From YouTube: Coronavirus Update of 5-24-21
Description
City of Chelsea, City Manager Update
A
B
A
So
the
governor
did
issue
new
coven
19
orders.
Last
monday,
following
the
new
guidance
from
the
centers
for
disease
control,
the
cdc,
most
importantly
starting
this
coming
saturday
may
29
2021,
the
commonwealth's
mandatory
mask
requirement
is
ending.
There
will
be
no
requirement
to
wear
masks
indoors
or
outdoors.
A
The
exceptions
are
in
transportation,
locations
such
as
trains,
buses,
taxis
and
airports,
health
care
settings
and
congregate
care
settings
further.
All
other
covert
restrictions
are
also
ending
on
saturday
may
the
29th
this
coming
saturday.
As
of
that
date,
there
are
no
business
restrictions
due
to
covid
all
occupancy
limits
are
lifted.
All
gathering
restrictions,
both
indoor
and
outdoor,
are
also
eliminated
because
of
these
new
orders
from
the
governor,
the
city
will
return
to
normal
business.
A
A
However,
in
accordance
with
both
cdc
and
state
guidance,
we
encourage
persons
who
have
not
been
vaccinated
to
continue
to
wear
mass,
both
indoors
and
outdoors
and
to
maintain
social
distancing
if
you
have
not
been
vaccinated.
This
is
the
only
way
you
can
minimize
your
chances
of
catching
and
spreading
covert.
19.
B
B
A
As
you
know,
all
massachusetts
residents,
12
years
or
of
age
or
older,
are
now
eligible
to
get
the
vaccine
for
those
between
12
and
16.
The
only
vaccine
authorized
for
use
is
pfizer.
However,
there
is
plenty
of
supply
of
fiser
vaccine
available
in
the
city
and
there's
plenty
of
supply
of
other
vaccines
available
in
the
city.
For
those
who
wish
to
be
vaccinated.
A
A
In
addition,
the
city
has
walk-in
clinics
where
no
appointment
is
necessary
each
weekend
for
the
foreseeable
future.
We
have
walk-in
clinics
here
at
the
chelsea
senior
center
across
from
city
hall.
The
hours
for
this
weekend
are
friday,
three
to
seven
saturday
and
sunday,
ten
to
five
the
vaccine.
There
is
pfizer.
In
addition,
there's
a
walk-up
clinic
this
friday
may
the
28th
at
highland
park
across
from
the
boys
and
girls
club.
That's
going
to
go
friday
from
12
to
5.
A
mgh
mass
general
hospital
in
brigham
will
be
operating
its
mobile
vaccination
van
there
with
pfizer
vaccine
available.
Of
course,
you
can
always
go
on
the
state's
website
and
seek
appointments
at
any
of
the
state
vaccination
sites
to
do
that.
Go
to
vatsfinder.mass.gov
the
city
strongly
strongly
encourages
all
residents
who
are
eligible
to
get
a
vaccine.
A
B
A
In
addition
to
the
vaccines,
testing
also
remains
available
in
the
city.
We
encourage
those
residents
who
have
not
yet
been
vaccinated
to
get
tested
regularly.
Remember
up
to
40
percent
of
individuals
who
have
covert
in
our
spreading
covert
have
no
symptoms.
The
only
way
you
know
whether
you
actually
have
covid
is
to
get
tested
regularly.
A
B
A
A
couple
of
non-covert
related
issues.
The
first
has
to
do
with
fireworks.
As
many
of
you
know,
the
city
had
a
terrible
year
with
fireworks
last
summer,
with
many
many
complaints
and
as
the
new
summer
season
approaches,
the
city
and
its
police
department
is
reminding
all
residents
that
fireworks
are
illegal
in
massachusetts.
A
In
fact,
a
new
city
ordinance
has
been
implemented
by
the
city
council
to
address
this
matter
now.
Homeowners,
landlords
and
tenants
can
be
held
liable
for
fireworks
up
to
three
hundred
dollars.
Fine
per
incident.
I
can
assure
you
this
fine
will
be
enforced
by
the
chelsea
police,
you're
encouraged
to
report
illegal
fireworks
to
the
city's
911
center.
A
A
Now
a
note
about
outdoor
dining,
we
want
to
bring
to
the
business
community's
attention
a
new
program
that
we
are
offering
to
restaurants,
bakeries,
cafes
and
eateries
that
are
interested
in
doing
outdoor
dining.
This
season,
the
city
today
launched
a
new
grant
program
to
help
these
entities
that
wish
to
expand
into
outdoor
dining.
This
grant
pays
up
to
five
thousand
dollars
for
a
restaurant
or
eatery
to
purchase
things
like
shade
structures,
umbrellas
barriers,
decor
tables
and
chairs
to
help
them
implement
outdoor
dining,
there's
no
cost
it's
a
pure
grant.
A
A
A
These
this
information
is
available
on
our
website.
Lawyers
will
provide
you
with
legal
assistance
for
tenants.
Rental
assistance
remains
available
for
details
on
applying
for
rental
assistance,
go
to
the
housing
resources
page
on
the
city's
website.
The
cities
also
has
launched
a
homeowners
assistance
program.
A
A
Applicants
can
apply
as
long
as
their
income
does
not
exceed
one
hundred
percent
of
area
median
income.
The
deadline
for
this
application
for
the
homeowner's
assistance
program
is
friday
june.
The
18th.
We
expect
many
many
applicants
for
this
program
and
we
will
likely
have
a
lottery.
We'll
have
details
on
that
lottery
at
a
later
time.
B
B
A
We've
made
remarkable
progress
in
the
city
over
the
past
year,
and
much
of
it
is
due
the
good
work
of
our
residents,
who
were
following
the
city's
guidance
and
keeping
themselves
and
their
neighbors
safe,
and
I
really
am
very,
very
grateful
for
all
of
your
work.
Of
course,
this
doesn't
mean
the
pandemic
is
entirely
over.
