B
Everyone
and
welcome
to
the
April
3rd
meeting
of
the
Columbus
City
Council.
This
is
our
proclamation
and
resolution
session.
This
is
a
time
when
we
come
together
and
recognize
people
who
are
so
very
special
in
our
community.
Those
who
are
servant,
leaders
who
have
given
back
you
all
are
doing
remarkable
things
out
there
and
we
want
to
make
sure
that
you
know
that
we
appreciate
you
and
so
that's
what
this
session
is
about
for
those
who
are
watching
at
home
or
who
are
watching
via
live
stream
on
our
Columbus
GA
org.
B
This
chamber
is
full
tonight,
and
that
tells
you
how
much
we
have
how
much
support
we
have
of
our
citizens
here
in
this
community.
So
thank
you
all
for
all
that
you
do
we're
gonna
go
ahead
and
get
started.
We
always
have
some
folks
that
help
us
out.
Let
me
get
my
agenda
here.
We've
got
pastor
Vince
Allen,
with
the
bridge
Church
of
Columbus
Georgia,
we're
gonna,
ask
pastor
Allen
to
come
forward,
he's
going
to
provide
us
with
the
invocation
this
evening,
consistent
with
his
faith,
tradition,
hello,
sir.
C
Afternoon
Columbus
Georgia,
madam
mayor
members
of
the
council,
and
also
to
all
of
our
city,
now
welcome
to
the
City
Council
meeting
this
evening.
Let
us
have
a
word
of
Prayer.
Most
gracious
God
our
Father,
we're
very
grateful
for
this
day
for
life
and
health
and
strength.
We
appreciate
that
father
for
the
opportunity
to
come
and
to
celebrate
the
accomplishments,
the
milestones,
the
worthy
deeds
of
servanthood
that
many
of
our
citizens
have
rendered
to
our
city
Father.
C
We
pray
that
we
remember
the
words
of
our
Savior
that
he
that
would
be
the
greatest
amongst
us
would
be
the
greatest
servant.
So
father.
We
pray
that
we
move
from
rendering
lip
service
to
rendering
true
service
that
we
do
our
best
to
make
our
city
a
better
place
and
father.
We
pray
for
our
leadership
that,
as
we
enter
a
season
of
transition,
your
word
says
that
you
will
lift
up
one
and
you'll
bring
down
another.
C
That
promotion
comes
not
from
the
east
or
the
west,
but
it
comes
from
you
and
as
new
council
members
come
into
these
chambers
to
deliberate
about
our
city,
we
pray
for
wisdom.
We
pray
for
insight.
We
pray
father
that
they
will
guide
this
city
with
the
citizens
in
mind.
So
Lord.
We
just
ask
you
to
be
with
us
to
keep
us,
as
only
you
can,
to
guide
us
in
ways
that
we
could
only
imagine
you
could
do.
We
ask
this
prayer
in
the
precious
name
of
our
Savior
Jesus,
amen,
amen,.
B
B
Right,
we
have
a
real
treat
tonight.
We've
got
the
double
churches
elementary
school
is
here
and
they
are
ready
to
go
so
we're
going
to
ask
you
all
to
come
forward.
T
Asha
has
a
microphone
for
you.
If
you
guys
would
gather
they're
the
clerk's
desk
and
as
they
assemble,
if
you
all
withstand
and
prepare
for
them
to
lead
us
in
the
Pledge
of
Allegiance.
E
B
H
E
B
D
B
B
All
right:
well,
we
start
off
this
evening
in
a
sense,
it's
it's
a
somber
note
for
us,
because
we
are
at
a
loss
without
one
of
our
brightest
servants,
but
at
the
same
time,
it's
a
blessing
for
a
life
well-lived
and
and
service,
given
so
selflessly.
We're
here
tonight
to
recognize
the
life
of
doctor
and
Hardman.
Her
family
is
here
tonight
and
I
want
to
call
the
Hardman's
forward
all
the
Hartman
family
and
friends
that
are
here
and
and
I
think
that
there's
also
some
folks
from
the
clerk's
office.
B
B
Be
careful
what
you
ask
for,
and
we
have
the
fire
marshal
in
the
house,
so
I'm
going
to
ask
him
to
close
his
eyes
at
this
at
this
point.
But
doesn't
this
tell
you
something
right
here
who
dr.
Ann
Hartmann
was.
She
was
not
only
a
selfless
servant
in
her
call
to
spread
the
word
of
the
Lord,
but
she
also,
of
course,
was
a
constitutional
officer
of
this
County.
She
was
our
clerk
of
Superior
Court.
B
She
had
never
run
for
office
before
and
she
ran
and
it
was
a
tremendous
sight
to
see.
People
responded
to
her
to
her
leadership
and
what
she
has
done
for
our
clerk's
office
in
a
relatively
short
period
of
time.
Less
than
two
years
has
transformed
it,
and
so
Norman
Norman
Hartmann
Hartmann.
Of
course,
her
whole
family
here,
I'm
gonna,
ask
you
all
to
introduce
yourself,
maybe
not
everybody,
but
we've
got
Shasta
Glover
here
who's,
representing,
of
course,
all
of
her
helpers
in
the
Superior
Court
Clerk's
office.
B
K
Allons
there,
especially
I,
knew
before
she
married
Norman,
Louisa
sitting
in
the
car
next
to
each
other
at
4th
Street.
She
could
see
I
just
shot
but
from
the
first
day
I
met
and
she
never
changed.
We
got
so
what
title
she
had.
We
got
some
weather,
what
the
circumstance
whoa
whoa.
She
was
always
the
same
and
then
I
met
the
first
time
and
I
want
to
say:
I
have
been
truly
blessed.
K
Thomas
Christian
