A
Hey
welcome
to
Columbus
connection.
No
I
am
NOT
two
years
in
the
future
and
David
brick.
No,
this
is
pop
Barnes
here,
I'm
doing
Columbus
connection
we're
going
to
talk
about
a
really
important
subject
that
I
have
not
really
heard
individuals
talk
about
in
depth,
so
keep
in
mind,
I'm,
not
David,
but
we're
going
to
talk
about
a
really
important
subject.
See
you
on
the
other
side
of
this
commercial,
hello,.
B
C
A
Here
I
am
no
I'm,
not
David
Brit,
like
I,
said
before.
What
we're
going
to
do
is
I
have
to
my
right
and
to
my
left
three
gentlemen
that
are
really
really
involved
in
the
community,
dealing
with
the
concern
about
our
african-american
males
in
all
the
situations
and
questions
and
concerns
about
that
so
I'm
going
to
ask
mr.
Keith
Mitchell
is
further
to
my
right
to
look
into
this
camera
right
here
and
just
give
us
synopsis
to
our
people.
D
Mitchell
citizen
here
at
Columbus,
Georgia
I've
been
working
with
mentoring
for
a
while
now
as
a
part
of
my
work
with
the
church,
community
mentoring,
young
men
actually
working
the
school
system.
My
background
is,
in
the
state
government
I've
had
throat
our
30
years
with
a
public
health
experience
I'm
so
dealing
with
the
issues
and
concerns
of
our
communities
for
a
long
time
now.
My
concern
here
is
that
I
feel
that
we
have
a
lot
of
program.
D
Mentoring
programs
like
community,
but
there
seems
to
be
a
gap,
is
so
my
concern
and
I
got
with
my
two
brothers
delight
and
and
Mike
and
talked
about
how
can
we
cover
those
gaps?
And
so
that's
what
I
would
like
to
see
happening
as
we
move
forward?
There
are
some
solutions,
but
those
solutions
are
tired
until
it's
working
together
and
coming
together
as
a
group
and
working
in
synergy
and
Dwight
would.
E
Everybody
Dwight
Calhoun
I'm
with
mr.
cardio
stone
enterprises
representing
CMC
today,
Columbus
mentoring,
consortium
I
have
a
background
working
with
youth
about
30
years
myself
and
I
want
to
kind
of
somewhat
bring
a
different
perspective
on
this
pops
just
being
brought
up
in
a
single-parent
household
and
knowing
some
of
the
gaps
that
our
young
man
can
fall
through.
E
A
E
A
great
chance
to
turn
this
thing
over
and-
and
my
thing
is
that
too
many
times
we
focus
on
the
minority
that
1%
or
that
5%
about
these
children,
and
we
should
be
focusing
on
the
95.
So
I
want
to
kind
of
rein,
light
to
the
95
percent
of
our
children,
who
are
out
there
doing
positive
things,
and
so
that's
why
myself
Keith
and
brother
40
and
yourself
came
together
and
decided.
We
we
no
longer
want
to
sit
on
the
sidelines
and
talk
about.
We
don't
want
no
television,
we
want
to
do
the
work.
E
A
A
We
had
a
conversation,
but
I'm
gonna
be
bringing
him
on
because
we
limited
it
as
far
as
space.
This
past
weekend
was
a
dynamic
gathering
at
Columbus
State
University
on
the
side
of
senators.
It
says
they
all
helped
me
there
is
that
let
us
make
man
and
it's
an
initiative
to
educate
and
to
mentor
African
American
males
I
gave
a
talk
not
too
long
ago.
A
In
fact,
about
eight
months
ago,
if
the
Lord
spares
my
life,
I
will
be
a
76
year
old,
african-american
male,
who
has
been
Dwight
mentioned
my
grandmother
I,
don't
know
who
my
father
is.
Mr.
Barnes
was
kind
enough
to
give
me
his
name
is
the
gentleman
in
the
neighborhood,
but
my
grandmother
raised
me
and
she
raised
me
with
all
the
values
that
she
had
and
when
I
was
coming
up.
We
had
a
village.
A
My
grandmother
worked
from
early
dawn
to
late
at
night,
so
she
raised
us,
but
also
the
the
neighborhoods
and
I
had
my
own
particular
idea.
But
I
am
concerned
because
we
are
lose
two
possibly
three
generations
of
african-american
males
and
we've
got
to
go
back
as
Keith
and
Dwight
and
Mike
singing
to
where
we
have
to
take
that
extra
step,
like
the
old
folks
did
me
and
and
and
start
covering
these
individuals
with
a
lot
of
love
and
direction,
not
not
only
to
call
them
on
what
they're
doing
wrong,
but
to
show
them
the
ways.
