A
A
Welcome
to
Columbus
connections:
I
am
your
host
David
Britt,
and
we
are
here
to
talk
about
one
of
the
most
fun
weeks
in
Columbus
Georgia,
the
Falcon
City
classic
Albany
State
Fort
Valley
State.
There
are
a
lot
of
events
going
on
we're
gonna.
Tell
you
all
about
it
right
here.
You
can
also
go
to
Falcon
City
Classic
comm.
They
have
a
calendar.
There
you'll
find
out
the
events
there
when
I
were
here,
look
nervous.
Why
not
hear
about
you
have
to
mr.
Carlos
Williams,
for
you
hear
his
voice.
You'll
see
him
on
TV.
A
You
see
him
all
over
he's
your
unit
on
the
board
with
the
felon
city
class,
sponsor
the
class
committee.
Yes,
this
is
you
all's
30th
30th
anniversary
special
edition.
If
anybody
just
happens
to
be
new
to
Clemson,
it
doesn't
know
what
we're
talking
about,
tell
them
what
to
how
it
came
about
and
what
they
can
expect
from.
A
Well,
we're
talking
about
the
big
football
game
between
Albany
State,
University
and
Fort
Valley
State
University,
and
it
came
about
because
we
have
a
wealth
of
alumni
from
both
of
those
great
institutions
here
in
Columbus,
and
they
got
together
and
decided
to
bring
these
colleges
in
here
to
Columbus
and
to
you
know,
to
play
one
another.
It's
been
30
years
ago.
A
Obviously,
and
there
were
a
lot
of
people
instrumental
in
doing
that
from
both
sides
and
of
course,
when
you
do
that,
when
you
have
these
ideas,
the
schools
and
their
presidents
also
have
to
agree
to
it
and
they
have
and
I
think
it's
been
the
best
thing
that
has
happened
to
both
schools
in
years
yeah.
Absolutely
because
it's
not
just
the
football
game.
It's
it's!
The
the
gathering
gathering
the
tailgating,
the
events
that
happens
surrounding
it.
It's
also
about
that
kids
kind
of
look
to
their
future
uns
and
get
that
idea.
A
I
can
run
a
college
in
their
mind,
that's
right
and
and
in
particular
it
gives
them
the
black
college
experience.
You
know
a
lot
of
times.
They
can't
get
that
from
their
guidance,
counselor
counselors
at
their
local
schools,
and
so
it
gives
them
an
idea
of
what
college
life
in
particular
black
college
life
is
all
about.
A
Again,
you
can
go
to
Fountain
City,
classic
calm
on
your
phone
or
computer
yeah
starting.
It
starts
Sunday,
November
3rd
start
with
Sunday
service
and,
of
course,
that
Monday
is
very
important
as
well.
That's
our
annual
health
fair
and
we
started
doing
that
years
ago.
You
know
to
give
something
back
to
the
community.
Our
alumni
from
Albany,
State
and
forth
out
of
state
will
come
out
and
and
we'll
have
health
experts
from
all
across
the
city
to
check
on
our
citizens
their
blood
pressure,
their
cholesterol.
A
You
know
things
of
that
nature,
and
so
we
encourage
them
to
come
out.
The
information,
as
we
said
and
location,
is
on
your
screen.
So
this
has
been
very
beneficial
and
very
helpful
to
the
Columbus
community
yeah.
You
definitely
wouldn't
go
through
with
this
being
a
black
college
events.
Of
course,
a
lot
of
diseases
primarily
affect
African
Americans
the
most.
This
is
a
great
time.
Some
people
don't
go
to
the
doctor
as
much
as
we
really
should.
A
Right
is
a
great
time,
but
just
get
yourself
a
check-up
yeah,
no
pressure
and
just
write
things
down
for
the
week.
That's
right!
It
just
takes
a
little
time
to
check
and
make
sure
everything
is
working,
properly,
absolutely
yeah
and
then
on.
Tuesday,
of
course,
is
our
annual
media
coaches
luncheon
and
we've
got
a
change
in
location
and
that
event
this
year
it
will
take
place
at
the
Green
Island
Hills
Country
Club,
okay,
rather
than
the
Columbus
trade
center.
So
we
want
all
over
the
members
of
our
media,
especially
you
guys
to
know
about
that.
