Description
City of Chelsea
A
A
Executive
director
of
the
Massachusetts
housing
and
shelter
Alliance,
and
it's
a
great
honor-
you
will
never
know
what
honor
it
is
to
be
here
today
to
welcome
you
all
to
the
newly
renovated
Chelsea
Commons.
A
I,
just
really
wanted
to
say
again
to
thank
you
all
for
being
here
today
for
this
open
house
celebration
and
also
to
point
out
lots
of
incredible
things
are
happening
here
in
Chelsea,
we're
so
honored
to
be
a
partner.
But
the
first
person
on
our
program
today
is
Again
The,
Honorable,
Leon
Robinson,
president
of
the
city
of
the
city
council,
for
the
city
of
Chelsea,
so
Mr
President.
If
you
could
think.
B
B
My
welcome
everybody
in
today,
on
behalf
of
the
city
of
Chelsea
and
my
colleagues,
and
also
the
welcome
they
called
back
and
I
say
that,
because
I
did
a
lot
of
work
with
Stan
and
Amy
Harrison
had
a
vehicle,
Amy,
Harrison
and
Chelsea
and
staff
and
Chelsea
Coleman.
B
B
A
Next
person
I'd
like
to
introduce
introducing
the
city
council
president,
has
already
mentioned
it,
but
I
think
it's
a
great
time
to
point
out
that
not
every
director
of
housing,
planning
and
Community
developed
across
the
common
level
is
committed
to
housing
everybody.
But
this
is
a
particular
person
who
is
and
again
it's
an
honor
to
invite
you
better
to
invite
the
podium
now
Alex
Trey
the
director.
C
C
Reality
as
Joe
was
mentioning
you
know
across
the
talk
about.
We
have
a
shortage
of
affordable
housing,
but
particularly
affordable
housing
has
a
loaded,
no
professional
housing
for
vulnerable
individuals,
particularly
those
with
the
history
of
addiction
and
substance,
was
used,
and
so
as
we're
talking
through.
You
know,
housing
strategy
over
the
years
coming
forward.
It's
important
that
we
craft
projects
like
this
one
that
really
show
that
we
don't
give
up
on
people
and
that
we
continue
to
do
what
we
can
to
Korean
housing
opportunities
for
people
to
access,
regardless
of
their
background.
C
That
that
spirit
and
that
it
provides
affordable,
housing
for
individuals,
high
quality,
Supportive
Services,
for
Bay
Cove
and
in
an
environment
where
all
the
staff
here
refuse
to
give
up,
and
so
we're
really
pleased
to
be
partners
with
you
on
this
and
we're
looking
forward
to
both
the
growth
of
this
facility
as
well
as
working
with
you
on
further
services
support
the
residents.
That'll
live
here.
That
really
contributes
the
Vitality
of
Chelsea.
Thank
you.
A
A
Our
vice
president
has
too
his
patience,
his
resiliency
and
his
work,
and
now
look
at
what
we're
here
today
celebrate
mark
this
incredible
facility
that
that
is
serving
a
wide
array
of
people
just
need
housing
and
I.
Think
that
that's
a
great
tribute
to
him,
but
I'm
also
thrilled
to
announce
now.
This
is
a
little
bit
of
a
promotion.
A
Obviously,
there
were
awarded
in
this
in
the
spring,
the
main
Bob
Ray
partnership
award
at
the
WBUR
City
space
in
Boston
and
the
Bob
Hope
Ray
award
Bob
was
a
very
good
friend
of
mine,
going
back
onto
the
90s,
who
had
really
made
up
outstanding
contributions
himself,
a
business
person
and
again
that's
why
we
freely
selected
Jim
this
year,
based
on
the
fact
that
just
because
he's
in
business
doesn't
need
is
happening.
So
it
really
really
is
a
great
honor
to
introduce
and
thank
at
this
point
publicly
Jim
demiko.
E
Pretending
today,
I
want
to
thank
Joe,
Finn
and
my
master,
and
thank
you.
They
were
all
making
this
happen.
It's
a
team,
have
it
we're
kind
of
a
working
Progressive
who
constantly
upgrading
the
property
and
I
see
nothing
but
plus
signs
and
every
every
way,
I
turn
so
I
want
to
thank.
Thank
you,
Teresa
for
taking
the
bull
by
the
lawn
here,
you're
helping
us
outside.
