A
B
Hello
and
welcome
to
this
special
well,
this
inaugural
edition
of
our
new
program,
kcbc
news
now,
of
course,
columbus,
consolidated,
government
and
ccgtv
has
always
been
a
friend
of
the
environment
and
also
of
keep
columbus
beautiful
and
keep
columbus.
Beautiful
is
bringing
us
a
brand
new
program,
a
brand
new
person
brand
new
director
brand
new
host
of
this
program.
I'd
like
to
introduce
you
to
this
person,
miss
lisa,
thomas
cutt,.
B
C
Okay,
first
of
all,
I
would
like
to
say:
I'm
excited
to
be
leading
kcbc
and
working
with
the
community
and
all
the
wonderful
volunteers.
As
far
as
columbus
consolidated
government,
I
have
been
with
the
city
quite
a
quite
some
time
so
long.
I
don't
even
want
to
tell
the
year
okay
well,
I
would
have
thought.
C
Okay,
that's
nice!
Well,
I
started
out
back
in
the
day
at
municipal
court,
I
worked
for
the
clerk
of
municipal
court,
the
animal
former
clerk
vivian
creighton
bishops,
that's
where
I
got
my
start
and
I
transitioned
over
to
the
columbus
civic
center,
and
I
was
there
for
roughly
about
almost
18
years,
we'll
say
so.
I've
been
around
the
city
for
quite
a
while.
I'm
not
a
newbie.
B
C
I
came
up
with
kcbc
news
because,
right
now
our
environmental
issues
are
so
important.
Climate
change
is
real,
it's
important
for
us
to
protect
our
natural
resources,
and
you
know
it's
important.
We
want
to
give
important
information,
but
we
also
want
to
give
make
it
a
little.
Fun
also
give
the
important
facts,
but
have
some
fun
while
we're
doing
it
also
we're
going
to
make.
C
B
C
Wow
that
could
go
all
you
sure
we
got
time
for
that.
We
have
so
many
things.
We
want
to
keep
the
integrity
of
what
has
already
transpired
with
kcbc.
We
want
to
keep
it
and
just
put
a
fresh
new
twist
on
it.
We're
going
to
do
some
of
the
things
like
help,
the
hooch
we're
going
to
do
the
paper
stretching
days,
we're
going
to
continue
to
go
into
schools,
but
we're
just
going
to
bump
it
up
a
notch.
C
They'll
get
an
opportunity
to
be
highlighted
on
a
more
regular
basis,
because
I
really,
when
I
say
community
show
miss
maggie
down
the
road
she
may
have
a
beautiful
garden
and
some
and
did
great
things
in
her
community,
there's
a
chance,
an
opportunity
for
her
her.
What
she's
doing
to
be
featured
on
our
show
wow
yeah,
we're
gonna,
highlight
you
know
it's
called.
We
got
this
new
hashtag
because
we
are
affiliate
of
keep
america
beautiful
exactly
and
it's
called
doing
beautiful
things.
C
B
Wow
wow
well
I'll
tell
you
I'm
excited
now.
Of
course,
I
normally
don't
come
from
behind
the
cameras,
I'm
behind
the
scenes
producing
directing
and
doing
other
things,
but
I
I
really
really
wanted
to
be
here
with
you,
because
you
and
I
really
go
back
and
I
really
really
wanted
to
say
welcome
to
ccgtv-
and
I
understand
that
you,
this
is
our
inaugural
show
and
you
have
a
guest
today.
So
tell
us
what
to
expect
and
before
we
go
to
our
commercial
break.
C
We're
going
to
have
a
special
guest
somebody
that
is
has
been
near
and
dear
to
me
in
my
new
capacity
he's
my
go-to
guy,
so
stay
tuned,
you'll
enjoy
this
we'll
be
right
back,
I
love
columbus,
columbus.
Georgia
is
so
beautiful.
That's
why
our
mission
at
keep
columbus
beautiful
is
all
about
engaging
and
educating
individuals
to
take
a
greater
responsibility
for
enhancing
beautification,
protecting
our
environment
and
eliminating
litter
and
blight.
The
best
way
to
be
a
good
steward
of
our
environment
is
by
the
three
r's
reducing
waste,
reusing
items
and
recycling.
D
C
Welcome
back
to
kcbc
news-
and
I
am
really
excited
about
our
next
guest-
it
well
actually
our
first
guest.
It
is
someone
very
special
to
me,
william
kent
and
since
I
become
the
new
executive
director
for
keep
columbus
beautiful,
he
can
tell
you
that
he's
pretty
popular
with
me,
one
of
my
favorite
guys.
So
let
me
introduce
you
to
again
for
those
of
you
who
don't
know
to
william
kent.
He
is
the
chairperson
for
our
keep
columbus
georgia,
beautiful,
commission
hi,
william.
It's.
C
Great
to
see
you
all
so
you
know
you've
been
a
blessing
to
me
coming
in
in
my
new
role,
and
I
want
to
say
thank
you
publicly,
because
you've
been
great
in
a
real
assets.
I'm
thinking
that,
sometimes
you
probably
look
at
it
from.
