A
Welcome
to
learning
with
the
dogs
today
we
have
a
great
show
planned
for
you,
we'll
be
talking
about
strawberries
which
are
homegrown.
Strawberries
are
in
season
and
we'll
tell
you
how
to
make
some
great
recipes
and
nutritive
value
and
some
activities
you
can
do
with
your
children,
so
sit
back,
relax
and
enjoy
the.
A
A
A
A
A
A
A
Okay,
we're
going
to
mix
this
together
with
our
whisk
or
you
can
just
use
a
spoon
whatever
you
have
at
home
mix
it
together
really
well,
because
you
have
to
get
that
jelly
to
dissolve
in
there,
and
this
is
the
easy
way
to
make
your
dressing
at
home.
You
can
use
any
kind
of
vinegar.
You
can
use
jelly,
you
can
use
lemons.
You
can
do
so
many
different
things
to
make
your
own
dressing
at
home.
A
A
A
So,
as
you
can
see,
this
recipe
is
really
easy.
I
use
eight
cups
of
torn
spinach,
so
you'll
know
exactly
what
I
did
there.
So
it's
eight
cups
of
torn
spinach,
eight
strawberries,
quarter,
two
kiwis
sliced,
two
tablespoons
of
feta
cheese
and
a
half
a
cup
of
walnuts,
and
then
you
have
your
dressing
here
with
the
raspberry,
vinegar,
the
oil
and
the
raspberry
jam.
So
we're
going
to
pour
our
dressing
on
we're
going
to
mix
it
again
because
it's
celery
a
little.
A
A
B
B
C
D
C
C
C
It
only
takes
10
minutes
for
prepping
time,
20
minutes
for
cooking,
which
is
a
total
of
30
minutes.
The
first
thing
we
want
to
talk
about
first
is
prepping.
First,
you
need
to
make
sure
you
wash
your
hands,
make
sure
you
wash
your
surface,
make
sure
you
wash
your
items
you're
going
to
use,
which
is
your
bowl.
I
use
a
medium-sized
bowl,
your
measuring
utensils
and
your
trays.
E
C
C
And
a
half
teaspoon
of
baking
soda
and
then
we
will
mix
that
to
make
sure
it's
all
mixed
in
well.
Just
remember
that
you
can
use
different
measuring
utensils
for
each
item
and
then
you
can
have
a
empty
container
over
here
for
those
that
already
have
been
used.
So
you
won't
get
those
mixed
in
now.
Once
all
of
that
has
been
mixed
and
blended,
you
will
add
one
cup
of
sugar.
C
Okay,
I
used
sugar
and
then
you
will
have
two
cups
of
purpose
flour,
but
you
will
only
mix
in
one
and
a
half
cup
of
purpose:
flour
and
the
remaining
half.
You
will
have
your
ziploc
bag
and
your
cuts,
pre-washed
sliced
or
chopped
sliced
or
chunked
strawberries
in
that
ziploc
bag.
With
that
half
leftover
flour
and
you
would
cover
those
strawberries
in
that
ziploc
bag.
C
Okay,
now
just
remember
in
the
bowl
we
have
our
mixing
of
our
yogurt
two
large
eggs
melted
butter
mixed
in
then
we
add
our
vanilla
extra
salt,
one
tablespoon
of
baking
powder,
one
teaspoon
of
baking
soda
mix
that
well
and
then
one
cup
of
sugar,
and
then
we
will
add
our
one
and
a
half
cup
of
flour
mix
that
well,
once
the
chopped
cup,
strawberries
or
sliced
cut
up.
Strawberries
are
coated
in
your
ziploc
bag.
With
your
half
leftover,
flour
is
better.
You
would
then
mix
that
in
your
batter
mixing
for
your
strawberry
yogurt
muffins.

F
Welcome
back
to
learning
with
the
dolls,
my
name
is
laurelle
copeland,
I'm
the
first
steps
coordinator
and
first
steps
refer
and
link
families
to
community
resources.
First
steps
focus
on
improving
the
lives
of
families
and
their
children,
so
their
children
can
grow
up
healthy
and
strong.
So
today
I
would
like
to
share
with
you
and
your
families
some
resources
on
where
you
can
go
and
purchase
fresh
grown
strawberries.
F
F
G
I'm
valencia
jones,
with
healthy
families,
columbus
under
ug
extension
program
manager.
