This
is
your
City
Council.
B
We've
converted
it
to
a
business
meeting
for
purposes
of
swearing
in
officers,
elected
officers
both
at
the
city
and
county
constitutional
level,
and
so
we're
gonna
get
down
to
that
in
just
a
moment,
and
we
so
appreciative
of
all
of
you
all
who
came
to
support
those
that
have
the
courage
to
throw
their
hat
in
the
ring
and
represent
the
citizens
of
this
great
community.
We
also
will
be
swearing
in
our
particular
officers
here
in
a
moment,
so
that
will
be
some
of
the
business,
but
it
should
be
a
relatively
short
agenda
tonight.
B
C
C
Evening,
let
us
pray
dear
God
first,
let
me
say
thank
you
on
behalf
of
all
those
who
have
gathered
here
today.
Thank
you
for
your
many
and
abundant
blessings.
Thank
you
for
life
itself
for
the
measure
of
health.
We
need
to
fulfill
our
calling
for
sustenance
and
for
friendship.
Thank
you
for
the
ability
to
be
involved
in
useful
work
and
for
the
honor
of
bearing
appropriate
responsibilities
thanks
as
well
for
freedom
to
embrace.
You
are
the
freedom
to
reject
you.
Thank
you
for
loving
us.
C
So
from
your
boundless
and
gracious
nature,
we
thank
you
for
our
community
of
and
all
those
who
serve
in
it,
for
those
who
teach
and
for
those
who
protect
for
those
who
clean
and
for
those
who
repair
for
those
who
work
in
parks
and
for
those
those
who
work
on
roads
for
those
who
plan
and
for
those
who
make
plans
for
those
who
heal
and
for
those
who
counsel
for
all
who
live
into
the
best
example
of
what
it
means
to
be
a
citizen.
We
thank
you
for
our
community.
C
We
pray
for
all
in
our
community
who
are
hungry.
Unemployed
are
uninsured.
We
pray
for
all
in
our
community
who
are
mentally
and
are
physically
ill.
We
pray
for
all
in
our
community
who
live
in
violence.
We
pray
for
these
and
all
burdens
of
our
larger
community
hear
our
prayers
as
we
gather
this
evening.
I
pray
for
every
person
that
is
here
give
each
person,
clarity
of
mine,
creativity,
compassion
and
diligence,
integrity
and
a
sense
of
humor
give
them
listening
ears
and
thoughtful
words,
give
them
peace
of
mind
and
an
open
heart.
C

we're
so
glad
to
serve
alongside
us--
welcome
to
the
family
all
right!
Well,
with
that
we're
going
to
move
on
with
business,
we

