A
A
Welcome
to
columbus
connections.
I
am
your
host
david
britt,
and
here
in
the
tri-city
area.
We
have
a
problem.
We
have
a
big
problem
with
domestic
violence.
Many
young
women
have
been
seriously
injured
and
many
have
even
lost
their
lives
due
to
domestic
violence.
Well,
I
have
a
young
filmmaker
here
from
this
area
from
this
city
who
is
creating
a
film
and
spreading
awareness
about
just
that
topic:
domestic
violence.
A
A
B
Yes,
so
I'm
a
graduate
of
valdosta
state
university.
While
I
was
at
the
in
in
school,
I
made
10
to
12
short
films,
one
some
local
awards
there.
There
was
a
video
contest
called
take
back
the
night.
Take
back.
The
night
is
an
event
for
projects
and
messages
about
anti-sexual
violence,
awareness
and
spreading
spreading
awareness
about
sexual
violence,
and
I
did
a
film
about
a
young
man
who
was
raped
because
we
hear
a
lot
about.
B
Exactly
so,
I
I
like
to
tell
stories
there
about
people
or
places
that
don't
get
the
attention
that
I
feel
like
they
deserve,
or
things
that
become
neglected
by
by
society
and
that
that
one,
the
video
contest
we
had
school-wide
and
we
had
another
one
called:
what
was
it
red:
the
red
red
door,
red
door?
Was
a
cinema
cinema
store
that
we
had
in
town
and
they
hosted
local
video
contests,
and
I
won
first
place
there
once
and
another
one
where
I
won
second
place
and
you've.
A
Worked
here
at
at
a
local
tv
station
and
you-
and
we
spoke
a
little
bit
beforehand
and
you
started
seeing
these
domestic
violence
stories
being
continuous
and
they
kind
of
struck
a
tone
with
you
tell
me
about
why
it
hit
home.
So
close
with
you.
B
Yes,
when
it
comes
to
domestic
violence,
I'm
a
man
raised
by
women
and
it
wasn't.
It
was
a
common
place
for
me
to
hear
their
stories
of
their
abuse
when
we
would
just
be
sitting
at
the
table,
my
mother
grandmother
and
my
auntie,
and
while
I
was
working
at
the
news
station,
I
noticed
a
pattern
of
young
women
losing
their
lives
to
domestic
abuse
and
teen
dating
violence
and
instead
of
just
sitting
there
reporting
on
it.
B
I
wanted
to
take
that
issue
head-on
and
use
my
skills
and
my
resources
to
do
something
about
it,
and
so
I
started
researching
and
figuring
out
what
I
could
do
and
I
decided
let's
make
a
documentary
and
the
lives
of
destiny
virgin,
mariah,
faro,
diane,
king
and
jerica
spellman
all
were
women
who
were
here
from
our
columbus
area.
This
is
happening
right
here
in
our
hometown.
B
We
highlight
their
stories
in
the
film
and
georgia
when
it
comes
to
the
topic
of
domestic
violence.
We
rank
number
one
when
it
comes
to
teen,
dating
violence
and
and
all
of
the
other
categories
when
it
comes
to
the
adults.
Age
range
is
really
from
13
to
35
years
old.
Georgia
ranks
high
in
nearly
every
category,
so
it's
a
problem
not
just
in
columbus
but
abroad,
and
that's
what
we
talked
about
in
my
film
a
dangerous
silence.
A
A
A
A
B
B
A
A
B
Yes,
it
was
almost
like
a
relief,
I
think,
for
every
artist
or
every
every
when
it
comes.
For
me,
filmmaking
is
an
art,
and
so
in
the
process
of
making
this
film,
it
was
almost
like
a
release,
a
fair
release
in
therapy
for
me
also
in
talking
with
them,
because
I
wasn't
alone
and
they
I
felt
like
they,
it
was
easier
for
me
to
connect
with
them
because
I
knew
more
about
where
they
were
coming
from
and
what
the
the
feelings
that
they
felt.
B
A
B
In
the
beginning,
there
was
some
pushback
from
from
one
couple,
but
they
they
left
the
project
entirely.
But
after
that,
no
everyone
was
open
because
they
want
to
get.
B
Yes,
the
screening
will
take
place
at
a
perfect
place
that
is
located
at
5344
b
colb
avenue
shout
out
to
patricia
and
her
husband
jared.
They
have
opened
their
doors
to
us
and
have
been
friendly
and
welcoming
to
us
the
event
itself.
Doors
open
at
6,
00
p.m,
we're
selling
tickets.
Now
on
eventbrite.
If
you
type
in
a
dangerous
silence,
preview
screening,
you
will
find
us
and
we'll
pop
up.
We
have
a
facebook
page
where
you
can
go
and
find
us
at
the
dangerous
silence.
B
Yes,
yeah,
yes
and

at
6,
00
p.m.
The
event
itself
starts
at

and
the
movie
itself
will
start
at

doors
are
opening
we're
going
to
have
a
meet
and
greet
and
allow
people
to
walk
around
to
the
vendor.
The
community
vendors
we're
going
to
have
there
featuring
people
like
well
organizations
like
the
the
domestic
violence,
roundtable
project,
rebound
columbus
and
wellness
center,
and
so
many
others.
So.
A
B
Sir
yeah,
yes,
that's
what
it's
all
about
in
the
end,
we
got
to
get
this
message
out
there.
My
plan
and
my
goal
is
to
get
these
women's
story
spread
all
across
the
world
and
that's
what
I'm
going
to
do.
Awesome.
B
Yes,
you
can
find
a
ding,
that's
the
name
of
the
film.
You
can
find
the
preview
screening
of
a
dangerous
silence
at
the
perfect
place
and
that's
at
5344
b,
as
in
boy
colb,
with
a
k
avenue
and
we
look
to
we.
We
hope
to
see
you
there
and
we
want
to
have
a
great
time
and
want
to
also
educate
people.
So
yeah
look
forward
to
seeing
you.