A
We'll
start
at
around
the
same
time
it
11
o'clock,
and
so
we
ask
that
you
come
out
at
that
event.
The
coaches
will
be
on
hand
as
well
as
several
players.
Typically,
the
coaches
try
to
bring
some
local
players
that
have
played
here
in
Columbus
and
in
the
surrounding
area,
to
talk
with
the
media
and,
of
course,
enjoy
lunch
and
to
sell
a
few
wolf
tickets
about
they
think
it's
going
to
win.
Oh
yeah,
it's
got
a
trash
talk,
oh
yeah,
yeah
gotta
have
trash
trash,
talking
and
I.
A
Think
I
mentioned
earlier
that
these
two
schools
have
been
playing
since
1945
but
and
I'm
a
fourth
out-of-state
University
graduate.
But
when
you're
on
the
phone
say
the
classic
committee
you're
working
for
both
schools,
you're
working
for
you,
love
all
better
state,
just
as
much
as
you
love
for
the
other
state,
but
all
been
state
is
really
put
it
on
Fort
Valley
and
it's
found
civic
classic
I
think
maybe
Bella
has
worn,
maybe
seven
or
eight
on
its
own.
A
All
been
estate
has
been
dominant
while
I'm
talking
about
the
teens
when
they
mentioned
that
those
two
teams
play
in
the
eastern
side
of
the
SEC
conference
and
they
both
they
started
slow.
But
they
really
come
on.
Like
gangbusters,
they
warned
four
or
five
games
in
a
row
and
so
we're
looking
for
a
head
knock
of
a
football
game
which
it
always
is
from
forth
out
of
state
and
our
Penn
State
awesome.
A
So
that's
Tuesday,
yeah,
what's
coming
up
next
I
think
Wednesday
we'll
take
that
day
off
and
then
Thursday.
We
have
two
events.
Of
course
we
have
the
cufflinks
and
pearls
networking
mixer
that
one
at
the
River
Center
and
then
that
Thursday
will
be
the
college
recruiting
and
that
will
be
at
the
Museum
understand,
and
so
that's
an
opportunity
for
students
who
high
school
students
who
may
be
interested
in
attending
for
Valley
State
all
been
a
state
to
come
down
and
get
information
about
these
two
great
institutions.
A
Awesome
we're
gonna,
take
a
quick
break
because
we
know
that
this
is
a
lot
to
absorb.
In
the
meantime,
you
can
go
to
Fountain,
City,
Classic,
calm
and
we'll
be
right.
Back,
don't
go
anywhere,
I
am
a
teenager.
I
am
online
I,
enjoy
sharing
thoughts,
music,
videos,
ideas,
information,
I
would
not
I
will
not
all
not
be
a
victim
to
threats
to
stalking.
A
Welcome
back
to
Columbus
connections,
we
are
talking
the
Fountain
City
classic,
go
to
Fountain
City
classic
calm
for
all
the
information,
but,
like
I,
said
we're
talking
about
here,
one
of
the
greatest
weeks
in
Columbus,
a
lot
of
fun,
a
lot
of
events
just
awesome
time,
we're
going
down
the
calendar
and
seeing
what's
happening
so
far.
Well,
it
starts
on
November,
2nd
yeah
right
now,
one
Thursday's
7th.
We
talked
about
cufflinks
and
pearls
and
then
also
what
else
is
going
on
on
Thursday
on
Thursday
is
the
recruiting
fair
yeah.
A
They
can
mention
that
both
schools
will
send
representatives
down
and
I
think
that
is
that
the
Columbus
Museum
as
well
they'll
send
representatives
down
recruiters
down
to
talk
to
high
school
students
about
what
it
takes
to
get
into
Fort,
Valley,
State
and
Auburn
State
University
what
they
should
be
doing
now,
as
sophomores
juniors
and
seniors
to
try
to
get
to
college,
and
so
that's
some
very
good
advice
and
free
advice,
and
there
now
that's
Thursday.
That's
all
you
know
Thursday's
course
Friday,
it's!
The
president's
you
know
reception.
A
The
first
part
of
that
event
is
by
invitation
only
and
then
it
will
open
up
I,
think
David's
broadcasting
will
provide
an
old-school
and
new-school
type
format
there,
and
so
we're
really
looking
forward
to
that,
and
that
has
been
a
real
success
success
over
years
of
the
events
that
I've
attended,
you
have
more
young
people
at
the
old
school
event.