E
A
Providing
it
almost
like
what
might
be
a
perfect
segue
for
us,
because
it's
time
to
invite
from
an
agency
I,
can't
think
of
an
age
got
to
work
and
work,
particularly
within
the
Greater
Boston
area,
than
this
agency.
Bay
Cove,
Human,
Services
and
currently
the
last
names,
the
chief
operating
officer.
A
If
she
could
Mr
here.
F
This
is
such
an
honor
and
my
thunder
was
still
on
a
teeny
bit,
giving
a
shout
out
to
Theresa,
because
I
really
do
just
want
to
thank
all
your
hard
work.
Getting
this
program
going.
F
One
of
the
things
that
we
strongly
believe
in
is
that
having
a
home
is
not
rewarding,
it's
a
basic
need,
and
it's
something
that
everybody
deserves
so
to
be
a
part
of
supporting
the
men
living
here,
so
that
they
can
have
a
permanent
place
to
live
and
be
successful
and
be
a
part
of
the
city
of
Chelsea
is
just
a
tremendous
honor.
So
thank
you
so
much.
A
So
so
I
get
the
last
speaker
on
our
program
today
and
I'm,
not
sure
if
everyone's
aware
of
it,
but
Chelsea
is
Innovative
for
the
particular
approach
that
they're
taking
you
know.
I
can
remember
working
with
one
Community
I
think
like
they
had
15
different
Outreach
teams,
but
here
in
Chelsea,
there's
an
attempt
to
integrate
here
and,
of
course,
being
connected
to
those
services
are
so
important
and
this
guy
is
an
innovator
and
so
we're
really
honored
to
have
him
speak
today
and
that's
Dan
Cortez
for
the
Chelsea.
G
Friday,
whenever
his
glasses,
my
glasses,
are
things
I
need
to
take
off.
So
on
behalf
of
the
Chief
Keef
of
owning
all
the
men
and
women
of
the
Chelsea,
Police
Department
and
all
of
our
partners
in
the
Chelsea
I'm,
a
civilian
employee
for
the
Chelsea
Police
Department,
which
means
I,
think
it's
important
a
lot
of
our
initiatives
that
we
have
like.
For
example,
the
Chelsea,
the
Chelsea
house,
is
led
by
the
Chelsea
Police
Department,
which
is
not
something
you
normally
hear
about
writers
and
public
health.
G
Public
Safety
initiative
that
brings
service
provides
together
so
then,
obviously
successful
because
of
the
service
provider
like
they
go
like
Catholic
like
everybody
else,
we
at
our
at
our
community
room
and
also
through
this
room
as
well.
We
bring
together
sewage
providers
every
week
to
take
a
look
at
the
most
high-risk
individuals
in
a
week.
Collaborate
work
together
on
an
intervention
plan
that
is
going
to
help
me
get
them
out
of
this.
So
that
is
incredibly
helpful
to
the
people
that
are
housed
here.
G
So
I
just
want
to
take
a
moment
to
thank
Teresa
for
staff,
because
you
know
I've
been
working
here
since
2013
and
I.
Remember
somebody
saying
good
luck.
Trying
about
those
everybody
was
focusing
on
the
Opium
devices
and
nobody
was
really
I
shouldn't
say
nothing.
A
lot
of
people
were
not
enough
questions
except
Chelsea
ASAP
they
were,
they
were
really
the
only
ones,
and
there
was
a
lot
of
thinking
that
you're
never
going
to
help
the
alcohol
and
the
individuals
that
are
struggling
with
alcohol
right
and
slowly.
G
But
surely
we
started
to
do
that
and
when
we,
you
know
we're
fortunate
enough
to
meet
up
with
Theresa
and
her
step.
We
had
an
outlet,
we
had
a
place
for
them
to
go
because
a
lot
of
times
people
are
expected
to
follow
certain
rules
or
be
so
reluctant,
Sober
House.
And
when
we
found
out
about
this
program
we
thought
that's
fantastic.
We
have
people
that
we
can
figure.
G
Have
actually
allows
us
to
talk
to
each
other
when
we
run
the
opposite,
very
structured
process,
very,
very
structured
process,
so
we
don't.
You
know
we're
not
in
violation
of
anything
like
that.
It's
really
what
helps
people
there's
a
saying
by
the
Canadian
folks,
it's
a
Canadian
model.
It
says
privacy,
information,
the
information
sharing,
helps
protect
people's
lives
and
I.
