B
Garden:
okay:
okay,
before
we
get
started,
explain
about
this
location
where
we're
at
Victory
Garden.
C
Well,
we'll
the
the
George
Washington
called
with
Victor
garden
and
Farmers
located
on
Shepherd
Drive,
it's
1830
Shepherd
Drive,
but
you
can
see
it
from
The
Martin,
Luther,
King
Boulevard
and
the
Martin
Luther
King
Outdoor
Learning
trail
that
runs
along
with
the
dragonfly
Trail,
and
this
Farm
is
basically
we're
doing.
This
is
an
experimental
Farm,
we're
doing
things
here
to
teach
Our
Kids
Hands-On
learning
teach
them
how
to
do
math
with
their
hands
teach
them
how
to
do.
C
Science
teach
them
about
agriculture,
teach
them
about
being
entrepreneurs
and
also
teaching
them
a
skill
of
of
owning
their
own
business.
B
Okay,
awesome,
and
so
you
know
you
can
tell
this-
is
someone
very
important?
I
haven't
introduced
them
yet,
but
I
just
wanted
him
to
explain
the
location
of
where
we're
at
this
is
Mr
runzel
Buckner
with
turnaround
Columbus.
He
is
the
CEO
of
the
organization,
Mr
Buckner
for
those
who
should
know
but
don't
know,
please
let
them
know
exactly
what
your
organization
is
all
about.
C
We
got
to
understand
that
in
order
to
be
healthy
and
in
order
to
be
happy
and
in
order
to
look
good
and
feel
good,
you
have
to
eat
good
and
mostly
in
our
communities,
we
are
not
able
to
get
fresh
vegetables
in
order
to
eat
those
type
of
products.
There's
a
lot
of
fast
food
that
are
sold
in
our
community,
and
this
is
why
you
see
so
much
obesity.
This
is
also
why
you
see
we
have
so
much
diabetes
within
our
community
high
blood
pressure,
heart
problems.
C
All
of
this
stems
basically
from
what
you
consume
and
put
in
your
body.
So
what
we're
doing
when
I
say
this
in
the
experimental
form,
with
doing
what
George
Washington
Carver
did
George
Washington
Carver
used
to
come
to
Columbus
on
a
regular
base?
That's
why
you
find
a
lot
of
things
in
Columbus
name
in
his
honor,
like
Carver,
High,
George,
Washington,
Carver,
High
School,
the
Carver
Heights
Community
is
because
he
came
to
this
city
and
he
had
a
lot
to
do
with
Tom
Houston
peanut
company
in
producing
the
peanuts
and
things
of
that
nature.
C
It
is
so
important
that
we
learn
to
eat
healthy,
and
this
Farm
is
going
to
help
peoples
in
Columbus,
Georgia
learn
to
eat
healthy,
and
this
is
why
we
are
doing
it
in
this
community
because
we
are
in
the
center
basically
of
our
city
in
the
center
of
our
community.
Each
side
of
this
city
needs
healthy
food
to
eat.
B
That
is
awesome,
and
that
is
a
good
history
lesson
almost
in
what
is
going
on
in
this
community
in
other
communities.
Also,
there
are
so
there's
access
to
the
unhealthy
stuff
and
we
have
what
you
call
unhealthy
healthy
choices
and
food
deserts
will
say
to
where
you
can
get
good,
Fresh,
Foods
and
the
resource
is
just
not
available,
and
so
this
is
such
a
great
project
and
an
opportunity
for
this
community.
C
Well,
we
did
the
Martin
Luther
King
Outdoor
Learning
Trail,
approximately
five
six
years
ago,
and
the
Martin
Luther
King
Outdoor
Learning
Trail.
There
isn't
turn
around
Columbus
did.
B
So
the
trail
is
awesome.
I'm
sure
many
viewers
have
had
an
opportunity,
if
not
I,
definitely
suggest
it's
an
educational
experience
and
I
think
that
was
one
of
the
components
that
you
want
to
have
the
educational
component
also.
C
B
Explain
to
them
about
the
different
little
stops
or
steps
to
it.
Okay,.
C
C
B
So
many
different
elements
and
careers
with
Agriculture,
and
so
that
is
awesome
and
the
partnership
with
Fort
Valley
University,
it's
just
great
and
the
key
and
I
hope
the
ones
that
are
listening,
that
have
kids
that
are
college
level
or
coming
up
to
that
level
that
you
heard
what
he
said.
