A
Okay,
we
have
the
guest
of
honor.
First
of
all,
I
want
to
say
hello
to
mr.
Robert
Bradley.
We
love
you
mr.
Bradley,
it's
it's
an
honor
to
do
this
event
for
you
and
it's
been
an
honor
to
work
for
you
and
Paula
Bradley
as
well.
Paula
Bradley
Bachelor.
We
are
at
the
80th
birthday
celebration
for
Herbie
coopersmith,
a
Chelsea
legend
turning
80
years
old
how's.
It
feel
mr.
Coopersmith
well.
B
A
B
I
have
to
go
back
and
tell
the
story
about
my
mother,
who
forced
me
to
be
bar
Mitzvahed
and
I
didn't
want
to
be
by
Miss
it.
So
she
said
you
will
be
by
mr.
doe.
You
cannot
play
basketball,
which
is
that
picture
up
there.
So
I
became
by
misfit,
and
my
mother
gave
me
three
pieces
of
paper
and
she
said
I
want
you
to
read
these.
The
first
one
was
never
drink.
The
cup
dry
leave
some
for
other
people.

It's
very
unique
to
grow
up
in
Chelsea,
because
everybody
had
the
same
little
or
nothing,
but
they
had
each
other
and
I.
Thank
you
for
doing
this
and
you've
always
treated
me
well,
and
your
family.
There
are
four
people
that
I
would
like
to.
Thank
you.
Jay

a

we're

that's
been

years
ago,
when
I
was
15
years
old,
he
came
into
my
life
and
changed
the
rest
of
my
life.
I
was
like
a
mentor
like
a
father
to
me,
and
we've
been
friends
ever
since
I
sent
me

got
a
four-year

said:

and
I've
been
teaching

all
of
that

many
other

I'm

No,
how
about
as

Well
I
I
read
stories
about
him.
He
was
a
great

the
biggest
complainer

I
heard
that

the

The
Friday

play
football
down
at
the

We
had
as
many
as
1500
people
there
to
watch
this
game.
It
was
really
the
bragging

They
were
loaded
with
talent.
Our
coach
said
to
us
on
the
sidelines:
listen
place
might
play,
hide
you
even
all
on
the
field.
In
fact,
when
we
win
the
toss,
we
want
to
get
the
ball.
AM
That
was
nice.
We
want
the
ball
anyways.
So
as
I
go
back
in
the
25-yard
line
to
receive
the
ball,
I
looked
down
the
field
and
I
counted
ten
players,
but
blue
uniforms
in
the
blue
helmet.
If
there's
one
kid
in
the
middle

the
pie,
line
up
below
pants
blue

so
we
had
a
play
on
the
play
was
that
when
I
caught,
the
ball
was
going
to
hit
the
sidelines
and
hopefully
score
a
touchdown.
W

AM
20
minutes
later,
groggy
from
the
trucks
and
I'm
opened
up
my
eyes
and
I,
hear
someone
say
the
path
to
paddle
and
I
thought.
I
was
dreaming.
I
opened
up
my
eyes,
it
wasn't
her
Dakota's
bit
that
might
fit
not
knowing
the
waves.
Laurie
has
told
him.
Nobody
called
to
seat
the
pattern.
Nobody
so
would
her
be
came
into
the.
W
AM
AM
Kirby
is
he
was
friendly
with
this
guy
bought
churna.
He
was
the
vice
president
of
GW
and
he
calls
me
my
office
one
day.
I
wish
to
have
a
job
at
this
school
bouncing
is
my
office.
He
says:
listen,
I
got
tickets.
You
will
match
against
GW.
Are
you
in
prices?
Pick
me
up?
The
games
have
two
o'clock
down
in
the
Mullen
Center
UMass
Amherst
and
he
gets
the
whole
Marie
Frank
and
they
picked
me
up
with
a
big
fancy:
car
we're
going
down
and
Marie
and
her
BIA
talking
in
the
front
seat.
AM
AM
What
happens
is
that
big
upset?
The
mess
was
rated
number
one.
They
had
Marcus
Camby,
but
we
had
the
good
place
at
GW
and
as
GW
wins
the
game
there.
He
goes
crazy
and
he
says
to
me:
come
on
come
with
me.
I
said
we're
going
into
La
Crosse
and
we
can't
they
just
beat
the
number
one
team
the
country's
come
on
with
me,
we're
going
in
there.
So
we
go
into
the
locker
room.
First
guy
we
see
is
galaxy
in
the
cool
seven
feet
all-american
he
goes
up
baby
says:
listen!