College
in
Jacksonville
Florida
West,
and
will
be
remembered
as
a
woman
of
integrity
and
unyielding
faith
who
was
committed
to
her
family
church
families,
local
government
and
community.
Whereas
dr.
and
L
Hartmann
is
survived
by
her
husband
of
33
years,
Norman
E,
Hartman
senior
for
children,
Christa
grant
faith
based
on
Tony
Michael,
Grant,
Jr,
Dana,
chastity,
Hartman,
Smith,
DeMarcus
and
Norman
Hartman,
jr.,
Anna,
eight
grandchildren,
two
siblings
and
three
stepchildren.
Now
a
counselor
Columbus
Georgia
give
our
resolves.
K
L
L
She
was
not
just
someone
who
went
into
the
game,
but
she
was
a
game
changer.
So
as
we
commemorate
her,
the
best
thing
we
can
do
is
to
allow
the
words
that
were
put
into
the
hearts
and
the
minds
to
live
on.
This
is
a
good
start
for
commemoration
and
good
start
for
memories,
but
memories
live
when
action
takes
place,
so
Columbus
could
be
a
more
integral
displace
place
of
change
and
a
place
of
character.
So
thank
you
for
these
moments,
but
most
of
all
thank
you
for
allowing
her
to
be
the
servant.
L
B
Knowing
we've
got
a
few
folks,
obviously
want
to
say
some
words
and
but
I
do
want
you
to
introduce
your
family,
real,
quick
if
you
just
point
out
because
there's
a
whole
bunch
of
folks,
but
we
rattled
off
the
the
kids
names
and
the
the
in-laws
and
the
grandkids.
Maybe
you
just
point
to
them
and
let
them
wave
their
hands.
So
we
can
put
a
name
and
a
face.
Well.
L
L
M
L
Hardman
as
well,
let's
see
who
do
we
have
oh
yeah,
okay,
we
have
Bryson
Bryson
Smith,
that's
my
grandchild
as
well.
I
think
that's
always
up
here
and
we
and
we
have
a
whole
host
of
church
family.
We
have
a
whole
host
of
family
and
friends
that
have
supported
us
over
the
years
and
we
want
to
just
say
thank
you
for
allowing
her
to
be
a
servant
in
your
lives
as
well.
Can't
call
all
the
names,
but
your
faces
represent
your
love
for
her.
So
thank
you
for
coming.
L
B
Know
Norman
as
I
kick
it
over
to
some
of
the
the
counselors.
You
know.
Ann
was
just
here
here
before
counsel,
just
like
two
and
a
half
months
ago,
she
came
to
give
a
report,
you
know
and
says
she
was
serving
to
the
very
end
about
something
that
was,
you
know
an
important
and
controversial
and
community,
and
she
came
to
calm
people's
anxieties
to
let
them
know
things
were
running
fine
that
she
had.
This
answered
council's
questions
it's
just
just
weeks
ago
really.
D
B
N
To
the
family,
I
offer
my
condolences
again
keeping
prayer
at
all
times
to
your
sons
and
I
had
conversation
at
an
event
where
Anne
was
present,
and
we
had
a
deep
conversation
about
how
hard
she
was
working,
what
she
was
doing
and
please
keep
an
eye
out
on
her
and
take
care
of,
and
they
always
kept
close
eyes
on
her
close
tabs.
But
what
I
wanted
to
say
to
everyone?
It
was
one
of
the
most
beautiful
celebrations.
I
have
ever
seen.
N
O
P
Normand,
family,
you
and
I
haven't
talked
very
much
but
Anna
and
I
did
and
I
just
want
to.
Let
the
family
know
she's
an
angel
in
all
our
hearts
and
she
will
live
forever
at
the
ceremony.
You
could
feel
her
spirit
there.
You
knew
she
was
there.
You
knew
she
was
singing.
You
knew
she
was
having
joy
to
see
that
we
were
celebrating
her
life
and
I
just
wanted
to
know
that
you
will
always
be
in
my
prayers,
the
family,
because
she
was
such
an
angel
to
me.
P
P
And
at
the
end
of
the
day,
she
was
more
than
just
a
friend
to
a
lot
of
people.
She
was
a
mother.
She
was
an
angel,
a
sister
and
aunt
whatever
you
want
to
call
her,
but
she's
very
special
when
she
will
live
on
forever,
because
her
legacy
will
live
on
through
her,
your
family
and
your
church
members,
and
thank
you
for
letting
me
be
a
part
of
that.
So
I
truly
appreciate
being
there.
R
Know
often
when
we
lose
someone,
people
say
why
didn't
she
wonderfully?
She
did
all
these
great
things
and
when
they
say
that
about
dr.
Hardman,
it's
the
truth.
It's
not
just
the
thing
to
say
in
a
situation
like
that,
she
was
always
willing
to
do
whatever
needed
to
be
done
to
make
sure
that
the
job
got
done
and
she
was
willing
to
help
you
do
that.
R
She
prayed
with
me
one
time
when
I
really
needed
somebody
to
do
that
and
I
will
never
forget
it.
Thank
you.
So
much
for
sharing
her
with
us
I
know
that
sometimes
in
these
kinds
of
situations
the
family
feels
like
mom's,
not
home.
Tonight
she's
had
to
go
do
well.
We
thank
you
and
we
appreciate
that
and
I
know
that
in
the
years
to
come,
you're
going
to
be
able
to
sit
there
and
say
my
mom.
My
mom
did
that
thank
you
again
and
know
that
you
have
our
deepest
condolences.
R
S
You,
madam
mayor,
and
to
dr.
Hartman's
family,
just
want
to
thank
you
for
the
time
that
we
were
able
to
spend
with
her
from
the
day
we'll.
Actually