we're
going
to
turn
it
over
to

to
lead

through
our

We
get
started
I
just
like
to
say
we
do
the
best.
We
can
to
say
thank
you,
but
thank
you
so
very
much
for
all
that
you've
done
here
with
the
city.
We
have
great
employees
here
and
we
know
each
day
and
each
week
when
we
hear
from
the
citizens
what
a
good
job
you
all
do.
So
today
is
your
day
and
you
have
one
other
counterpart.
D
D
He
was
a
great
leader
team,
member
and
supervisor
to
all
of
his
employees,
whereas
he
helped
the
Tax
commissioner's
office
be
awarded
the
governor's
commendation
award
in
customer
service
by
governor
sonny
Perdue,
whereas
he
oversaw
the
office
transition
from
his
former
location
at
110th,
Street
to
his
current
location
at
3111
citizens
away,
whereas
the
service
of
mr.
Darrell
Tony
flora
is
worthy
of
special
recognition
by
this
council.
Now,
therefore,
the
council
Columbus
Georgia,
hereby
resolves.
We
hereby
commend
and
congratulate
mr.
Darrell
Tony
Floyd
upon
his
retirement
from
the
Tax
commissioner's
office
on
December
30th.
D
2016
Columbus
deeply
appreciates
his
dedicated
service
to
his
team,
our
citizens
and
all
officials
of
the
consolidated
government,
and
we
wish
him
every
happiness
in
his
retirement
that
a
copyist
resolution
before
worded
to
mr.
Darryl
Tony
flora,
introduced
at
a
regular
meeting
of
the
Council
of
Columbus
Georgia,
held
on
third
day
of
January
2017
and
adopted
at
set
meeting
by
affirmative
vote
of
ten
members
of
council
bouff
adoption.
All.
L
Thank
you,
madam
I,
want
to
thank
you,
the
governing
body,
one
especially
thank
ex
Commissioner
Huff
and
my
extended
family
back
here
for
their
support
throughout
the
years.
I
won't
thank
the
citizens
for
the
opportunity
to
serve
them
after
serving
20
years
in
the
military
and
transitioning
to
local
government.
It
was
a
big
challenge.
L
It
was
a
step
young,
a
lot
of
things
you
had
to
learn
and
a
lot
of
things
you
have
to
forget
and
I
won't
think
miss
her
for
her
patience
and
while
I
transitioned
from
soldier
to
a
civilian
I
want
to
miss
it.
I
can't
lie
on
that,
but
at
the
same
time,
I
have
plans
and
I
want
to
just
continue
those
and
do
the
best
I
can
whip
whip.
Those
up
again.
L
B
N
Well,
Tony
from
the
bottom
of
my
heart,
I'm
very
happy
for
you,
but
very
sad.
Let's
see
you
go,
you've
been
always
there
for
me
when
I
needed
ever
since
the
start
of
being
on
counsel
and
I.
Wish
you
all
the
best
in
what
you
do.
I'm
gonna,
truly,
truly
miss
you,
but
I
know
your
wife
will
be
happy
to
have
you
more
around
and
to
be
able
to
share
that
special
time
with
you.
But
thank
you
very
much
for
everything
you've
done
for
me
and
our
citizens
I
appreciate
it.
Thank.
F
Usually
throw
a
lot
of
extra.
Thank
you
down
there,
but
I'm
gonna
make
an
exception
because
I
kind
of
latched
on
to
Tony
the
Tax
Commissioner
does
an
amazing
job
at
responding.
But
for
some
reason,
zeroed
in
on
you
and
asked
you
a
ton
of
questions,
you
always
came
through
the
answers
for
that
I
know:
you're
grateful
that
you're
no
longer
having
to
do
that
and
I'm
grateful
that
you
did
it
I.
Just
won't.
F
Tell
you
personally,
thank
you
and
let
you
know
that
your
professionalism
and
your
smile
made
me
think,
no
matter
what
we
were
dealing
with
a
good
result
was
possible.
Well,
you're,
going
to
be
missed
and
I,
don't
think
the
folks
in
Columbus
realized
just
how
much
they're
going
to
miss
you,
but
we're
grateful
for
what
you
did
and
personally
Thank
You.
H
Want
to
say
thank
you,
you
were
always
been
there
for
me,
no
matter
what
I
ask
something.
Somebody
that's
crazy,
but
you
don't
take
it
like
that.
You
make
us
feel
like
we're
asking
good
questions.
You
always
come
in
with
a
good
answer
and
you
help
the
citizens
every
time
we
call
you
you
didn't
say
well,
you
can
tell
I
miss.
You
always
took
it
upon
yourself
to
call
the
citizens
and
talk
with
them
meet
with
them.
I
feel
sorry
for
the
tax
office.
I
feel
sorry
for
the
Tax
Commissioner,
but.
N
B
Got
councillor
Allen
Thank.
O
You
mayor,
like
several
other
councillors,
have
said
you
were
always
there
and
that
that's
a
true
attribute
to
your
office
and
to
you
it
no
matter
how
many
times
we
ask
a
question.
You
were
always
making
us
feel
like
that's
the
first
time,
you've
heard
it
and
I'm
sure
you
got
it
from
other
councillors,
but
I
know
sometimes
I
know
one
or
two
times
I
had
questions
that
I
had
never
heard
before
since
I've
been
on
council,
but
you
knew
the
answer
right
away
and
was
always
there
when
I
called
I.
O
Just
won't,
let
you
know
how
much
I
appreciate
you
appreciate
you
being
there
on
the
other
end
of
that
phone,
when
I
need
help,
and
that's
a
tribute
to
the
leadership
that
you
work
with,
and
the
co-workers
and
I.
Thank
all
the
offers
support
you've,
given
him
in
and
to
his
wife
as
well
you're
gonna
be
missed.
Thank
you.
Thank
you
for
all.
You've
done,
Thank
You
councillor.
J
Davis
Chief
Deputy
tax,
commission
or
should
I,
say,
retired
chief,
wait,
I'll
just
say
Tony
Tony
I,
just
let
it
be
let
it
be
heard
tonight
that
the
citizens
of
district
2
truly
thank
you
and
appreciate
all
your
hard
work
and
efforts
over
the
world.
Excuse
me
over
the
throughout
the
city
and
throughout
your
tenure
with
this
government
and
and
I
think
that
when
we,
when
we
talk
about
leadership,
you
exemplify
that
Tony
and
you've
always
been
there.
If
there's
somebody
ever
has
a
problem
or
ever
had
a
problem,
you
just
knew
that
was
soft.
J
A
P
Mean
this
guy
thought
he
was
just
treating
me
really
special,
but
you
know,
and
but
thank
you
for
your
service
and
for
what
you've
done
for
for
everybody,
the
citizens,
my
wife,
you
know
she's
like
oh,
no,
my
sister
is
like.
Oh
no,
and
so
obviously
you
have
touched-
and
you
were
touching
people
all
over
this
community
in
your
special
way,
because
I
mean
just
throughout
with
staff.
P