Think
that's
what
we're
doing
here
and
that's
what
you
guys
are
doing
behalf
of
everyone
Leo
and
everybody
else.
Thank
you
for
for
having
us
we're
really.
A
Again,
I
would
I
always
do
this.
I
have
to
be
very
careful.
I
miss
some
of
the
key
mahasa
stem
all
right.
You
know
Kyle
vice
president
has
been
working
for
years.
In
relation
to
this
building
and
of
course,
Joyce
Devon
has
become
a
critical
part
in
terms
of
securing
funding
for
this
building
at
mahasa,
and
then
none
of
it
will
be
happening
at
all,
either
from
our
side.
If
it
wasn't
for
the
amazing
Monica.
A
A
A
Thank
you
again
for
attending
time
in
terms
of
serving
everybody
again,
it's
an
example
we
buy,
and
finally,
thanks
to
everybody
for
all
you
do
and
for
the
dedication
to
the
people
that
you
all
serve,
and
so
what
I'd
like
you
to
do
just
for
a
few
more
minutes,
particularly
if
you
don't
know
that
much
about
what
happens
here
to
join
us
in
this
video.
That's
been
prepared,
foreign.
H
H
Here
is
the
second
floor
kitchen
that
we
were
able
to
add
it's
a
little
crowded
right
now
as
we're
working
up
on
the
third
floor
kitchen,
when
that's
getting
done
so
we're
able
to
add
these
tables
and
chairs
for
people
to
dine
or
while
they're
waiting
for
their
laundry.
H
I
Know,
there's
always
a
handful
of
people
that
you
can
rely
on.
They
don't
blow
you
off.
You
know
they
help
you
out
whether
it's
filling
our
application
or
getting
a
bus
pass
getting
a
ride
to
the
doctor's
office.
They
help
you
all
in
so
many
ways
down
here.
You
know
mentally
be
able
to.
You
know,
talk
to
you.
They
just
like
I
said
since
I've
been
here
for
two
years,
they've
helped
so
many
people.
I
I
Yeah
well
I
joined
here.
When
I
was
13
years
old,
it
was
called
the
Explorer
post
13
and
it
was
for
kids.
They
had
programs
like
volleyball
basketball
football.
We
did
movie
Nights.
We
went
to
Canopy
Lake
every
year,
so
I
was
a
part
of
that
I'm
from
like
13
until
I
was
about
29
30..
Then
I
had
my
first
child
and
I
kind
of
had
a
poems
from
here
and
stopped
my
own
family.
But
you
know
I
grew
up
here.
I
You
know
I
love
the
people
that
you
know,
I
helped.
It
was
volunteer
work
but
I
loved
the
idea
and
then
I
ended
up
here.
After
all,.
I
I
It's
like
you
know,
you
go
to
a
shelter,
but
you
don't
really
have
a
program
like
this
that
you
can
get
into
a
lot
of
people
like
don't
know
about
this
they'll
just
go
either
to
the
streets
or
to
a
shelter.
You
know
it
needs
to
be
like
more
transparent,
so
you
know
they
know
about
programs
like
Beethoven.
You
know
CAPIC
that
can
get
you
into
something
instead
of
a
shelter,
because
you
know
nobody
really
wants
to
be
in
a
shelter
for
too
long.
I
J
Well,
I
get
along
everybody
good
when
I
get
along
with
people
who
work
here
in
the
shop
that
you
only
have
you
had
your
certain
rules,
because
it's
beyond
that
by
8
30
in
the
morning
and
you've
got
to
live
like
2,
30
3
o'clock
in
the
afternoon
before
you
had
to
get
back
in,
you
had
to
go,
buy
their
rules.
Now
here
you
get
your
freedom,
you
can
go
out
anytime.
You
want
get
a
key
to
get
back
in,
have.
J
But
this
place
is
kind
of
calming
down
the
way
because
I've
had
places
I
had
a
place
to
be
a
roof
over
my
head
people
to
talk
to
and
like
I'm
a
caseworker
case
workers
and
they
helped
me
I've
had
Teresa
and
all
that
aranita
I've
had
people
talk
to
like
a
Cindy
and
Diana.
You
know
those
people
that
helped
me
along
the
line.
The
people
at
work
here
they've
been
good
to
me
and
all
that
and
hey
I've
enjoyed
it
great
I'd
recommend
this
to
anybody,
and
the
program
has
been
excellent.
