A
Welcome
to
columbus
connection,
I
am
your
host
david
britt
and
hey.
It's
been
a
minute,
hasn't
it
well,
this
time.
Last
year
the
world
was
going
absolutely
crazy.
We
got
a
little
bit
better.
We've
got
some
light
at
the
end
of
the
tunnel
and
I'm
sure
that
I'm
sure
that
you
all
have
a
lot
of
information
you
want
to
know
you
want
to
know
what's
going
on
in
the
city,
about
the
vaccinations,
when
will
the
pools
be
opening
up
and
things
like
that
going
on
this
summer,
but
we
have
a
lot
of
things
going
on.
A
We
have
some
new
people
to
introduce
you
to
so
we're
going
to
talk
about
it.
So
first
we'll
start
off
with
our
new
director
of
the
columbus
civic
center,
where
a
lot
of
great
activities
will
be
happening.
Mr
rob
landers
now
he's
here
he's
in
his
attire
because
he's
in
promotion
mode
right
now
the
man
is
constantly
staying
busy,
bringing
a
great
service
to
the
city,
so
we're
going
to
get
into
that.
Welcome
to
the
show
mr
landers
thank.
A
B
Right
absolutely,
I
mean
it's
been
about
a
year
since
we've
actually
had
ticketed
events
inside
of
the
arena
and
obviously
with
the
challenges
that
we
faced
over
the
last
12
months.
We
truly
were
in
this
together,
so
over
the
several
months,
we've
spent
countless
hours
in
tireless
effort
working
with
local
health
departments,
national
agencies,
including
cdc
to
put
in
guidelines
and
protocols
that
will
allow
us
to
safely
reopen.
C
A
A
B
A
And
talking
about
the
civic
center,
that's
kind
of
the
perfect
representation
of
a
business
that
in
this
pandemic,
you
yourself
came
in
last
june,
which
was
right
in
the
thick
of
the
pandemic
right
people
having
to
shut
down
people,
the
mix
of
people
wanting
recreation
and
wanting
things
to
do
versus
the
safety
of
it.
Now
here
you
all,
are
you
you
implemented
some
great
things
outdoors
during
then
that
were
successful,
right,
you're
intermittent
implementing
new
stuff.
B
D
B
Just
totally
shut
down,
and
so
that's
where
we
incorporated
some
of
our
outside
events.
When
we
started
doing
our
drive-in
movies,
we
had
several
political
rallies.
Everybody
remembers
spooktacular
when
the
lions
were
miles
and
miles
down
the
streets
and
those
events
were
new
for
us,
but
it
was
an
opportunity
for
us
to
be
able
to
bring
the
community
together
in
a
safe
manner
and
now,
as
we
transition
into
2021
and
we're
starting
to
see
things
looking
a
little
bit
better
and
like
you
mentioned,
there
is
a
light
at
the
end
of
the
tunnel.
B
We're
able
to
safely
proceed
with
having
games
back
indoors
for
the
river
dragons,
but
in
addition
to
that,
we're
also
the
space
that's
going
to
be
utilized
for
state
and
jury
court
with
us
having
the
size
of
our
facility.
We
can
still
socially
distance
everyone,
that's
in
the
building
and
be
able
to
safely
have
those
operations.
B
So
we
still
have
more
things
to
come
that
we're
working
on,
but
a
lot
of
it
is
making
sure
that
we
are
paying
attention
to
the
details,
coordinating
with
other
event,
venues
directors,
national
agencies,
to
make
sure
that
we
have.
These
policies
in
place,
so
we've
got
a
lot
going
on
and
we
will
be
the
mass
vaccination
site
for
this
for
the
city
of
columbus
in
the
county
of
muskogee.
B
D
B
During
the
next
coming
months
to
try
to
safely
bring
people
together,
that's.
A
Awesome,
that's
awesome,
and
you
mentioned
that
in
doing
this,
they're
they're,
it's
intentional
and
it's
strategic
you're
there,
organizations
and
agencies.
You
have
to
keep
in
contact
with,
and
I
I
imagine
that
many
people,
some
just
want
stuff
to
just
happen,
correct
and
you
can't
do
it
that
way.
There's
a
certain
strategy
to
it.