Oh
god,
that's
her
again,
but
really
thank
you
so
much!
You
made
it
this
transition
very
easy
for
me.
Well.
E
And
I
knew
coming
on
board
that
it
was
going
to
be
a
challenge
and-
and
I
knew
that
you
have
a
lot
of
things-
that
you're
going
to
have
to
take
care
of
and
then
and
trying
to
work
between
the
commission
and
with
the
non-profit
board
is
never
easy.
And
yet
all
these
programs
you're
walking
into
and-
and
I
really
appreciate
all
the
things
that
you
have
done
and
karen
has
worked
really
hard
to
get
the
the
commission
back
up
and
running.
I'm
proud.
So.
C
E
C
Before
we
talk
about
that,
you
are
also
a
very
important
figure
here.
You
work
for
columbus
water
works.
Well,.
E
For
columbus,
waterworks
have
been
for
29
years,
I'm
the
manager
of
environmental
services,
basically
trying
to
make
sure
we
comply
with
all
the
rules
and
regulations
that
the
epa
and
epd
puts
down,
and
also
to
make
sure
that
we
have
clean
water
for
all
of
our
customers
and
make
sure
we
treat
our
our
waste
water
or
the
water
we
receive
from
our
customers
to
a
very
high
standard.
Before
we
discharge
it
back
to
the
river.
C
Absolutely
and
that's
why
the
chattahoochee
river
is
so
important
and
y'all
do
a
great
job
where
we
in
columbus
are
very
fortunate,
as
some
of
the
other
cities
are
not
to
where
we
can
actually
drink
tap
water.
That's.
E
A
big
deal,
yes,
you
can,
and
one
of
our
main
focus
is
the
river
to
make
sure
that
it
is
safe
for
everyone.
We
test
that
river
constantly
out
every
week
five
days
a
week
to
make
sure
that
the
bacteria
levels
and
other
pollutants
are
not
at
a
level
that
will
harm
anyone
and
plus
we.
We
make
sure
that
the
the
what
we're
bringing
into
our
drinking
water
plant
that
we
can
treat
to
a
very
high
standard,
which
we
always
do
so.
C
Okay,
awesome
awesome,
like
I
said,
I've
been
most
of
my
life,
columbus,
georgia
and
I've
always
enjoyed
having
great
water.
It's
never
been
a
problem,
and
I
know
you
in
your
capacity
you're
going
to
be
one
of
the
people
at
columbus
water
make
the
works,
making
sure
that
happens
and
keep
going.
You.
E
C
And
william,
let
me
ask
you
this:
what
would
you
say
balancing
because
you
have
you
know
with
the
pandemic?
That's
happened
and
so
many
people
being
short-staffed.
You
seem
to
do
it
seamlessly.
You
know
you,
you
work
at
water
works
in
an
important
job.
You
help
with
your
community.
How
do
you
balance
it
all.
C
Absolutely
and
that's
so
important
about
passing
along
because
that's
why
so
important
with
what
we
do
with
this
non-profit.
You
know
teaching
the
kids
are
so
important
to
us.
Yes,
training
them,
because
they
are,
you
know
small
portion
of
what
we
have
right:
the
population
right
now,
a
big
portion
but
100
of
our
future.
So
it's
important
to
pass
it
along
and
I'm
pretty
sure
you
mentor
many
of
your
employees.
C
Absolutely
okay:
let's
move
on
now.
How
long
have
you
been
part
of
keep
columbus,
beautiful
georgia.
E
I've
volunteered
for
29
years
and
was
on
the
commission
when
gloria
western
smart
was
here
for
at
least
six
years
and
then
moved
over
to
the
non-profit
board.
People
need
to
understand,
there's
a
difference
between
kcbc
and
kcgbc
in
the
respect
that
kcbc,
because
it's
under
the
city,
you
cannot
fundraise
and
we
need
to
fundraise
for
a
lot
of
the
programs
that
we
put
on
like
the
one
we're
going
to
talk
about
today,
help
the
hooch.
E
We
had
to
create
a
non-profit
board
that
actually
could
fundraise
and
handle
the
money
because,
like
the
columbus
water
wars,
you
know
the
city
cannot
fundraise.
It
is
something
they
cannot
do
by
the
statute.
So.
C
B
A
C
E
C
Awesome
awesome!
Okay!
So
let's
talk
a
little
bit
about.
Let's
talk
about
a
little
bit
about
what's
really
important
and
why
you're
here
today
our
28th
annual
help
the
hooch
tri-city
cleanup
yes
and
28.
That's
a
big
number!
There's.
E
A
big
number:
how
many
have
you
participated
in
all
in
all
of
them?
I've
been
involved
in
every
one
of
them
from
the
very
first
one.
I
was
actually
a
volunteer
and
took
my
boat
along
my
daughter,
believe
it
or
not.
She
was
young
out
on
the
river
and
to
collect
trash,
you
know
and
it
was
cold
that
day,
but
ever
since
that
day,
I've
been
part
of
the
planning
process
on
the
very
next
one,
so
I've
been
involved
in
planning
for
every
one
of
them.