L
B
H
And
she's
also
a
delta
where's,
mrs.

in
the
Tax
commissioner's
office,
retired
from
the
service
of
consolidated
government
on
December

of
2016,
whereas
miss
Sullivan
has
given
seven
and
a
half
years
in
service
to
the
citizens
of
Columbus
and
the
officials
of
this
government
where
she
has
worked
to
make
the
Tax
commissioner's
office
run
in
a
smooth
and
efficient
manner.
She
was
a
great
team
member
always
willing
to
help
don't
her
fellow
employees,
she
displayed
patience
and
generosity
with
both
her
team
members
and
the
citizens
of
Columbus.
H
She
spearheaded
the
office
fundraising
campaign
for
breast
cancer
awareness.
She
also
saw
several
office
events
and
improve
employee
morale
and
camaraderie
where's.
The
service
of
Miss
Brown
Rose,
Brown
Sullivan,
is
where
the

therefore

talking
about
resolves.
We
hereby
commend
and
congratulate
mrs.
Rose
Brown
Sullivan
upon
her
retirement
from
the
Tax
commissioner's
office
on
December

H
2016
Columbus
deeply
appreciates
her
dedicated
service
to
her
team,
our
citizens
and
all
officials
on
the
Columbus

and
we
wish
her
Everett
happiness
in
her
talent
before
I
get
to
the
part
where
both
Rose
is
always
been
very
special
to
me.
I
love
her
for
she
worked
started
working
the
Tax
commissioner's
office,
not
only
being
a
sorority
sisters
but
she's
that
kind
of
person
that
once
you
meet
up,
you
can't
help,
but
like
and
anytime
Schneider
had
a
attack
question
all
I
had
to
do.
H
This
I
call
rose
ground,
Sullivan
loan
and
she
answered
no
matter
how
many
times
I
call
that
she
was
always
there
and
I
just
say
the
Tax
commissioner's
office.
We
miss
you
and
I'm,
not
a
tax
commissioner.
We
miss
you
but
to
the
Tax
Commissioner.
Thank
you
for
having
employees
who
care
about
citizens
and
I'll
move
this
adoption.
N
Q
K
Q
Talked
so
soft
I
think
she
didn't
hear
it
beneath
it.
It's
been
great
Tony.
Thank
you
for
having
my
back.
When
things
were
rough
or
something
I
didn't
know,
he
was
always
there.
I
could
always
call
upon
him,
and
I
am
just
a
people
person
anyway,
so
that
made
the
job
a
whole
lot
easier
for
me,
but
I'm
gonna
read
them
well,.
D
Brown,
thank
you
for
all
of
your
service
for
the
consolidated
government
and
the
citizens
of
Columbus.
But
for
me
a
personal
thank
you
because
you've
supported
me
and
everything
I've
ever
done
from
business
to
marriage,
to
everything
you
always
there
always
been
a
cheerleading
or
cheerleader
saying
you
can
do
it.
You
all
look
good
together,
you
out
the
other
night.
Stick
to
it.
You
know
you
all
work
well
together.
Just
always
something
positive
that
you
have
to
say
so
a
lot
of
times.
D
B
N
S
And
Rose
I
just
simply
want
to
say
publicly
to
these
two
individuals.
Thank
you
for
the
outstanding
job
that
they've
done.
It's
not
necessary
for
me
to
say
anything
else,
because
every
single
one
of
you
represent
all
of
the
citizens
of
Muscogee,
County
and
you've
said
and
acknowledge
the
hard
work
that
they
both
do,
and
it's
exemplary
and
I
can't
say
anything.
But
thank
you.
Thank
you.
S
Thank
you
to
them
in
their
own
respects
and
to
each
and
every
member
of
our
team,
those
that
could
be
here
with
us
today
and
those
