From YouTube: CPS Convocation 2023
Description
City of Chelsea, Chelsea Public Schools
A
B
So
we
can
keep
the
program
rolling
on
time,
because
we
know
that
you
need
to
go
back
to
your
schools
and
get
ready
for
our
kids
tomorrow,
where
I
am
so
incredibly
excited
to
have
to
be
in
person.
I
was
just
telling
everyone
some
people
said:
oh,
what
is
it
this
is.
B
Yeah,
of
course,
it's
our
first
time
because
we
haven't
had
a
convocation
in
person
since
2019.,
so
I
will
say,
welcome
back
to
our
in-person
convocation
and
we're
so
glad
that
everybody's
here
we
have
a
full
full
house
today.
So
this
is
extremely
exciting,
but
this
is
an
opportunity
for
us
to
come
together
as
a
community.
We
are
the
Chelsea
Public
Schools
community
and
it's
so
amazing
to
see
you
so
I
without
further
Ado
I'm
gonna
I
want
to
thank
you
for
for
being
here.

High
School
seniors
began
High
School,
virtually
our
Early
Learning
elementary
and
middle
school
students,
resumes
periods
of
growth,
not
just
academically
but
socially,
and
we
are
being
challenged
to
come
together
to
make
up
those
losses
and
then
some
it
is
in
this
moment
that
we
must
remember
our
wives
and
come
together,
find
our
work
friend,
someone
in
the
other
department
of
someone
across
the
hall
and
jump
down.
You
know
why
to
come
back
to
you
difficult
days,
because
it
will
be
difficult
days.
D
D
At
this
time,
when
it
is
easy
to
double
down
and
be
divisive,
it
is
so
much
more
important
than
ever
to
try
to
think
possible
and
see
the
Solutions
in
each
problem
that
arises
positively.
Is
it
going
to
guarantee
success
but
beginning
with
negativity,
basically
guarantee
that
nothing
ever
gets
off
the
ground
being
part
of
the
team?
Is
such
a
beautiful
community?
D
Chelsea
has
always
been
my
community
I
always
remember
my.
Why
and
my
drive
to
keep
going
to
all
of
you
incredible
Educators,
no
other
veterans,
my
life
and
all
Chelsea
stakeholders,
I
shed
the
joy
in
every
Chelsea
success
and
work
with
others
to
see
the
opportunities
and
our
challenges.
Please
join
me
in
continuing
with
this
drive
each
and
every
day,
and
thank
you
and
good
luck
in
beginning
this
weekend.
E
Beautiful
good
morning
my
name
is
Kelly
Garcia.
For
those
of
you
who
don't
know
me,
I
am
the
proud
chairman
of
the
Chelsea
school
committee.
I
have
been
in
on
the
school
committee
for
eight
years
now,
and
it
has
been
such
an
honor
to
work
with
every
single
one
of
you,
but
the
teacher
in
me
would
like
to
do
some
q
a
so
please
rise.
If
you
have
taught
here
at
the
Chelsea
Public
School
System
for
20
plus
years.

Ellen,
so
this
is
our
first
convocation
since
2019..
First
in
person,
this
is
my
first
time
wow
I
realize
it
introduced
myself.
My
name
is
Dr
Jay
and
I'm,
the
district's
Equity
officer.
This
is
my
third
year
here
and
I.
Am
this
is
amazing,
great
joy
to
introduce
another
brother
from
the
south
to
the
stage
Michael
Bonner
this
year?
Is
our
future
guest?
H
To
ask
the
Christian
Foundation
now
as
a
full
and
sixth
grade
teacher
at
the
wrong
clock.
Academy
in
Atlanta
Michael
continues
to
challenge
the
normal
perception
of
classroom
not
only
for
his
students
but
for
his
colleagues
due
to
the
increased
stress
in
the
education
field,
he
decided
to
utilize
his
platform
for
the
common
good
to
combat
this
issue.
Michael
started
the
Michael
Brawner
Foundation,
which
is
partnered
with
Lego
education,
3M
Discovery.
J
H
H
H
700
people
coming
to
our
classroom
every
week
and
they
watch
us
teach
and
it's
the
most
intense
thing
in
the
world.
I
am
shocked.
I
am
not
addicted
to
Tequila
at
this
point
in
time
of
my
life,
all
right,
but
I
love
it
I
love
it
because
it's
so
easy
to
get
here
this
morning
in
this
gym
and
say
relationships
matter,
and
you
count
duh
right
at.
H