A
I
am
concerned,
my
wife
and
I.
We
have
11
grandchildren
and
six
great-grandchildren,
and
so
we
need
to
do
something
right
away
and
I
like
the
concept
where
Keith,
Dwight
and
Mike,
but
to
me-
and
they
asked
me
to
be
a
member
and
I'm
grateful,
because
we
all
need
to
be
involved
in
this,
and
so
I
would
like
for
you
Keith,
to
talk
about
two
things
to
start
out
about
the
reentry
program.
Okay,
look
at
this
Cameron's
just
talked
about
that.
What
you
and
Mike
and
I
have
Mike
also
called
speak
about
that.
D
First,
yes,
sir,
yes,
for
the
last
about
10
years
now,
myself
Michael
and
it's
been
an
initiative
with
our
faith
community
to
work
with
the
prison
re-entry
program.
Here
there
been
some
changes,
so
I'm
excited
about
the
fact
that
now
we
have
some
solidified
programming
for
this
program
as
we
call
returning
citizens
and
the
prison
re-entry.
We
have
what
we
call
stations
of
Hope,
where
people
returning
back
to
our
community
have
resources.
D
Now
they
can
go
to
what
we
call
stations
of
Hope
that
have
food
clothing
bus
passes,
and
we
also
have
the
mentoring
component
to
that,
where
we
now
try
and
again
create
a
network
of
resources
in
our
communities.
So
returning
citizens
have
a
way
back
to
wholeness,
and
so
that's
what
I'm
one
of
the
other
components
of
this
and
again,
what
is
still
me
and
the
mentoring
component
is
that
we
want
to
work
on
the
backend.
D
People
make
mistakes,
but
we
also
again
with
our
program
initiatives,
catch
them
on
the
funny,
and
so
what
I'm,
by
myself
and
Mike
and
a
few
others
are
involved
and
is
trying
to
close
that
gap
on
the
front.
End
work
with
our
young
people,
but
also
trying
to
help
on
the
back
end,
was
to
that
returning
citizen
and
working
with
them
and
make
them
whole.
So
it's
a
network
faith
communities
coming
together,
figuring
out
ways
to
better
support
returning
citizens
to
our
community
and.
D
We
actually
have
new
problems
about
this
churches
involved
as
a
4th
Street
Friendship
Baptist
Church,
greater
peace.
We
have
Corinth
Missionary,
Baptist
Church,
there's
a
part
of
our
initial
group.
Now
that
we're
working
with
and
we're
reaching
out,
we
meet
every
second
Thursday
of
the
month
at
6
o'clock
at
4th
Street
and
we're
actually
in
a
big
recruitment
phase,
because
with
the
changes
in
the
program,
it's
allowing
for
more
opportunities,
I'm.
A
I
had
an
opportunity
to
speak
with
his
wife
to
take
a
message
to
him
that
it's
also
yes,
sir,
and
this
will
definitely
I'm
longer
to
reach
program.
I'm
gonna
have
dr.
Michael
for
Tate
speak
about.
I
was
one
of
the
two
things
outstanding
things
of
his
legacy,
but
I'm
really
am
glad
that
you,
and
so
many
others,
and
we
do
need
to
get
more
people
involved.
A
Yes,
I
want
you
to
speak
delight
about
the
the
various
Keith
about
the
various
stations
after
I
left
a
meeting
that
the
various
stations
that
she
went
through
so
with
the
let
us
make
this
was
a
huge
initiative
out
of
Atlanta
I
mean
I.
Have
the
the
gentleman's
name
I
think
his
name
is
councilman
X
councilman
Bozeman
and
they
had
they
covered.
Everybody
would
say
they
covered
gangs.
They
covered
a
hip,
hop
they're
covered
education,
they
covered
faith
issues.
A
It
was
really
a
very,
very,
very
dynamic
gathering,
and
you
know
what
it
to
me
interview
to
me.
The
fact
that
you
have
to
be
as
involved
as
all
of
those
men
were
in
stepping
out
and
what
I
like
about
Columbus
mentoring
that
you
guys
were
to
me,
is
that
you're
bringing
everybody
on
board.
So
there's
no
choice
issues
if
you're
out
there
in
the
community.
We
we
want
you,
yes,
sir,
what
you,
if
you
want
to
be
involved
and
so
Dwight,
let
me
speak
to
you
we'll
come
back.
E
F
E
C
E
A
Pretty
percent
corrected
and
God
works
in
mysterious
ways
just
want
us
to
perform,
and
when
you
guys
approach
me
and
we
do
that,
let
us
make
man
was
going
to
be
an
affray.
