Description
August 28, 2023
City Council Meeting
B
C
C
President
Mourinho
president
Council
vice
president
Vargas
will
be
here
shortly,
she's,
just
in
some
traffic
and
first
up
this
evening
we
will
have
our
Pledge
of
Allegiance.
C
E
C
And
at
this
time,
I
will
ask
since
Council
vice
president
Vargas
is
not
here:
I'll
ask
councilman
Ferry.
If
you
will
join
me
in
honoring
this
evening
to
local
baseball
teams
and
softball
team
things.
C
C
We
know
that
last
month
we
were
looking
to
honor
you,
but
you
were
off
at
the
Regionals
and
I
always
say
you,
you
learn
more
from
your
losses
than
you
do
your
wins.
So
congratulations
to
a
job!
Well
done
this
season,
and
it's
okay,
the
Regionals
didn't
pan
out.
Maybe
the
way
you
envisioned
there's
always
there's
always
next
season
and
we're
happy
to
celebrate
you
this
evening.
C
First
up
is
manager,
Patrick
Sweeney.
B
C
And
boys,
congratulations
on
a
job.
Well
done,
you
know
same
is
true
right.
You
learn
a
lot
from
your
losses,
pretty
much
as
much,
if
not
more
than
you
do
from
your
wins,
and
this
you
know
we're
all
very
proud
of
all
the
effort
that
you
made
and
we
hope
that
you
stick
with
it
and
continue
with
that
grit
and
determination
for
next
season,
too.
Okay,
now,
first
up
we
will
ask
coach,
Sean
Hart
to
step
up
and
congratulations.
C
C
All
right
next
up,
we
have
before
we
do
public
hearings
and
public
comment.
I'd
ask
for
a
motion
to
take
the
agenda
out
of
order
and
then
I
will
move
on.
C
Any
discussion
they
are
being
none
the
other
exactly
and
no
discussion
clerk.
Please
take
the
role.
D
C
C
At
this
time,
I
would
like
to
go
to
council
president
Communications
and
go
to
the
status
of
Bud
long
coach
on
page
four
of
the
agenda
under
council
president
Communications
at
this
time.
I
wanted
to
address
this
issue
as
I
expect
this
evening.
There
will
be
very
much
discussion
on
this
if
it's
anything
like
a
lot
of
the
correspondence
that
I
know
that
I
received
of
late
with
respect
to
the
bud.
C
Long
pool
and
I
want
to
address
that
the
council
has
even
before
this
current
term
that
began
just
this
year
in
the
prior
term.
Under
council,
president
pablovskis
had
addressed
the
bud
long
pool,
and
the
council
has
continually
expressed
the
desire
to
have
that
pool
open
as
soon
as
possible.
So
I
know
that
I'm
not
alone
when
I
say
that
we
share
in
that
sentiment.
C
Recently
I
very
much
respect
that
some
members
of
the
public
have
ascertained
some
information
to
the
contrary.
That
was
not
previously
provided
to
the
council,
and
that
is
a
game.
Changer.
From
my
perspective,
of
the
administration,
in
terms
of
status
of
the
pool
has
said
that
in
past
meetings
that
they
are
looking
to
replace
it
and
not
repair
it
and
I'm
sure
we'll
be
hearing
further
from
the
administration
on
this
issue,
including
the
mayor's
public
meeting
that
he
called
for
September
6
that
this
Council
will
be
joining
in.
C
We
will
be
calling
a
special
session,
so
the
council
can
participate
in
that
meeting
as
well
as
for
this
evening
from
members
of
the
public.
C
You
know
again,
council
members
will
will
have
an
opportunity
to
discuss
this
discuss
this
as
well,
but
this
evening
during
the
public
comment
discussion,
please
we
ask
that
you
be
mindful
of
others
and
try
and
keep
your
comments
limited
to
four
minutes.
Please
state
your
name
and
address
for
the
record
as
well
when
you
step
up
and
speak
into
the
microphone
for
us
all
right
and
we'll
have
further
discussion
later
on
this
evening.
I'm
sure,
thank
you.
I
Foreign
and
I,
thank
you
for
your
time
tonight
and
speaking
to
you

I
The
mayor
has
consistently
misled
the
council
and
the
public
about
the
condition
of
the
pool
by
hiding
a
June

assessment
that
the
pool
could
be
reopened
at
a
modest
cost,
misrepresenting
the
conclusions
of
the

which
said
that
the
pool
could
be
fully
restored
and
not
temporarily

that
the

cannot
be
repaired
or
that
it
is
not
possible
to
do
at
a
reasonable
cost.
I
The
mayor's

the

which
was
negotiated
in

one
could

that

We

a

of
every

of
the

it's
quite
lengthy,
but
when
read
together
with
Amiga
records
received
from
the
administration
so
far,
it
shows
that
the
Administration
has
engaged
in
a
pattern
of
deception
regarding
its
motives

actions
regarding
the
bad

in
order
to
thwart

Approximate
average
of
operational
days,
66
days
or
years
three
months,
the
city
would
have
owed
six
million
one
hundred
and
twenty
thousand
dollars.
Based
on
this
report,
the
previous
report-
Federal
engineering
I'm
not
going
to
go
into
every
little
thing,
but
based
on
this
was
50
gallons
per
minute,
which
would
have
caused
the
city
15
million
three
hundred
and
one
thousand
dollars.
L
The
Virginia
Graham
Baker
Act,
which
means
that
the
young
lady
was
killed
being
sucked
into
a
drain.
This
happened,
December,
19
2008..
L
L
L
L
We
got
inspected
well,
my
14
years
there
we
got
inspected
every
single
year
by
DM,
the
young
lady's
name
was
Sonia.
I
cannot
remember
her
last
name
and
she
gave
us
a
credit
rating
of
b
or
a
every
year.
Maybe
the
biggest
efficiency
was
signage,
which
we
correct.
L
L
Anyone
here
that
wants
to
take
a
walk
down
a
bud
along
pool
would
see
in
the
cement.
There
are
marble

