B
All
right
well,
first
of
all,
thank
you
all
for
showing
up.
This
is
a
this
is
another
with
a
nod
to
our
folks
in
the
chamber,
another
amazing
day
for
small
business
in
in
columbus,
georgia.
You
know
the
pandemic
impacted
a
lot
of
people
a
lot
of
different
ways
and
and
none
more
so
than
our
small
business
community,
and
not
just
in
our
community
but
throughout
the
communities
throughout
the
country
and
thankful.
B
Thankfully,
the
way
we
responded
in
a
very
proactive,
unified
way,
you
saw
members
of
the
council,
you
saw
our
staff,
you
saw
the
chamber
and
visit
columbus
and
our
community
investment
area.
The
way
we
got
on
top
of
this
early
and
tried
to
find
ways
to
help
our
small
business
helped
us
fare
this
pandemic,
fair
this
better
than
most
going
through
this
this
pandemic.
B
So
we
were
delighted
to
find
out
yesterday
that
we
were
approved
for
an
additional
grant
from
arpa
funding
through
the
state
office
of
planning
and
budget,
another
four
million
dollars
that
will
be
earmarked
in
columbus,
georgia
for
small
business.
Now
three
million
of
that
is
earmarked
for
small
business,
one
million
for
non-profit.
B
We
are
also
taking
a
look
at
the
distribution
of
those
funds.
We're
excited
that
I
think
2.2
million
have
already
been
dispersed,
but
we
have
noticed
that
there
are
a
lot
of
a
lot
of
smaller
businesses
that
need
assistance
and
trying
to
complete
the
application.
So
we
are
also
announcing
that
we're
launching
an
initiative
to
try
to
engage
with
the
chamber
to
make
sure
that
we
have
people
reaching
out
again
proactively,
so
that
we
can
help
them
navigate
some
of
the
difficult
aspects
of
the
of
the
application
process.
But
the
bottom
line
is
columbus.
B
Georgia,
one
of
the
things
that
makes
us
so
special
is
the
way
we
help
each
other
and
to
be
able
to
apply
these
funds
to
individuals
who
are
who
are
paying
the
the
wages
who
are
delivering.
The
services
is
just
it's
an
incredible
opportunity
for
for
this
community
to
reinvest
in
the
people
that
keep
this
this
city
such
a
great
place
to
live.
B
C
B
That's
probably
an
angelica
question,
but
it's
going
to
look
fairly
similar
to
what
we've
we've
we've
done
with
our
funding.
It's
it's
still
going
to
take.
What
we're
unclear
about
at
least
I
am
at
this
point-
is
whether
or
not
this
will
be
a
draw
situation
where,
as
these
as
these
requests
are
made,
we'll
draw
some
of
the
funds
down
or
whether
or
not
we'll
just
get
the
full
four
million
lumps
on,
but
it's
probably
going
to
take
about
another
six
to
eight
weeks.
B
According
to
the
initial
information
we
received
from
opb
before
we're
able
to
navigate
through
that
process
and
start
receiving
the
funds.
D
B
Talked
about
right,
that's
correct!
This
comes
from
the
economic
development
portion
that
we
actually
reached
out
to
and
put
in
an
application
for.
So
really
it
was
through
the
work
of
our
staff,
led
by
our
city
manager,
isaiah,
hugley
and
angelica,
and
rob
that
we
were
able
to
put
together
a
request
to
get
that
funding
allocated.
D
Governor
kemp,
it
was
a
really
interesting
news
release
from
him.
Yesterday,
the
last
sentence
was
this
comes
from
democratic
approved
and
I'm
paraphrasing
a
little
bit
democratic,
approved
funds.
I
mean
so
this
clearly
is
coming
from
the
bible
from
the
not
from
the
partisan
bill
right.
This
is
this
is
democratic,
approved
money.
B
Right,
it's
my
understanding,
okay,
but
we're
we're
just
excited
that
we
were.
We
were
able
to
put
together
a
request
that
was
that
resonated
with
the
the
governor's
office
and
and
the
group
that
he
put
together
to
oversee
the
disbursement
and
the
allocation
of
these
funds,
we're
just
thrilled
that
our
small
business
folks
are
going
to
benefit
from
it.
D
B
Rob
or
angelica
may
be
able
to
get
that
information
for
you.
I
don't
have
it.