B
And
and
to
that
point
with
with
the
strategy
in
the
process
and
us
networking
it's
like
you
know,
I
tell
my
team-
and
this
is
a
true
statement-
there's
not
a
building
or
facility
in
the
entire
world
right
now.
That
has
the
perfect
answer,
there's
not
one.
So
we
are
essentially
all
in
this
together
and
some
buildings.
We
may
have
been
competitors
with
them
in
the
past,
but
we
are
literally
on
calls
with
them.
Every
month
I
have
weekly
calls.
B
I
was
on
a
call
last
week
with
att
stadium
and
a
week
a
call
before
that
I
was
on
a
call
with
the
national
football
league
as
to
their
plans
of
what
they're
going
to
do
next
season.
So
no
matter,
if
you're,
a
building
that
has
2
000
people
or
a
building
that
has
100
000
people,
we're
all
in
this
together
to
put
these
strategies
and
policies
in
place
where
we
can
safely
have
people
back
indoors.
A
B
It's
funny
you
say
that,
because
you
know
obviously
me
being
new
to
columbus.
I
did
not
know
that
graduations
was
such
a
big
deal
here
in
columbus
and
when
the
word
got
out
from
the
media
reaching
out
to
me
to
just
citizens
reaching
out
to
me
I
mean
my
phone
was
blowing
off
the
hook,
so
the
plan
is
to
do
a
hybrid
of
both
and
it's
dependent
upon
the
organization
that
we're
working
with.
B
We
will
have
some
driving
graduations
in
may
and
we'll
also
have
some
indoor
graduations,
but
we
are
definitely
making
sure
that
we
are
spending
the
amount
of
time
to
properly
plan
for
for
both.
So
we
will
have
indoor
graduations,
they
will
not
look
the
same
and
they
will
not
feel
the
same.
But
we
do
have
a
plan
in
place
that
we
think
is
going
to
be
sufficient
for
us
to
be
have
safely
to
have
people
back
into
our
building
for
graduations.
B
So,
in
addition
to
our
essential
events,
we
still
have
some
plans
for
some
outdoor
concerts,
which
were
a
huge
success
just
around
the
country
last
year
and
around
the
world,
and
we
were
able
to
do
a
couple
ourselves
in
our
parking
lot.
So
upcoming
this
summer
we
still
will
have
a
couple
of
outdoor
concerts
and
in
addition
to
that,
we'll
start
to
slowly
roll
into
what
we're
calling
right.
B
Now,
our
phase
two
of
reopening-
and
we
have
four
phases
to
our
reopening
plan
so
as
we
can
continue
to
get
vaccines
out
and
people
feeling
a
little
bit
better
and
restrictions
come
down,
we'll
start
to
roll
into
phase
three.
When
we
roll
into
phase
three,
that's
going
to
be
us
being
able
to
increase
the
amount
of
people
that
we
have
in
the
arena
and
that's
when
we'll
start
to
see
some
of
our
typical
events
that
we
traditionally
have
so
in
the
fall
we'll
be
looking
at.
D
C
E
C
B
2022,
we'll
start
to
see
more
of
our
events
where
we
have
5
000
or
more
attendees.
So
right
now,
it's
the
same
philosophy
that
I
want
the
citizens
and
the
community
to
know
that.
I'm
telling
my
team
we're
taking
it
one
day
at
a
time
and
one
event
at
a
time,
and
we
we
have
some
protocols
in
it
in
place.
That
may
be
uncomfortable
for
a
lot
and
it
will
be
different
and
it
will
not
feel
the
same.
A
B
David,
I'm
glad
you
brought
that
up,
because
I'm
really
excited
to
actually
announce.
We
just
relaunched
our
new
website
as
well.
So
we've
spent
about
three
to
four
months
working
with
our
internal
information,
technology
team
and
they've
done
a
phenomenal
job.
So
if
you
go
online
to
our
columbus
civiccenter.com,
you
will
see
our
new
website.
It's
we'll
have
information
about
know
before
you
go
so
it'll
have
you
know?
Obviously
everyone
has
to
have
their
mask
on.
We
are
asking
for
a
no
bag
policy
to
reduce
the
touch
points
for
people
coming
into
the
building.