whatever
citing
two
feet:
five
feet:
nine
feet
all
the
way
around
the
Outer
Perimeter.
L
L
L
L
L
One
other
thing
I
want
to
mention
if,
in
fact,
according
to
this
report,
that
we
are
losing
either
20
gallons
per
minute
or
50
gallons
per
minute,
2020
21
22
23
four
years,
I,
don't
know
how
many
days
that
is
I,
don't
know
how
many
minutes
that
is,
how
is
it
possible?
There's
water
in
that
pool
if
that
liner
is
leaking.
L
C
And
that's
why
I
allowed
you
to
to
go
on
beyond
the
four
minutes?
Because
you.
C
You
bring
a
knowledge
that
none
of
us
have
because
we
always
say
we're
not
experts
with
respect
to
the
pool
or
the
maintenance
of
it,
and
you
had
Hands-On
knowledge
that
we
didn't
have.
So
we
appreciate
your
input.
Thank
you.
M
Hi,
my
name
is
Diane
Lewis
I
live
at
183
Park
Avenue
Cranston,
Rhode,
Island
I've
been
a
Cranston
resident
since
1986.
my
family
and
I
have
enjoyed
by
long
pool
for
years
and
we're
very
distressed
at
the
mayor's
plan
to
demolish
the
pool
and
replace
it
with
something
smaller
and
a
splash
pad.
It's
like
I,
don't
think
that
the
residents
of
the
city
should
be
punished
because
the
mayor
wants
to
replace
the
pool
it's
like
and
is
not
listening
to
the
our
our
wishes.
It's
like
they
have.
M
You
know
we've
heard
tonight
that
the
pool
can
be
replaced
at
a
significantly.
You
know
less
amount
than
what
the
mayor
is
preparing
to
spend
for
a
pool
that
a
downsized
pool
that
we
don't
want.
It's
like
the
bud,
long
pool
at
the
size
that
we
have
now
it's
one
of
the
best
pools
in
Rhode
Island
when
properly
maintained
and
pre-co
pre-coveted
in
2019.
If
you
went
to
the
pool
it's
not
underutilized,
it
was
hard
to
find
a
state
around
the
pool
and
the
size
of
the
pool
allows
for
children
to
play.
M
O
O
O
O
The
past
three
years
have
brought
covid
inflation
and
a
greater
need
for
cities
to
provide
services
and
the
communities
that
they
serve.
The
temperatures
in
the
summer
continue
to
rise
residents.
Young
and
old
need
a
place.
They
can
cool
off
in
their
own
City
without
driving
to
the
beach
and
the
size
of
Budlong
pool
can
accommodate
them.
O
O
P
P
I
I've
been
talking
to
people
about
the
pool
and
I
mean
I
vote
for
every
spending
Bill.
There
is,
if,
in
my,
if
I
wouldn't
object
to
spending
four
million
on
a
on
a
brand
new
pool,
if
Cranston
didn't
already
have
one
I
wouldn't
object.
P
If
the
majority
of
residents
wanted
it
haven't,
found
any
and
I
mean
nobody
has
said
to
me:
oh
what
a
great
idea,
let's
take
a
big
pool
and
make
it
into
this
stupid
little
shallow,
kiddie
pool
who's
going
to
use
this
toddlers,
maybe
up
to
10
years
old,
they'll,
they'll
appreciate
it.
P
They
don't
know
the
difference
and
I'd
be
happy
to
buy
it
for
them.
By
the
way
limited
offer
and
yeah
I
mean
that's
all
I
had
to
say
this
is
a
ridiculous
waste
of
money
for
something
no
one
wants.
Q
Dan
wall
27,
Sagamore,
Road
I,
was
here
last
month
when
you
had
your
update,
the
guy
in
the
pool.
My
sentiments
have
not
changed
as
I
told
you
at
that
time.
I
have
an
occasion.
It's
knocked
on
a
lot
of
doors
and
speak
to
a
lot
of
people
around
the
Sixth,
Ward
and
people.
You
know,
as
I
said
before,
people
are
kind
of
perplexed
at
the
situation.
Q
Other
communities
we're
opening
their
pools,
their
kids
and
their
families
were
swimming
in
very
hot
weather,
and
ours
remains
closed
for
a
number
of
years.
So
at
that
time
this
is
about
mid
to
late
July
I
penned
this
press
release
for
the
Cranston
Herald
and
I'm
just
going
to
read
it
because
it
I'll
be
honest.
My
sentiments
haven't
changed.
Q
I
urge
Mayor
Hopkins
to
reopen
the
Budlong
pool
over
the
past
few
months.
I've
walked
the
neighborhoods
of
Ward.
Six
and
I've
had
an
opportunity
to
speak
to
many
people
about
the
closed
blood
long
pool.
Several
points
have
been
made
abundantly
clear
to
me.
First,
the
bud
long
pool
needs
to
be
open
as
soon
as
possible.
Q
Our
kids
and
families
should
not
be
forced
to
suffer
through
yet
another
summer
without
a
community
pool,
as
the
heat
of
the
last
few
weeks
and
even
months
have
made
it
even
more
evident.
Secondly,
people
want
a
pool
to
remain
at
its
original
size
in
its
original
configuration,
a
tiny
pool
and
a
splash
pad
are
not
sufficient
for
Rhode
Island's,
second
largest
city.
Q
Projections
and
what
we've
heard
before
the
projections
indicate
that
reopening
the
existing
pool
will
cost
significantly
less
than
the
mayor's
proposed.
Recreation
Center
I
support
this
expeditious
reopening
of
the
pool,
as
do
many
of
my
neighbors
and
I
agree
with
the
city
council,
that
the
project
should
be
paid
for
using
the
American
Rescue
plan
act
funds
so
that
our
taxpayers
are
not
overburdened
with
this
expense
and
I
said
at
that
time,
when
it's
more
evident
that
political,
banters
and
ex
any
excuses
to
be
set
aside
and
I
had
one
more
thing.
R
Good
evening
Madam
president,
so
council
members,
my
name,
is
Michael
O'brien.
My
address
is
218
lawn
Acre
Drive,
myself,
I
have
lived
in
Cranston
for
the
past
45
years.
My
entire
life
also
I,
am
the
youngest
of
three
children.
My
parents
have
lived
in
the
crane
in
the
city
of
Cranston,
since
my
older
brother
was
born
in
1970..
R
All
three
of
us
three
of
the
children
have
learned
to
swim
in
bubbling
pool.
This
is
an
excellent
opportunity.
It's
an
excellent
resource
for
the
citizens
of
Cranston,
I'm,
sorry
I'm,
just
I,
don't
have
anything
planned
I'm,
just
speaking
right
from
the
heart,
I
feel
like
that's
really
the
best
way
to
reach
out
to
people,
and
hopefully
Mayor
Hopkins
will
actually
listen
to
the
people
that
have
already
spoken
I'm
going
to
keep
this
very
brief.
But
it
is
an
absolute
absolute
shame
on
him.
He
is
holding
back
funds
that
should
be
spent
repairing
this
pool.
R
The
funds
have
already
been
improved
by
the
voters,
myself
included
what
other
resources
are
open
to
the
city's
citizens
of
Cranston.
Besides
this
swimming
pool
a
Shopping
Center
yeah,
that's
great,
but
what?
If
you
don't
like
shopping
like
myself,
you
want
to
be
able
to
use
citizen
approved
citizen,
provided
resources
open,
but
long
pool,
not
next
year
this
year,
right
now,
Mayor
Hopkins
Please
Listen
to
Your
City,
Council
Members,
listen
to
your
citizens,
open
pool!
Thank
you.
S
S
S
On
a
side.
Note
I'd
like
to
add
that,
after
the
pandemic
for
three
summers
in
a
row
now
my
colleges,
daughters,
those
twins
who
have
been
home
for
the
summer
working
multiple
jobs
to
help
pay
for
their
education
have
not
had
this
resource
to
use.
While
the
mayor
tries
to
force
his
proposal
on
the
taxpayers
of
Cranston,
time
doesn't
stand
still,
and
that
is
lost
time
in
the
life
of
my
family.
S
S
If
you
turn
Budlong
pool
into
a
small
pool
with
splash
pads
and
whatever
amenities
you
will
not
be
providing
it
for
the
whole
Community,
just
families
with
young
kids
who
will
outgrow
it
and
move
on,
please
fix
Bud
long
pool
as
it
is,
so
all
our
families
can
grow
from
the
shallow
end
to
the
deep
end
and
use
it
their
whole
lives.
Thank
you.