you
know,
prior
to
her
actually
taking
the
oath
of
office.
I
had
the
opportunity
to
meet
with
her
and
she
set
the
course
the
direction
for
that
office
and
from
the
day
that
she
took
office,
I,
went
down
to
her
office
and
I
had
staff
to
go,
see
her
at
our
office
to
determine
you
know.
S
What
is
it
you
want,
you
know,
is
it
furniture
you
want
your
office
painted
you,
we
just
have
the
opportunity
to
work
together
and
up
until
the
very
end
I
mean
the
week
before.
I
was
on
the
phone
with
her
and
we
were
getting
things
done
and
and-
and
that
is
when
she
said
that
Shasta
Glover
is
the
person
she
wants
to
run
that
office,
but
she
was
a
game
changer.
She
made
a
difference
in
that
office.
I
enjoy
every
opportunity,
I
had
to
work
with
her.
S
She
certainly
made
a
difference
in
this
government
in
the
city
and
and
as
I
was
sitting
here.
Thinking
and
listening
to
others
and
and
no
disrespect
to
any
ministers,
but
in
the
old
council
chambers
downtown
in
the
government
center,
she
is
the
only
minister
who
has
ever
come
to
stand
at
that
podium
to
bring
invocation
that
brought
tears
to
my
eyes.
Ever
in
all
of
my
years.
A
city
manager
and
I'll
never
forget
that
day.
I,
remember
I,
think
the
the
deltas
may
have
been
there,
but
people
the
audience
had
read
only.
S
And-
and
she
talked
about,
she
was
trying
to
make
it
to
the
council
chamber
as
it
was
a
5:30
meeting
and
she
got
stopped
by
every
traffic
signals.
Some
of
you
may
remember
that,
but
she
brought
on
a
prayer
at
that
podium
that
I
could
not
hold
my
peace,
and
that
is
the
only
time
that
has
ever
happened
in
all
of
my
years
of
sitting
in
this
chair.
It
was
a
powerful,
powerful
prayer,
and
so
I
want
to
share
that
with
you
and
thank
you
for
her
and
God
bless
each
of
you.
You.
B
B
D
D
T
It's
kind
of
funny
that
councillor
Thomas
said
that
about
the
prayer,
because
the
main
memories
I
have
are
the
campaign
trail.
We
ran
together
and
she
didn't
know
me.
She
knew
that
Norman
knew
me
young
Norman,
cuz.
We
served
in
the
wipey
board
and
there
we're
friends
and
I
guess
you
had
told
her
some
nice
things
about
me
because
she
it
was.
It
was
crazy.
T
The
sense
that
God
had
given
her
of
when
she
need
to
help
people
because
she
would
just
come
up
at
the
middle
of
nowhere
and
it
was
when
I
was
freaking
out.
I
was
putting
on
a
calm
face
and
she
would
just
come
up
and
hug
me
and
just
say
it's
gonna
be
fine.
You're
gonna
do
fine
you're
doing
a
great
job
and
it
was
like
she
didn't
do
it
all
the
time
it
was
only
when
I
really
really
needed
it
and
that's
a
gift
that
I
I
know.
T
God
is
not
completely
taken
away
because
I
know
her
family.
Has
that
I
mean
Norman's
like
that
and
now
know
everyone
else
in
the
family,
but
I
know
y'all
are
all
y'all
on
dad
with
that
gift.
I
hope
you
will
carry
that
out
because
dr.
hard
when
she
was
something
special
and
you
all
have
a
huge
legacy
that
I
know
y'all
are
gonna,
carry
on
well
we're
gonna,
miss.
B
U
N
My
alpha
brother
to
my
alpha
brother,
for
those
of
you
all
that
know
when
people
send
out
brochures
and
things
to
order
paraphernalia
and
things
like
this.
If
you
would
not
paying
attention
at
his
mother's
celebration,
he
had
two
black
and
gold
tie
and
the
hanky
set
straight
out
the
Celt
law.
He
represented
alpha
well
that
day,
so
I
just
wanted
to
acknowledge
you
and
let
you
know
that
the
brothers
are
thinking
about
you
all.
B
H
B
As
you
can
see,
a
faithful
public
servant
so
so
appropriate
that
we
remember
her
at
this
time
and
we
want
to
move
on
in
our
schedule.
We've
got
so
many
folks
here
that
do
so
much
for
our
community.
We
have
a
proclamation
here
for
we're
going
to
ask
Andrea,
Daniel
Teresa
Wiley
to
come
forward
for
sexual
assault
support
center
day
and
we're
going
to
have
a
mayor.
Pro-Tem
read
this
special
Proclamation.
K
K
If
they
s,
they
will
not
turn
anyone
away
and
whereas
the
City
of
Columbus
supports
the
work
of
our
local,
it's
the
SC
chapter
and
recognizes
the
importance
of
educating
our
community
and
sexual
violence
prevention.
Now,
therefore,
Teresa
Teresa
Pike,
Tomlinson,
Merrill,
Columbus
joy
to
him
I've
claimed
Tuesday
April
3rd
is
sexual
assault.
Support
center
day.
J
Well,
the
biggest
the
biggest
thing
that
we
have
for
our
community
is
the
fact
that
we
do
not
turn
anyone
away
that
has
been
victimized.
We
make
sure
that
we
offer
any
of
our
services
to
anyone
that
expresses
their
need,
whether
they
report
or
not,
to
our
law
enforcement.
We
still
provide
the
services
in
hopes
to
take
them
from
victim
status
to
a
survivor
status.
So
we
just
ask
the
community
to
continue
to
encourage
the
citizens
to
utilize
this
service
when
they
are
victimized.

