A
B
No
party
like
a
block
party
sprinkle
in
jazz
food,
fun
and
fellowship,
and
you
have
Rhapsody
and
bloom
jazz
on
the
Block
presented
by
the
dr.
M
Delmar
Edwards
Black
History
Museum
on
Sunday
September,
the
1st
from
3
to
9
p.m.
and
the
historic
Liberty
District
tickets
are
$35
on
Eventbrite
or
Rhapsody.
Jazz.
Calm
come
on
out,
make
it
a
date
night
and
make
it
a
great
night
and
join
us
for
Rhapsody
and
bloom
jazz
on
the
block.
A
Welcome
to
Columbus
connections:
I!
Am
your
host
David
Britt!
Now
have
you
been
having
a
hot
girl
summer
if
you've
been
having
a
hard
guy
summer,
everybody's
just
been
having
a
hot
summer,
but
guess
what
summer
is
coming
to
an
end?
We're
getting
into
fall,
gonna
be
great
weather,
a
lot
of
events,
a
lot
of
things
going
on
and
the
perfect
event
wonderful
event
for
the
family.
We're
gonna
talk
about
its
Rhapsody
in
bloom,
jazz
on
the
Block
September
1st
in
the
Liberty
district
and
I
have
with
me
the
organizer
of
the
event
mr.
A
B
You
know
September,
the
1st
is
Labor
Day
weekend,
yes
ma'am,
but
we
said
if
we
are
gonna
have
the
coolest
event,
even
though
it's
probably
still
gonna
be
a
little
warm
outside.
But
on
that
day
we're
having
the
Rhapsody
and
bloom
jazz
on
the
block,
it
is
hosted
by
the
dr.
M
del
Mar.
It
was
Black
History,
Museum,
ok
and
it
features
food,
fun,
fellowship
and
jazz.
We
got
amazing
local
talent
and
so
I
think
people
should
come
out
and
starts
at
3.
It
ends
at
9
and
it's
outside.
B
For
stuff
to
do
that's
right
so
on
that
Sunday
they
can
come
out
and
hang
out
with
us
from
3
to
9
and
the
Liberty
theater
historic
district,
and
then
on
that
Monday
they
still
have
off,
so
they
can
recuperate
yeah
and
they
probably
want
to
recuperate.
They
might
come
out.
They
might
eat
a
little
bit
too
much
because
we've
got
food
trucks.
We've
got
other
vendors
that
are
gonna,
be
out
there.
They
can
shop.
B
But
let
me
just
tell
you
about
the
acts
that
we
have:
oh
yeah,
Columbus,
State,
University
jazz
quintet
it's
coming,
so
CSU
is
another
sponsor
this
year
and
then
we
have
the
sweet,
sounds
of
our
saxophonist
friend
Warren
Thornton,
and
then
we're
gonna
follow
up
with
Jimmy's
the
hummingbird
lights
and
the
Channel
Zero
man
and
we've
got
two
more
eggs.
We
got.
The
Tony
part
will
review
with
Chris
Kelly
and
also
with
2-car
Hemingway
and
following
last
but
not
least,
is
local
legend
Peggy
juniors
coming
out
tonight.
You.
B
A
B
Are
wonderful
and
so
folks
want
to
come
out,
because
that
is
the
order
C
issue.
First
then
Warren
then
Jim,
Issa
and
channel
zero
band,
then
tone
Department
with
Chris
into
car
and
then
Peggy
Jenkins,
the
gates
gonna
open
at
3:00.
The
first
musician
takes
the
stage
at
4:00.
We
got
food
trucks,
we
got
barbecue,
we've
got
hot
wings,
we've
got
ice
cream,
we
got
ice
cones,
we
have.
You
know
if
we're
gonna
have
a
fabulous
time,
so
we
want
people
to
come
out
and
tickets
by
the
way
cuz.
This
is
what
happened
last
year.
B
When
we
had
this
event.
They
waited
to
the
last
minute
we
were
sold
out.
So
the
only
way
again
to
get
tickets.
This
time
is
still
on
Eventbrite.
Well,
they
can
go
on
Rhapsody,
jazz
calm,
which
is
our
website
that
links
them
back
to
them.
Right.
Okay,
get
their
tickets,
tickets
are
$35
and
the
proceeds
benefit.
The
dr.
M
Del
Mar.
It
was
Black
History,
Museum.
A
B
They
are
if
they
are
going
toward
that
they
are
a
sponsor
yeah.
The
sponsors
are
making
their
checks
payable
and
those
are
dollars
that
go
that
way.
These
folks
are
actually
coming
out
getting
a
benefit
and
so
lutely.
Absolutely
so.
I
want
to
make
sure
people
understand
and
remember
who
dr.
Edwards
is
and
who
he
was.
B
He
was
the
first
african-american
surgeon
in
the
City
of
Columbus
right,
and
so,
though,
he's
not
here
with
us
anymore,
physically,
his
his
spirit
lives
on
because
there's
so
many
african-american
doctors
that
are
in
this
community
now
because
of
him,
my
mother,
who's,
a
retired
nurse.
She
remembers
working
with
him
and
just
the
fantastic
man
that
he
was
and
the
tremendous
legacy
has
here
in
the
community.
So
it's
benefiting
him
you're
in
the
museum
that
we
are
planning
to
build
out.
His
office
still
sits
on
Veterans
Parkway.
B
It
does
and
that's
gonna
be
the
hub
from
which
we
will
build
about
a
17,000
square
foot
facility.
Oh
well,
yes,
that's
gonna,
be
a
five
billion
dollar
capital
campaign,
but
in
order
to
bring
awareness
to
this,
we're
having
events
like
this
and
like
the
Motown
review
from
on
Saturday
31st.
So
we
can
really
raise
the
awareness
because,
prior
to
this,
the
museum
used
to
be
called
the
Columbus
Black
History
Museum
Johnnie
Warner
did
an
amazing
job.
B
A
So
it's
amazing
that
you
know
and
you're
gonna
have
a
great
time.
Yes,
but
you're.
The
community
is
getting
its
chance
to
be
a
part
of
history,
part
of
being
a
part
of
history
and
being
a
part
of
something
that's
commemorating
yes,
that's
right!
People
don't
really
get
the
history
that
is
in
Columbus
in
our
location.
The
great
acts
that
have
been
through
here,
the
great
acts
that
are
performing
the
Liberty
theaters
right,
they've
been
a
part
of
the
Liberty
district.
B
A
B
Got
Columbus
State
University
for
the
first
time.
This
year
we
have
Tisa's
Tisa's,
a
wonderful
corporate
citizen.
We
have
peaceful,
River
residential
services.
That's
once
once
again
supporting
this
event.
We've
got
cook.
Dental
care,
happy
valley,
day
facility
is
out
there.
Our
beautiful
logo
was
created
by
collage
graphics.
Our
website
by
cyber
boost
another
one
of
our
sponsors,
we're
excited
about
them.
Then
we've
got
the
amazing
photography
of
Coulson
photography.
That's
gonna,
be
there:
okay,
shel
how
it's
gonna
be
there
with
her
photography
now
Coulson's
got
that
photo
booth.
B
A
B
Did
a
fabulous
job
working
with
me
just
last
year,
they're
gonna
be
hosting
it
again
this
year,
so
we've
got
amazing
sponsors,
but
just
come
out
and
support
it.
These
sponsors
are
what's
making
it
possible
for
us
people
to
do
it
at
this
price
point.
So
people
can
come
out
for
many
many
hours
and
enjoy
themselves
yeah.