I,
don't
want
to
die
this
year.
I
ain't
had
no
kids,
I
ain't
even
got
married.
Okay,
let
me
go
all
right,
so
everyone
I
teach
at
the
one
I'm
family
at
the
screen.
You
can
see.
I
already
talked
to
your
superintendent
and
Dr
Aaron.
When
some
of
you
get
a
chance
to
come
actually
at
our
school,
we
have
two
gigantic
slides
in
the
lobby
of
our
school.
So.

The
rational
banking
that
there
is
a
law
that
the
bank
must
use
90
of
your
money,
so
the
bank
actually
makes
money
off
of
your
money.
Nobody
in
school,
no
one
inside
Society
ever
taught
us
about
the
concept
of
compound
interests.
They
ran
against
Financial.
Girls
said
hey,
you
know
what
let's
interview
Millionaires
and
see.
What's
the
most?
What's
professions
appear
the
most
ten
thousand
millionaires?
Let's
see
what
happens
y'all.
We
look
at
this
particular
screen
on
today
they
did
the
actual
survey
I'll
pop
back
teachers
are
at
number
three.

This
concept:
how
do
you
know
when
change
takes
place?
Well,
we'll
go
here,
everyone.
It
starts
with
this.
It's
called
Black,
Swan
events.
What
is
a
Black
Swan
event?
I
got
you
today.
It
is
an
event
that
is
unplanned,
you
cannot
claim
for
it,
it
happens
and
it
shakes
everybody
up.
It
causes
a
major
disruption
to
the.

Excuse
me,
it
comes
out
in
January
2024
for
3
500,
there's
already
a
wait
list
now,
while
all
this
Innovation
is
happening
in
the
world
and
things
are
changing
and
the
environment
is
set
what's
to
do
something
different
because
we're
sick
of
talking
to
the
same
thing
in
education,
you
know
what
we're
fussing
over
in
education.
Do
you
believe
what
we
have
the
unmitigated
Gall,
the
audacity
to
fuss
over
an
education.
We're
fuss
is
over
bullets.
Awards.
C
H
Y'all
once
a
day,
progress
is
a
possible
change.
Those
who
cannot
change
their
minds
cannot
change
anything
on
today,
I'm
going
to
focus
on
these
three
quick
subtopics
of
what
you
can
do
to
help
your
year
be
a
little
bit
better.
I
am
not
just
talking
to
you.
My
beautiful
family
I
am
talking
to
myself
too,
as
I
start
on
Thursday
and.
H
H
H
H
The
magic
to
make
your
hair
amazing,
it's
called
self-efficacy
trust
me
on
this
one
I
am
a
teacher
I'm
not
going
to
waste
your
time.
I
know
you
want
to
get
back
to
the
class
and
organize
your
stuff.
I
got
you,
but
this
right
here
will
save
your
year
watch
this
self-efficacy
is
nothing
but
a
person's
confidence
to
be
in
that
person's
area.
Here's
a
good
example:
we
all
work
in
the
same
school
right.
What
is
your
name,
sir?
H
Right
so
if
Junior
and
I
were
working
at
the
same
school
with
everybody
and
I
had
a
kid
in
my
classroom,
the
kid
may
not
listen
to
me.
They
may
blow
their
eyes.
They
may
sing
in
their
middle
finger.
They
made
me
throw
a
chair
that
same
kid
can
go
to
judah's
classroom
in
the
same
school
building
under
the
same
Administration.
Under
the
same,
we
are
in
the
t-shirts
and
that
same
kid
can
act
different
and
just
natural.
Why
is
that?
They
have
confidence
in
his
classroom
and
not
in
my
classroom.
H
H
H
J
H
Grade
and
all
of
a
sudden,
I'm
gonna
say
great
I'm
teaching
and
I
hear
this
loud
commercial
in
the
hallway
right.
So
what
I
do
is
y'all
I.
Do
what
every
teacher
do
I
get
a
lot
of
promotion.
I!
Stick
my
head
out
in
the
hallway
I'll!
Be
your
business!
Don't
even
worry
about
it
in
case
they
hit
you
I
got
what's
happening
right.
Dog
train
has
taken
his
shirt
off
he's
going
through
the
hallway
in
third
grade,
beating
his
chest
talking
about
I'm
a
man
he
was
living
just
like
this.
J
H
F