We
want
to
use
that
as
a
springboard
sure
for
us
to
reach
out
into
the
community
and
to
really
bring
all
the
organizations
together
for
one
thing,
because
you
wanna
do
something
all
of
us
can
do
something,
and
so
we're
gonna
take
a
break
right
here
and
I'm
gonna.
A
Have
you
Keith
come
back
and
speak
about
more
about
the
prison
reentry
and
what
you're
looking
to
that
camera
there
and
to
also
let
everyone
know
where
these
places
are
at
how
someone
coming
down
the
prison
can
contact
was
the
first
step
and
things
like
that,
and
then
you
know
what
we're
going
to
do.
We're
gonna
bring
all
my
adopted
son.
My
adopted,
see
you.
G
F
A
Back
to
Columbus
connection
almost
said:
focus
on
El,
Columbus
connection
and
and
and
I
have
mr.
Keith
Mitchell
mr.
Dwight,
here
Calhoun,
okay,
the
one
big
question
now
I
know
that
I'm
doing
audience
is
gonna
want
to
know,
look
into
that
camera
and
someone
coming
out
of
prison,
give
them
a
contact
so
that
they
have
it.
Yes,.
F
D
Seven,
oh
six,
five,
six,
six
one
zero,
eight,
four
and
doctor
Forte
he
was
coming
on-
will
give
you
his
number
and
the
way
this
is
set
up.
Pops
is
a
person
on
probation
or
parole
comes
back
into
our
community,
where
we
have
what
it's
called
a
community
arm,
organizer,
which
is
Angela
Reis
and
what
she
does
is
she
gets
that
information
and
shares
it
with
us
at
the
loving
action?
D
The
president
reads
your
program,
and
so
that's
how
you
kind
of
activate
the
resources
she
contacts
me
oatmeal,
Mike,
Forte
and
based
on
that
information,
we're
able
to
galvanize
our
network
of
support
to
then
that
person
has
a
mentor,
because
part
of
our
program
is
not
on
the
Stations
of
Hope.
We
also
have
a
mentoring
component,
they're
assigned
a
mentor
and
that
person
walks
them
through
returning
back
to
our
community
and
becoming
whole.
So
Angela
Reese
is
our
contact
coordinator.
When
myself
and
dr.
A
Also
because
that's
exactly
what
an
individual
returning
back
into
society
needs.
Yes,
so
now
Dwight
I
want
you
to
let
our
healing
audience
look
in
that
camera
right
there
and
let
everybody
see
how
mr.
cardio
told
let
everyone
know
that
he's
involved
in
this
Columbus
from
entering
shake
so
tell
everyone
how
you
and
Keith
and
dr.
Michael
Forte
got
involved,
and
then
you
ask
fat
boy
to
be
on
time.
So
read
it
again,
it's
good
be
looking
for
that
camera
another!
Well,
it's.
E
Kind
of
funny,
because
actually
I
cut
yours
and
I
actually
and
so
and
I
talk
all
the
time
in
this
front
yard,
and
you
know
we
discussed
various
topics
and
he
said
man
when
let
us
make
man
leave.
Let's
don't
drop
the
ball
right
here.
We
need
to
put
some
in
place
some
organization
in
place,
so
you
know
we
just
don't
lose
the
fervor.
The
momentum.
A
E
Momentum
and
we
have
local
situations
that
we
need
to
deal
with
here.
So
that's
how
the
conversation
started
and,
of
course,
keep
the
mic
you're
good
friends
and
I,
don't
know
how
we
got
involved.
We
were
just
talking,
but
anywho
long
story
short
we're
mad
we're
upset
and
we're
going
to
do
something
about
it.
Alright,.
A
E
May
9th,
which
is
a
thirsty
now
by
the
way,
is
open
to
the
public.
You
want
to
invite
as
many
organizations
as
possible.
That's
dealing
with
african-american
men,
especially
where
it's
gonna
be.
It's
gonna,
be
at
the
Columbus
community
center.
If
you
don't
know
the
addresses
three
nine
five,
two
steam
Mill
Road,
it's
at
6:30
p.m.
sharp
right
so
feel
free
to
come.
Invite
some
local
mentors.
If
you
have
a
mentors
group,
bring
them
put
the
word
out
there.
We
got
a
whole
week
to
get
this
thing
moving
and
let's
do
it.
A
What
I
like
about
this
year
is
when
I
asked
Keith
and
Dwight
and
Mike
I
said
what's,
but
give
us
a
little
bit
the
goals
and
all
I
really
like
the
way
this
is
worded.