Hall

Cranston
good
evening
Council,
thanks
for
the
opportunity
to
be
able
to
speak
about
this
issue,
I'm
going
to
not
speak
about
the
pool,
I
think
it's
very
evident
and
clear
what
the
community
wants.
The
thing
that's
been
really
disturbing
to
me
goes
through
a
comment
council
president,
that
you
made
a
short
time
ago
and
that
statement
was
to
the
information
that
the
person
who
was
responsible
for
the
pool
for
so
many
years.
You
said
you
bring
us
information
that
none
of
us
have
think
about
that.
T
T
U
U
Thank
you
counselors
for
giving
me
the
opportunity
to
speak
this
evening,
I'm
here,
to
speak
out
in
opposition
of
the
closure
and
replacement
of
the
historic
Bud
along
pool,
we're
extremely
fortunate
to
have
such
a
beautiful
pool
right
in
our
city.
I
have
wonderful
memories
of
visiting
Bud
long
pool
as
a
kid
until
2019,
taking
both
of
my
sons
to
swim.
There,
we've
really
missed
swimming
there
over
the
past
four
Summers
and
all
that
I've
read
in
the
in
the
herald
and
in
the
journal
I've.
Yet
to
hear
anyone.
U
Apart
from
the
mayor,
who's
in
favor
of
the
Demolition
and
subsequent
rebuilding
of
a
smaller
pool,
I
urge
you
counselors
to
to
be
respectful
of
this
historic
gem
that
we're
lucky
enough
to
have
in
our
city.
Please
listen
to
your
constituents
and
vote
to
replay
to
repair
and
reopen
as
soon
as
possible,
bloodlamp
pool
as
it
is
currently
configured.
V
Hi
Carrie
Tingley
18
Bryant
Road
as
a
resident
of
Cranston
for
my
entire
life,
I
grew
up
in
Edgewood
and
I
just
want
to
say
it
offered
my
brothers
an
opportunity
to
have
jobs
and
otherwise
for
us
with
two
parent
families
that
worked
all
day
to
go
to
camp
and
be
able
to
go
swimming
while
our
parents
were
working
and
my
neighborhood
wasn't
that
great.
V
So
a
lot
of
single
parent
families
and
my
brothers
were
lucky
to
have
that
job
to
have
work
out
thick
and
to
get
out
of
where
we
came
from
and
also
I
wanted
to
say.
I
went
to
Buckland
Street
pool
to
check
out
the
splash
pad
that
they
have
and
I
want
to
say.
Not
one
child
was
in
the
splash
pad.
They
were
all
crammed
into
the
pool.
That's
over
there
and
I
stayed
there
for
a
long
while
to
watch
and
still
at
Barkley
Street,
not
one
child
in
that
Splash
Pad.
V
N
Hello,
my
name
is
Gail
Harvey
I
live
at
four
five.
Five
mechanic
at
Valley,
Parkway,
Cranston
I,
had
no
intention
of
speaking
tonight.
My
husband
died
in
March.
We
had
been
married
53
years,
but
I
as
I
listened
to
everybody.
I
thought,
maybe
it's
time
to
get
back
into
life
a
bit
and
as
I
listen
to
what
these
people
are
saying.
You
need
to
listen
to
them
too,
and
so
does
the
mayor.
N
N
N
You
can
also
opportunities
for
our
young
people
to
learn
how
to
be
lifeguards,
because
if
you
read
in
the
paper
in
the
Providence
Journal,
we
have
a
serious
problem
with
not
enough
lifeguards,
so
a
pool
would
afford
employment
opportunities
and
valuable
teaching
skills
of
life-saving.
You
cannot
teach
life-saving
in
five
feet
of
water
because
you
have
to
learn
how
to
dive
and
pick
up
people
from
the
bottom
of
a
pool,
because
I
took
Junior
life
saving
and
because
I
was
teaching,
I
was
actually
able
to
save
somebody's
life.
N
Doing
a
cross
chess
carry
because
that
young
woman
would
have
died
in
the
lake.
This
goes
beyond
politics,
I'm
sure
all
of
us
are
pretty
tired
of
I'm
a
Democrat
I'm,
a
republican.
We
can't
talk
blah
blah
blah
cut
it
out.
This
has
nothing
to
do
with
politics.
This
has
to
do
with
our
community
and
the
taxes
we
pay
to
provide
safety,
pleasure
and
a
wonderful
place
to
live
in
Cranston.
N
Why
is
Providence
building
a
pool?
This
problem
went
on
for
several
years
in
a
previous
administration,
and
perhaps
because
there
was
no
money,
it
was
ignored
like
many
problems
in
Cranston.
So
in
this
problem
you
have
the
opportunity
to
stop
the
nonsense,
stop
the
politics
and
think
about
the
people
who
live
here
and
think
about
what
people
have
said.
It's
not
easy
for
me
to
get
up
and
speak
tonight
and
if
I
sound
angry.
W
Michael
Farina
10,
Caitlin,
Court,
Cranston
I
had
no
intention
of
speaking
tonight,
but
when
you
see
Tom
Mojo
get
up
and
say
something
that
that
you
know
kind
of
makes,
you
think
you
have
to
get
up
and
say
something:
I
was
on
this
body
for
about
10
years,
give
or
take
sat
in
a
bunch
of
different
seats
at
a
bunch
of
different
levels.
But
one
thing
I
remember
was
the
process
the
process
of
everything
we
did.
W
You
know
the
mayor
would
would
look
at
an
asset
whether
it
was
a
building
or
a
pool
or
a
road.
He
would
do
a
review
of
that
asset
and
make
a
decision
present.
The
engineers
reports
to
this
Council
and
say
guys.
We
have
a
problem,
there's
a
challenge.
We
have
an
issue,
here's
my
plan
to
fix
this
issue.
He
would
present
that
plan
to
the
council.
The
council
will
then
debate
that
plan
decide
about
budgets
for
that
plan,
hear
from
the
people
on
that
plan.
W
None
of
that
has
happened,
and
it's
it
bothers
me
to
the
point
where,
for
a
decade,
that's
how
we
operated
and
now
all
of
a
sudden,
you
see
all
the
facts
that
have
been
mentioned
tonight,
where
he
has
a
proposal
for
a
pool
in
2021..
He
has
a
study
done
in
2021..
Some
many
meetings
have
happened,
I've
been
at
a
bunch
of
them
where
it's
been
discussed
and
talked
about
in
the
size.
W
W
W
X
Good
evening,
members
of
the
council
Evan
kirschenbaum
87
Pastor
View
Lane
Cranston
Rhode
Island
I'm,
here
to
talk
about
something
other
than
the
pool,
although
I
definitely
support
the
pool
and
the
different
points
that
have
been
made.
I'm
here
to
talk
about
a
problem
which
I
Envision
is
going
to
happen
located
at
1025,
Phoenix,
Avenue,
Cranston,
Rhode
Island.
Those
of
us
who
live
in
the
area
drive
by
that
property
quite
frequently
have
been
wondering.
What's
been
going
on
there,
my
wife
has
reached
out
to
several
Council
people
to
no
avail.
X
My
I've
called
the
planning
department
who
definitely
knew
that
something
was
going
on
there,
but
was
unwilling
to
comment
about
what
was
going
on
there
and
had
no
paperwork.
I
called
the
building
inspections
department
to
find
out
the
status
of
any
permits
and
I
found
out
two
permits.
One
was
the
renovation
of
an
existing
barn
and
the
other
was
the
construction
of
a
newborn
on
the
property,
with
the
definition
of
Farmland
to
be
used
for
the
zoning.
That
site
is
zoned
a80.
X
My
fear
is
that
the
gentleman
I
don't
know
me,
maybe
a
wonderful
person,
but
this
gentleman
has
either
the
misinformation
or
intends
to
do
this
and
which
is
to
construct
a
barn
to
store
his
construction
equipment
on
this
particular
site.
For
months
now,
I've
been
driving
by
that
site
and
I've
seen
the
owner
of
the
property,
whose
name
matches
the
same
name
on
various
trucks
on
that
property.
X
So
I
have
been
here.
I've
counted
I've
been
here
for
10
of
these
pictures
being
taken,
probably
over
700
Council
meetings.
First
time
in
Hawaiian
shirt,
but
I
know
this
I
know
this
that
while
people
ignore
what
is
going
on,
the
gentleman
who
is
building
there
is
establishing
his
rights,
because
while
you
watch
and
do
nothing,
he
continues
to
build
and
then
the
city
is
going
to
come
to
you
and
say
what
are
we
going
to
do?
X
These
things
are
neighborhood
issues.
These
things
like
the
pool
impact,
Residence
Life
on
a
day-to-day
basis,
and
I
would
been
here
like
I,
said
for
over
600
meetings
and
I've
heard
some
of
these
various
people
talk
about
these
issues.
This
this
was
okay
and
I
know
people
are
sitting
here.
These
were
the
longest
nights.
X
These
were
the
nights
you
dreaded
as
a
council
person
because
you
knew
you're
going
to
come
home
late,
but
these
are
the
nights
that
you
should
pay
the
most
attention
to,
and
the
question
you
all
should
be
asking
yourselves
is
not
what
time
am
I
going
to
get
out
of
here
tonight
is:
what
are
we
going
to
do
about
the
pool?
What
are
we
going
to
do
about
1025
Phoenix
Ave
besides
sit
here
and
look
at
a
lot
of
angry
people?
Are
we
going
to
budget
ourselves
to
consultant
in
the
next
budget
rounds?
X
Are
we
going
to
have
Tony
liberatory
testify
to
what
he
says
about
the
pool?
Are
we
going
to
get
our
own
facts
and
figures
to
educate
ourselves
and
not
be
a
reactionary
Force
to
say?
Oh
I
feel
bad
for
you,
but
there's
nothing.
I
can
do
and
that's
where
we're
headed
people
didn't
elect
you
to
sit
here
and
listen.
They
elected
you
to
sit
here
and
do.
Thank
you.
Y
Good
evening,
I'm
not
comfortable
with
sharing
my
address
or
name
but
I,
because
I'm
a
minor
but
I
did
want
to
express
my
opinions
about
the
Budlong
pool
I'm,
a
student
at
Cranston
I'm,
a
student
here
in
the
city
and
I'm,
not
only
a
member
of
many
clubs
but
I'm.
Also
a
diligent
member
of
society
I've
been
paying
attention
to
what
has
been
going
around
in
my
community.
I've
recently
asked
my
friends
if
they
would
join
this
meeting
tonight
and
you
know
what
they
said
they
didn't
know
about
any
of
this.
Y
They
didn't
know
what
was
going
on
with
Bud
long
pool
because
they
don't
care,
that's
a
problem.
They
should
care
I
care
because
I've
been
going
to
the
school
since
second
grade,
which
that's
seems
like
a
long
time.
For
me,
some
people-
that's
not,
but
this
can't
just
happen
like
I'm,
not
gonna
lie
first,
maybe
this
could
have
been
a
good
idea,
but
as
this
keeps
pouring
in
I'm
realizing
this
isn't
a
bad
idea.
This
is
not
a
good
idea.
Y
The
bud
long
pool
needs
desktop
desperate
repairs,
but
that
doesn't
mean
you
can
just
completely
shut
it
down
and
build
something
new
and
different.
Don't
get
me
wrong.
Change
is
great.
I
love
change,
but
not
when
it
comes
to
something
like
this.
This
pool
has
been
around
since
the
1940s
generations
of
families
have
been
going
to
this
pool,
including
my
own
family
and
I'm
ju
I'm,
not
just
gonna,
sit
around
and
see
it
be
destroyed
into
something
that
I
won't
even
be
able
to
go
to
this
pool
used
to
create
jobs
for
teens.
Y
Like
me,
I,
if
this
pool
was
open,
I
would
have
gone
there
and
went
for
a
job,
but
it
wasn't
so
I
didn't
have
an
option
for
that
and
great
you
want
to
do
all
these
new
plans.
That's
a
lot
of
money.
Where
is
that
money
going
to
come
from
I
heard
that
you
got
money
well
put
it
into
repairing
the
actual
pool,
not
just
building
something
new
that
not
everybody's
going
to
be
able
to
use,
and
not
only
this,
but
if
you
ever
do
repair
the
actual
pool?
What
about
people
with
disabilities?
Y
You
need
to
have
a
way
for
them
to
be
able
to
get
into
the
pool
people
in
well
wheelchairs,
I'm
on
my
swim
team
at
school.
This
would
have
been
a
great
way
for
me
to
practice.
We
had
to
swim
at
the
YMCA,
because
the
Parkview
pool
recently
broke
well
the
YMCA
they
have
a
wheelchair
ramp.
They
should
have
a
wheelchair
ramp
at
Budlong
pool.
They
should
make
it
accessible
to
anybody.
Y
The
mayor
has
been
dismissive
one
question
about
the
plans
for
the
pool
his
thoughts,
which
I
understand
the
most
most
of
you
already
know,
is
to
have
shut
it
down
to
a
have
a
pool.
A
third
of
the
size
have
three
lock
Lanes,
a
splash
pad
a
basketball
section
with
volleyball
nets
and
seating
sections.
That
all
sounds
great.
How
much
of
that
is
actually
going
to
be
used.
Z
Y
Y
That
problem
is
only
going
to
get
worse
if
you
put
in
a
whole
entire
barbecue
section
that
sounds
great
who's,
going
to
take
care
of
that
who's
going
to
clean
up
after
themselves.
Nobody
shutting
down
the
pool
and
demolishing
it
to
create
new
activity
centers,
not
to
mention
destroying
the
bath
house
and
building
up
from
the
ground
up
before
covet
had
happened.
The
bottling
pool
was
a
great
source
of
summer
jobs
which
I've
already
previously
mentioned,
but
this
kid
this
can't
just
happen.
Do
something
about
it.