B
So
the
new
website
has
a
lot
of
new
information
about
knowing
what
you
need
to
know
before
you
come
to
our
events.
Our
facebook
we've
got
a
fundraiser
drive-in
movie
this
friday
for
the
voices
of
the
valley.
So
definitely,
if
you
haven't
got
your
tickets
for
that,
we
want
you
to
go
online
and
purchase
tickets
for
the
voices
of
the
valley.
This
is
our
fundraising
event
that
we're
doing
for
them
and
we
will
be
airing.
The
movie
coco
got.
B
B
Yes,
so
I
mean
we
like,
I
said
we
haven't,
had
any
major
events
so
to
speak
in
the
building,
but
we
have
been
extremely
busy
from
a
day-to-day
standpoint.
You
know-
and
we're
probably
almost
busier
now
than
what
we've
been
in
the
past,
because
we
would
have
four
to
five
to
six
months
even
a
year
in
some
situations
to
plan
for
an
event.
B
Now
we're
getting
call
on
a
monday
for
an
activation
that
we
have
to
do
on
wednesday,
and
so
my
team
has
been
extremely
flexible
and
have
adapted
to
the
changes
that
we
need
to,
because
we
have
to
be
accessible
to
the
community
from
a
social
distancing
standpoint.
So
this
new
website
is
just
it's.
It's
a
lot.
B
This
is
a
21st
century,
so
to
speak,
technology
that
we
are
now
implementing
and
the
goal
is
for
us
to
increase
the
times
that
or
decrease
the
amount
of
time
it
takes
for
people
to
get
into
our
building
and
also
it's
more
protection
and
more
safety,
because
these
magnetometers
are
going
to
be
able
to
find
any
kind
of
objects
that
we
don't
want
allowed
into
the
building.
So
you
know
that's
that's
one
of
the
upgrades
that
we
were
able
to
bring
and
that's
my
push.
B
A
E
Hi,
I'm
charney
ware
executive
director
here
at
keep
columbus
beautiful
columbus
we've
got
a
problem
with
litter,
illegal
dumping
and
litter
causes
an
increase
in
blight
and
a
decrease
in
property
values.
Litter
can
be
an
eyesore
and
aiden
crime
and
not
to
mention
it's
illegal.
Why
should
you
care
about
litter?
Let's
count
the
ways
more
than
10
million
dollars
in
labor
are
spent
picking
up
trash
citizens,
throw
on
the
grounds
of
our
beautiful
state
of
georgia.
E
Studies
show
that
80
percent
of
that
trash
is
generated
on
lands
and
ends
up
in
our
waterways,
which
threatens
our
marine
life.
So
please
do
the
right
thing:
columbus
do
not
litter
or
you
will
pay
the
price
how
you
can
help
you
can
report
any
offense
of
littering
to
3-1-1
by
providing
their
tag
number
a
vehicle
description
and
the
location
where
you
saw
the
litter
take
place
so
columbus.
A
Welcome
back
to
columbus
connections,
we
are
talking
new
things
happening
in
columbus.
Now,
if
there
is
one
thing
that
has
happened
a
lot
in
this
past
year,
it
has
been
emergencies.
Well,
columbus
has
a
new
emergency
manager
as
a
matter
of
fact,
and
he
has
the
duty
of
handling
the
covet
19
pandemic.
So,
yes,
I'm
about
to
introduce
you
to
the
man
who's
going
to
cure
the
coronavirus.
A
No,
but
he
is
working
very
hard
to
make
sure
that
all
of
our
citizens
stay
safe.
He
is
mr
chance
corbett.
He
is
the
manager
and
director
of
the
emergent
I'm
going
to
mess
that
up.
Okay,
emergency
manager
he's
mr
chance
corbett
he's
the
emergency
manager
for
columbus
and
he's
here
to
talk
to
us
today.
Welcome
chance.
F
Well,
you
know
the
mayor
has
put
his
confidence
in
to
start.
You
know
getting
people
vaccinated
in
the
community
we
working
when
we're
working
with
the
department
of
public
health
as
well
as
now
gma
coming
to
town.
So
we
have
some
good
resources
and
we're
wanting
to
you
know,
keep
everybody
as
safe
as
possible.