Now,
therefore,
Theresa

This
year's
National

theme
is
libraries,

Columbus
area,
librarians
and
librarians
have
been
leading
leaders
in
the
valley
for
over
a
hundred
years,
Columbus
was
the
recipient
of
a
Carnegie

1902
camp
Benning
established
just
up
the
road
on
Macon
in
1917
included
a
library
that
had
been
started
with
20
books
donated
by
General
Arthur

to
the
school
of

in
1913,
the
4th

Now
military

Besides
these

these

Muskogee

have
libraries
that
enrich
children's
education
from
pre-k

I
hope
you

all
have
library
cards
too.
Thank.
B
You
very
much
wonderful,
well,
thank
you
for
what
you
do
if
you
ever
walk
into
any
of
our
libraries.
It's
just
amazing
that
how
it's
being
used
and
in
fact,
I
had
a
gentleman
who
sent
me
an
email
early
on
in
my
term,
saying
something
to
the
effect
of
well
I.
Just
think
we
spend
too
much
money
on
libraries
and
nobody's
ever
there
and
I'm
like
sir.
That
only
tells
me
you
have
never
been
to
one
of
our
libraries.

continued
dedication

Mayor,
thank
you
I,
just
like
to
congratulate
Owen
and
his
family
and
his
teacher
and
his
principal,
and
just
based
on
what
I've
heard
about
you,
just
just
in
the
last
few
minutes,
I'd
like
to.
If
your
principal
says
it's
okay
and
your
parents
say
it's
okay,
I'd
like
to
send
CCG
TV
people
out
to
your
school,
to
interview
you
so
that
we
can
play
it
back
on
CCTV,
yeah.

have

We
also
have
Becca

Our
administrative
clerk
here
with
us
today,
and
this
week
we
are
celebrating
our
2018
national

week
is
celebrated
nationally
for
the
last
two
years.
We
have
won
the
competition
here
for
Columbus
Georgia,
so
we're
looking
to
continue
that
pattern.
This
week
we
highlight
our
partners
in
the
community,
so
we
have
several
events
we
have
placed
before
you
the
schedule
of
events
for
this
week,
Monday
April
2nd,
which
was
yesterday.
X
We
had
a
let's
talk
about
blight.
We
had
an
interview
with
our
inspections
and
code
director
Tuesday,
which
is
today
April
3rd
2018.
We
are
here
in
the
council
chambers
receiving
the
proclamation.
We
also
had
a
career
fair
for
at-risk
youth
over
at
Columbus
State
University
tomorrow,
Wednesday
April
4th
we're
gonna
have
spotlight
we're
gonna
go
around
we're
gonna.
Do
social
media
spotlight
through
the
community
with
some
of
our
partners,
so
we
have
several
organizations
scheduled
access
to
independence,
Habitat
for
Humanity
mercy,
men
and
open
door,
community
house.
Those
are
some
of
our
partners
here.
X
In
the
community
so
we'll
be
on
Facebook
live
tomorrow.
So
if
you
would
follow
our
facebook
page
at
CCG,
Community
Reinvestment
follow
us
and
share
our
pick.
Our
photos
and
our
Facebook
live
shoots.
Thursday,
April
5th,
we'll
have
a
speed
networking
event
where
we
invite
different
organizations
from
the
community
to
do
speed.
Networking
will
get
for
me
with
several
organizations
and
people
within
those
organizations
on
Friday
we'll
have
a
cleanup
event
at
Bradley
circle.
In
our
city,
Village
area.
B
What
you
do
it's
really
amazing,
how
many
folks
this
touches.
You
know
the
grants
that
come
through
the
community
block
development
grants.
You
know
people
just
don't
realize
I,
don't
know
where
they
think
the
money
comes
from
or
well
where
the
effort
and
help
comes
from.
So
we
appreciate
this
opportunity
to
shine
a
light
on
it
to
show
people.
Let
them
connect
the
dots.
Okay.
Thank
you
all,
and
yes,
would
you
like
to
introduce
yourself.