I

I

what's
really

what
was

tonight
that
the

hasn't

honest

It's

What
I
see
happening
with

I
want

think
about
what
happened
with

how
there

grew
up
in
Providence
coming
to
the
Budlong
pool.
As
a
teenager
I've
taken
my
niece
and
nephews
there
as
an
adult
I've
gone
there
with
my
friends
as
an
adult
and
we've
all
sorely
missed
it.
Since
it's
been
closed,
I
think
I'm
most
disturbed
by
what
seems
like
to
be
a
pattern
of
to
be
frank.
Lying
from
the
governor
and
the
governor
I
mean.
AB
Excuse
me,
the
mayor
and
the
mayor's
Administration
to
the
public,
to
this
Council
in
documents
and
reports
and
to
me
that
should
be
actionable.
The
the
mayor
should
be
held
accountable
for
those
misrepresentations
for
the
pattern
of
misrepresentations
and
I
I,
don't
know
who,
besides,
the
council,
can
hold
the
mayor
accountable
for
misleading
people
intentionally.
It
seems
he
shouldn't
be
able
to
get
away
with
that.
AB
Also,
given
how
unpopular
and
expensive
this
plan
is
and
seeming
that
saving
the
Budlong
pool
and
rebuilding
it
in
its
current
state
seems
to
be
much
less
expensive.
I'm
left
wondering
what
is
the
mayor's
motivation
for
this
plan?
Why
has
he
spent
so
much
time
misleading
us?
Why
is
he
spending
so
much
time
and
energy
and
money
going
against
the
will
of
the
people?
And
why
is
he
so
hell-bent
on
spending
so
much
money
to
go
against
the
will
of
the
people?
AB
I
think
that's
a
really
important
question
that
the
council
should
get
to
the
bottom
of
I
hope
that
you
will
hold
him
accountable.
I
hope
that
you
will
Elevate
our
voices
and,
as
someone
mentioned,
hire
your
own
person
to
bring
the
facts
to
the
council
so
that
you
can
hold
the
mayor's
feet
to
the
fire
and,
lastly,
I
would
say
people
left
to
complain
about
teenagers
getting
into
trouble,
causing
trouble
or
being
lazy,
but
then
to
take
away
one
of
the
best
assets.
AB
A
Hello,
my
name
is
Sonia
poydrus
I
live
at
190
Aqueduct
Road
Cranston,
my
home
overlooks
the
pool
I'm
the
house
with
the
collapsed
wall
next
to
the
pool.
So
a
lot
of
people
look
at
me
funny.
Lately,
I
just
want
to
read
an
email
that
I
sent
to
the
historical
preservation
and
Heritage
commission
there's
been
a
lot
of
mention
of
the
historical
significance
about
the
pool
it
was
born.
A
I,
say
born
with
some
various
personal
issue
for
me,
but
it
was
built
in
the
1940
in
the
WPA,
Administration
and
I
believe
that
it
deserves
this
kind
of
recognition.
So
I'm
just
going
to
read
to
you
what
I
wrote
to
them,
I'm
reaching
out
in
response
to
a
Facebook
post
by
the
Rhode
Island
historical
preservation
and
Heritage
Commission
on
February
15
2019.
A
Cranston
residents
have
organized
an
advocacy
group
to
restore
cranston's
Budlong
pool
to
its
original
structure,
which
has
been
closed
since
2020
and
left
to
deteriorate.
The
pool
holds
historical
significance
having
been
built
by
the
works
progress
administration
in
1940
as
one
of
the
largest
of
its
kind
in
Rhode
Island
and
one
of
the
largest
in
the
country.
This
puts
us
on
the
map.
A
The
diving
board
and
the
slide
were
eliminated
for
safety,
but
the
pool's
significant
size
always
allowed
for
swimmers
of
all
ages
to
enjoy
the
pool
together
and
kept
the
historical
significance
intact
from
toddler
spashing
in
the
two
foot
section:
adults
in
the
mid
lap,
Lanes
all
the
way
down
to
the
teens
jumping
in
the
in
the
excuse
me
in
the
deep
end,
our
most
significant
population.
As
we've
mentioned
battles.
A
The
challenge
of
in-person
socializing
versus
social
media,
who
would
likely
not
come
to
a
pool
if
it
was
a
much
smaller
size,
I
think
we
can
all
agree
on
that.
We've
all
been
teenagers.
We
know
what
that
feels
like
to
go
to
a
little
pool.
We
want
the
big
pool,
have
our
own
section
and,
like
we
said,
evolve
as
we
grow,
a
smaller
pool
could
simply
not
accommodate
those
populations
Gathering
simultaneously,
as
well
as
our
large
Cranston
Rec
summer
camp
program
and
those
taking
swim.
Lessons
plainly
put
downsizing.
A
The
pool
would
be
an
unfortunate
compromise
to
our
community's
social
landscape.
An
online
petition
to
preserve
the
pool
has
received
an
overwhelming
response
with
over
a
thousand
signatures,
which
I'm
sure
has
grown
significantly.
2
000
now,
in
the
past
weeks
alone,
confirming
the
clear
needful
for
a
proposal
resolution
to
restore
our
pool
at
its
current
size
to
preserve
its
historic
historical
significance,
as
mentioned
above
in
response
to
the
question.
What
were
your
favorite
memories
of
the
bud?
A
A
The
experience
of
losing
Rocky
Point
holds
a
flame
to
the
thought
of
the
pool
being
cut
into
a
third
of
the
size
and
we've
joined
Cranston
City
Council
Members,
and
advocating
to
return
to
option
one
of
the
three
potential
options
presented
in
The
architectures,
Firm
feasibility
study
in
April
of
2022,
which
has
said
to
bring
the
pool
and
the
pool
house
up
to
code
with
ADA
compliance.
So
we
agree.
We
want
that.
We're
not
disputing
that
at
all.
A
We
just
want
to
preserve
the
size
of
the
pool
for
all
the
reasons
that's
been
mentioned
tonight,
so
preserving
its
original
size
and
structure,
leaving
room
to
consider
an
item
from
option
two,
such
as
a
dog
park,
to
be
included
in
the
project
on
the
uninhabited
land
behind
the
existing
pool.
Next
to
the
baseball
fields,
we
have
a
splash
pad
at
Bain,
that's
new!
It
was
on
the
news
it
was
promoted.
We
don't
need
another
Splash
Pad.
We
need
to
preserve
the
size
of
the
pool
with
this
large
community
effort.
A