Trading
is
a
father
figure
in
his
life.
The
Traders
want
to
look
on
each
other,
someone's
strong.
It
looks
great
and
he's
doing
their
job.
Well.
Y'all
Trey
had
a
father
in
his
house.
He
had
a
great
problem
in
his
house.
I
wasn't
trying
to
be
Trey's.
Father
I
was
trying
to
betrayed
stepfather,
it's
a
completely
different
for
him.
H
H
J

H
H
H
If
you
need
research
for
those
teachers
that
are
extremely
anal
and
stubborn
research
says
that
Apple
will
be
19,
anxiety
and
depression,
actually
increased
and
celebration
of
minority
show
you.
What
does
that
mean
when
America
catches
a
cold
everybody
certain
communities
catch
the
flu
in
a
moment,
lack
of
resources
all
right,
so.

I
guarantee
that
he
will
want
to
come
back
to
my
classroom
next
year.
I
mean
next
Monday
when
the
weekend's
on
all
right.
So
to
this
last,
one
I
believe
all
right.
The
rent,
instructional
steroids
I
believe
this
one
attention
spans
have
changed
everyone
in
2015,
our
average
attention
span
in
the
second
column,
was
8.5
seconds.
H
H
J
H
C
C
H
J
H
To
my
hand,
okay,
so
to
the
next
one
right,
a
different
one,
same
concept:
it
just
looks
different
still
great
okay.
Now
this
next
one
I
want
to
give
you
a
warning,
because
I
messed
up
last
year,
all
right
this
is
for
the
field
trip.
I
know
all
the
great
teachers
here
have
dealt
with
this
I
was
teaching
my
career
at
the
beginning
of
August
and
I
set
my
expectations
at
the.