P
Thomas

and
other

organization
partner
with
a
memorial
service
will
ask
the
citizens
of
Columbus
Georgia
joined
the
congregation
of
forgiving
hard
Christian
Community
Church
in
celebrating
30
years
of
ministry.
In
this
city.
Now
therefore,
I
Teresa
Pike
Thomas
and
mayor
of
Columbus
Georgia
to
hereby
proclaim
Tuesday
April
3rd
2018
as
forgiving
hard
Christian
Community
Church
day.
Y
Privileged
the
pastor
of
this
church,
it's
a
small
church
I've
been
their
pastor
for
well
20
years
as
of
last
month
and
we're
small,
but
we
do
a
lot
of
things.
We
do
things
not
only
for
the
GLBT
community,
but
for
the
community
in
general,
as
we
we
have
a
ministry
that
goes
to
one
of
the
local
nursing
homes
and
does
a
sing-along
with
the
residents
they
don't
know
who
we
are,
will
just
remove
people
that
come
and
help
them
have
a
good
time
singing
and
praising
God.
One
thing
I'd
like
to
express
they.
Y
When
we
did
the
memorial
service,
there
was
not
only
Christian
churches
there
that
was
representatives
from
the
Muslim
community
from
the
there's
a
Buddhist
there,
I
mean
all
over
the
cross,
the
whole
Jenna
spectrum
and
as
I
was
talking
with
someone
and
telling
them
about
how
I
felt
that
we
need
to
concentrate
more
on
how
we
are
alike
rather
than
our
differences.
That's
that's.
The
only
way
we're
going
to
get
get
along
and
I
noticed
this
lady
with
the
headdress
on
was
watching
and
when
I
finished
talking.
Y
D
O
O
Definitive
thing
is
that
I
guess
it's
just
big
in
South
as
itself
if
the
people
are
just
earthy
but
I
wanted
I
told
my
wife
that
dumb
that
you
won't
have
the
church
anniversary
we've
enjoyed
ourselves
the
times
that
we'll
come
to
the
church
and
if
anyone
goes
to
the
church,
you
better
bring
an
appetite
because
they
so
Dale
and
I
have
to
check
my
calendar.
If
we're
free,
my
wife
and
I
will
be
there
and
I
will
be
bringing
an
appetite
with
me
where.
B
O
H
B
I
Sure
in
recognition
of
National
Crime
Victims
Rights
week
and
all
that
we
still
have
to
achieve,
we
would
like
to
inform
the
public
of
some
of
our
upcoming
activities.
Throughout
the
month
we
have
joined
with
Columbus
Police
Department's,
dare
unit
to
educate
our
high
school
students
on
the
dangers
of
distracted
driving.
I
Next
Wednesday
there
will
be
a
Lunch
and
Learn
at
the
main
library,
where
we
release
the
findings
of
a
domestic
violence
related
fatality
and
discuss
positive
ways
that
the
community
can
intervene
to
prevent
tragedies
of
this
nature.
On
Thursday
we
will
transport
victims,
families
to
meet
with
the
Georgia
Office
of
Pardons
and
Parole.
I
This
is
an
opportunity
for
them
to
meet,
face
to
face
with
parole,
board
members
and
ask
questions
about
the
offender
who
victimized
them,
such
as
a
release
date
and
what
they
can
do
to
prolong
that
we
close
out
the
week
with
our
annual
memorial
on
Saturday
April
14th
at
the
Plaza
level
of
the
government
center.
We
have
an
invitation
for
each
of
you
and
we'll
leave
extras
on
the
back
table
for
anyone
within
earshot
who
might
wish
to
attend.
I
It's
very
important
that
we
some
support
those
victimized
by
crime
and
embrace
every
opportunity
to
make
Columbus
a
safer
community
I'm,
surrounded
by
very
special
individuals
who
have
given
of
their
time
tirelessly
to
help
make
these
events
possible.
They
are
victims,
volunteers
and
staff.
If
each
of
you
will
introduce
yourself
and
give
a
howl
you're
connected,
please
thank
you.

Whereas
child

is
a
serious
and
growing
problem
affecting
more
than
3.2
million
of
our
nation's
children
annually
and
thousands
of
children
locally,
and
whereas
this
vine
of
our
society
that
affects
our

who
are
abused,
neglected

must
be
valued

in

Whereas
the

seats,
your

help
and
those
who
support
and
encourage
family
as
they
seek
to
understand
the
problem,
solving
various
challenges
that
come
with
raising
children,
whereas
the
exchange

of
Columbus
Georgia
through
its
support
of
parent

educational
programs
and
community
service
activities,
is
making
successful
progress
in
educating

Really
appreciate
mayor

support
of
the

Every
time
we
have
a

we
can
always
see
her
there
or
if
we
need
her
to
come
and
speak
she's
always
there,
and
we
really
appreciate
the
support
and
we
have
several
things
going
on
during
the
month
of
April,
and
we
have
our
mascot
here
today
that
is
timeout
teddy
and
if
you
go
to
strut
the
hooch
on
the
Saturday
timeout
Teddy
will
be
there.
AE
We're
also
going
to
be
at
the
Government
Center
for
the
child
abuse
protocol
ceremony,
where
436
pinwheels
will
be
put
out
for
all
the
child
abuse
cases
that
they
have
worked
this
year
and
we
will
be
going
to
LaGrange
to
celebrate
with
other
Georgia
districts.
Not

will
go
to
their

every

We
have
a

you're
all
invited
to
come,

AE
We
have
a
speaker
from
local
organizations
that
work
with
a
child

and
we
provide
them
that
check
from
all
of
our
fundraising
the
hotdogs
pancakes.
We
have
an
upcoming
golf
tournament
also,
but
I'll
turn
it
over
to

who
is
our
chairperson
for
the
child

He
goes
to
all
the

in

he
takes
time
out

I'm
gonna.