AC

I
come
before
you
again.
I
was
here
in
the
last
meeting
a
couple
of
months
ago
to
talk
about
the
Budlong
pool.
I'm.
Sorry
I
was
a
little
late,
so
I
probably
missed
a
lot
of
the
comments.
AC
I'm
sorry
I
missed
Tony
Liberatore,
former
Recreation
director
I
too,
am
a
former
Recreation
director
here
in
the
city
of
Cranston,
and
I
am
currently
the
recreation
director
for
the
town
of
Somerset
in
Somerset
Mass,
so
I'm
a
little
bit
up
to
date
with
a
lot
of
the
current
trends
as
far
as
pools
also
splash
pads
splash
parks
and
the
like
I
was
part
of
the
process,
as
I
told
the
council
before
25
years
ago,
when
it
was
needed
to
have
some
work
done
on
the
pool
back,
then,
when
I
was
the
pool
director
at
the
North
Providence
pool
in
North
Providence
Rhode
Island,
which
at
the
time
was
one
of
the
state-of-the-art
pools
in
the
state
that
was
full
director
for
and
swim
coach
at
that
time
was
I
was
the
first
certified
pool
operator
in
the
state
of
Rhode.
AC
AC
At
that
time,
there
I
was
asked
questions
about
converting
a
pool
outdoor
pool
to
an
indoor
pool,
so
those
questions
are
currently
being
were
asked
to
me
all
the
time
fast
forward.
All
this
was
the
fact
when
the
mayor,
at
the
time
when
he
was
running
for
office
back
in
whatever
year,
it
was
when
he
came
door
to
door
around
the
neighborhood,
and
he
knew
that
I
was
the
recreation
director
at
here
in
Cranston.
He
knew
that
I
had
a
history
of
the
pools.
We
we
have
a
good
relation.
AC
AC
AC
AC
AC
I
wish
I
was
here
to
hear
Tony
liberatori's
comments
about
what
happened
three
years
ago
when
they
put
a
shell
in
the
pool
they.
They
asked
the
council
for
two
hundred
thousand
dollars
to
do
that.
Okay,
I
was
against
that
Tony
asked
me.
Tony
called
me,
okay,
and
to
this
day,
I
will
say
it
again
and
again
and
again
Tony's
my
friend,
okay,
but
I
told
him.
It
was
the
wrong
thing
to
do,
because
that
shell
was
done
previously
in
the
past
20
years
and
we
had
to
take
it
out
and
redo
it.
AC
So
I
get
the
historical
part
of
it.
My
wife
grew
up,
grew
up
on
335
Aqueduct,
Road,
okay.
She
tells
me
stories
about
when
she
was
a
kid
going
over
there.
That's
not
the
type
of
pool
it
is
now.
That's
not
the
type
of
recreational
Trend.
That's
out
there
right
now.
Large
outdoor
people
don't
want
to
hear
it,
but
large
outdoor
pools
like
that.
AC
Okay,
well
Council
I
have
to
do
to
let
you
know
that
that's
this
is
a
recreational
Trend
I
know
my
time
is
almost
up,
but
I
I
implore
you
that
to
let
the
mayor
continue
with
this
plan,
because
that
pool
it
may
be
smaller
than
what
it
is
now,
but
that's
six
that
pool
with
lap
Lanes
can
do
what
we've
talked
about.
They
teach
swim
lessons:
okay,
at
the
same
time,
the
same
size
pool
as
Cranston
Y,
Park,
View
pool
same
size,
okay
and
you're.
Only
talking
about
Memorial
Day
to
Labor,
Day
anyways.
C
AC
AC
Okay,
so
again,
I'll
be
at
the
next
meeting
again
saying
what
I
have
to
say:
I
implore
the
council
to
let
the
plan
go
through
and
I
can,
if
I
can
be
of
any
assistance
to
any
member
of
the
the
council.
For
my
interpretation
or
my
expertise
in
this
matter,
I'll
gladly
answer
anybody's
questions.
Thank
you.
C

being
no

else

there
anyone
on

AD
Hi,
my
name
is
Jennifer
sugrue
I
live
at
49,
Normandy,
Drive
I'm
just
here,
because
I
think
the
bud
long
pool
is
a
gem
in
this
city.
I
moved
to
Cranston
from
Providence
about
10
years
ago,
and
Providence
is
able
to
have
five
city
pools
I.
Don't
understand
why
a
city
like
Cranston,
the
second
largest
in
the
state,
can't
maintain
one
beautiful
pool.
AD
That's
been
around
since
1940.,
my
oldest
daughter
learned
how
to
swim
at
the
pool
she
was
taught
by
Cranston
West
and
Cranston
East
students
who
were
employed
by
the
city.
It
was
a
great
Community
program.
My
youngest
daughter,
unfortunately
has
not
been
able
to
take
swim
lessons
at
the
bud,
long
pool
or
really
any
pool,
because
it's
so
expensive.
The
belong
pool
offered
community
lessons
that
were
affordable
for
families
and
it
employed
our
children.
AD
It's
just
very
unfortunate
that
the
mayor
has
been
so
Shady
sort
of
not
transparent,
not
telling
us
the
truth,
and
if
we
are
going
to
change
the
pool,
why
is
there
only
one
offer
that's
been
on?
Why
are
there
other
studies?
Why
aren't
there
other
options
so
I
just
hope
that
you
guys
can
do
more
research
and
we
can
all
come
to
an
agreement
that
supports
all
the
children
in
our
community
from
the
youngest
to
the
oldest.
Thank
you.
AF
Hi,
my

is
Tiffany

I
live
at

Royal
Avenue
I've
been
a
lifelong
resident
of
Cranston.
I,
actually
grew
up
living
on
Lexington,
Avenue
and
walking
to
the
pool
from
my
house
every
day
in
the
summertime.
My
brother,
through
the
Cranston
you
know,
City
programming
was
actually
able
to
work
at
the
pool.
It
was
one
of
the
first
jobs
that
he
ever
had.
AF
AF
Since
that
closure,
it
has
been
left
to
sit
and
rot
and
I
think
that's
a
travesty
I
think
that,
had
we
taken
the
time
during
the
pandemic,
when
things
were
closed,
to
go
ahead
and
address
the
concerns
of
this
pool,
we
wouldn't
be
sitting
here
having
this
conversation
now,
where
we're
debating
how
much
money
we're
going
to
spend
to
repair
this
pool
or
are
we
going
to
demolish
it
and
do
a
smaller
pool
with
a
splash
pad
or
whatever
on
Earth?
It
is
that's
in
the
mayor's
proposal.
AF
I've
been
listening
to
people
commenting
and
majority
of
the
commenters
tonight
are
all
in
support
of
keeping
the
pool
in
the
exact
condition
that
it's
in
right
now,
the
exact
size
that
it's
in
right
now
doing
the
necessary
repairs,
making
it
Ada
compatible
and
I.
Don't
think
that
we
need
to
open
up
another
splash
pad
in
this
city.
I
have
watched
different
projects,
checks
go
around
this
city
and
I've
never
seen
any
response
as
passionate
as
I
have
to
what's
going
on
with
the
Budlong
pool.
AF
I
would
love
nothing
more
than
for
the
pool
to
be
repaired,
to
be
opened
to
have
a
new
bath
house
and
for
my
children
to
finally
get
to
enjoy
going
to
this
pool
the
way
that
I
did
Growing
Up.
AE
AG
Hi,
my

is
Mike
Stanton
Susan
housing
is
my
wife.
Is
her
Zoom
account?
We
live
on
Bessie
Williams
Drive
in
Cranston
I
would
like
to
Echo
the
residents
who
have
grown
up
with
this
pool.
I've
lived
in
Cranston
since
1985..
My
kids
grew
up
swimming
there.
It's
a
tremendous
natural
resource
and
I
would
just
like
to
respond
to
the
gentleman
one
of
the
last
speakers
in
Chambers
there.
The
pool
expert
who
said
this
pool
cannot
be
rebuilt
as
a
historic
pool
and
I
think
he's
really
mischaracterizing
the
discussion
here.
AG
Nobody
is
saying
that
this
is
a
historic
monument
that
can
only
be
built
with
the
tools
of
the
1930s.
The
reports
that
have
been
commissioned
in
recent
years
actually
say
that
the
pool
can
be
repaired
and
it
can
be
done
more
cheaply
than
the
mayor's
plan
and
I
think
what
this
stresses.
A
lot
of
people
is
that
the
mayor
has
cherry-picked
in
this,
led
you
and
us
about
the
options
and
now
he's
going
to
go
forward
with
this
plan,
he's
going
to
have
a
public
Hearing
in
September,
but
basically
it's
a
fate
of
complete.
AG
Unless
you
can
take
some
action
to
stop
him
or
show
that
the
public
really
doesn't
want
this,
and
so
I
would
really
implore
you
to
use
whatever
tools
you
can
to
put
the
brakes
on
this
plan.
We've
suffered
the
absence
of
the
pool
for
the
last
four
years,
neglect
that
predates
the
current
mayor,
but
I
don't
think
that
should
be
compounded
by
you
know
this
ill
thought
out
plan
that
nobody
seems
to
want.
Thank
you
so
much.
AE
AH
Yes,
hi
I
moved
to
Cranston
in
2019
in
November,
I
never
knew
about
the
bud.
Long
pool
I
never
knew
there
was
such
a
Wonder
in
Cranston
until
I
started.
Hearing
about
the
mayor's
plan
to
reduce
its
size
and
in
a
limited
space,
apparently
put
these
other
activities
in
and
around
a
much
smaller
pool,
I
believe
it
in
a
place
that
had
a
three
to
five
foot
pool.
It
is
only
good
for
children's
parties
when
you
want
to
help
the
people
in
your
community.
AH
What
you
need
is
a
big
pool
that
is
swimmable
that
can
hold
lessons.
That
is
a
place
for
people
to
cool
off.
This
may
be
the
coolest
summer
in
our
future.
AH
We're
going
to
be
much
hotter
as
time
passes,
and
we
need
things
like
cooling
stations
and
something
like
this
pool
for
people
to
be
able
to
have
fun
and
to
be
able
to
cool
down
and,
like
everyone
else,
I'm
somewhat
taken
aback.
If
not
offended
that
the
mayor
has
perhaps
not
been
transparent,
that
the
council
to
this
point
feels
as
though
it
cannot
take
action.
I
hope.
After
this
meeting,
action
will
be
taken
and
when
you've
got
a
gem
like
this,
it
brings
people
to
Cranston.
AH
It
is
something
that
makes
the
people
in
Cranston
enjoy
the
city
and
I
really
think
everything
needs
to
be
done
to
preserve
it
in
its
current
size
fixed,
but
in
its
current
size
and
I
hope
everyone's
listening
to
the
will
of
the
people,
and
that
something
will
happen
as
a
result.
Thank
you
for
listening
and
thank
you
for
the
opportunity.
C
At
this
time,
we're
going
to
put
a
pause
on
take
a
break
as
the
sonographer
needs.
A
little
break
and
we'll
come
back
in
about
five
minutes.
Is
that
sufficient
run
okay
about
five
minutes,
and
we
will
return
to
the
zoom
public
comment
and
then,
if
anyone
else
in
Chambers
I
know
there
was
someone
who's
up
to
the
podium
can
speak
thanks.