They
have
at
the
new
school
of
this
I.
A
A
Our
alumni
dance
will
move
from
the
Trade
Center
to
the
Marriott,
we'll
have
it
there
at
the
Marriott,
and
so
we
expect
that
event
to
fill
up
fast
as
well
and
we're
just
looking
forward
to
another
fantastic,
safe,
family-oriented
event
in
the
form
of
the
Fountain
City
Classic,
and
that's
the
thing
that
makes
us
so
great
is
Addison
from
their
babies
to
the
grandparents
everybody
is
going
to
enjoy
myself
everybody's
going
to
have
a
good
time.
Oh
yeah-
and
you
know
some
of
these
young
folks
have
never
seen
battle
of
the
bands
bands.
A
Are
they
coming
to
the
stadiums
and
the
halftime
shows
that
they
put
on
you?
That's
worth
the
price,
the
price
of
admission
right
there,
yeah
now
will
Fort,
Valley
and
Albany
State
be
marching
in
the
Veterans
Day
Parade
I
was
told
that
the
bands
will
participate
in
the
Veterans
parade.
So
that's
something
our
viewers
want
to
want
to
look
out,
for
that
should
be
something
something
very
spectacular
and
that's
another
great
thing
is
that
it
usually
falls
on
that
three-day
weekend.
A
lot
of
people
have
that
Monday
off,
so
you
got
some
time
to
rest.
A
It
really
gives
you
something
to
look
for
it
again,
we're
going
through
that
fall
season.
It's
finally,
cooling
off,
oh
yeah.
You've
got
a
week
of
fun,
yeah
and
and
a
great
football
game.
You
know
these
games
have
gone
down
to
the
wire.
Almost
every
year
there
have
been
very
few
games
where
either
team
has
dominated
the
other,
and
so
that's
what
fans
come
for
as
well.
A
They
know
they're
gonna,
get
great
tailgating
they're
gonna
get
they're
gonna,
get
a
chance
to
see
old
friends
and
they're
gonna
see
one
whale
of
a
football
game,
yeah
the
football
game
and
that
halftime
show
yeah.
It's
always
tailgating
is
great,
there's
nothing
like
being
in
that
Stadium
and
seeing
that
event
right,
seeing
that
halftime
show
and
just
enjoying
that
all
those
people,
yeah
and
I,
think
I'll
be
Estate's.
A
Pam
went
out
to
California
all
last
year,
our
year
before
last,
so
they've
made
some
national
history
there,
but
the
band's
both
of
these
bands
I've
noticed
over
years,
have
gotten
extremely
large,
and
that
has
made
them
better.
They
got
more,
as
you
know,
more
instrumented,
a
sound
better.
They
look
better
and
that
can
only
make
for
one
great
halftime
show
absolutely
so
again
go
to
Fountain
City,
Classic
comm
for
more
information,
all
the
details
taking
information.
Where
can
people
find
tickets
tickets
mainly
at
the
air
Kalama
Civic
Center?
A
But
if
you
log
on
to
that
website
that
you
mentioned
Fountain
City,
Classic
comm,
it
has
a
list
of
all
of
our
ticket
locations.
So
we
encourage
our
folks
to
do
that.
Awesome
again.
Check
out
that
calendar
for
all
the
events.
There'll
be
plenty
of
events
to
choose
from
go
to
all
of
them.
Enjoy
yourself
we're
going
to
have
a
awesome
fun
safe
weekend.
We
will
see
you
around
during
the
week
of
the
Fountain
City
classic.
A
It
might
I
mention
that
just
just
give
a
shout-out
to
the
hard-working
members
of
the
Fountain
City
Classic
Committee,
you
got
Miss
Jean
Lin,
who
heads
up
the
auburn
state
alumni
chapter
here:
locally
Sondra,
Ellison
heads
up
the
Fort
Valley
State
Alumni
chapter
and,
of
course,
our
illustrious
chairman
of
this
classic.
For
all
these
thirty
years
it's
been
honorable
kameswari
who
just
worked
so
tirelessly
up.
Well,
they
all
do
and
all
of
our
classic
committee
members
yeah.
Thank
you
cuz.
You
guys
making
awesome.