We
have
a

and
we
appreciate
all
that
you
do
during
the

your

for
our

I
know
you
are

Now,
therefore,
the
Honorable
mayor
of
Columbus,

does
hereby
proclaim:
Tuesday

as
national

data
City

Name

I'm

my

today,
outside
of

Recreation,
as
the
project
director
for
the
retired
senior
volunteer
program,
is
an
honor
to
have
the
honor
to
stand
here
with
these
great
volunteers,
as
we
recognize
them
for
the
great
things
they
do
in
Columbus.
As
read
in
the
proclamation,
there
is
a
huge
economic
impact
of
volunteerism,
and
these,
ladies
behind
me,
and
the
100-plus
other
volunteers
go
above
and
beyond,
for
this
community
each
and
every
day,
so
it's
not
to
be
able
to
recognize
them
today.
Thank.

Ladies,

There
was
a

I

I

Looking
at
it
and
oh
there
I
thought,
maybe
there's
another
type
of
an
8th
grader
did
a
social
space
project
with
all
this
research
about.
You
know
school
and
leisure
activities
and
disabilities,
and
that's
just
absolutely
incredible
and
you're
way
way
beyond
your
grade
level.
T
After-School
and
leisure
activities
currently
provide
for
kids

within

in

are

Primarily,
word

mouth
is
the
main
sources
of
information
for
the
program's
benefiting
youth
with
special
needs,
and
whereas
this
sparked
Ron's
interest
to
create
the
dash
games
and
whereas
on
March
16th,
the
dash
games
was
sponsored
by

a

As
the

The
purpose
of
the
event
was
to
promote
an
inclusive
environment
for
students
in
middle
school
and
provide
information.

B
AM
Ma'am
well,
as
mr.
Garrett
said,
we,
why,
for
my
social
studies,
fair
project
I
did
want
to
research.
What
all
was
in
the
community
available
for
students
with
disabilities,
especially
around
my
grade
level
and
I,
noticed
that
it
was
really
hard
to
find
a
lot
of
these,
because
I'd
go
to
so
many
places
and
talk
to
a
lot
of
people
throughout
the
city
about
it.
To
get
just
research
done
to
be
able
to
do
the
project
and
I
noticed
how
it
wasn't
easy
to
find
the
information.
AM
So
the
main
purpose
of
the
games
was
to,
of
course,
allows
disabled
students
from
middle
schools
around
the
county.
To
just
come
together
have
a
good
time,
but
at
the
end
we
could
provide
information
as
sort
of
a
centralized
source,
so
all
of
the
activities
that
they
could
be
a
part
of
all
the
like
Special,
Olympics,
Parks
and
Rec
even
add
in
at
corta.
AM
But
we
just
wanted
to
put
together
a
centralized
location
where
we
could
find
all
of
this
information
so
just
to
make
it
more
aware
to
them
and
I
even
went
to
the
mayor's
commission
for
disabled
people's
one
of
the
meetings
recently
and
brought
this
up
and
we're
just
trying
to
get
one
centralized
location.
So
we
can
put
all
the
information
together.

now.
Therefore,
the

does
hereby
proclaim
Tuesday

Recognition
especially
want
to
thank
everyone
in
the
tennis.
That's
over
my
left,
shoulder
who
came
out
to
support
today.
I
couldn't
have
done
that
all
the
things
that
were
just
read
out
without
their
support
I
am
NOT
a
native
of
Columbus
Georgia
after
I
exited
the
military
I
relocated
here
been
here
for
about
two
years,
and
what
I
want
I'm
most
thankful
for
is
that
everyone
in
Columbus
has
really
made
Columbus
feel
home
so
much
so
that
I
bought
a
house.
AQ
I
got
a
great
job
at
Martin,
Army,
Community
Hospital
in
Fort,
Benning
and
I
am
enjoying
it.
I
want
to
take
just
a
brief
second
to
recognize
a
few
organizations
and
a
few
individuals
who've
really
helped
me
along
the
way,
the
organization's
speaking
of
the
pharmacy
team,
our
association,
local
54,
to
Union
on
for
Binney,
who
stuck
in
really
early
and
helped
us
throughout
the
entire
project.
AQ
Over
my
shoulder,
we
have
members
of
the
Kappa
lambda
Cade
military
for
turns
who
who
also,
who
have
worked
with
from
a
previous
project
for
the
last
two
years,
and
then,
of
course,
my
own
fraternity,
Alpha
Phi
fraternity,
several
members
here
today.
No
past
events
Allen
had
to
leave,
but
my
other
brothers
are
here
also
representative
brother
Huff,
also
who
came
in
towards
the
end
of
the
project
and
really
kind
of
put
it
across
the
finish
line.
AQ
And
for
all
the
work
that
we've
done,
I
have
a
special
person
in
audience
who
is
one
of
the
recipients
of
one
of
our
scholarships
and
I'm
going
to
as
she
is
our
Fountain
City
motor
for
our
association,
2018
inaugural
Carnival
Queen,
the
queen
of
Carnival
in
a
Caribbean
nave
herself,
someone
as
Columbus
State,
University
senior,
graduating
senior
DeAndre
Matthews.
If
she
might
stand
up,
I
cannot
I'm
overwhelmed
by
generosity.
AQ
I
want
also
think
MS
Natalie,
who
also
I,
think
put
together
this
packet
that
led
to
this
I
want
to
make
sure
I
recognize
her,
but
overwhelmingly
I'm,
just
honored
body
by
the
opportunity
and
by
the
recognition
I
vowed
to
continue
to
be
active
in
the
gay
citizen,
Colombia
and
I'm
John
working
with
Miss
Mimi.
Who
was
a
participant
in
the
parade
and
she
wrote
the
entire
way
and
we
are
deeply
invested
into
the
for
progress
of
Liberty
District
and
we
enjoyed
it
and
I
just
want
to
say,
God
a
shameless
plug.

all
your

working

we

we

that
they
participate
and
learn
about
giving
back
to
the

and
giving
up
their
time
for
public
service.
So
I
appreciate
all
that
you
do
and
I
wish
I
had
your
energy

Thank
you
for
being
here.
Thank
You.