AI
AI
AI
AI
These
side
is
historic.
They
have
to
hold
to
particular
things
to
their
area
from
that
period
when
those
homes
were
built,
they
have
to
have
certain
paint
colors
things
like
that
they
don't
have
outhouses
and
so
to
sit
there
and
think
that
we
got
to
replay
replace
pipes
with
lead
pipes.
Oh
I
change
filters,
some
other
type
of
filters,
that's
bogus,
in
my
opinion,
the
clubhouse.
Yes,
it
needs
to
be
cleaned
up.
It
does
need
a
new
bath
area.
AI
The
showers
Etc
I've
seen
the
pictures,
the
rust
stains
and
everything
else.
Nobody
goes
in
there
to
take
a
shower
like
they
would
at
home,
they're,
not
bringing
in
soap
shampoo,
bath,
towels,
a
bathrobe
or
anything
else.
They
go
in
there
to
get
wet.
That's
it.
That's
the
only
requirement
that
the
pool
has
you
have
to
take
a
shower
before
you
went
to
the
pool
area,
so
why
this
is
even
an
issue
with
which
originally
started
was
going
to
tear
down
the
clubhouse.
AI
AI
AI
AI
You
know
I've
come
home
from
work
in
times
past,
since
I'm
retired
and
at
the
time
the
pool
would
be
open
till
eight
o'clock
at
night
and
if
I
wanted
to
go
for
a
dip,
I
could
go
for
a
dip.
So
to
think
that
this
should
even
fly
is
just
crazy.
We
sold
a
bill
of
goods
with
Eatery.
AI
Not
the
people
didn't
deserve
it
and
I
know
how
hard
councilman
worked
on
that
one
and
it's
not
getting
all
the
credit
he
deserves,
but
it's
a
lot
of
money
that
was
put
into
that,
but
we
can't
do
the
same
thing
for
this
part
of
the
city
Providence.
In
the
meantime,
Mr
Rickman
in
Providence
is
trying
to
have
a
new
pool
built
almost
the
size
of
ours,
and
it
will
be
an
indoor
pool.
AI
We
don't
have
that
luxury
now.
If
the
mayor
wants
to
spend
for
a
million
dollars
and
make
at
least
half
of
it
and
into
a
pool
for
the
winter
months,
fine
and
dandy,
but
leave
the
pool
at
the
original
size,
some
is
if
it
was
rainy
we
used
to
go
to
Parkview.
We
brought
our
pool
tags,
we
went
to
Parkview
now
you
can't
even
go
to
Parkview
because
that
pool
isn't
working.
So
we
have
a
problem:
I
have
no
confidence
in
our
Administration,
none
whatsoever,
we're
told
everything
is
after
the
fact
it's
already
in
place.
AI
C
AE
AJ
Yes,
we
can
hear
you
hi,
yes,
I'm
Tina,
Dumas
I'm
from
145
Preston
Avenue
in
Cranston
I've
been
living
here.
All
my
life
I
grew
up
here.
Also
I
have
taken
my
older
children
when
they
were
younger
to
One
Long
pool
I
actually
had
a
baby
of
my
own
10
years
ago.
AJ
I
took
him
to
Bon
long
pool,
maybe
once
or
twice
and
I
tried
to
sign
him
up
for
swimming
lessons,
and
they
were
full
that
year
that
the
year
before
covet
came
out.
They
were
full
and
I.
Couldn't
send
him
for
swimming
lessons
there.
Then,
once
the
pandemic
came
out,
we
couldn't
swim
there.
It
was
closed.
So
now
my
son
is
10
and
I
obviously
can't
send
them
to
swimming
lessons
there.
Because
it's
closed
so
I
am
for
opening
the
pool
the
way
it
is
absolutely
again.
AJ
I've
heard
every
I've
heard
people
talk
tonight
since
seven
o'clock
and
it
would
be
beneficial
for
the
pool
to
stay
the
way
it
is
and
reopened
again,
so
other
people
can
have
swimming
lessons
of
the
Next
Generation
and
hopefully
they
would
not
miss
out,
like
my
son
did
when
he,
when
I
tried
to
sign
him
up
for
the
swimming
lessons.
AJ
As
far
as
the
the
proposal
for
the
mayor
of
Cranston
again,
it's
you
can't
fit
all
those
people
in
a
small
pools.
That's
not
gonna
work,
so
I'm
for
the
big
pool.
AJ
If
there's
damages
to
it
or
if
it
needs
to
be
repaired
repair
it
us
taxpayers,
pay
a
lot
of
money
in
the
city
of
Cranston
and
I.
Would
love
to
I
wouldn't
mind
paying
helping
out
paying
for
city
taxes
if
it's
going
to
repair
that
big
pool
I
would
not
like
paying
for
the
small
pool
if
it
was
to
go
that
way
again,
I
pay
a
lot
of
money
in
Cranston
and
I
would
be
well
more
than
willing
to
help
out
to
repay
the
big
pool.
That's
there
now.
Thank
you.
AE
AK
Yes,
I
hope
you
can
hear
me.
My
name
is
Melissa
Willis
and
I
live
at
720
Pontiac
Avenue
in
Cranston
in
1988,
my
family
moved
to
Cranston
when
I
was
10
years
old
and
my
brother,
my
younger
brother
and
I,
we
spent
so
much
time
in
the
summer
at
Bud
long
pool
it
was
the
place
to
be
in
the
in
the
place
to
be
seen,
and
even
though
that
pool
is
enormous,
and
it
really
is
I
mean,
like
someone
said
earlier,
it's
one
of
the
biggest
in
the
country.
AK
It
was
a
way
for
us
to
socialize
and
sort
of
you
know,
grab
that
tag
and
be
out
there
all
day,
staying
cool
and
having
fun
with
our
friends
and
I
used
it
really
through
the
whole
90s
and
even
as
a
young
adult
and
even
into
the
early
2000s,
and
it
really
is
a
shame
that
the
mayor
is
going
this
route
to
make
this
pool
so
much
smaller
I
mean
the
size
of
the
pool
in
its
history
is
what
made
it
special
and
what
makes
Cranston
special.
AK
It
makes
up
for
a
lot
of
other
things
in
our
city
and
what
I'm
really
concerned
about
is
if
this
project
goes
forward
and
we
get
this
tiny
little
pool
and
splash
pads
again,
which
are
already
at
UB
Bain
right
down
the
street
and
that
probably
won't
be
used
and
other
things
that
we
really
don't
need
in
that
location.
AK
It's
the
sort
of
thing
that
once
it's
gone,
you
can't
get
it
back.
So
once
we
have
this
small
pool
in
a
different
Recreation
Center
there's
it's
very
unlikely
that
there'll
ever
be
a
pool
that
large
in
our
city
or
in
the
surrounding
areas.
AK
Again
and
I'm
all
for
having
it
fixed
and
I'm
all
for
having
it
Ada
accessible,
my
mother's,
handicapped
and
sure
she'd
love
to
use
the
pool,
so
I
love
the
idea
of
those
things
being
upgraded,
but
the
pool
needs
to
stay
the
size
that
it
is
and
that
area
needs
to
be
dedicated
for
the
pool,
which
was
what
it
was
meant
to
be
not
just
another
Park.
Thank
you.

