Good morning, thank you for joining us for our mindful walk today, we're at clearwater beach, I'm michael marshall, from the aging well center at the city of clearwater.

A

When you're doing mindful walking, you want to focus your attention on right now and right now is so peaceful here at the beach. As you can see it's early morning, no crowds, lots of birds.

A

By keeping your focus on where you are right now, what's around you right now, you're taking yourself out of all of your everyday cares, which, during the present time, can be a really helpful, helpful thing.

A

Be more observant, as you walk notice, what's around.

A

A

See the sunlight in the clouds, as the sun is just starting to come up.

A

Even though we're on the west coast and we're not seeing truly a sunrise, we are at least getting the light off. The clouds.

A

If you wanted, you could do a little.

A

A

Again, at this point in time, do remember, as you're walking to stay safe, maintain social distancing and if you don't wear a mask at least have one with you in case. You need.

A

A

This morning we're walking toward pier 60.. You can see it up ahead.

A

One of the things you might be doing when you're out walking is exploring places that you haven't been to before and deciding whether or not it's some place. You want to go something you want to do at a later date and time.

A

By the way, walking on the beach is great exercise.

A

You're using your muscles differently, walking on the sand than you are walking on a hard surface.

A

To change things up, you can walk near the water where the sand is firmer and you can walk away from the water where the sand is softer.

A

You'll use your muscles differently on each type of.

A

A

One of the things about staying in the moment is that, as I stood here and watched, the abyss, a childhood memory came up when I was at the beach at a young age and standing on the wet sand, realized that as the waves go in and out over your feet, if you stand still you'll sink in.

A

A really pleasant memory and those are the kinds of things that can happen if you stay focused and if you stay mindful and if you just let your mind, be free and not be worried and stressing and thinking about getting to the grocery store and what you have to pick up and so forth.

A

Just keep your mind right here.

A

If you do think about going to the grocery store, acknowledge it let it go and keep.

A

You may have noticed that, as early as it is, the number of people is starting to increase.

A

So we'll just stay aware of that.

A

Foreign I've been there when I've gone fishing with my brother, I've been there for special events.

A

It can be a fun place to go, keep that in.

A

A

A

The number of birds this morning is really incredible.

A

A lot of people have commented that, as this has gone on.

A

And we are less of our surroundings: the wildlife, the butterflies, are all out more often and much more.

A

A

Again sometimes it's just good to stand not only to observe what's going on, but maybe you need a rest once in a while.

A

Always carry a bottle of water with you. Maybe you want to have a drink.

A

Maybe you just want to enjoy everything. That's around.

A

A

And maybe you just want to feel your feet sinking into the.

A

A