The
purpose
of
the
gathering
is
discussed:
the
creation
of
synergy
among
the
different
local
mentoring
positions
to
enhance
support
of
african-american
males
within
Muscogee
County.
That
is
awesome.
I
know
you,
three
brains
got
together
and
I
did
that
and
I
just
think.
It's
awesome
where
you've
done
it.
So,
let's
speak
more
about
some
of
the
areas
enhance
communication
among
mentoring
organizations.
E
Well,
you
know
we're
gonna
create
a
roster
that
we
have
a
list
of
different
organization.
We're
gonna
reach
out
to
you
right
now.
If
you
have
any
questions
concerning
the
meeting.
Call
me
at
seven:
oh
six,
three,
zero,
zero,
six,
seven,
five,
six
or
email
me
we're
putting
together
the
the
roster
now
and
want
to
get
your
input.
We
when
you
show
up,
we
want
your
input
and
let
us
know
where
your
organization
is.
If
you
have
any
upcoming
events,
we
want
to
show
up
in
mascot.
A
Just
create
a
calling
post,
email
and
Facebook
groups
for
notifying
groups
of
planned
events
and
activities
and
create
a
routine
meeting
schedule,
which
is
also
speak
to
number
two
increasing
shared
support.
I'm
on
mentoring
organizations
provide
volunteers
to
support
other
groups,
we're
going
to
need
that
absolutely
can't
provide
human
and
financial
resources
to
support
other
events
because
you're
one.
This
often
enough
thing
happens
in
a.
D
One
of
the
key
things
we
want
to
be
clear
about
that.
We
we
don't
we're
not
asking
about
this
change,
who
they
are.
No
we're
not
asking
you
know,
join
some
organization.
We're
we're
just
talking
about
is
simply
let's
come
together,
put
our
heads
together
for
one
common
goal
in
this
community
and
that's
addressing
the
issues
concerns
but
after
American
used
in
our
community,
and
so
that's
why
we
use
the
term
synergy.
We
want
to
eliminate
gaps.
D
A
F
Am
a
teenager
I
am
online
I,
enjoy
sharing
thoughts,
music,
videos,
ideas,
information,
I
would
not
I
will
not.
I
will
not
be
a
victim
to
threats
to
stalking.
Just
so
listening
to
predators,
I
will
be
responsible,
I
will
be
careful,
I
will
be
honest,
I
will
be
smarter,
I
would
get
my
parents
involved,
I
will
protect
myself,
I
will
be
safe,
I
am
a
teenager
and
die
and
I
will
not
be
bullied.
A
H
How's
everybody,
my
name
is
Michael
Forte
and
I
am
a
principal
in
this
Corey
County
School
District
I
have
the
privilege
of
working
with
mr.
Keith
Mitchell
in
the
white
Calhoun.
Of
course,
my
mentor
pop
Lawrence,
and
so
we've
come
together
to
create
an
age
or
organization,
and
this
hopefully
creates
energy,
as
mr.
Mitchell
was
saying,
I
work
in
the
future
and
what
I
mean
by
working
in
the
future.
I
work
with
kids
every
day.
H
G
H
Know
give
them
words
of
advice,
guidance
and
things
like
that
and
I
believe
by
doing
this
work,
this
organization
that
we
bring
together
we're
creating
a
safety
net,
a
resource
so,
for
instance,
I
have
parents,
you
know
it's
particularly
middle
school.
That
work
would
approach
me
and
they
would
actually
you
know,
do
you
know
anyone
that
can
help
with
my
child
I'll
do
the
best
I
could,
but
sometimes
as
a
principal
you're,
not
going
to
be
receptive
to
your
mentoring,
so
hopefully
by
joining
forces
and
creating
a
master,
roster,
so
middle
school
principals.
H
If
they
have
a
child
that
is
in
need
of
mentoring,
then
they
will
have
a
resource
that
they
can
call,
and
so
this
particular
group
would
be
able
to
offer
their
services
I
just
believe.
We
have
enough
citizens
in
this
in
this
particular
community
that
we
can
create
that
type
of
that
type
of
consortium.
I
think
we
can
do
it.
A
Everything
Mike
from
A
to
Z,
and
while
you
were
speaking
it
brought
to
mind
even
my
own,
come
on
grandmother's
left
out
early
in
the
morning
before
dawn
and
came
home
at
night.
Yet
there
was
a
just
Center
where
we
kids
went.
It
was
nothing
there
was
this
ability
and
just
blank
is
no
mats
on
the
floor
and
a
janitor
mr.