Because
you
kept
it
alive
tomorrow,
girl
was
beautiful,
especially
at
the
end
of
it.
How
everybody
gathered
around
and
really
celebrate
the
diversity,
the
culture.
It
was
really
really
wonderful
and
I
hope
that
next
year
we
can
publish
it
more
and
more
and
more
and
more
people
can
attend.
You
know:
Columbus
is
a
community
that
embraces
diversity,
sometimes
it's
a
little
slow,
but
when
it
does,
it
does
and
as
we
grow,
and
we
see
so
much
going
on
our
community.
P
We
hope
that
you
continue
the
Mardi,
Gras
and
other
programs
so
that
other
people
can
enjoy
it
and
be
a
part
of
it,
and
thank
you
and
welcome.
When
I
was
in
when
I
came
to,
Columbus
I
fell
in
love
with
it
and
when
I
got
out
of
the
military.
I
made
this
my
home,
and
it's
been
my
home
and
my
family
always
asks
me.
When
am
I
coming
back
and
I
say
when.
AQ
Marsh
please
come
around.
I
would
like,
if
I'd
be
remiss
if
I
did
not
recognize
one
other
individual
who
had
a
significant
role
in
the
parade,
and
that
was
our
inaugural
grand
marshal
and
his
petition
for
trishal
adele
is
in
the
building.
I
saw
her
today
and
she
came
I
didn't
want
to
ask
this.
She
just
waved
her
hand
and
same
thing.
Thank
you
for
that.
She
was
the
first
dignitaries
seen
in
the
parade
behind
a
colorguard,
so
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
for
her
service
great.

The

AR
Is
you
know
what
what
I
do?
What
my
platform
that
I
have?
Is
that
it's
there
for
me
to
help
people
or
to
help
get
the
word
out
about
some
things
you
know
like.
Without
that
platform,
we
couldn't
get
the
word
out
that
the
people
was
burned
down.
The
house
and
who's
out
there
collecting
stuff
or
the
people
in
Albany
had
two
tornadoes.
They
hit
them
and
wiped
out
half
the
city
and
they
the
one
of
the
things
they
needed
was
was
water,
and
you
know
the
people
in
Columbus
they
came
to
that.
AR
AR
O
You
do
and
and
I'd
like
to
thank
you
what
DJ
chip
did.
He
said
you
know
I
really
appreciate
the
military
community,
both
active
and
retired,
and
when
he
does
he
brings,
he
gets
there
to
the
free
side
early
in
the
morning.
He
donates
all
of
his
equipment,
sound
equipment,
everything
tables
and
whatever
to
come
there,
as
well
as
his
talent,
to
show
appreciation
to
the
countless
women
and
men
who
wear
the
uniform
in
the
Armed
Forces,
both
active
and
retired
him.

The
Commission
on
Accreditation
of
allied
health
educational
programs
has
nationally
accredited
612,
paramedic
programs
and
whereas
nationally
Columbus,
Fire
and
EMS
is
one
of
18
fire
and
EMS
based
paramedic
programs
nationally
accredited
in
Georgia.
There
are
27
paramedic
programs
nationally
accredited
and
Columbus.
Fire
EMS
is
one
of
five
fire
and
EMS
based
paramedic
programs
that
is
nationally
accredited,
whereas
the
City
of
Columbus
and
the
command
staff
of
the
Columbus,
Fire
and
EMS
would
like
to
thank
the
training
division
and
especially
captain
Paula
Carter
and
Lieutenant
Larry
Keaton
for
their
outstanding
achievement.
N
This
is
a
testament
to
their
hard
work
and
dedication
to
improve
emergency
service
delivery
to
the
citizens
and
the
City
of
Columbus,
whereas
on
March
16
2018,
Columbus,
Fire

EMS
Academy
became
nationally
accredited
by
CAA
ATP
effective.
Now,
therefore,
Theresa

