A
A
Unfortunately,
summer
is
also
a
time
when
we
see
a
rising
crime,
and
even
last
year
in
our
community
we
saw
a
big
jump
in
crime.
One
of
my
guests,
officiated,
eight
funerals
between
the
span
of
16
and
2017
and
that's
the
reason
she
and
another
dynamic
woman
in
the
community
are
here
to
talk
about
how
they're
helping
to
stop
crime.
I
have
with
me,
pastor
and
dr.
Delta
out
Lee,
as
well
as
community
champion
Rosalynn
Williams.
Are
you
doing
fine?
A
B
B
A
B
Goal
is
to
get
out
in
the
community
not
only
the
community
but
the
worst
communities
in
our
city
and
go
in
and
have
a
day
with
families
also
on
to
partner,
with
dbi
daily
broadcasting
this
summer
to
do
some
safe
summer
programs
in
the
housing
authority,
so
we're
boots
on
the
ground.
We
really
want
to
get
to
know.
People
know
their
hearts
and
to
believe
it
or
not.
Our
elderly
community
is
afraid
to
even
go
out
because
of
our
murders
and
homicides
in
Columbus
Georgia.
So.
B
Going
back
old
school,
where
we
sit
on
the
porch
with
families
and
get
to
know
folk
in
the
best
neighborhood
watches
your
nosy
neighbors
and
getting
to
know
folk
in
their
children
and
what
the
children
go
to
school.
So,
yes,
we
are
boots
on
the
ground.
We
don't
want
to
be
in
the
four
walls
any
longer
we
want
to
be
out
in
the
community.
What.
B
A
It
creates
that
sense
of
community
where
people
know
each
other.
People
are
more
trusting.
It
reduces
violence
in
a
way
of
just
bringing
that
community
aspect
back
to
it,
to
not
just
being
a
neighborhood
and
not
just
being
a
bunch
of
folks
living
around
each
other
being
people
that
know
each
other
people
that
care
about
each
other
people.
B
A
C
Mob
stands
for
mothers
of
black
boys
United,
and
it
is
a
nationwide
organization
of
women,
primarily
composed
of
black
mothers,
of
sons
who
have
gotten
together
in
wake
of
all
of
the
nationwide
violence
that
we've
seen
those
violent
acts
towards
our
young
man,
our
young
men
of
color
and
our
adult
men
as
well
or
starting
way
back
with
the
Trayvon
Martin
incident.
All
the
way
up
to
falando
Castillo
I
mean
we've
just
seen
over
and
over
again.
C
The
acts
of
violence
and
aggression
towards
boys
and
men
of
color
and
our
founder
depailler
McGruder
is
the
woman
who
decided
that
it
was
time
for
mothers
to
unite
and
to
mobilize
across
the
United
States
and
to
also
in
many
ways
put
boots
on
the
ground
and
start
to
have
these
courageous
conversations.
They'll
need
to
be
had,
particularly
with
members
of
the
law
enforcement.
A
C
Anyone
who
has
a
son,
anyone
who
is
concerned
about
the
state
of
affairs
of
our
children,
and
particularly
our
sons
that
event
will
be
June,
2nd
from
10:00
until
12:00
at
GW,
Carver,
High
School
in
their
auditorium,
and
we
are
just
asking
that
the
community
please
come
out
and
participate
in
this
event,
we'll
have
some
other
vendors
on
hand
not
to
sell
anything
but
for
informational
purposes.
The
Department
of
Juvenile
Justice
is
one
of
our
partners.
Kappa
Alpha
Phi
is
also
one
of
our
partners.
C
They
are
hopefully
going
to
have
a
table
set
up
to
do
some
recruiting
for
their
young
man's
organization,
which
is
called
the
normally
the
Kappa
League.
So
we
want
to
be
able
to
show
our
community
that
there
are
other
resources
available
and,
as
you
stated
earlier,
when
summertime
comes
around
the
incidences
of
little
petty
crimes
and
getting
into
a
lot
of
mischievous
things
takes
place.
So
we
want
to
provide
the
attendees
with
some
options
and
things
that
they
can
hopefully
get
their
students
or
children
engaged
in
over
the
summer
months
to
keep
them
safe
right.
