Good morning and thank you for joining us once again for mindful walking we're once again at lake chautauqua,.

A

And for those of you who haven't joined us before, mindful walking is as simple as getting away from your daily life, just keeping your thoughts focused on where you are at this moment. What you're doing your surroundings.

A

Just letting all the hassles and stresses of everyday life go just give your brain a break.

A

Lake chautauqua is just off of landmark near safety, harbor very quiet, very pleasant, tucked back in here amongst the neighborhoods.

A

Remember your own safety, as you walk, have your mask with you always stay at least six feet.

A

A

And speaking of your own safety, while this is a really nice boarded walkway to the lake, other parts of the path might not be so smooth and easy to maneuver.

A

If you have any kind of balance issues, you'll want to have a cane or a walker with you or maybe even walk with a friend, so you can support each other.

A

However, if you do walk with a friend, remember that you're, both out here for mindful walking you're, not out here to chit chat about all the problems that are going on in your lives. That's what you're here to get away from so walk together in companionable.

I can actually hear my footsteps on the ground shells.

A

Now, we've moved off of that and it's quieter.

A

So what can you hear that you don't normally hear? What can you see that you don't normally see.

A

If you find yourself getting distracted, if that pounding hammer seems to bother, you refocus on something else,.

A

Some kind of wild iris or just a grass.

A

I don't know if you could see that dragonfly just then the sun, like glinting off its wings.

A

And that's the kind of thing to do when you're, mindful walking, you're right here, you're, seeing the things around you you're, listening to the things around you if you're lucky, maybe you've got some flowers and bloom around you that you can use your sense of smell as well.

A

But try to use all of your senses and take advantage of this getaway from your daily life.

A

It's a bit of a windy day today, so you can hear the rustling of the leaves the movement of the branches.

A

Just stop and enjoy the bare trees in the distance.

A

A

Touch of course you don't want to necessarily touch everything, that's out here, not knowing what it might be.

A

Can you see the.

A

A

Something just went scampering across the path a moment ago might have been a squirrel from the leap in the long tail.

A

And here's one of the neighborhoods surrounding lake.

A

But don't let this pull you back in.

A

A

Here the bird calls.

A

Look at the difference in the leaf colors, the lighter brighter green of all the new.

A

A

How often do we actually notice that anymore, we're so caught up in all of the news.

A

And all of the stress just get away from all of that and let it.

A

A

It's the old, stop and smell the roses, but what we're doing is actually just getting away from it all and stopping to let it.

A

A

There is nowhere else you need to be. There is nothing else. You need to be doing just keep your focus right here.

A

Let everything else.

A

One of the things I personally love about florida is looking at the shapes of the trees, some of the twisted branches, seeing the hanging spanish moss.

A

Enjoying the difference in what I'm seeing in a park here from up north and appreciating those differences.

A

Focusing on those.

A