mayor
of
Columbus
Georgia,
do
hereby
proclaim
Tuesday
April
3rd
2018,
as
Columbus
Fire
and
EMS
day.
B
AU
Ma'am,
thank
you
all
so
much.
This
has
been
an
extreme
honor.
The
accreditation
process
is
long
and
and
very
arduous.
We
started
probably
back
in
2013
is
when
we
actually
started,
and
since
that
time
we've
had
we're
on
our
third
paramedic
program
and
with
accreditation
that
brings
a
higher
standard.
Our
graduates
will
now
be
able
to
say
they
graduated
from
an
accredited
paramedic
program.
The
K
hep
accreditation
is
the
same
accrediting
body
that
accredits
all
our
Allied
Health
Professions,
such
as
dental
hygienists,
respiratory
therapists,
x-ray
technicians
and
also
accredits
the
paramedic
program.
AU
So
for
us
to
be
a
firebase
entity
that
is,
we
don't
have
the
help
of
the
technical
school
as
the
paramedic
programs
that
are
in
the
technical
school
arena
do
so
it
was
a
long
process.
I
credit,
my
coworker
Larry
Keeton,
lieutenant
Keaton.
He
was
instrumental
in
helping
me
with
the
with
the
program
with
the
accreditation
with
all
the
paperwork
that
was
required.
Also,
my
training
chief
tim
smith.
He
was
very
helpful.
AU
He
gave
us
you
know
as
much
support
as
he
could
time
to
spend
on
Accreditation,
which
you
know
was
very
lengthy
and
our
whole
command
staff
has
been
very.
You
know
very
helpful.
We
had
our
site
visit
last
summer
and
it
went
very
well
or
we
wouldn't
be
accredited
they.
They
commended
us
on
our
support
on
our
command
staff
and
with
the
program
so
I'd
like
to
thank
them
as
well,
and
thank
you
City
Council,
for
this
recognition.
It's
awesome
it's
it's!
It's
awesome
for
our
city.
AU
We
are
the
only
paramedic
program
in
the
region,
not
just
Columbus,
but
in
the
region
Columbus
Technical
College.
It
doesn't
have
a
paramedic
program,
CVCC,
none
of
the
other
private
training
institutions.
No
one
else
has
a
paramedic
program,
so
this
is
very
important
for
our
community
for
our
region.
Fantastic.
Thank.
B
AF
AU
Other
thing,
madam
mayor
I'd,
like
to
thank
councillor
Judy
Thomas.
She
has
been
very
supportive
as
well.
She
serves
on
our
advisory
committee
and
she
comes
to
every
meeting
and
she's
been
a
great
support
to
our
program
as
well.
So
thank
you.
Thank
you.
Miss
Judy.
We
appreciate
you
and
love
you
thank.
R
You
and
Mayor
I
wanted
to
say
too
in
those
meetings
in
every
meeting,
I've
been
to
captain
Carter
or
lieutenant
Keaton,
or
somebody
has
said:
how
do
we
make
this
program
better?
How
do
we
get
the
people
who
need
to
have
this
training
through
the
program?
What
assistance
can
we
give?
What
we
need
to
do
to
make
sure
that
Columbus,
Fire
and
EMS
has
the
best
program
and
the
best
paramedics
and
best
EMTs
in
the
region,
and
this
this
national
accreditation?
R
K
AV
Gonna
do
what
I
think
my
command
staff
thinks
I
do
best
is
get
out
of
their
way
and
let
them
get
the
job
done
and
support
them.
I
have
to
thank
every
member
of
council
city
manager,
the
mayor
for
your
support.
We
came
to
you
several
years
ago
with
the
with
a
plan
you
bought
into
that
plan,
and
that
has
definitely
bore
fruit.
So
thank
you
for
your
support
as
well,
and
congratulations
to
captain
Carter
and
lieutenant
Keaton.
B
AO
U
We're
going
deputy
chief
and
I
just
want
to
say
being
over
fire
prevention
in
training,
proud,
I
am
of
Captain
Carter
and
lieutenant
Keaton.
They
spent
countless
hours
on
getting
this
accreditation
program
going
and
getting
it
completed
so
again,
I
want
to
thank
them
personally
in
front
of
the
council
and
for
your
continued
support.
Thank
you.
AT
U
AW
Smith
I'm,
the
Train
chief,
so
I'm,
the
one
that
saw
firsthand
the
amount
of
work
that
they
put
into
it.
It
was
a
five
o'clock
and
I'm
ready
to
go
home
and
well
that's
Paulo
I
said:
are
you
ready
to
go?
She's
like
well,
I
got
a
little
bit
more
work
to
do
honestly.
Larry
was
her
bodyguard.
He
would
always
stay
with
her
and
David
Statesville,
five
or
six
o'clock
and
working
on
his
things,
who
it
was
a
lot
more
than
just
filling
out
a
bunch
of
forms.
AW
It
was
a
lot
of
detail,
work
and
hours
that
they
put
in.
It
was
hundreds
of
hours
that
Paul
and
Larry
put
into
this,
and
they
did
the
Burke
give
them
the
credit
for
all
the
hard
work
to
make
this
happen
and
like
she
said
when
we
came
to
you
guys
for
the
money
that
we
needed
to
buy
supplies
and
stuff,
you
guys
were
right
from
enough
to
give
us
the
money
to
get
started
so
out.
So
a
big
help
does
and
so
just
proud
of
the
work.
These
guys
did.
AH
B
N
N
I
told
Matt,
seen
him
on
the
Airways
and
everything
and
trying
to
keep
up
with
what
was
going
on,
but
we
don't
take
for
granted
what
you
do
and
there
are
a
lot
of
hours
that
you
put
in,
and
we
just
want
to
say
publicly
thank
you
and
we
hope
everything
works
out
down
there,
but
we
know
you
all
doing
all
that
you
can
do.
Thank
you.
S
But
in
a
rate,
I
wanted
to
congratulate
captain
Carter
and
lieutenant
Keaton
and
and
really
want
to
congratulate
the
chief
and
his
command
staff,
because
it's
been
in
recent
months,
actually
that
we
got
a
bump
at
night,
ayuh
so
rating.
And
that
is
something
worth
bragging
about
when
you
can
do
an
ISO
rating
of
one
I'm
going
to
do.
We
have
an
in
the
state
in
the
nation.