Yeah.
F
Yeah
we
were,
we
were
very
happy
to
hear.
We
had
had
some
hints
that
it
might
be
coming.
We
were
already
preparing.
We
had
already
ran
three
large
vaccination
sites
at
the
columbus
civic
center.
The
first
one
was
only
about
380
vaccines
in
arms.
F
The
the
second
one
was
a
little
over
500
and
the
third
one
we
we
were
going
for
a
thousand
and
we
ended
up
doing
1580
that
day,
which
was
a
great
number
for
us,
but
now
that
we
know
jim
gma's
coming
and
the
site
they
have
chosen
is
the
same
site
that
we
had
and
they're
using
almost
the
same
layout
that
we
were
doing
so.
We
know
it
was
successful.
F
We
had
some
good
feedback,
but
gma
will
start
on
march,
17th
and
they're,
going
to
run
for
about
13
weeks
and
they're,
going
to
start
off
doing
1100
shots
a
day
to
do
that.
We
just
have
to
have
people
go
and
sign
up
on
gma's
site
to
to
come
and
get
the
vaccine,
and
it's
a
real
easy
one.
It's
myvaccinegeorgia.com.
F
Yeah
very
easy
myvaccinegeorgia.com
they
go,
they
sign
up,
they
check,
check,
muskogee,
county
or
honestly
any
county.
They
live
in
if
they're.
If
they're,
they
can
live
across
georgia
and
come
all
the
way
over
here
and
get
it
if
they
want
to.
But
obviously,
if
you
check
muskogee
county
they're,
going
to
refer
you
to
the
columbus
site
and
we're
hoping
that
we
have
cars
lined
up
and
ready
to
get
vaccine,
and
the
last
thing
we
want
to
do
is
have
the
vaccine
ready
and
not
not
have
people
signing
up
for
yeah
yeah.
F
It
is
the
two
dose
it
is
the
pfizer
at
this
point
now,
obviously,
if
they
get
more
of
the
of
the
moderna
or
the
one,
one
dose
johnson
and
johnson,
that
may
change,
but
right
now,
they're
starting
off
with
the
pfizer.
You
know
someone
who's
already
had
both
my
shots
had
very
little
effect.
In
fact,
the
only
thing
I
had
was
a
maybe
a
little
loss
of
energy
for
just
a
little
while
it
I
encourage
people
to
get
it.
F
F
So
jim
I'll
actually
tell
you
when
you're
there,
when
your
date
is
to
come
back
and
get
your
your
next
one,
typically
a
28
day
window
there
that
you
know
before
you
come
back
and
get
the
second
one
and
they'll
tell
you
where
it
is.
It's
going
to
be
at
the
civic
center
again
they're
going
to
have
a
second
dose
there
as
well.
Okay,.
A
F
F
A
great
layout,
you
know
rob
landers
at
the
civic
center
has
been
the
best
partner
anybody
could
have
in
this.
When
I
first
reached
out
to
rob
and
said
hey,
we
need
this
location
is
absolutely
come
on
and
it's
been
the
same
way
with
jima
coming
and
you
could
imagine
with
all
the
events
and
things
he's
got
that
he's
trying
to
do,
whether
it's
hockey
or
anything
else.
F
D
F
A
F
Yeah,
so
it
is
for
georgia
residents,
it's
a
georgia
program,
georgia,
emergency
management
agency.
You
know
in
a
lot
of
cases
in
like
region
eye
which
was
our
healthcare
region
with
piedmont.
F
They
were
letting
people
if
they
worked
in
columbus,
come
and
get
vaccinated
if
they
fell
in
the
tears.
If
someone
signs
up
for
it,
we're
not
going
to
turn
them
away,
we're
not
going
to
have
a
car
here
in
the
middle
of
it
and
we're
turning
people
out.
That
would
be
counterproductive,
but
the
goal
is
to
get
shots
and
arms
of
georgia
residents
gotcha.
F
So
you
have
two
options
here:
if,
if
you
don't
have
a
computer
and
I'll
give
you
the
number
to
display
as
well,
if
you
don't
have
a
computer,
there's
also
a
phone
number
that
you
can
call
and
we'll
make
sure
the
citizen
service
center
has
that
as
well
the
311
so
that
they
they
can
share
that
number.