that
could
not
so
on
behalf
of
the
office
once
again,
I
publicly
say
thank
you
to
both
of
you
for
your
outstanding
leadership,
your
dedication,
your
hard
work,
each
and
every
day
for
every
single
one
of
our
citizens.
Thank
you
so
much
for
giving
us
the
opportunity
to
serve
you.
Thank.
H
B
Next,
we
have
our
unity
month.
Proclamation
I
want
to
ask
everyone
on
the
mayor's
Commission
for
unity,
diversity
and
prosperity
and
those
involved
in
unity.
Months
to
please
come
forward.
I
know:
we've
lost
pastor
flakes
had
to
leave.
We
had
several
others
that
had
to
leave
because
we
started
a
little
later
than
we
thought
we
would.
B
But
you
all
come
on
up
and
and
Gloria
appreciate
you
all
being
here,
go
ahead
and
read
the
proclamation,
whereas
in
Columbus
Georgia
January
is
celebrated
as
unity
month
in
tribute
to
the
work
of
dr.
Martin,
Luther
King
and
his
efforts
to
promote
civil
rights
and
to
bring
about
social
change
for
disenfranchised
individuals
and
whereas
through
service
projects,
worship,
services
or
in
or
educational
programs.
Many
organizations
honor
the
principles
of
dr.
King
that
dr.
B
King
espoused,
whereas
those
programs
presented
or
organizations
who
have
had
a
desire
to
serve
and
a
spirit
of
unity
have
included
those
houses
of
worship
who
have
hosted
the
January
1
emancipation
proclamation
services,
the
hosts
of
various
MLK
unity
services,
those
who
have
sponsored
community
cleanup
campaigns,
Alpha
Phi,
Alpha,
the
fraternity,
Martin
Luther,
Martin,
Luther,
King,
jr.,
Midtown,
incorporated
with
its
building
common
ground
series,
WT
V
M,
and
it's
telecast
of
community
diversity
forums
and
the
MLK.
The
dream,
lives,
unity,
processional
and
commemorative
event,
sponsored
by
the
mayor's
Commission
on
unity,
diversity
and
prosperity.
B
And
whereas
dr.
Martin,
Luther
King,
said
quote,
everybody
can
be
great
because
anybody
can
serve.
You
only
need
a
heart
full
of
grace
and
we're
as
citizens
of
Columbus
Georgia
are
encouraged
to
support
the
work
of
and
individuals
dedicated
to
promoting
the
causes
of
unity
and
service,
as
exemplified
in
the
teachings
and
the
ministry
of
dr.
Martin
Luther
King
jr..
Now,
therefore,
I
Teresa,
Pike
Tomlinson,
mayor
of
Columbus
Georgia,
do
hereby
proclaim
January
2017
as
unity
month.
Let's
give
him
a
round
of
applause.
B
R
Mayor
mayor,
pro-tem
councillors
and
city
manager,
ve
also
ready,
I,
didn't
know
that
I
was
going
to
be
here
today,
but
thank
you
so
much
Evelyn
for
the
opportunity
to
hold
a
Bible
for
your
square
and
then
we
do
appreciate
that
and
on
behalf
of
every
last
one
of
the
sponsors
of
the
unity
celebration,
we
accept
this
proclamation
and
so
excited
to
recruit.
Other
members
who
did
not
know
that
they
were
going
to
be
here
to
help
except
the
Girl
Scout
motto
is
to
be
prepared.
B
All
right,
I
believe
that
that
concludes
our
agenda
for
this
resolution.
Proclamation
and
business
session
of
the
Columbus
City
Council
will
meet
again
next
week
and
at
this
time,
I'll
entertain
a
motion
to
adjourn
and
I'll.
Take
that
as
a
second
from
councilor
Woodson,
all
those
in
favor,
please
state
aye,
all
right.
We
are
adjourned,
see
you
next
week.