Here
and
today
you
have
been
understanding
and
learning
about
strawberries.
So
today,
I'm
here
to
discuss
and
share
with
you
ways
that
you
can
incorporate
your
everyday
routine
with
your
kids,
your
children,
as
you
guys,
are
out
grocery
shopping.
So
what
you
can
do
is
when
you're
grocery
shopping,
an
extended
learning
activity
that
you
can
do
with
your
baby
or
your
children
or
toddlers.
G
You
can
go
through
the
food
and
produce
section
and
pick
out
the
fruits
and
vegetables,
and
you
would
be
basically
telling
your
babies
about
the
color,
the
shapes
the
sizes,
especially
like
the
strawberry.
So,
for
instance,
you
when
you're
buying
your
fruit,
you
would
basically
share
with
your
children.
How
does
it
feel?
What
is
what
the
what
color
it
looks,
which
is
red
and
also
the
texture,
so
you're
bringing
awareness
to
the
different
categories
related
to
textures.
G
So
did
you
know
that
your
six
month
old
baby
can
see,
hear
and
taste
and
smell
just
as
you
so
with
that
strawberry?
That
is
what
you
could
be
teaching
your
baby.
Also,
I
have
an
activity
with
you
that
I'll
share
today
and
it's
accessory
type
activity
that
improves
fine
motor
skills.
So
I
have
some
gift:
wrapping
here
get
tissue
paper
and
with
your
older
kids,
you
can
cut
share
with
them
how
to
or
teach
them
how
to
cut
so
they
would
do
this
here
or
with
the
younger
babies.
G
G
B
B
H
H
We
know
that
children
who
read
well
have
a
better
chance
of
not
only
staying
in
school
but
succeeding
in
school,
and
we
also
know
the
best
ways
to
help
a
child
become.
A
good
reader
is
to
share
books
when,
when
they're
very
young
to
have
them
start
even
when
they're
a
baby,
so
books
are
a
way
that
we
help
our
child
understand
the
world.
H
So
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we
provide
books
that
allow
them
to
learn
about
objects,
routine
people
places
and
when
we
read
aloud
and
share
books
with
children,
we
know
that
this
helps
improve
their
memory.
It
helps
expand
their
vocabulary
and
the
words
that
they
know
it
helps
engage
their
imagination.
H
We
also
know
that
when
we
share
books
with
children,
especially
even
at
a
young
age,
they
start
to
recognize
that
pictures
and
words
go
together
and
that
those
pictures
are
actually
a
symbol
of
something
they
start
to
learn
new
words.
They
get
a
feel
for
the
flow
of
language
and
then,
by
the
time
they
get
ready
to
be
to
be
in
school.
They
get
to
that
chance
where
they're
ready
to
start
to
learn
to
read
for
themselves.
H
So
we
encourage
families
to
always
talk,
read,
sing
and
play
with
your
children
every
day,
but
some
of
the
ways
that
we
can
start
some
good
reading
habits
are
number
one
to
model.
Reading
children
will
see
you
reading
and
they'll
want
to
do
what
you
do.
They'll
start
to
see
that
reading
every
day
is
just
a
part
of
life
and
it
will
help
them
grow.
A
love
for
that.
H
We
like
it
when
you're
reading
with
very
young
children,
either
to
hold
them
on
your
lap
or
snuggle
close
to
them,
have
a
have
some
bonding
time
as
well,
also
name
the
things
that
you
see
in
a
book
point
to
those
pictures.
It's
fun.
Sometimes
just
to
take
the
books
and
look
at
pictures,
we
don't
always
have
to
read
the
words
that
are
in
there
and
then
connect
the
books
to
things
that
are
in
her
life.
This
helps
build
empathy.
H
It
also
helps
build
ideas
for
problem
solving
and
then
it
also
helps
them
understand
the
things
that
are
around
them.
So
when
I
point
to
pictures
in
a
book,
they
start
to
understand
the
difference
between
that
word
and
that
picture.
That
picture
is
a
symbol
for
something
and
then,
when
I
can
show
them,
maybe
the
real
object
that
gives
even
a
deeper
understanding.
So
just
like
today,
we've
heard
a
lot
about
strawberries.
H
H
H
When
we
look
at
those
books-
and
we
talk
about
what
do
you
see
happening
in
the
picture,
it
allows
our
child
to
be
able
to
explain
the
stories,
be
able
to
look
at
the
pictures
and
tell
from
the
context
clues
what's
going
on
in
there.
