A
Well,
greetings:
I'm,
Sanford,
D,
Bishop,
jr.
I
grew
up
at
2413
Ridge
Road,
my
backyard
touch
the
backyard
of
the
Williams
family,
Reverend
Gilbert
Williams,
mrs.
Tillman
Williams,
Nathanael,
Belinda
and
Aubrey
I
lived
there
from
the
time.
I
was
seven
years
old
up
until
I
left
to
go
to
college.
Our
community
was
truly
a
village
and
mrs.
Williams
and
Reverend
Williams
were
really
surrogate
parents.
Both
of
my
parents
worked
and
both
of
my
parents
were
at
work
when
I
got
home
from
school,
but
mrs.
A
As
I
look
back,
I
am
now
a
resident
of
Georgia
I
represent
the
2nd
congressional
district
of
Georgia,
which
is
middle
and
southwest
Georgia
in
the
United
States
House
of
Representatives
I've
held
that
position
now
for
almost
28
years.
Before
that
I
served
in
the
Georgia
House
of
Representatives
and
the
Georgia
State
Senate.
As
I
look
back
on
my
life,
though
I
can't
say
that
there
was
any
stronger
influence
on
me
that
mrs.
Tillman
Williams,
our
Reverend
Gilbert
Williams
and
the
Williams
family
every
Sunday
morning
at
9:30.
A
Our
Reverend
Williams
would
be
Tooting
the
horn
in
front
of
the
house
to
take
me,
along
with
his
family,
Nathaniel
and
Belinda
and
Aubrey
to
Sunday
school
at
Franklin
Street
Baptist
Church.
It
was
very,
very
seldom
that
I
was
not
there.
My
parents
would
join
us
at
church
at
the
eleven
o'clock
service,
but
because
of
Reverend
and
mrs.
Williams
I
was
always
at
the
9:30
Sunday
school
at
Franklin
Street.
A
It
was
those
foundational
experiences
at
Franklin
Street
that
exposed
me
to
spiritual
values
to
Boy
Scouting
and
which
based
the
foundation
of
my
character,
and
for
that
for
mrs.
Williams
I
have
to
say
thank
you.
Thank
you.
Thank
you
and
I.
Don't
think
if
I
could
speak
every
language
in
the
world
and
had
a
command
of
all
of
the
words
in
every
language
that
I
would
have
enough
words
combined
to
express
the
gratitude
for
what
the
Williams
family
and
mr.
moon
Williams
has
meant
to
me
and
my
life.
A
So
today,
as
you
celebrate
your
100th
birthday,
I
want
you
to
know
that
your
surrogate
son,
Sanford
Bishop,
it's
thinking
about
you,
it's
sending
you
love
and
it's
sending
you
gratitude
for
all
that.
You
have
meant
to
me
and
to
all
of
the
young
people
that
grew
up
in
that
Tolman
Ville
neighborhood,
where
we
were
Redman,
Street,
Ridge,
Road,
a
bunch
Road,
Yerba,
Drive,
we're
just
so
so
very
grateful.
A
Miss
Williams
and
God
has
truly
blessed
you
to
allow
you
to
live
for
a
century
100
years,
but
a
hundred
years
in
the
eyes
of
God
is
just
a
minute,
but
you
have
done
so
much
in
your
minute
and
in
God's
minute
the
poet
says:
I
have
only
just
a
minute.
Only
60
seconds
in
it
forced
upon
me
can't
refuse
it
didn't,
seek
it
didn't
choose
it.
I
must
suffer
if
I
lose.
It
give
a
count
if
I
abuse
it
just
a
tiny
little
minute,
but
eternity
is
in
it
miss
Williams.
A
As
you
celebrate
your
100th
birth,
they
I
want
you
to
know
that
you
have
used
God's
minute,
really
really
well,
you
have
done
so
much
for
so
many
for
so
long,
and
for
that
all
we
can
say
is
to
God,
be
the
glory
I,
wish
you
many
more
birthdays
and
I.
Thank
you
for
the
love
and
support
that
you
have
given
me
all
of
my
life.
I
hope
that
your
celebration
is
a
great
one.
I
look
forward
to
seeing
you
the
very
next
time
I'm
in
mobile
god
bless
you
and
God.
Keep
you.