The
most
important
thing
it
is
free.
B
So
it
is
definitely
something
that
you
would
need
to
explore
because
we
like
a
free
education,
the
one
of
the
things
that
a
lot
of
students
experience
after
college
is
student
loan
debt,
so
get
in
contact
with
turnaround
Columbus
about
this.
This
project
I
understand
that
we're
going
to
be
talking
to
a
young
lady
that
works
with
you,
yeah,
and
so
we're
going
to
do
that
right
after
this
break
stay
tuned,
foreign.
B
C
C
Strong
and
I
knew
Ralston
and
Ralston
worked
with
me
when,
at
one
of
my
businesses,
and
so
I
was
very
interested
in
helping
her
to
get
ralston's
name
out
into
the
community
Rustin
we
lost
Ralston
about
three
years
ago
and
we've
been
working
to
get
his
name
out
there,
because
a
lot
of
things
that
Mary
know
about
farming.
D
Mr
B
found
me
in
a
really
low
place
and
opened
my
mind
and
my
heart
and
one
thing
I
believe
about
the
farm
is
a
mental
health
break.
We
do
mental
health
dances
out.
Here
we
get
the
kids
going.
We
get
the
kids
talking
Saturdays.
We
have
a
program
where
the
kids
can
come
out
and
the
older
crew
we
kind
of
like
to
call
it
a
Lemon
Squeeze.
We
throw
a
topic
out
and
we
take
it
from
there.
It's
pretty
free
rain
form
working
with
the
kids
at
JD.
Davis
is
amazing.
D
It
just
makes
my
heart
smile
listening
to
them
talk
and
ask
questions.
These
kids
have
not
been
subjected
to
any
type
of
farming.
They're,
like
tomatoes
grow
where
not
a
Win,
Dixie
baby.
So
having
them
come
out
here.
Just
has
made
my
world
a
brighter
place
and
come
on
out
hang
out
with
us.
It's
what
we
call
Urban
farming.
We
dropped
it
right
into
the
middle
of
a
community.
Yes,
we
are
so
Saturdays
we're
here
from
like
nine
to
noon
and
we
encourage
the
volunteers
to
come.
Kick
it.
C
Now
we
we
have
a
process
where
we
don't
employ
young
people,
but
we
give
young
people
stipends
if
they
come
out
and
work
at
the
farm
on
Saturdays
and
then
during
the
summer.
If
they
come
out
and
work
during
the
summer,
we
give
them
a
stipend,
see
kids
like
to
have
money
in
their
pocket
and
that's
something
we
have
been
omitting.
C
C
So
what
we
want
to
do
is
let
these
kids
know
you
can
get
a
good
education.
You
can
have
fun,
you
can
learn
how
to
grow
and
eat
healthy
food
and
you'll
get
a
stipend
for
learning
these
things.
So
those
stipends
the
parents
have
to
bring
the
kids
to
the
farm.
The
parents
have
to
sign
an
agreement
with
us
that
certain
things
we're
going
to
be
teaching
our
kids
and
certain
things
we're
going
to
hold
them
accountable
for
because
we're
not
taking
their
kid
to
raise
their
kids,
we're
taking
their
kids
to
teach
their
kids.
C
B
Okay,
great
information,
that's
a
lot
of
good
information
that
Mary
shared
and
as
well
as
Mr,
Buckner,
awesome
program
that
you
can
hear.
Please
listen
re-watch!
This
show
because
I
know
there
are
things
you
may
not
get
in
one
take
it's
a
lot
of
good
information
here,
stay
tuned
and
we're
going
to
talk
about
an
exciting
upcoming
event
for
Dr
King's
holiday.
Coming
up
that
we're
partnering
with
hold
on
you,
don't
want
to
miss
it
foreign.
B
C
The
cleanup
is
over
with
chester.
Bbq
will
be
here
at
the
farm
at
one
o'clock
to
serve
lunch
to
everyone
that
participate
in
the
cleanup,
and
it
will
give
the
parents
an
opportunity
to
bring
next
children
out
and
read
the
markers
as
they
clean
up
the
trail
and
once
you
get
to
the
end
of
the
markers
in
the
end
of
the
trail,
you're
going
to
be
surprised
at
the
number
of
questions,
your
children
would
be
asking
you
well.