So
it
allows
them
to
really
get
prepared
to
learn
to
read
on
their
own.
So
when
we
think
about
books,
we
can
think
about
using
books
from
a
very
young
age,
even
if
it's
the
small
indestructible,
non-terrible
books
that
have
beautiful
bright
pictures
in
them.
H
It
allows
us
to
talk
about
those
and
look
at
there's
our
strawberry
from
today.
So
it
allows
us
to
talk
about
the
color.
The
size
is
that
the
big
picture
is
that
the
small
picture,
so
it
allows
us
to
from
a
very
young
age,
to
start
incorporating
that
when
your
child
gets
to
be
a
toddler,
we
can
go
to
different
books,
maybe
that
have
counting
in
there
and
as
we're
going
through
the
book
and
we're
starting
to
count.
H
Guess
what
happens
when
we
get
to
number
10
there's
our
strawberry
again,
so
it
allows
them
to
kind
of
hunt
and
look
for
those
things
and
be
prepared
to
say
hey.
I
wonder
if
there's
a
strawberry
in
here
and
allow
them
to
kind
of
think
about
what
might
happen
next,
maybe
going
to
the
farmer's
market.
H
What's
going
on
around
you,
there
are
a
lot
of
books
out
there
that
give
children
a
chance
to
talk
about
the
different
foods
that
they
may
see
and
then,
following
that
up
with
also
even
using
environmental
print
and
the
newspaper
looking
at
the
sales
paper
to
be
able
to
pick
out
the
foods
that
they
typically
buy,
to
be
able
to
see
them
and
then
be
able
to
match
them
in
the
grocery
store
when
you
get
there.
So
there
are
great
ways
to
to
carry
over
that
learning.
H
Also,
when
children
see
you
reading,
it
does
create
a
great
role
model
and
what
better
than
looking
at?
Maybe
a
recipe
book
looking
through
those
cookbooks
together,
looking
at
the
pictures
showing
that
here's
the
words
that
go
with
this
recipe-
and
this
telling
me
how
to
make
this
food
so
really
having
that
discussion
and
being
able
to
use
that
as
well.
When
we
are
talking
about
using
books
with
the
children
and
don't
forget
old
favorites.
H
So
it's
a
great
way
to
use
books
to
talk
about
feelings,
to
talk
about
things
around
them
to
problem
solve
and
so
no
matter
what
your
topic
may
be,
whether
it
be
something
as
simple
as
a
strawberry
and
we're
going
to
read
every
book
and
see
if
we
find
a
strawberry
in
it
or
if
it's
something
bigger,
where
we're
talking
about
feelings.
Books
are
a
great
way
to
do
that.
H

Let's
count
the
waves.
E
More

you
will

how
you
can
help
you
can

to
311
by
providing
their
tag
number
a
vehicle
description
and
the
location
where
you
saw
the
litter
take
place
so
columbus.
I
Now
we
actually
have
over
140
acres
of
strawberries
grown
here
in
georgia,
and
you
can
actually
find
them
around
the
state
at
your
local
farm
stands
pick
your
own
operations
and
even
your
local
grocery
store.
I
Now,
however,
you
choose
to
enjoy
this
delicious
fruit
know
that
to
get
the
biggest
flavor,
you
really
want
to
look
for
berries
that
have
a
deep
red
color
to
them,
and
that
is
because
strawberries
and
like
some
of
the
other
fruits
that
we're
more
familiar
with,
do
not
continue
to
ripen
after
they
are
harvested
now.
Another
good
technique
to
finding
a
perfect
carton
of
ripe
strawberries
is
to
actually
use
your
nose,
so
ripe.
Strawberries
have
a
very
kind
of
unique
smell
to
them.
I
I
believe
in
that
they
smell
sweet
and
they
also
have
a
hint
of
a
floral
afternoon
to
them
too.
So
if
you
walk
by
some
strawberries
and
they
smell
delicious
they're-
probably
going
to
taste
delicious
as
well
now,
if
you
decide
that
you
want
to
go
out
and
pick
your
own
know
that
you
still
want
to
look
for
that
deep
red
color.
I
But
when
you're
harvesting
your
strawberries,
you
want
to
make
sure
that
you're
doing
it
properly
and
that
you
are
leaving
this
cap
or
calyx
on
the
end,
and
you
are
harvesting
from
the
stem
and
not
removing
this
copper
calyx.