This
is
a
story
of
how
I
met
Kirby
and
this
kind
of
epitomizes
you
stop
to
think
about
what
Kirby
is
all
about.
I
was
out
of
court
for
the
first
time
in
20
years,
I
was
down
dog
Kagan's
on
Embree
p.m.
and
I
wanted
to
have
my
shoot
me,
Mike,
Epps
and
Herbie.
Was
there
I
really
didn't
know
her
and
we
were
standing
there.
We
started
to
talk,
he
said:
what
are
you
doing
and
I
told
him?
E
E
The
phone
ring
a
week
later
and
he
told
me
that
he
got
me
a
job
told
me
what
it
was
I
got
into
the
rag
business,
but
first
that
and
I
thanked
him
and
I.
Remember
that
my
son
was
having
his
either
second
or
third
birthday
party
at
Burger
Kings
in
Revere,
so
I
went
down,
I
was
thrilled,
I
told
my
wife
and
fifty
let's
see
seventeen
years.
AP
E
Son
was
trying
to
get
into
Westfield
State
and
he
was
having
a
little
problem.
Well,
every
subway
made
a
call
and
I
think
it
was
that
at
that
time,
the
guy,
the
head
of
the
House
of
Representatives,
who
came
from
Chelsea
if
I'm
not
mistaken,
we
got
a
letter.
The
next
week
you've
been
accepted
to
Westfield
State.
E
E
If
you
Herbie,
if
he's
your
friend,
he's
your
friend
for
life,
if
he's
your
enemy?
Well,
you
don't
want
to
know
about
a
brillant
aside,
so
herb
I
love
you
and
I.
There
are
famous
last
words
from
a
great
pitcher
you're
80
years
old,
my
mother,
Lola
and
all
satchel
paige
said:
don't
look
back
something
maybe.
M
Thank
you
for
having
me
here,
I'm
so
privileged
to
be
here
and
honor,
to
celebrate
such
a
wonderful
occasion
for
a
wonderful
man
who
has
done
so
much
for
me.
In
my
life,
I
went
to
Morrow
a
high
school
in
the
Memphis,
got
the
marble
head
about
20
years
ago,
and
I
met
this
guy,
just
because
I
was
in
the
gym
playing
basketball.
Yes,
somebody
said
we
have
to
beat
her
because,
like
everybody
else,
these
were
the
coolest
men,
but.
M
M
Ended
up
going
to
Stone
Hill
college
on
a
basketball
scholarship
I
didn't
play
that
much
my
first
year
in
a
coach
call
me
in
the
office,
and
he
said
the
hell
is
very
cool.
I
said
well
he's
like
my
father,
so
you
better
listen
what
you
say
to
you.
He
said
run
I'm
ready
to
play,
telling
you
that
since
I
got
in
it's
a
season
came
next.
You
have
played
a
lot
and
Kevin.
M
AV
Happy
birthday
to
be
here
tonight
and
to
have
the
opportunity,
thank
you,
like
everybody
else,
like
Dave
singers,
I'm
from
Parma
that
also
I
have
known
her,
be
only
for
20
years.
I
was
on
the
School
Committee
of
marblehead.
We
all
know
when
you
do
the
public
service
plenty
of
public
service.
Here,
it's
very
difficult,
sometimes
to
find
somebody
that
can
be
so
instrumental
so
important
and
advance
the
cause
of
children
and
Herbie
was
one
of
those
guys.
In
fact,
he
was
the
only
guy
I
knew
that
did
this
Herbie
took
me
aside:
I.
AV
And
he
said:
look
we
have
a
Down
athletic
program.
Students
aren't
staying
in
Marblehead.
What
can
we
do
and
from
that
involves
to
her
beak?
All
the
sports
speaker
series
Herbie
literally
brought
in
well-known
coaches
and
athletes
from
around
the
country
to
come
to
Marblehead
we
had
the
gym
packed
with
students
and
teachers
it
ignited.
AV
But
like
so
many
others
and
it's
all
heartfelt,
it's
really
an
amazing
thing.
Her
be
home,
my
daughter,
can
you
imagine,
I
have
teenagers
and
we've
all
talked
to
teenagers
they're,
not
the
most
well.
They're,
not
easy
to
talk
to
right.
Herbie
has
no
problem
when
he
sits
with
them
and
I
watched
it
with
my
daughter.
It
was
an
amazing
thing.
There
was
a
direct
connection
and
she
wasn't
alone.
There
are
thousands
of
kids
that
hurt
has
done
that
for
today.
My
my
daughter
is
a
nurse
practitioner
in
large
part
because
of
her
his
guidance.

a
level

empathy

you
epitomize

legacy

Chelsey

Chelsey
high
school.
Every
single
June
I
have
the
privilege
of
standing
up
in
front
of
the
graduating
class
at
Chelsea,
High
School,
and
offer
a
few
words
of
wisdom
every
year,
I
say
two
main
points
of
wisdom
for
our
students
number
one.
Never
ever
ever
forget
where
you
came
from.
Never
forget
that
you
came
from
Chelsea
and
number
two
always
give
back,
because
that
is
the
secret
of
joyous
and
fulfilling
life.