But
if
you
go
to
myvaccinegeorgia.com
it's
going
to
walk
you
through
the
system,
you
can.
F
You
can
pick
the
location
where
you
live
muskogee
county
and
as
they
start
scheduling
it,
it
will
actually
tell
you
the
date
and
the
time
that
you
need
to
be
at
for
it
right
now
when
you're
pre-registering,
which
is
what
people
have
been
doing
up
till
this
point,
it
should
put
you
in
a
queue
and
you
get
an
email
saying
you
will
get
your
date
and
time
to
come,
so
we
feel,
like
probably
monday.
Some
of
those
people
that
have
already
pre-registered
are
going
to
start
getting
their
dates
and
times
to
come.
A
A
A
F
It
has
been
great
first
off,
we've
had
full
support
of
the
mayor's
office
and
then
council.
In
fact,
we've
had
council
members
out
on
site
at
the
vaccination
clinic
we've.
We
feel
like
the
support
of
columbus
fire
and
ems
the
sheriff's
office,
the
police
department,
engineering,
public
works,
we've
we've
leveraged,
all
of
them
all
of
their
support.
To
make
this
happen,
whether
it
was
blocking
roads
or
traffic
control,
or
the
message
board
signs
that
we
had
out.
F
My
first
two
months
have
been
pretty
busy,
but
I
can
tell
you
that
the
blessing
that
I
have
seen
is
the
ability
of
our
public
safety
personnel
and
our
other
city
personnel
just
to
work
together
to
make
it
happen.
It
has
been
very
refreshing
to
see
so
the
phone
number
I'll
just
call
this
number
out
is.
A
A
Absolutely
now
one
more
thing
that
people
been
asking
about:
okay,
we've
got
our
vaccinations,
we're
nice
and
healthy
when
will
pools,
and
when
will
things
open
up
for
the
summer,
because
these
kids
over
the
summer
and
this
quarantine,
it's
going
to
make
me
go
crazy.
So
we're
going
to
talk
about
it,
we
have
holly
browder
who's,
going
to
tell
us
about
it.
When
we
come
back,
don't
go
anywhere.
E
Hi,
I'm
charnae
ware
executive
director
here
at
keep
columbus
beautiful
columbus
we've
got
a
problem
with
litter,
illegal
dumping
and
litter
causes
an
increase
in
blight
and
a
decrease
in
property
values.
Litter
can
be
an
eyesore
and
aid
in
crime
and
not
to
mention
it's
illegal.
Why
should
you
care
about
litter?
Let's
count
the
ways
more
than
10
million
dollars
in
labor
are
spent
picking
up
trash
citizens,
throw
on
the
grounds
of
our
beautiful
state
of
georgia.
E
Studies
show
that
80
percent
of
that
trash
is
generated
on
lands
and
ends
up
in
our
waterways,
which
threatens
our
marine
life.
So
please
do
the
right
thing:
columbus
do
not
litter
or
you
will
pay
the
price
how
you
can
help
you
can
report
any
offense
of
littering
to
311
by
providing
their
tag
number
a
vehicle
description
and
the
location
where
you
saw
the
litter
take
place
so
columbus.
A
Welcome
back
to
columbus
connections,
we've
talked
to
the
civic
center,
we've
talked
about
vaccinations
and
now
we're
going
to
talk
about
this
coming
summer,
parks
and
recreation.
You
know
you
want
to
hear
about
pools
and
parks.
What's
going
to
happen,
we
have
none
other
than
our
director
holly
broder
who's,
going
to
talk
about
that
she's
on
location,
she's,
going
to
talk
about
it,
stay
tuned.
C
This
morning,
I
hope
to
give
you
a
quick
update
of
the
outdoor
pools
and
where
we
are,
for
the
summer,
very
quickly
go
through
where
we
are
so
this
summer.
Our
expectation
is
that
we
will
open,
rigdon
pool
and
double
church's
pool.
We
will
open
those
on
may
26th
keeping
in
line
with
what
we've
done
most
summers
when
children
get
out
of
school.