Percy
right
I
will
never
forget
him.
He
will
come
in
as
a
boy
did
you
do
your
homework
and
when
you
get
17
you're
going
in
the
military,
that's
a
way.
A
You
don't
have
to
have
any
particular
degrees
or
anything
you
just
have
to
have
it
in
your
heart
to
want
to
mentor
and
you're,
so
very,
very,
very
correct
when
you
said
this
is
a
clarion
call
for
everyone
to
come
to
get
on
board
to
try
to
creep
recreate
that
village
concept
that
we
did
have
that
we
wrapped
our
arms
around
now,
african-american
males
and
you
as
a
educator.
You
just
summed
everything
up
see
why
I
adopted
he
does
things
or
the
more
keys.
D
Sir,
all
next
Thursday
made
a
knife
at
6:30
p.m.
we
will
be
gathering
at
the
Columbus
Community
Center,
located
on
steamed,
Hill
Road
and
we're
reaching
out
to
every
organization
that
worked
with
young
men,
any
type
of
mentoring.
Anybody
that's
interesting
and
impact
in
the
life
of
a
young
man,
you're
invited
we
want
to
create
a
dialogue.
We
want
to
talk
about
how
to
strengthen
the
gap
so
that
no
young
man
in
this
community
no
longer
is
caught
up
into
the
traps
and
the
misguidance
in
our
community.
D
We
want
to
be
on
purpose,
we're
looking
for
opportunities
just
again
come
together
and
not
solve
every
problem,
but
there's
something
that
I
believe
we
can
do
pop
to
to
address
those
young
people
that
that
need
God.
Basically,
in
my
experience,
ready
for
the
opportunity
have
somebody
step
into
the
life
and.
A
H
Let
me
just
say
the
instance:
well
pops,
our
doctor:
can
you
gear
more
with
Mouskouri,
County,
School,
District,
actually
attempted,
or
what
deed
I'm
sorry
created
well
was
in
the
process
of
reaching
out
to
create
a
master
list
or
create
a
mentoring
system
Oh,
and
so
this
was
to
dr.
Lewis,
but
I,
don't
I
think
only
to
mentoring
groups
respond
to
that
column.
So
hopefully
this
right
this
here.
This
effort
would
create
a
little
bit
more
energy
and
hopefully
bring
people
together.
I'm
I'll
make
sure
that
I
reach
out
to
dr.
H
Gilmour
on
that,
particularly
on
this
particular
meeting
as
well,
and
so
there's
also
a
component
where
you
have
to
do
a
background.
Checking
things
of
that
nature.
So
it's
not
going.
You
know
if,
hopefully,
we'd
be
able
to
get
that
far,
and
you
know
once
again,
I
have
to
piggyback
off
with
what
Dwight
said
and
keep
saying
you
know,
this
is
not
an
effort
to
try
to
to
change
or
takeover.
It's
not
that
you
know
this
is.
This
is
bigger
than
us
exactly
this
is
this
is
bigger
than
us.
H
A
I
will
ask
for
for
everyone
to
spread
the
word
about
this
event.
I'm
going
to
have
dr.
microphone.
My
adopted
son
speak
on
the
day
and
time
again
for
the
media,
and
we
will
all
encourage
everyone
that
sees
this
hear
it.
Every
person
can
touch
10
people
to
spread
the
word
we
want
to
have
the
columbus
community
center
jammed
with
people
wanting
to
do
something,
and
so
dr.
foretelling,
would
you
look
at
this
camera?
Give
them
the
date
and
time
again
give
them
the
name
of
our
organization,
columbus
mentoring,
consortium.
F
A
H
Sir,
am
a
night,
the
Columbus
community
center
on
steering
me
a
rope
and
as
Deacon
Keith
Mitchell
said
it
we're
creating
dialogue,
not
monologue
this
dialogue.
This
is
conversation
back
and
forth.
That's
that's!
Not
the
purpose
of
this
to
create
run
along
so
once
again,
May
night,
the
community
center
are
all
steam.
Your
roles,
you.
A
See
what
these
these
dynamite
young
men
wasn't
that
open
right,
not
monologue
dialogue,
you
want
to
see
something
else
did.
A
Is
at
6:30
and
so
again,
I
just
want
to
just
thank
the
Columbus
consolidated
government
for
allowing
us
the
opportunity
I
am
concerned.
As
a
76
year
old,
african-american
male
Lord
spare
my
life
next
month,
I've
seen
a
lot
of
history.
I
have
experienced
a
lot
as
an
african-american
male.
We
need
to
save
our
young
african-american
men.