C
AF
AM
Okay,
sorry
I'm
new
to
this
I
mean
it
kill
a
406
Park
Avenue
in
Cranston
I
moved
here
in
the
early
1980s
and
I
was
told
what
a
wonderful
Community
this
is
for
families
and
I
really
can't
think
of
anything
more
important
for
families
than
this
pool.
The
size
may
not
have
to
be
quite
as
big
as
as
it
is,
and
I've
been
in
larger
pools.
So
I
can't
imagine
in
the
pool
in
Fontana.
AM
North
Carolina
is
much
larger
than
Judson
was
built
at
the
same
time,
but
if
they
could
build
this
pool
during
a
time
of
great
economic
hardship
which
that
program
was
then
they
can
keep
this
pool
open
now
and
it's
very
important
for
families.
It's
important
for
people
to
learn
young
people
to
learn
how
to
swim.
It
could
be
life-saving.
It's
a
way
to
meet
friends
and
it's
important
for
me
as
an
elderly
person
to
have
a
place
to
go
swimming
when
I
called
the
mayor's
office
in
April.
AM
C
Okay,
public
comment
on
Zoom
is
now
closed
with

in
Chambers.
If
there's
anyone
who
has
not
already
been
heard
this
evening
in
Chambers
that
wishes
to
speak,
you
can
do
so
at
this
time
before
I
close
public
comment.
Please
keep
your
comments
limited
to
four
minutes
and
please
state
your
name
and
address
for
the
record.
Thank
you.
AN
AN
A
community,
Builder
and
I
also
think
it's
a
it's
a
public
health
issue
with
with
the
climate
crisis,
as
it's
developing
as
it
gets
hotter,
it's
going
to
become
more
and
more
necessary
as
a
resource
for
people
to
cool
and
know
a
splash
pad
is
not
the
same
thing.
I
also,
above
all,
think
it's
very
much
a
social
Equity
issue.
Not
everyone
has
a
private
pool
in
their
backyard.
There
are
many
people
in
Cranston
who
don't
even
have
backyards,
and
they
need
access
to
something
like
this.
AN
It's
important
for
people
to
have
a
place
to
learn
how
to
swim
as
well
as
to
just
have
fun,
and
you
know,
cool
off
so
for
all
of
these
reasons,
I
think
it's
essential
that
Cranston
maintain
at
least
just
one
public
swimming
pool,
and
if
it
wants
to
expand
it
and
add
things
to
it
great,
but
there's
no
way
it
should
be
taken
away
from
the
public.
Thank
you.

There
are
several
matters
to

The

matter
being
consideration
of

for
the
month
of
July
2023,
as
requested
by
the

This
matter,
passed
out
of
committee
and
I,
would
urge
passage
this

for
the

came

want
to

that
for

committee
met
on

passed

I
urge
passage
this

next
on
the
agenda
is
public
comment
for
any
undocumented
items.
If
members
of
the
public
wish
to
be
heard
on
any
matters
that
are
not
on
the
agenda,
now
is
your
opportunity
first
we'll
take
comment
from
members
of
the
public
in
Chambers.
Please
state
your
name
and
address
for
the
record
and
please
keep
your
comments
limited
to
four
minutes,
and
then
we
will
go
to
zoom.
Is
there
anyone
in
Chambers
that
wishes
to
be
heard
on
undocketed
matters
there
being
no
one
Shannon?
Is
there
anyone
on
Zoom
that
wishes
to
be
heard.
C
J
C
The
next
agenda
item
I,
will
be
recusing
from
this,
and
the
reason
for
my
recusal
is
that
and
on
a
personal
level,
myself,
along
with
other
residents
of
the
city,
have
some
pending
litigation
that
the
matter
will
potentially
be
heard
by
the
zoning
board
of
review
in
its
form
of
the
platting
board
of
review
on
appeal.
So
for
that
reason,
I
will
recuse
this
evening
and
I
will
hand
the
floor
over
to
council
vice
president
Vargas
to
take
that
vote
as
I
leave
the
chambers.
If
someone
can
come
get
me
after.
Thank
you.