Who
was
the
black
police
officers
that
got
fired
for
ripping
their
flag
off
of
their
uniforms?
C
C
It's
important
that
all
of
the
history
is
told
and
I
appreciate
this
opportunity
to
have
that
position,
to
bring
it
to
the
citizens
of
Columbus
Georgia
and
to
let
them
come
in
and
read
and
see
so
whether
you
live
on
the
North
side
of
Columbus,
the
South
Side,
the
east
side
or
the
west
side,
we're
inviting
all
of
you
to
get
up
on
Martin
Luther
King's
birthday
come
to
George
Washington
Carver
is
where
one
of
the
groups
will
start
on.
One
end
of
Martin,
Luther,
King
and
George.
C
Washington
Carver
is
on
8th
Street
and
the
other
group
will
start
at
the
AJ
McClone,
which
is
on
Martin
Luther
King
and
we'll
have
two
groups,
one
starting
on
one
end
and
one
starting
on
the
other
end
and
all
of
us
will
meet
at
the
farm
and
we
would
give
out
the
service
hours
for
the
high
school
kids
that
need
service
hours
or
the
college
kids.
And
we
will
also
give
you
good
meals
from
Chester's
barbecue
foreign.
B
I
am
sure
that
we
are
a
community
that
blends
together
that
we
come
out
and
support,
especially
for
this
important
holiday
you'll,
get
an
opportunity
to
make
an
immediate
visual
impact
in
your
community
by
doing
a
cleanup
effort.
That's
what
I
always
say.
That's
the
quickest
easiest
way
to
make
an
immediate
visual
impact
is
participating
in
a
litter
cleanup
effort.
The
second
portion
is
because
of
where
we're
doing
it.
B
You
will
also
learn
a
little
bit
about
the
history
and
that's
important
history
is
so
important
and
this
man
right
here
he
is
walking
history
and
it
has
been
awesome
having
him
today
on
this
show,
we
could
talk
all
day,
but
I'm
gonna
give
him
an
opportunity
because
I
know
you're
liking.
What
you're
hearing
and
I
know
he
has
some
great
projects
he's
working
on
and
coming
up.
If
you
are
interesting
interested
in
volunteering
and
supporting
turnaround,
Columbus
Mr
Buckner
tell
the
audience:
what
can
they
do?
C
And
you'll
be
calling
myself
on
personally
I'll
talk
to
you
personally.
First
then
I'll
give
you
a
number
that
you
can
call
and
someone
from
the
organization
will
pick
up
and
then
they
will
talk
to
you,
but
you
can
donate
with
non-profit.
You
can
donate
money
to
help
get
this
Farm
to
where
we
want
to
carry
it.
We
want
to
put
a
we
want
to
put
a
kitchen
in
this
Farm.
We
also
want
to
put
an
open,
Fresh
Market
in
this
farm.
C
So
you
don't
have
to
go
to
a
different
part
of
the
city
to
buy
fresh
food
and
things
you
can
purchase
it
right
here
at
the
farm
from
these
kids,
and
if
you
want
to
just
come
out
and
volunteer,
you
know
I
hear
people
all
the
time
say:
I
need
to
lose
weight.
Well,
if
you
want
to
lose
weight,
you
come
out
here
because
pulling
weeds.
C
We
need
some
weed
pullers
and
we
need
to
for
them
to
come
on
Wednesdays,
so
we're
calling
them
Wednesday
weeders
come
on
Wednesday
from
9
to
11
during
the
summer
and
just
pull
weeds
and
exercise
we're
going
to
have
some
exercise
programs
on
the
farm,
so
you
can
do
different
exercises.
We've
got,
ladies,
that
are
putting
together
things
now
for
our
people
to
be
able
to
enjoy
themselves
while
they
work
on
the
farm
so
come
to
George
Washington
Carver's
Farm.
C
B
Just
gave
some
of
us
an
idea
about
shedding
some
of
those
holiday
pounds
2023
those
New
Year
resolutions.
Thank
you
again
so
much
for
coming
on
the
show
today,
Mr
Buckner
Mrs
Mary.
We
will
have
their
information
on
the
screen
where
you
can
contact
these
individuals
for
this
great
organization,
we'll
be
right
back.