C
As
you
know,
most
of
our
lifeguards
are
high
school
students,
and
so
we
wait
for
the
school
year
to
end
so
this
year
this
will
coincide
with
when
students
get
out
of
school
with
may
26th.
Unfortunately,
salmon
road
and
shirley
winston
will
stay
closed
as
they
have
for
the
last
couple
of
summers,
as
we
do
not
have
the
funding
currently
to
reopen
those
two
facilities
for
those
of
you.
In
the
years
past,
we
have
been
fortunate
enough
to
have
a
passport
to
summer.
C
I've
got
a
quick
picture
on
the
screen
here.
That
shows
you
who
many
of
our
partners
have
been,
but
un.
Unfortunately,
this
year,
due
to
covid,
many
of
these
programs
are
not
available.
They're
not
fully
operational
they're,
just
not
in
the
capacity
to
be
able
to
partner
with
us,
so
we're
not
able
to
offer
our
past
this
summer,
because
many
of
them
are
not
able
to
do
the
things
for
us
that
they've
done
traditionally.
C
So
we
felt
like
this
year
is
just
not
the
year
for
us
to
do
our
passport
to
columbus,
so
we're
going
to
forego
our
passport
this
year
and
hope
that
next
summer,
most
of
our
partners
will
be
back
to
normal
and
we'll
be
able
to
continue
that
that
huge
passport
that
has
been
so
successful
in
many
years
and
hopefully
add
more
things
to
it,
because,
ultimately,
that
was
our
plan
pool
operations
for
this
summer.
What
would
that
look
like
pool
capacity?
Obviously
with
covid?
C
C
The
capacity
will
be
limited
based
on
what
we
can
handle,
keeping
people
safe
reservations
will
be
made
weekly,
you
can
call
up,
citizens
can
call
to
the
pools
and
make
reservations
the
time
slots
will
be
an
hour
and
a
half
wednesday
through
sunday,
keeping
with
the
hours
that
we
normally
have
and
the
slots
are
there
so
that
we
can
clean
and
be
in
between.
C
Of
course,
social
distancing
in
and
around
the
pools
will
be
enforced,
but
at
least
it'll
get
excuse
me
give
us
the
opportunity
to
offer
the
pools
this
summer.
One
of
the
bigger
hurdles
that
we
face
right
now,
obviously
is
lifeguards.
That's
something
we
face
in
a
regular
season.
This
year
is
no
different.
C
We're
currently
we've
been
open.
Looking
for
lifeguards
for
quite
some
time,
we're
looking
for
about
25
outdoor
lifeguards,
so
I
mentioned
that
so
if
anyone
knows
anyone,
I'm
looking
for
summer
employment,
we
are
certainly
looking
for
outdoor
lifeguards
as
well
as
indoor
lifeguards,
but
certainly
this
summer
is
no
different.
We
are
definitely
going
to
be
looking
for
outdoor
lifeguards
so
that
we
can
be
sure
we
can
open
the
pools.
C
One
thing
I
did
want
to
bring
up
is
that
rigdon
pool
was
built
at
the
same
time
that
solomon,
road
and
shirley
winston
was
built.
They
were
all
opened
in
2002
and
so
rigdon
is
currently
seeing
the
same
type
things
that
we
saw
with
salman
and
with
shirley
winston.
So
I
wanted
to
make
mention
of
that
today,
because
we
will
be
able
to
open
it
this
year,
but
it's
very
likely
that
I
may
come
to
you
next
year
without
any
additional
funding.
C
C
This
is
what
it
looks
like
as
of
now,
so
we
will
do
our
best.
We
have
great
staff,
along
with
mr
crittel's
staff,
with
public
works,
so
we
will
do
everything
we
can
to
get
the
pools
open
and
we'll
have
them
operational
this
summer.
But
again
this
has
to
be
addressed.
These
are
things
for
the
future,
just
like
with
shirley
winston
and
salmon
road
that
we
cannot
continue
to
operate
just
with
huge
cracks
and
issues
that
we
continue
to
see
with
operating
systems
that
we're
going
to
have
to
address.
C
But
what
does
the
future
hold?
We
all
know:
we've
had
a
lot
of
conversation
over
the
last
five
or
six
years
as
to
what
opportunities
could
exist.
