A
Welcome
to
ion
Columbus
I'm
your
host
Robin
Wallace
in
the
studio
joining
me
today
from
Columbus
area
Habitat
for
Humanity
I
have
executive
director
Louise
furless
hi.
Thank
you
so
much
for
being
here
all
right.
Well,
it's
time!
I!
First
of
all,
if
fan
people
aren't
familiar
with
what
Habitat
for
Humanity
is.
What's
out,
there
talk
a
little
bit
about
it.
We're.
B
A
local
nonprofit
housing
provider
we
offer
housing
opportunities,
homeownership
program
for
lower-income
families.
We
sell
our
houses
out
of
zero
percent
mortgage
and
that's
the
bonus.
We
depend
on
community
support
for
volunteers
and
funds,
and
so
it's
a
community
project
for
our
communities
for
people
that
want
to
own
their
own
home.
Ok.
So
how
long
have
you
been
I'm
I've,
been
here
three
years
but
it'll
be
almost
20
years.
I've
been
involved
with
Habitat,
okay.
B
A
A
B
A
B
B
B
B
Register
that
morning
I
am
at
8:30,
but
you
can
go
online
now
at
our
website
and
there's
a
page
for
sign
up
and
you
can
register
early.
We
encourage
early
registration
because
we
have
bags
to
hand
out
with
shirts
and
everything
and
we're
going
to
be
official
with
the
little
bits
with
the
numbers.
Ours.
A
A
B
Go
for
our
housing
projects,
we
try
and
serve
anywhere
from
nine
to
twelve
families
a
year
and
we
build
new
houses
and
we
rehab
houses
and
we're
going
to
begin
to
in
a
critical
home
repair
program
for
existing
homeowners
that
fit
in
our
same
criteria.
We
serve
the
about
60%
of
the
median
income
for
all
of
Columbus
and
Muscogee
County
area.
That's
our
service
area.
The
funding
goes
for
the
construction
projects.
We
have
a
staff
of
12
with
our
office,
Construction
Group
and
the
restore
so
the
funds
build
houses,
I'm.
B
My
one
of
my
favorite
ones
is
from
a
long
time
ago.
In
fact
it's
from
one
of
the
first
houses
that
I
was
involved
with
and
they
had
two
young
boys.
One
was
about
11
and
the
other
one,
maybe
13
and
after
they've
been
in
their
house
for
about
a
year.
I
saw
one
of
them
in
the
local
Kmart
store
and
he
was
walking
towards
me
with
his
other.
His
other
buddies
and
I
thought.
B
You
never
know
how
teenagers
are
going
to
react
when
you
see
them
right
and
he
stopped
right
then,
and
he
turned
to
his
friends.
He
said
this
is
a
lady
that
built
our
house
and
I
was
kind
of.
Ok
I
had
a
lot
of
help,
but
he
I
was
very
proud
of
that
and
he
ended
up
graduating
high
school
and
everything,
and
he
was
just
very
happy
to
actually
live
in
a
house
and
not
an
apartment,
yeah
and.
B
B
Not
the
year
and
grateful
people
and
a
lot
of
giving
people,
people
come
out
and
spend
hours
that
just
want
to
help
some
come
in
groups.
We
have
many
come
as
individuals
either
help
at
the
store
they'll
build
projects
for
us
on
their
own
they'll
they'll,
go
to
the
site
and
work
every
Saturday
for
months
on
end
and
there's
some
real
giving
people
out
there
Wow.
B
B
A
B
Also,
we
are
homeowners,
have
a
specialized
kind
of
extra
budget
for
in
their
house
if
they
need
other
things
or
they
want
to
personalize
some
of
their
items
and
so
many
times
we'll
get
things
in
the
store
that
they
like
and
so
they're
able
to
get
lower
cost
items
from
our
store
for
their
house
ceiling,
fans
or
appliances.
We're
surprised
that
the
places
we
get
that
aren't
very
old
and
perfectly
fine,
and
so.
B
A
B
A
B
B
B
Else
is
how
far
down
our
dating,
so
that's
Carly,
and
so
the
rock
of
face
is,
it
is
a
fundraiser,
but
it's
mostly
an
awareness
I.
Just
let
people
know
we're
out
there
and
what
we
do,
and
it
is
it's
a
walk
of
faith
all
the
time
we
you
know
nonprofits,
you
can
have
a
budget,
but
you
never
know
quite
you're
going
to
need
it
or
not,
and
and
so
we
we
want
to
spend
the
money
we
get
in
on
our
project.
So
that's
just
and.
B
And
that's
been
one
of
my
favorite
parts
about
it
as
well.
We
we
work
with
everybody.
We
we
have
a
diverse
board.
We
have
a
diverse
staff,
we
you
never
know
who's
going
to
be
at
the
job
site.
You
just
don't
know
you
don't
know
who
it
is.
If
they're
a
CEO
of
a
company
or
if
they're,
a
retired,
teacher
or
or
college
student,
we
even
had
one
young
college
student,
he
was
only
17
when
he
started
a
college
and
he
came
and
worked
and
he
loved
it.
He
just
loved
it.
B
B
A
B
A
About
them,
okay,
so
the
walk
of
faith
is
coming
up
again.
Saturday
May
20
in
Uptown,
big
dog
running
company,
is
running
the
race
for
y'all,
so
people
that
are
runners
or
walkers
and
who
frequent
those
know
that
they
can
go
to
Big,
Dog
and
register
through
them
and
then
through
your
website
is
yellow
and
again
tell
me
what
your
website
is:
Columbus
area,
habitat,
calm,.