This
room-
this
is
amazing,
right
here
this
beautiful
day
this
morning.
We
know
that
sometimes
the
problem
in
education
isn't
the
kids
in
the
school
building.
Sometimes
it's
the
adults
inside
of
the
school
building
all
right.
Well,
you
know.
Sometimes
we
can
trigger
our
students,
but
the
reality
is
sometimes
we
have
co-workers
that
Sugar
out
students
and
we
got
to
put
the
fire
out
before
8
15
in
the
morning.
That's
why.
H
F
H
F
H
I
am
emotionally
intelligent
because
I
study
psychology
before
Elementary
education,
I
know
in
this
room.
There
are
four
different
types
of
personalities
sitting
in
these
bleachers
right
now
and
we're
going
to
see,
can
you
see
yourself,
or
can
you
see
the
person
you
work
with?
If
you
knew
look
at
me
and
blink
twice,
if
you
want
to
keep
on
pushing
okay
all
right,
let's
start
with
this
person,
because
I
I.
H
H
H
H
H
H
It
comes
to
the
actual
back
to
school
meeting
today
or
they
want
to
submit
their
the
letter
resignation
this
morning.
They
don't
know
they.
J
H
H
H
H
Gotta
watch
out
for
this
wieners.
They
are
sneaky
people,
they
are
the
most
influential
in
the
school
building
because
they
operate
together,
but
they're
moving
the
wrong
way.
You
got
to
watch
the
swingers
I
have
a
video
of
a
cleaner,
seeing
it
doesn't
have
it
Fox
News
doesn't
have
it
even
GNC,
see
how
I
differentiated
my
music
channels
right
there
right.
They.
H
Let
me
say
this
for
today:
there's
another
teacher:
I
cannot
stand
and
that's
the
teacher
that
brags
that
their
kids
are
all
on
grade
level
baby.
They
came
in
that
way.
You're
supposed
to
be
a
great
level.
Did
they
grow?
That's
the
real
question
right,
but
the
Bible
says
difficult
in
this
room.
Let's
look.
H
C
H
F
F
H
H
H
F
J
H
H
Once
you
take
out
taxes,
it's
only
six
thousand
dollars,
which
is
not
really.
You
didn't
even
give
a
dollar
towards
jean
day
shut
up
in
this
gym
right
now
there
are
four
different
types
of
people.
Four
different
types
of
personalities
I
have
worked
in
another
crazy
environments.
To
let
you
know
that
y'all
you're
gonna
have
to
figure
out
who
are
you
going
to
be
collectively
together?
So
right
now,
with
30
seconds
of
the
person
beside
you
very
simple,
you.
H
H
H
I
want
you
guys
that
way
up
for
you,
okay,
I
got
you
all
right
now
for
the
record.
You
can
be
all
four
of
these
teachers
in
one
year
one
month
today,
you
can
beat
them
today
right,
but
I
want
you
to
understand
that
you
will
not
make
magic
happen
in
your
schools
if
you
do
not
choose
how
to
collectively
work
together.
This
year
we
were
not
created
to
be
independent
as
human
beings.
We
were
created
to
be
interdependent.
At
my
school
it
is
fascinating.
Every
teacher
has
their
own
theme
classes.
H
My
class
is
called
a
Vortex
of
innovation.
I
have
no
other
life
darks
in
my
classroom,
where
you
hear
the
lights
out,
the
entire
classroom
glows
in
the
dark.
When
you
come
to
the
school,
we
have
dragons
rotating
in
the
ceilings
on
an
8K
screen,
and
people
are
Marvel
they're
Amazed
by
our
school,
but
we
have
tools
in
our
school
climate.

Against

Dylan

solving
trades
he's
old,
he
needs
to
score
40
points
to
be
able
to
win.
That's
the
only
way,
I
respect
him,
I
thought
LeBron's,
gonna
say
something
some
of
the
greatest
players
we've
ever
seen.
Lebron
didn't
say
anything,
you
know
what
I
know
it's
about
Believers.
C
H
That
choose
to
be
great
I
want
you
to
ignore
it
when
they're
talking
about
how
you're
playing
music
in
class
and
how
you're
high
five
with
your
co-workers
and
how
you're
just
trying
to
be
a
great
teammate
and
then
start
to
giving
your
nerves
and
you're
annoyed,
because
you're
just
trying
to
do
your
job.
Remember
this!
For
me,
please,
okay,
whoever
is
trying
to
bring
you
down,
is
already
beneath
you.

is

tall
as
they

That's
How
deep.
The
foundation
is
so
when
storms
happen.
If
you
notice
skyscrapers,
aren't
just
tipping
over
or
breaking
in
the
Middle
Point,
they
may
slay
a
little
bit
this
year
there
will
be
storms
I'm
a
classic
teacher.
Talking
to
you
just
like

there

problems
this

my
father
and
mother's,
been
married
for
40
years
and
I
went
to
my
dad
he's
a
strong
black
man.
I
said:
Dad!
Guess
what
I'm
sorry
Dad
I'm
gonna
quit
I'm
done
with
this
I.
Don't
want
to
do
this
anymore.
You
say
you
know
what
son.

Put
it
back
in
the
recess
the
playground
and
we
can
put
the
supplies
in
there
and
lock
it
up,
and
every
woman
I
went
to
the
staff
meeting
and
asked
that
four
thousand
dollars
with
Katie
Richardson.
They
all
voted.
No,
when
I
moved
it
down
to
two
thousand
dollars,
they
still
said
no,
and
it
was
at
that
point
in
my
life
and
inside.

The
perfect
time
to
quit
I
have
just
one
question
for
you:
what
will
you
choose
to
quit
today?
Thank
you.
What
will
you
choose
to
quit
today?
I
am
going
into
classroom
on
Thursday
I
know
some
of
you
are
going
tomorrow.
What
will
you
choose
to
quit?
I
know
for
me,
I'm
going
to
quit.
Instead
of
neglecting
myself
are.