Obviously,
for
us,
these
are
things
that
we
would
like
to
see
put
on
the
splost.
These
are
things
that
we
know
our
citizens
have
asked
for
for
the
future,
and
so
these
are
a
couple
of
examples
just
to
give
people
opportunities
to
see.
You
know
what
what
do
the
options
look
like?
Obviously,
we
could
do
splash
pads.
C
That
was
one
of
the
things
that
we
brought
forth
at
one
point,
because
it's
a
lot
more
economical
for
the
city
to
offer,
but
obviously
these
are
things
that
people
like
you
can
see
the
different
options
here.
Here's
another
slide.
These
are
some
more
options
you
can,
like.
I
said
you
can
see
from
splash
pads
to
indoor
facilities,
add-on
facilities,
but
one
of
the
things
I
want
to
mention
here
is
all
these
pictures
that
you
see.
These
are
all
our
competitors.
C
So
all
these
facilities
that
you
see
all
these
brightly
colored
activities.
These
are
all
facilities
in
the
state
of
georgia
right
now
that
are
parks
and
rec
facilities.
So
I
know
that
all
these
other
cities
can
do
it.
So
can
we
we've
just
got
to
find
the
funding
to
be
able
to
do
so,
but
these
are
certainly
opportunities
that
we
can
have
here
in
columbus.
We've
just
got
to
find
a
way
to
do
so
so.
D
C
Ma'am,
that's
correct,
they
would
need
to
be
upgraded
and
rebuilt
and
remodeled
like
we
did
double
churches.
You'll
remember
back
in
2009.
I
believe
it
was
we.
We
took
double
churches
and
we
remodeled
it
at
the
time.
We
have
not
done
that
with
these
other
pools.
D
And
I
I
don't
want
to
put
you
on
the
spot,
but
do
you
happen
to
have
a
ballpark
and
it
would
be
a
ballpark
figure
that
you're
needing
for
each
or
for
both
of
those
pools.
C
Sure,
certainly,
it
really
boils
down
to
what
the
community
wants.
It
boils
down
to
whether
we
go
from
a
splash
splash
pad
type
operation,
or
do
we
go
back
to
something
similar
to
what
we
have
when
the
facilities
that
we
currently
have
were
built,
so
the
double
I'm
sorry,
solomon,
road,
rigdon
and
shirley,
when
they
were
put
in
in
2002,
they
were
1.9
million
dollars.
So
obviously
that
was
20
years
ago.
So
I
can
let
all
of
you
each
each.
Each
of
them
were
1.9
million
dollars.
C
So
I
mean
obviously
time
20
years,
I'm
guessing
they're,
probably
about
twice
that
now,
probably-
and
a
lot
of
it,
like
I
said,
will
depend
on
what
amenities
we
ask
for
what
we're
looking
for
going
forward,
whether
we
add
a
splash
pad
component,
whether
it's
lap
pool
whether
it
has
slides
you
know,
a
lot
of
facilities
nowadays
are
having
all
of
those
things
and
more.
A
lot
of
them
are
added
as
components
as
part
of
a
rec
center.
C
I
know
a
new
rec
center
that
just
got
put
in
clayton
county
one
of
the
newest
ones
in
the
state
right
now
and
part
of
that
was
a
brand
new
rec
center
with
a
couple
of
laps,
not
a
huge
natatorium,
but
a
couple
of
laps
and
they're,
also
adding
in
if
you
will,
the
look
of
a
shirley
winston
where
it
has
the
the
slides
and
it
has
the
wade
pool
and
it
has
the
splash
pad.
So
it
gives
their
community
access
both
year
round,
so
kids
can
go
inside.
C
G
G
I
know
we
don't
have
the
funding
yet,
but
is
it?
Could
it
be
a
thought
process
of
the
picture
at
the
bottom
here
in
the
corner
where
it
looks
like
there's
a
pool
with
slides
and
things
indoors
and
parts
out
part
of
it
is
outdoors.
G
C
Sir
and
that's
what
a
lot
of
places
have
a
lot
of
places
do
go
to
that
now,
because
that
does
provide,
as
I
mentioned,
to
councilor
thomas,
that
sort
of
provides
the
best
of
both
worlds,
because
here
in
the
south,
it's
hot
a
lot
of
the
times.
