A
We
want
to
start
off
this
evening
with
our
theme
is
this
is
the
national
theme
for
for
2019,
Black,
History
Month,
and
it's
black
migrations?
The
reasons
that
we've
selected
these
three
folks
in
the
and
the
exhibit
was
because
all
three
were
were
residents,
but
they
were.
We
have
miss
Fanny
FEA,
whether
she
was
associated
with
the
theory,
helps
she
was
a
slave.
They
bought
her.
She
was
kidnapped
in
Africa,
brought
to
good
later
sold
at
a
slave
market.
A
The
Carrie
family
bought
her
brought
her
back
to
live
in
Chelsea
when
she
was
seven
years
old,
she
remained
in
Chelsea.
She
was.
She
died
in
her
eighties,
with
the
Carrie
family
and
she's,
actually
buried
up
in
Romney,
Marsh
burial,
ground
and
revealed
now
at
the
time
that
was
chosen
for
now.
It's
revealed
that
sort
of
thing.
B
A
A
A
He
was
a
commissioned
officer
in
the
United
States
Colored
Troops.
His
family
originally
came
to
Chelsea
prior
to
him
being
born
on
the
Underground
Railroad
and
on
their
way
up
to
Canada
Toronto.
They
liked
it
here
so
much.
They
decided
to
come
back
here
and
live
when
they
came
back.
Mr.
Williams
was
one
years
old
he's
a
Harvard
grad.
He
was
a
lawyer
and
pretty
much
an
activist
in
Chelsea
at
his
time
in
his
lifetime,
working
for
particular
causes.
B
B
A
Was
because
she
was
pretty
owned,
a
number
of
properties
in
Chelsea
in
her
day
she
would
buy
property
had
puppy
in
Chelsea,
Boston,
Washington
DC
and
what
she
was
buying.
These
properties
for
was
to
to
be
able
to
rent
to
other
black
families
with
him,
especially
on
certain
section
ad
City,
Chelsea
blacks
couldn't
live
so
she
was,
she
purchase
houses
up
in
cata,
Street
on
street
and
Addison
Street,
and
then
she
was
able
to
rent
to
black
families.
A
So
they
allowed
the
slick
they
said
to
this.
They
came
back
with
three
different
slaves.
She
was
one
of
them.
He
was
the
younger.
They
said
to
the
other
that
we
want
to
leave.
You
can
leave
her.
You
want
to
stay,
you
can
stay
so
the
other
ones
left,
but
she
stayed
was
only
7
years.
Old
didn't
have
much
choice.
A
So
so
that's
why
she
was
selected
four
years
I
had
people
had
said
to
me
about
the
slave
house
and
I'd
say
what
are
you
talking
about
like
slave
house,
so
it
took
a
while
to
realize
and
understand
and
learn
the
story
of
this
woman.
So
that's
why
we
thought
it
was
a
good
selection,
educate
people
as
how
African
Americans
came
here,
we're
dealing
with.
B
A
C
C
D
C
Bellingham
square
and
we,
as
we
set
on
the
calendar,
we
have
a
beautiful
display
of
Fanny
Faye
weather,
our
princess
irene
ford
and
we're
just
taking
you
back
to
black
history
in
terms
of
in
chelsea,
and
the
impact
people
had
here
way
way
back
in
terms
of
the
connection
to
the
carrie
house
and
property
and
real
estate
and
business
and
politics.
So
it
goes
back
generation
to
generation.
C
B
Do
not
so
I
just
want
to
thank
you
guys
again
for
being
here
with
us.
You
know
I
want
to
thank
Ron
Robinson
for
his
dedication
and
also
his
history
of
bringing
it
to
us
for
the
work
we're
trying
to
gene
here
with
the
CBC
I'm,
just
informed
folks
about
some
of
the
things
some
of
the
activities
going
on
throughout
the
month
of
February.
There's
a
lot
of
history
here,
there's
a
lot
of
black
history
here,
so
we
just
want
to
thank
all
those
folks
who
some
dedicated
themselves
to
me
these
things.
B
D
I
just
want
to
be
able
to
thank
the
Black
History
Committee
Ron
Robinson,
Joan,
Cromwell,
Sharon,
Caulfield,
Henry,
Wilson,
Celeste,
winds
and
myself
and
got
together
and
planned
a
whole
bunch
of
activities
for
the
month.
We
like
to
call
on
our
community
to
come
out
and
support
these
events,
because
our
history
is
American
history,
it's
worldwide
history,
and
we
want
to
share
that
with
this
community
sometime,
the
african-americans
in
Chelsea
would
get
overlooked
and
what
our
contributions
are
to
society.
So
here's
an
opportunity
to
learn
about
three
Chelsea
figures
who
have
contributed
to
this
community.
D
It
made
this
community
stride
and,
as
a
result
of
them,
we've
been
able
to
gravitate
to
the
top
and
do
some
wonderful
things.
Yes
within
a
community
I'd
also
like
to
thank
cable,
TV,
the
city
of
Chelsea
and
also
to
Chelsea
Cultural
Council
for
their
support
in
making
this
happen
and
also
wouldn't
be,
couldn't
go
without
thinking,
Rikki
to
Bradley
and
Paula
for
all
their
support
throughout
the
month.
I
want
to
say
special.
Thank
you.