This
really
just
helps
the
strawberries
have
a
longer
shelf
life
than
if
you
remove
them.
I
Also,
if
you
are
out
of
pick
your
own
operation,
you'll
want
to
make
sure
that
your
berries
stay
dry
and
out
of
direct
sunlight
as
well,
which
will
lessen
the
storage
period
and,
of
course,
always
refrigerate
them
as
soon
as
you
get
them
home
as
well.
Now
in
the
refrigerator
ripe.
Strawberries
will
last
anywhere
from
three
to
five
days,
but
if
you
want
to
extend
that
freezing
them
is
a
really
good
option.
They'll
store
in
the
freezer
for
roughly
around
two
months
and
always
make
sure
that
you
wash
your
strawberries
before
you
eat
them
now.
I
I
First,
give
them
a
quick
call
and
check
out
if
they
have
any
coded
restrictions
in
place,
such
as
needing
to
wear
a
mask
while
you're
there
or
limiting
the
number
of
people
in
your
party
also
while
you're
at
the
operation
you'll
want
to
make
sure
that
you
still
socially
distance
that
you're
not
eating
fruit
in
the
field
and
that,
if
you're
ill,
you're
staying
home.
B
B
J
My
favorite
activity
strawberries
is
to
eat
them,
but
I've
got
some
craft
ideas
that
are
easy
enough
for
young
children
to
do
or
an
adult
if
you're
interested
we're
going
to
start
with
my
strawberry
door
hanger.
This
is
craft
foam.
If
you've
worked
with
craft
foam
before,
but
it's
very
easy,
very
forgiving,
you
can
get
it
at
most
craft
stores
and
you
can
buy
it
by
the
sheet.
Instead
of
all
the
packages,
I
just
simply
drew
out
a
general
berry
shape
for
my
base
and
some
leaves
or
the
the
hall
of
the
strawberry.
J
J
If
you
don't
want
to
go
to
the
trouble
of
doing
craft
foam
easy
enough
to
to
trace
out
on
a
piece
of
cardboard,
a
child
could
paint
this
with
temper
paint,
but
I
I
prefer
doing
acrylic
paint
and
same
thing
just
basically
fill
in
with
the
green,
the
red,
the
colors,
that
you
know
a
strawberry
to
be,
and
you
can
make
dots
with
the
end
of
the
pencil,
the
eraser
in
end
of
a
shish
kebab,
something
that
can
make
little
dots
or
a
freehand.
J
This
is
real,
easy
with
freehand,
because
you
use
it
just
like
you
would
writing
something.
My
other
activity
is.
This
is
really
geared
more
for
kids,
but
it's
a
hot
meat,
and
these
are
very
inexpensive
at
dollar
stores
and
department
stores.
You
actually
put
the
paint
on
your
hand
or
the
child's
hand,
red
acrylic.
J
You
would
then
press
that
hand
down,
and
I've
used
some
green
paint
to
make
my
stem
or
my
hull,
but
you
could
even
use
thumb
prints
to
do
that
and
then
the
dots,
the
same
thing
I
use
this
fabric
paint
you
do
not
have
to
use
fabric
paint.
You
can
use
acrylic.
My
advice
is:
wait
till
it
dries
before
you
add
your
little
black
dots
and
that's
just
a
fun
thing
to
have
this
next
one's
super,
easy,
mason
jars
are
still
the
rage
and
this
one's
been
painted
to
look
like
a
strawberry.
J
I
actually
use
chalk
paint
on
this
one
and
then
my
dots
with
my
fabric
paint,
and
then
I've
got
my
little
silverware
things.
This
could
also
be
a
catch-all
for
pencils
or
scissors
and
things
on
your
desk.
J
This
is
glass,
so
you'd
want
to
be
careful.
If
you
have
this
as
a
kid's
craft,
and
all
of
these
could
easily
be
gifts
and
you've
got
your
front
door
covered.
You've
got
your
picnic
covered
and
you've
got
your
your
barbecue
grilling
things
covered
on
this.
I
made
a
a
rag
bow.
You
can
do
a
fancier
bow.
I
just
had
some
scraps,
but
the
thing
about
this
is
very
forgiving.
These
are
all
easy,
peasy
free
hand,
don't
stress,
just
have
fun
doing
it
and
enjoy
your
summer
very
much.
We
hope.