Thank
you
Dr
beta
quickly,
so
we
kind
of
surprised
when
we
have
Mr
Bronner
books
here
and
we
can
go
kids.
So
there's
a
smiley
face.
Looking
Assurance
on.

Today
we
will
talk
about
your.
Why
and
knowing
your
wife
and
my
wife
continues
to
evolve,
because
Dr
beta
has
served
not
just
as
my
leader
but
as
a
mentor
and
a
dear
friend
my
mind
has
evolved
because
of
my
who
she
saw
a
leader
in
me
at
the
age
of
25,
when
I
didn't
see
a
leader
in
me
and
when
she
presented
the
idea
to
me,
I
laughed
at
her
like
yeah
on
all
your
words,
I
see
the
knives.

Know
this
because
do
you
read
all
of
our
Kobe
time
and
our
virtual
learning
Pete
was
the
one
that's
in
of
our
convocation
and
so
Pete
I
just
want
to
thank
you
for
being
there
for
me
when
I'm
here.
B
B
B
B
Take
a
big
group
photo
together
and
and
then
you're
on
you'll
be
off,
but.
B
To
just
share
just
a
few
things
I'm
going
to
try
to
make
this
as
quick
as
possible
in
June
we
graduated
and
I
think
we
have
all
of
us:
382
Chelsea
high
school
graduates
in
June,
so
foreign.
B
Then
we
also.
A
B
B
A
B
Ing
I
had
to
post
a
little
bit,
but
going
back
to
our
why
this
is
Emily.
How
many
of
you
know
Emily,
because
Emily
would
school
at
Chelsea
Public,
Schools,
okay,
she
graduated
this
year
and
she's
going
to
UMass
Boston,
so
she's,
a
recent
Chelsea
High
School
grad
Emily
came
up
to
me
during
the
National
Honor
Society
convocation
afterwards
I
was
eating
and
she
came
over
to
me
with
citizens
and
urgency.
I
was
scared,
yeah.
B
C
B
On
to
share
her
concerns
with
me
and
but
then
she
says
to
me,
I
had
to
come
and
talk
to
you
because
I
was
watching
you
on
stage
and
you
looked
like
family
to
me
and
oh,
my
God,
I'm
thinking,
I,
hope,
I'm,
not
Grandma
and
then
and
then
she
says
and
I
just
thought
that
I
could
talk
to
you
because
you
go
to
sleep.
Just
looked
like
me
and
you
can
be
part
of
my
family
and
that.
B
And
she's
there
and
she's
like
Miss
by
the
way
your
newborn
Grandma,
you
were
my
mom's
mom
you're,
my
TT
and
I
was
like
okay.
I
want
to
be
your
auntie,
not
your
grandma,
so
I
was
very
happy
so,
but
Emily
had
such
a
when
she
came
back.
The
way
she
came
to
me
was
citizens
of
urgency.
That's
what
we
want
for
all
of
our
kids.
We
want
all
of
our
kids
to
advocate
for
themselves
and
because
she
did
and
I
just
listened
I
now
have
someone
that
she
might
miss
something
to
come
visit.

B
She
had
been
doing
this
for
some
time
when
a
man
of
poster
and
said
like
little
girl.
Why
are
you
doing
this?
Look
at
the
beach?
You
can
save
all
these
starfish.
You
can't
begin
to
make
a
difference.
The
girl
was
crushed
deflated,
but
after
a
few
minutes
she
bent
down
picked
up
another
starfish
and
hurled
it
as
before
she
put
into
the
ocean
and
she
looked
at
the
man
and
replied
well,
I
made
a
difference
for
them.
B
The
old
man
thought
about
this
inspiring
east
of
eastigner
starfish
back
into
the
sea.
Soon
their
Community
joined
in
in
all
the
starfish
were
safe.
So,
let's
join
in
together.
Let's
get
to
know
our
kids
all
of
our
students
by
name
strength
and
story.
I
cannot
do
this
alone,
but
together
we
could
know
everything
together.
