

slammed

we
got
comfortable
with
not
trying
too
hard.
You
know
giving
it
our
best,
because
you
know
when
you
got
to
the
door
what
it
didn't
matter.
What
language
you
spoke!
It's
just
you
and
I
walk
into
an
office
right
before
we
can
open
our
mouths.
No
one
knows
right.

But
we
both
face
that
same
experience.
How
could
we
deny
that
there's
a
problem
and
so
afro-latina
right
right?
So
afro-latinas?
You
know
for
a
long
time
I
knew
you
know
was
suppressing
a
lot
in
our
communities
right.
I
know
in
my
community
the
panamanian
community.
We
suppressed
our
right
to
speak
spanish.

Right
so
for
me
it
just
it
just
became
supernatural
to
become
involved
because
I'm
directly
affected
and
also
because
I
have
children.
I
also
feel
like
I
have
you
know
a
unique
place
or
position
in
the
community
where
I
feel
like.
I
could
be
really
effective
in
the
sense
that
I
am
black.
I
am
nothing.

little
deep
like
if
you
have
a
misunderstanding
or
assumption
about
someone's
cultural
background
right
right,
you
can
either
ask
the
question:
have
that
conversation
or
you
can
educate
yourself
right
right
right?
So
when
you
speak
with
certain
groups,
you
don't
feel
like
you're
you're
you're,
not
in
you
know,
you're
not
insensitive
to
their
struggles
right.

great

like

listen
to
these
topics.

had
nothing
to
say
about
this

watching
the
progress
of
how
we
re-educate,

we
rewire

brains

think
about.
What's
offensive
and
what's
not
offensive,
you
know
or
what
could
be
damaging
to
future
generations
coming
after
us
right.
You
know
you
think
we.

it,
I
just
I

think
that
that
level
I'm
like
you,

what
I'm
not
gonna
be
too
deep
in
this,
because
I
do
have
knowledge.
You
know
I
might
have
a
little
bit
more
knowledge
of
the
subject
than
maybe
even
a
spaniard
right,
a
person
from
spain.
But
what?
If
that
person
from
spain,
knows
very
much
about
my
history
and
knows
my
history
she's
a
scholar
right
she's
at
the
university
she's,
a
scholar
she
knows
black
history
well,
because
she
wanted
to
know
about
that
right.

it

refreshing,
it
was
rewritten
in
a
way
to
suit
a
narrative,
and
you

it's
not

wasn't

real

I
think
people
now
that
we
live
in
an

era
of
technology.
People
do
their
own
research
and
people
learn
on
their
own
and
the
things
that
they've
discovered
about.

street

statues,

is

that

they

don't.

don't
represent

best,
the
best
of
us.
So
you
know
that's
when
people
are
stepping
up
and
speaking
out

it.

think
it's
great-

we're
evolving
and

most
important
piece
of
all
this
is
to
just
open
your
hearts,
open
your
minds
and
open
your
ears
to
listen
to
people's
experiences
and
just
learn
from

people

really

like.

because

think

there's

lot
of
people
feeling
all
the
feelings
right
now
and
it's
important
to
listen.

had

really
hard
conversations

people

I've

to
learn
and
listen.

About
injustices-
and
you
know
the
way
people
are
disproportionately
being
charged
convicted
and
sentenced-
you
know
disproportionately
black
and
brown
community
is-
is
more
affected.
We
need
to
think
about
where
we
fit
in
all
this,
even
as
just
regular
everyday
citizens
and
one
of
the
things
that
that
that
I've
noticed,
even
in
my
experience,
is
people
bailing
out
of
jury
duty.
