A
Public
education
awareness
report,
as
we
affectionately
call
it
the
pair
show.
Thank
you
all
for
tuning
in
to
get
the
latest
news
and
updates
from
our
beloved
Muskogee
County
School
District.
Today
our
guest
will
be
Mr
Ward
Odom,
our
senior
director
of
plant
services
and
construction
and
Miss
Latonya
Hamilton
principal
at
St,
Mary's,
Road,
Academy,
Mr
Odom,
will
be
here
to
tell
us
about
some
of
our
new
construction
projects
and
Miss
Hamilton
will
discuss
the
naming
of
our
new
elementary
school,
so
stay
tuned,
don't
go
anywhere,
we'll
be
right
back
after
these
messages.
A
A
B
B
Absolutely
so
this
summer,
as
school
has
just
ended,
we're
getting
ready
to
start
some
projects,
the
Arnold
modernization
project,
where
we
take
the
building
back
to
its
foundation
and
walls
and
then
build
it
back.
It's
around
a
20
million
dollar
project,
okay,
modernize,
that
school,
then
we
have
the
Columbus
High,
HVAC
and
interior
next
year
upgrade
project.
So
HVAC
is
heating,
ventilation,
air
conditioning,
so
all
their
air
conditioning
and
heats
getting
upgraded
along
with
Hardaway.
B
That's
happening
there
as
well
at
Columbus
High,
going
back
to
there
the
the
interior
side,
the
steps
that
lead
up
to
the
school,
the
old
set
of
steps
they're
getting
replaced
as
part
of
that
project.
Then
we
have
some
Elementary
number
eight,
which
has
been
ongoing
for
a
little
while,
but
out
there
to
replace
Dawson
and
St
Mary's.
That
project
is
probably
halfway
through
it's
opening
August
of
2024..
B
Okay,
then
we
have
the
roofing
of
Winton
and
Bradley
or
Bradley
being
the
where
the
division
of
information
serves,
but
Winton
that
roof
is
getting
replaced
as
well.
Then
we
have
the
Middle
School
athletic
fields.
You
know
in
the
2015
we
did
the
high
school,
but
now
we're
working
on
the
Middle
School
athletic
fields
to
include
inside
the
bleachers
of
the
gems
and
scoreboards
at
all
those
high
school
and
middle
schools.
There's
our
current
projects
that
we
have
going
on.
Okay,.
A
D
B
Change
from
Jordan
Vocational
High
School
to
Jordan
Vocational,
High,
School,
College
and
Career
Academy,
the
East
loss
also
to
maximize
that
funding.
So
we
went
in
with
both
those
projects
to
include
the
HVAC
upgrades
at
that
building
as
well.
We
went
into
Jordan
and
upgraded
the
admin
offices,
the
CTA
portions,
of
that
Automotive,
Metals
megatronics,
the
media
center
or
the
all
old
school
library,
but
the
media
center
has
been
upgraded.
School's
drawer
was
put
in
just
phenomenal,
secure,
vestibule
entry.
The
entry
of
that
school
is
phenomenal.
Now
so
it
was.
B
A
B
A
B
So
in
Georgia
we
have
a
local
facility
plan.
All
school
districts
in
Georgia
have
that.
So
we
take
the
local
facility
plan
and
it
ages
the
building
it
takes
and
it
ages
the
equipment
within
the
building.
Then
you
take
all
that
information
or
data
that
you've
gathered
and
you
prioritize
there's
always
more
needs
than
you
have
funding
to
fulfill
the
needs
so
with
that
system
and
that
local
facility
plan,
we
actually
prioritize
the
needs
based
on
the
data
of
all
the
different
parts
of
that
okay.
B
Up
at
some
of
our
old
schools,
absolutely
we
have
some
exciting
projects,
so
Hardaway
and
Kendrick
they're
receiving
front
upgrades,
we'll
say
the
admin
office,
making
this
front
of
the
entrances
of
those
two
schools
fresh
will
say,
adding
a
new
touch
to
that,
then,
at
the
elementary
schools
we
have
playgrounds
being
added.
B
Absolutely
so
this
district
is
so
lucky.
We
have
a
one-to-one
technology
to
student
ratio
with
Chromebooks,
so
we're
refreshing
those
not
all
of
them
at
this
time,
but
refreshing
quite
a
bit
the
high
school
level,
then
the
smart
boards
are
in
the
classroom
that
the
teachers
teach
off
of
all
those
are
being
replaced,
and
then
we
have
the
infrastructure
that
supports
all
that.
You
know
the
access
points
and
a
lot
of
Technology
information
stuff
that
goes
behind
the
scenes,
all
that's
being
upgraded.
So.
B
A
Okay,
well
sounds
good
I,
greatly
appreciate
you
joining
us
today
and
letting
us
know
about
the
new
projects,
because
it's
going
to
happen
in
Muskogee,
County,
School
District
in
a
new
future.
Thank
you
again.
Mr
Odom
for
joining
us
we'll
be
right
back
with
Miss
Hamilton
who's
going
to
come
on
and
talk
about.
The
proposed
name
of
a
new
Elementary
School
hi.
D
I'm
mayor
skip
Henderson,
no
matter
who
we
are:
parents,
business
owners,
Faith
leaders,
teachers,
vaccines,
help,
keep
us
healthy,
so
we're
free
to
do
the
things
we
want
to
do.
There
are
vaccines.
We
need
as
adults
to
help
protect
us
from
shingles
pneumonia
and
the
flu
it's
easy
to
find
out
which
ones
you
need
just
ask
your
doctor
or
your
pharmacist,
I'm
so
proud
of
how
we
support
each
other
in
our
community.
So,
let's
knock
it
out
of
the
park.
A
Welcome
back
to
the
public
education
awareness
report,
our
second
guest
is
Miss
Latonya
Hamilton
principal
at
St,
Mary's,
Road,
Magnet,
Academy,
Miss
Hamilton
is
here
to
discuss
one
of
our
major
projects
we
discussed
earlier
in
the
show
The
naming
of
our
elementary
school
welcome
to
pair
Miss
Hamilton.
Thank.
C
A
C
C
Okay,
so
currently
we
have
six
committee
members
that
committed
comprises
of
former
parents
of
both
representative
schools,
St
Mary's,
Madden,
Academy
and
Dawson
Elementary.
We
also
have
former
teachers
and
current
teachers
that
are
part
of
that
committee,
and
also
community
members
which
comprise
of
Church's
barbecue
and
so
he's
a
Community
member
which
is
right
across
from
Dawson
Elementary.
C
Of
course,
it's
very
important
that
both
Community
Partners
for
St,
Mary's,
Madden,
Academy
and
Dawson
are
involved
in
naming
the
school,
so
they
can
have
that
sense
of
Pride
and
ownership
of
the
school
that
will
be
in
their
neighborhood.
So.
A
C
Currently,
we
have
several
locations
where
community
members,
parents,
also
students
if
they
would
like
to
get
there,
give
their
input
on
naming
the
school.
We
have
the
Saint
Mary's
Madden
Academy
Facebook
page.
We
also
have
the
QR
code
and
Link
on
the
Muscogee
County
School
District
home
page,
and
we
also
have
some
surveys
at
some
of
our
partner
partner
in
churches
in
the
neighborhoods
and
also
Chester's
barbecue.
C
A
C
Absolutely
so
just
go
to
the
Muscogee
County
School
District
website,
page
again
that
link
and
QR
code
is
also
provided
on
the
Saint
Mary's
Madden
Academy
Facebook
page
as
well.
That's
awesome!
Well,.