So
you
would
have
the
outdoor
portion,
but
you
could
also
utilize
that
portion.
You
know
during
the
winter
months
and
the
times
were
closed,
and
it
would
also
help
us
defer.
Some
of
the
the
community
portion
could
use
that
versus
going
maybe
to
the
natatorium.
C
You
know
our
avid
just
community
that
just
wants
to
go
and
splash
around
and
have
fun
would
have
the
opportunity
to
do
so,
and
it
would
be
in
their
neighborhood
as
well,
so
that
people
have
the
option
all
over
the
city
to
use
our
facilities
so
starting
on
march
15th,
we
will
roll
out
the
reopening
of
the
recreation
centers.
So,
as
you
know,
we
have
eight
recreation
centers
here
in
columbus.
C
C
We
will
have
a
few
restrictions
when
people
come
back
as
far
as,
of
course,
social
distancing,
we'll
do
some
reservations,
I'm
just
trying
to
make
sure
that
we
keep
people
separated
while
they're
there
as
much
as
possible,
but
that's
that's
pretty
much
it
as
far
as
opening
the
rec
centers.
Also,
we
will
have
our
therapeutic
recreation
program,
we'll
start
back
on
march
15th
as
well.
C
We
will
do
reservations
there
with
that
program,
because
it's
a
very
popular
program
prior
to
covid,
we
would
average
about
40
participants
a
day
which
is
a
lot
for
that
particular
program.
Overall,
we
could
have
75
to
100
people
in
the
program,
but
we
would
see
about
40
on
average
every
day
we
can't
handle
that
many
people
and
keep
them
all
socially
distanced,
so
we're
going
to
do
reservations
and
try
to
give
everyone,
at
least
in
the
beginning,
the
opportunity
to
come
at
least
once
a
week.
C
They
have
been
having
a
program
they're
the
one
group
that
has
had
a
program,
the
entire
time
we've
been
gone.
They
have
had
a
virtual
program.
Our
staff
have
been
really
really
good
about
having
virtual
programs
specifically
for
that
particular
group.
They've
had
a
very
captive
audience
and
they've
had
programming
all
along,
not
that
we
haven't
offered
virtual
program
for
the
rest
of
the
community,
but
they
have
a
very
captive
audience
and
they've
continued
the
entire
time,
but
those
two
programs
will
come
back
online
on
march
15th.
C
In
addition,
we
also
bringing
back
brett
david's
studios.
They
will
come
back
on
march
15th,
and
so
we
will
do
reservations
there
as
well.
So,
as
you
can
see,
everything
is
going
to
have
some
reservations
when
we
come
back
and
that's
just
to
give
us
a
gradual
feel
to
see
how
many
people
want
to
come
back.
We
don't
know
what
we're
expecting.
We
don't
know
how
many
people
are
going
to
want
to
come
back
when
we
reopen.
C
This
just
gives
us
the
opportunity
to
sort
of
slowly
gradually
get
us
back
into
reopening
and
then
we'll.
You
know,
as
we
see
how
many
people
want
to
come
back,
we'll
gradually
grow
with
that
and
allow
more
people
to
make
more
reservations,
so
it
may
be
slow
in
the
beginning,
but
then
the
thought
process
behind
it
is
to
gradually
let
them
have
more
and
more
and
more.
C
But
we've
got
to
see
and
have
a
starting
point,
obviously,
because
we
don't
know
who's
out
there
and
who
who
expects
to
come
back
or
who
wants
to
come
back,
and
so
we
want
to
be
consistent.
We
want
to
be
fair
and
give
everybody
an
opportunity
in
the
beginning
and
not
knowing
how
many
people
want
to
come
back.
C
This
is
the
only
way
we
can
do
so
because
a
lot
of
our
programs
have
a
lot
of
participation,
and
so
the
only
way
for
us
to
do
it
is
to
try
to
be
fair,
but
certainly
with
the
recreation
centers.
We're
excited
to
be
able
to
be
reopening
and
have
the
kids
come
back
and
have
everybody
return
to
our
facilities.