A
That's
a
great
thing
because
when
these
incidents
happen,
two
things
often
happen
when
people
perceive
it
as
being
anti
law
enforcement,
which
is
in
the
cases
just
we're
saying
that
you
we're
taxpaying
citizens
as
well
right.
We
should
feel
like
we
have
that
same
protection
and
I
think
is
the
communication
part
of
it
right
there
a
lot
of
times.
A
Things
may
happen
because
of
just
a
misunderstanding:
when
people
are
policing
those
in
areas
that
they're
not
for
me,
where
they're
not
from
so
so
you're
bridging
there
and
another
thing
that
happens
is
people
always
say
somebody
should
do
something.
Someone
should
have
those
discussions.
I
have
no
discussions
proactively
right.
C
It's
always
better
to
be
proactive
than
reactive
by
the
time.
We're
in
a
reactive
stance
is
too
late.
So
again,
as
you
stated,
this
is
not
about
back
in
the
blue
or
not
back
in
the
blue.
This
is
not
what
the
issue
is
pertaining
to.
We
just
want
to
be
able
to
have
those
conversations
and
show
other
people
that
we're
human.
C
You
know
we're
we're
human
beings,
we
have
feelings,
we
are
not
monsters
or
people
to
be
feared
or
just
the
misconceptions
and,
and
we
miss
preconceptions
of
people
against
our
black
men
and
young
black
boys.
We
want
to
be
able
to
start
tearing
down
those.
You
know.
Pre
concept,
preconceived
notions
about
our
kids
and
about
our
about
our
men
and
so
noble
I.
C
Do
want
to
point
out
that
noble,
which
is
the
national
organization
of
black
law
enforcement
executives,
is
going
to
also
be
there
to
actually
host
the
workshop
okay
and
a
young
lady
by
the
name
of
special
agent
Trebor
Randall
from
noble
she
works
with
the
GBI.
She
will
be
the
guest
speaker,
so
I
will
not
be
there
trying
to
speak
on
this
subject.
We
have
an
expert
coming
in
who
will
be
addressing
the
audience
and.
A
That's
that's
a
great
reason
to
come
because
I
know
what
some
of
you
are
at
home.
They're
saying
this
is
a
very
polarizing
topic.
That's
beyond
us.
Some
people
are
completely
on
one
side.
Some
people
eat
ly
on
the
other
side,
but
usually
when
we
talk
we're
saying
a
lot
of
the
same
thing.
Yes,
we
don't
want
anybody
that
is
innocent
to
be
harassed
and
killed
and
we're
also
saying
yeah.
A
C
This
workshop
is
going
to
teach
our
young
people
how
to
interact
properly
with
law
enforcement.
Now
we
know
that
in
certain
circumstances
you
can
do
everything
by
the
book
and
do
everything
correct
and
things
feel
can
go
left,
but
in
other
incidences,
sometimes
we
don't
always
react
properly
and
we
elevate
the
situation,
and
so
we
want
to
teach
our
children
or
Special.
Agent
Randall
is
going
to
teach
our
children
how
to
properly
conduct
themselves
how
to
interact
properly
with
law
enforcement
so
that
they
can
make
it
home
safely.
B
A
Funerals,
no
more
funerals,
that's
what
we're
talking
about
this
summer,
making
it
home
safely.
First
thing
that
you
need
to
do
is
make
sure
you
come
to
the
workshop,
because
when
something
happens,
it's
easy
to
get
on
social
media
and
talk
about
it
and
complain
about
it
and
say
what
somebody
should
be
doing
or
what
somebody
isn't
doing.
So,
here's
your
opportunity
to
come
make
your
voice
heard
and,
more
importantly,
listen
to
someone
else's
voice
and
learn
and
listening
and
come
together
as
a
community.
Also,
that's
listen.
C
A
C
B
To
lead
them
back
to
faith
based
on
communities
back
to
church,
where
things
are
very
important
as
well,
so
we're
excited
about
it.
We're
grass
root
we're
fairly
new
we're
powerful.
We
had
just
showed
up:
we've
been
around,
we've
been
in
the
community
for
a
long
time,
we're
just
bringing
it
together
and
there's
other
organizations,
that's
doing
a
great
great
work,
but
we
want
to
bring
it
all
together
under
one
umbrella.
So
we
can
make
an
impact.