So.
C
That
is
awesome,
that
is,
dedication
and
commitment,
dedication
and
that's
what
we
need.
So
that
being
said
for
anyone
that's
on
the
fence
about
volunteering,
he
is
actually
the
poster
child.
C
I
come
for
volunteering
and
trying
to
help
and
and
make
columbus
more
beautiful,
and
so,
if
you're
thinking
about
volunteering
on
the
fence,
remember
this
volunteering
is
an
easy
way
to
get
and
show
an
immediate
visual
improvement
in
our
community
instantaneously
and,
at
the
same
time,
you'll
get
an
opportunity
to
meet
some
great
people
like
william
kent,
okay,
and
so
our
help
to
hooch
is
going
to
be
this
year.
Tell
a
little
I'm
going
to
let
you
speak
a
little
bit
about
what
happens
on
the
school
campus
cleanup
day,
which
is
friday
september
30th.
E
Exactly
we
enlist
the
schools
to
help
us
as
well
the
children
love
getting
out.
You
know
out
of
class,
of
course,
and
and
going
out
and
collecting
trash
and
just
wandering
around
the
campus,
but
that
that's
how
we
engage
the
children
on
on
the
friday,
while
they're
in
school,
the
city
provides
us
a
little
things
for
them,
like
bookmarks
pencils,
those
kind
of
things
that
we
give
to
all
the
kids.
E
The
saturday
event
is
for
the
city-wide
or
actually
bi-city-wide
area
for
both
phoenix
city,
harris
county,
fort
benning,
all
the
all
the
volunteers
go
out
at
their
designated
sites
and
actually
collect
trash,
and
we
have
the
city
picking
that
up
for
us
once
they
collect
them
all,
then
they
go
to
oxbow
meadows
to
pick
up
a
bandana.
Just
I
thank
you.
If
you
will
for
participating,
that's
something.
We've
done
all
throughout
the
years
as
either
either
provide
food
or
t-shirts
or
something
to
show
a
thank
you
for
the
community.
E
Unfortunately,
kovid
put
a
really
big
dent
in
that
whole
effort.
We
used
to
have
huge
watershed
festivals,
which
we're
going
to
do
again.
We
are
because
we
need
to
get
out
of
this
this
this
whole
covet
thing
and
get
back
to
what
we
were
doing,
because
it
drew
a
lot
of
folks,
and
we
have
a
lot
of
folks
that
that
are
disappointed.
We're
not
doing
it,
but
unfortunately
we
didn't
have
the
time
to
plan
that
large
of
an
event
so
yeah.
C
A
F
F
C
E
C
Wow,
that
is
awesome.
You
see
why
I
love
this
guy
here,
a
walking
librarian
when
it
comes
to
this.
Yes,
okay,
so,
lastly,
what
would
you
say
again
to
encourage
anyone
to
come
out
and
be
a
part
of
what
we're
doing
and
what
you
have
committed
to
do
for
doing
for
so
long.
E
Our
mission,
plain
and
simple,
is
to
keep
columbus,
beautiful,
plain
and
simple,
and
if
folks,
like
you
and
I
and
the
volunteers,
don't
get
out
and
do
their
fair
share,
then
our
city
becomes
a
terrible
place
to
live.
It's
all
about
quality
of
life.
You
know
if
you're,
proud
of
where
you
live
and
the
the
everything
around
you
you're
going
to
share
that
with
everybody.
And
so,
if
you
don't
get
out
and
try
to
help
and
volunteer,
then
you've
turned
your
eye
to
it.
C
Absolutely
we
all
we
all
have
to
be
good
stewards.
We
all
have
to
take
part
it's
at
this
point
because
of
what
we're
seeing
since
the
pandemic,
and
it's
not
just
columbus
throughout
the
country,
the
world.
You
know,
there's
less
workers,
you
know
everybody's
having
a
work
force
problem,
but
you
know
services
and
what
we
do
in
our
communities.
They
still
move
on,
and
you
know,
of
course
we
have
a
climate
crisis,
it's
a
host
of
things
and
we
need
to
make
sure
chattahoochee
river,
the
chattahoochee
river.
C
It
is
our
main
water
source
and
we
have
to
keep
it
clean
because
we're
so
fortunate,
absolutely
we're
so
fortunate,
absolutely
okay.
So,
lastly,
thank
you
again,
william
for
coming
always
a
pleasure.
I'm
sure
we'll
probably
talk
about
five
more
times
today
and
thank
you
again
for
coming
on
the
show.
Yes,.
C
Okay:
okay,
stay
tuned
for
upcoming
events;
next
kcv.
F
Is
on
the
move,
hope
you
guys
have
your
pins
ready
to
mark
your
calendars
for
these
exciting
upcoming
events.
Saturday
october
8th,
stop
by
oxford
meadows,
environmental
learning
center
to
see
our
booth
for
the
celebration
of
life
butterfly
release
saturday
october
15th,
columbus
waterworks
will
have
an
open
house
event
for
the
south
columbus
water
resource
facility.