I
know
that
we're
in
the
process
they're
about-
and
I
hope
I
don't
get
the
numbers
wrong,
but
I
think
we've
got
about
45
percent
that
still
have
not
even
finished
their
application.
So
we've
got
to
try
to
access
those
individuals
in
the
first
wave
yeah.
We
have
not
yet
begun.
Even
accepting
applications
there's
a
chance.
We
absolutely
will
revisit.
B
Some
of
the
guidelines
won't
be
any
massive
changes,
but
there
may
be
some
tweaking
in
order
to
simplify
the
process
so
that
these
these
individuals
that
maybe
so
have
such
a
small
business,
they
don't
even
have
an
accountant.
We
may
be
able
to
help
them
navigate
that
process
a
little
bit
a
little
bit
cleaner.
D
C
B
You
know,
we've
we've
been
very
fortunate.
I
mean
the
the
government
worked
with
the
chamber
and
we
all
kind
of
pivoted
right
around
the
time
covet
hit
to
really
focus
on
small
business,
and
we
did
a
lot
of
things.
We
deferred
taxes.
We
looked
at
changing
some
ordinances
and
the
chamber
really
got
kind
of
hyper
focused
on
the
small
businesses,
but
they
were
still
hurting.
B
Now
we
had
fewer
small
businesses
go
out
of
business
in
21
than
we
had
over
the
last
six
years,
but
many
of
them
were
just
hanging
on
and
they
we've
been
hearing
from
them.
We
talked
to
them,
we
go
out,
and
we've
actually
had
some
of
our
counselors
have
actually
gone,
knocking
on
some
of
these
businesses
doors
one
to
let
them
know
the
funds
are
available
and
two
to
try
to
listen
to
them
on
what
they
need.
B
So
these
funds
are
are
granted
based
on
expended
funds
for
payroll
for
utilities
for
mortgages,
all
the
basics
that
that
these
small
businesses
had
to
have
to
spend
money
on
to
kind
of
keep
going
so
yeah
we're
hearing
from
them
that
they're
still
they're
still
open
and
they're
still
serving
the
folks
of
this
community.
But
it's
been
tough
and
there's
still
got,
there's
still
a
hole
in
some
of
those
budgets.
C
B
I
rob
do
you
know
offhand
how
much
is
still
left
that
had
left
to
be
allocated
we've?
I
think
we've
been
able
to
allocate
about
2
million
2.2
million,
so
roughly
half
of
it.
I
think
most
of
that
has
been
in
the
small
business
arena
and
in
the
nonprofits.
I
don't
know
that
we've
had
quite
as
big
of
a
a
request
for
the
hospitality
or
the
the
the
tourism
piece.
A
B
Regular
unusual
expenses
that
they
had
to
incur
during
the
pandemic,
if
they,
if
they
were,
if
they
met
the
other
requirements
in
terms
of
when
they
were
in
business,
then
yes,
that
it
can,
it
can
be
used
to
recover
some
of
the
money
that
they
spent
on
those
items.
What.
B
B
B
That's
that's
probably
a
rob
or
angelica
question
if
you
all
have
an
answer
to
that,
if
you
receive
funding
from
the
first
tranche
of
funds,
can
you
also
apply
for
for
this
part
that
comes
from
the
opb.
E
To
make
sure
that
we
cover
utilizing.
B
E
There
have
been
68
and
I'll
have
to
just
based
on
memory
now,
but
I
believe
we've
approved
six
to
eight
small
business
applications
we
have
about
for
about
a
total
of
550.
E
No
about
the
total
of
549
applications
that
we
received
from
the
small
businesses
and
as
the
mayor
mentioned
about
45
of
those
just
haven't,
made
any
progress
towards
completing
the
application,
but
out
of
the
549
we've
approved
68
they
have.
There
are
some
that
were
not
approved.
I
think
I
believe
it
was
about
24
that
have
not
been
approved
just
for
you
know
not
meeting
all
the
criteria
and
so
forth
for
the
program,
and
then
there
are
currently,
I
believe,
18
that
have
been
submitted
and
are
currently
under
a
degree.
D
E
The
average
it
really
varies,
but
you
can
receive
as
a
small
business
up
to
forty
thousand
dollars,
so
we've
had
some
to
receive
up
to
that
maximum
based
on
the
reimbursable
expenses
that
they
submitted
in
some.
You
know
obviously
right
below
that.
I
really
don't
want
to
provide
a
number
in
terms
of
the
average.
