historically
not
had
very
high
participation
in

this

how
mass
save
works.

do

concentration
of
those
residents,
so
this
program
could
benefit
our
residents
quite
a
bit

this

it
means
that
in
some
cases
you
may
qualify
up
to
100
insulate
your
home,
so
so
the
national
grid
offers
100
free
installation
of
your
home.
Finally,
mass
safe
can
also
contribute
in
other
ways,
for
example,
up
to
two
thousand
seven
hundred
and
fifty
dollars
it
it
in
upgrades
to
more
energy,
efficient
appliances,
like
refrigerators
and
other
appliances
that
use
a
large
amount
of
electricity
in
your
home
next
slide.

there's
more
instant
savings
right
that
that
could
be
as
simple
as
as
them
sending
you
light
bulbs
to
go
from
from
fluorescent
light
bulbs
to
led
light
bulbs
that
that
use
less
less
electricity.
They
can
also
send
you
smart
power
strips
that
that,
for
example,
will
turn
on
and
off
depending
on
hours,
and
you
can
program,
they
can
also
help
you
install
smart
thermostats.

that
you
you
can

can
control,
for
example,
the

heating
in
your
home
remotely?

if
you
wanted
to

turn
off
your
heat
when
you're
not
at
home,
you
can
do
that

they
will
also
help
you

efficient,

heads

efficient
faucet

reduce

weatherization

that
means

that

the
summertime,
the

cool
air
remains
in

longer

the

of
the
day,
this
results
in
lower
usage,
lower
usage
of
electricity,
lower
usage
of
natural
gas
inside
your

the
changing
of
your

heating
and
cool
and
cooling
system
has
a
huge
impact,
of

on

amount

energy

used
in
new

gets
a

cold
in
the
winter,

we
use

most
the
most
natural
gas
and
the
most
electricity
in
the
winter.
So
so
really
upgrading
the
systems
has
a
huge
benefit
to
our
residents.

efficient
way

do

it

by

installing
electrical
heat
pumps.

Heat
pumps
basically
are
are
a
very,
very
efficient
way
to
cool
our
homes
in
the
summer
and
to
heat
them
in
the
winter
and,
as
you
can
see
in
in
the
picture,
these
systems
are
are
becoming
more
and
more
popular,
more
and
more
effective
in
city
hall.
We
have
actually
installed
a
lot
of
these
and
they're
very
reliable.
They.

They
provide
a
heating
in
specific
areas
or
specific
rooms
and
can
be
controlled
more
efficiently
than
say,
for
example,
a
a
hot
water
system
that
that
is
typical
in
most
homes.

and,
as
you
can
see
it
in
in
this
picture,
what
it
does
it
it
it
basically,
instead
of
of
moving
an
inefficient
liquid
like
whether
it's
steam
or
whether
it's
water,
this
actually
pushes
air
around
the
home
right.
So
the

air,

you
know,
travels
more
efficiently
travels
with
with
less
force.

very
common
system
that
is,

becoming
more
and
more
popular
and
it's
a
mini
split
heat
pumps
system,
so
you
might
have
seen
these
in
newer
buildings.
Basically,
you
have
an
outside
an
outside
unit

either
heats
or
cools
and
and
then
each
room
gets
a
gets,
gets
a
ductless
heating
unit
actually
in
city
hall,
in
the
room
that
I'm
sitting
in,
we
recently
installed
one
of
these
this.

So
so,
as
shown
on
this

it
can
provide
zero
percent
financing
for
up
to
25
000
paid
over
over
seven
years,
and
and
this
loan
can
be
used
to
install
a
new
installation
to
to
install
the
heating
and
cooling
systems
that
I
showed
earlier.

can
use
it
for
for
installing
solar
panels
in
in
your
home
for
replacing
windows
again.

some
cases
some
residents
can
can
even
get
completely
free
in
completely
subsidized
programs
and
and-
and
if
you
see

you

this
tells
you,
for
example,
if
you
qualify
for
100
programs
such

free
installation,

heating
and
hot
water
systems,
and
in
some
cases
you
can
apply

sub
subsidies

electricity