We
have
the
legal
expense
analysis
that
was
provided
for
the
period
of
July
1
to
August
22
2023,
with
no
votes
being
taken.
Does
anyone
have
any
discussion,
questions
Administration,
councilwoman,
Renzulli.
AR
Thank
you,
I
suppose
this
is
for
the
administration.
I'm
just
wondering
I,
see
de
sisters
has
a
pretty
big
number
here.
I'm
I,
don't
know
if
it's
appropriate
to
ask
now
if
I
need
to
go
in
executive
session,
so
someone
can
tell
me,
but
how
much
more
do
we
have
on
these
cases?
Is
there
any
estimate
how
long
this
is
going
to
go
on
I,
don't
know
if
anyone
can
answer
that
or
if
it's
you
know.
AS
Well,
it
depends
how
much
you're
looking
for
I
don't
know
how
much
information
you're
looking
for
if
it's
something
that
could
be
answered
in
one
or
two
lines:
yeah
communicate
with
him.
But
if
it's
going
to
involve
any
kind
of
a
discussion,
if
it
goes
beyond
that,
I
think
it's
it's
more
appropriate
in
executive
session.
AQ
Vice
president
Vargas
thank
you,
would
it
make
sense
at
all
I'm
wondering
if
the
council
has
any
appetite
to
just
go
into
executive
session
and
for
the
next
council
meeting
at
all
in
terms
of
just
really
getting
a
overview
as
to
what
we
have
on
here
so
clearly
not
this
evening
and
not
to
pick
at
one
legal
expense
over
the
other,
but
just
a
just
a
refresher
again
as
to
what
each
item
is
roughly
subject
matter
about
and
where
we
are
I
mean.
AQ
If
any
council
members
has
any
specific
ones,
then
I
would,
you
know
obviously
recommend
reaching
out
to
to
the
legal
to
the
city
solicitor,
but
I
can
think
of
at
least
two
on
here.
That
I
want
to
just
get
some
additional
information
on
here
and
instead
of
kind
of
I'd,
rather
have
all
of
us
on
the
same
page
and
getting
this
information
at
this
same
time
versus
getting
bits
and
pieces.
It
so
I
recommend
I'm
not
sure
through
through
the
council,
to
the
clerk
through
the
council
president.
AT
AT
What
is
expected
to
be
done
in
these
cases?
Those
are
proper
subject
matters
for
executive
sessions.
The
thing
is:
is
that
for
the
executive
session
items
they
should
be
listed
by
case
is
not
just
enough
to
say
we're
going
into
executive
session
to
discuss
litigation.
You
have
to
actually
list
each
individual
case,
so
just
so
we're
clear
on
that.
C
Okay,
so
to
the
points
being
made
by
Council,
vice
president
Vargas
and
and
councilwoman
Renzulli,
if
there's
a
specific
litigation
matter
that
you
want
to
have
heard
once
you
you
know
reach
out,
and
then
we
can
schedule
that
executive
session
for
the
next
council
meeting,
okay
and
and
just
a
reminder
just
do
it
well
in
advance
so
that
the
clerk
can
make
proper
accommodations
and
so
that
the
solicitor
can
can
be
available
to
answer
those
questions.
Okay,.
C
D
D
Counselors,
we
will
be
holding
our
first
introductory
meeting
with
Wes
Wesson
and
Samson
the
comp
plan
consultant,
possibly
on
September
20th.
This
meeting
date
needs
to
be
agreed
upon
by
the
city
plan
commission
at
their
regular
meeting
next
week.
At
this
meeting,
they
will
discuss
the
anticipated
process,
a
rough
timeline,
Milestones
opportunities
for
public
engagement
and
expectations
for
the
city
plan
Commissioners,
who
have
to
vet
this
plan
prior
to
it
being
forwarded
to
the
city
council,
feel
consideration.
D
I
will
email
the
Council
next
week
with
the
agreed
upon
date
for
this
special
introductory
meeting,
which
will
be
duly
posted
in
stream
to
purse
city
code.
We
just
met
with
the
consultant
this
afternoon,
so
I
had
little
to
report
until
we
are
able
to
hold
that
meeting
contact
me
directly.
If
you
have
any
other
questions.
Z
C
There
being
none
next
on
the
agenda
is
from
the
administration,
Bud
long
pool
public
meeting.
AU
I
think
every
most
everyone
is
aware,
but
those
who
want
there
will
be
a
public
meeting
informational
meeting
q
a
at
the
Cranston
East
Auditorium
September
6
6
PM.
Certainly
all
the
public
are
welcome.
C
Along
those
lines,
since
we
were
advised
of
this
meeting
on
September
6th,
the
council
will
call
special
session
for
that
same
time
and
location.
This
way
we
will
not
be
presented
with
any
open
meetings,
act
issues
so
that
all
council
members
can
have
a
voice
along
with
the
public
and
the
administration
at
that
public
meeting.
So
we'll
be
sure
to
do.
Do
that
as
well
and
just
a
reminder
to
the
public
it'll
take
place
at
Cranston
East
at
I,
believe.
Is
it
6
p.m?
Director
Moretti,
6
p.m;
okay,
all
right,
Council!
C
It's
a
it's
a
council
meeting,
so
that
will
be
the
case.
Yes,
Council
woman,
renzuli.
AR
C
I
I
can
tell
you
this
that
the
council
will
have
a
council
meeting
where
it's
an
invitation
to
the
public
or
public
comment
at
that
time.
That's
our
intention,
as
we
hold
all
of
our
other
sessions
so
but
I
can't
answer
for
the
administration
and.
AU
AT
So
what
I
can
tell
the
council
through
the
chair,
if
this
room
I
believe,
has
a
capacity
of
100
people
if
you're
expecting
more
than
100
people?
And
you
fill
this
room
to
capacity
you're
going
to
have
to
adjourn
the
meeting
and
reconvene
in
a
larger
venue?
My
suggestion
would
be
perhaps
to
set
it
for
a
larger
venue.
So
you
don't
run
into
that
problem
which
would
be
I
would
assume
Cranston
East.
AQ
Thank
you
I,
just
just
just
to
make
sure
that
I
have
this
clear.
We
have
a
council
meeting,
but
they
admit
it's
going
to
be
a
mayor
is
having
a
forum.
Are
there
two
separate
meetings
or
is
it
one
council
meeting
relatively
just
with
the
full
focus
of
Bud
lung
pool
I
just
want
to
make
sure
that
I'm
clear
on
that.
AU
As
you
know,
in
fact,
I
believe
I
sent
out
an
email
a
few
days
ago
to
let
you
know,
and
certainly
please
share-
that
the
mayor
will
be
having
a
public
meeting
to
discuss
informational
meeting
about
the
Budlong
pool
at
Cranston
East
Auditorium
six
o'clock
on
September
6th.
C
Okay,
just
to
be
clear
to
the
public,
when
the
administration
sent
out
the
email
I
received
it
my
first
knowledge
of
it,
just
as
everyone
else
sitting
in
this
room
as
to
then
the
general
public
that
same
day.
So,
if
I
knew
in
advance
that
there
this
was
going
to
take
place,
I
would
have
happily
coordinated
and
had
it
present
at
the
same
time
that
we'd
be
having
a
session
as
Council.
But
that
was
not
the
case
and
again
we
as
counsel
as
much
as
we
appreciate
the
administration
generally
saying
that
Council
can
be
there.
C
The
law
requires
Council
to
hold
a
formal
meeting
in
in
order
for
us
to
speak,
otherwise
we
will
be
violating
the
law,
and
so
that
is
not
what
this
council
is
going
to
do
and
I
can
tell
you,
as
I
said
at
the
prior
meeting,
that
we
had
when
this
issue
had
come
up.
That
I
welcome
very
much
having
a
joint
session
with
the
mayor,
so
I'll
set
the
agenda.
It
will
include
the
fact
the
mayor
will
be
making
presentations
that
evening.
AQ
C
AU
Just
just
wanted
to
I
think
actually
councilwoman
Rizzoli.
Might
this
might
answer
her
question?
At
the
same
time
we
could
there.
The
mayor
has,
as
you
probably
heard,
May
assigned
a
compact,
the
compact
with
the
governor
for
his
learning
365
initiative
that
enabled
the
city
to
receive
a
fifty
thousand
dollar
Grant
focused
on
the
completion
of
encouraging
and
educating
young
people
for
the
completion
of
their
FAFSA
forms,
for,
for
you
know,
for
higher
education
and
also
for
driving
attendance
to
reach
out
reach
out
to
youth
agencies.
AU
Youth
programs,
in
so
doing
discretion
is
used,
so
that
is
supposed
to
be
rolled
out
by
September
of
2024..
I
just
want
to
advise
that
is
happening,
and,
secondly,
there
is
a
a
grant,
as
a
result
of
the
mayor
signing
on
to
to
this
program
for
the
city
to
receive
over
six
million
dollars,
if
so
desires,
to
purchase
renovate
add-on
of
a
city
facility
to
house
programming
for
health,
monitor,
bring
jobs,
and
why
am
I
missing
that
one
Health
monitoring,
jobs
and
council
president
education?
AU
Thank
you,
those
those
three
so
programs
need
to
be
developed.
This
is
a
result
of
Opera
being
administered
through
the
U.S
treasury
through
the
governor's
office,
and
they
will
be
the
public
input
for
sure,
more
likely
in
the
form
of
a
public
forum,
possibly
a
survey
to
solicit
input,
particularly
about
the
programming.
What
the
public
wants
in
this
in
this
I'll
say
in
this
facility,
but
for
a
program
for
the
benefit
of
the
community,
all
facets
of
the
community
regards
of
age.
AU
Demographics
Etc
need
to
have
the
sophistic
these
programs
available
to
them.
It
has
to
be
at
least
a
five-year
sustainable
program
to
qualify
and
if
there
is
a
facility
for
it
to
be
in
place
operating
with
a
facility
up
by
October
31st
2026,
with
programming
up
and
running
by
the
end
of
2026..
Those
are
basically
the
highlights.
So
we,
this
is
happening
very
quickly.
Last
week
was
maybe
probably
the
week
before
the
the
folks
from
the
state
came
in
I.
AU
Know,
council
president
attended
a
zoom
meeting,
I
believe
it
was
having
to
the
you
know.
The
governor's
office
was
explaining
this
initiative,
so
it's
a
great
opportunity
for
the
city
and
the
we
have
to
act
very
quickly,
because
the
deadline
for
submission
the
concept
not
not
a
very,
not
a
totally
detailed
but
more
of
an
executive
summary
relative
to
facilities
and
programming
need
to
be
submitted.
AU
I
believe
the
date
is
September
29th,
so
we're
kind
of
on
a
very
Rapid
schedule
to
get
that
done
then,
certainly
we'll
be
welcoming
input
regarding
facility
and
and
and
also
particularly
programming
from
the
public
also,
but
we
want
key
stakeholders
involve
the
council,
council
members,
the
school's
superintendent
school
committee
members
and
also
any
very
various
stakeholders
throughout
the
city.
So
I
just
wanted
to
make
sure
that's
introduced,
and
everyone
knows
what's
going
on
council
president
willing
to
add
anything
else
that
you
see
fit.
B
C
Next
up
is
under
Communications
I'm
amazed.
The
council
president
I'd
like
to
take
these
out
of
order.
The
status
of
the
Municipal
Court
Clerk
position
at
the
administration
can
advise
as
the
status
the
prior
meeting.
That
position
was
to
be
filled
so
I
just
like
to
have
a
status
on
that,
since
it's
a
sheered
council.
C
Hear
you
oh
since
it's
is
that
better
sorry,
since
it's
a
shared
position
being
appointed
by
the
city
council
as
the
Municipal
Court
Clerk,
but
it's
also
a
union
administrative
position
for
the
clerk
for
the
court.
Sorry.
AU
Yes,
the
there's
been
the
of
recruiting
process
posting
process
for
city
employees.
It's
a
a
number
of
internal
City
candidates
apply
for
the
position
recommendation
from
the
chief
judge
was
submitted
to
the
mayor.
The
mayor
certainly
wants
to
do
what
the
chief
judge
wants
and
has
selected
an
individual
that
person.
AU
The
plan
is
over
the
next
couple
of
weeks
to
transition
the
person
from
a
current
position
in
the
city
to
that
to
that
position,
and
hopefully
the
target
is
two
weeks,
but
that's
that
is
a
target,
could
change
somewhat,
but
it's
in
and
around
September
11th
in
and
around
that's
what
we
expect
the
person
to
be
there
just
just
about
full-time
after
transitioning.
C
Should
I
reach
out
directly
to
Director
favicchio
of
Human
Resources
as
to
the
as
to
who
the
person
is
and
when
the
start
date
time
is
so
that
the
council
can
then
move
forward
with
a
nomination
for
the
Municipal
Court
Clerk.
C
I,
don't
I,
don't
I'll
defer
to
a
legal
counsel.
I,
don't
think
it's
necessary
to
say
that
the
person
is
you
don't
need
to
so.
Z
B
C
All
right,
all
right
so
just
just
to
be
safe,
again,
I'm,
not
asking
for
a
specific
name
here
and
now.
My
request
was
that
I
reach
out
to
director
favicio
is
head
of
HR
as
to
who,
specifically
the
person
is
and
what
the
start
date
time
is,
so
that
we
could
coordinate
with
then
seeking
to
nominate
that
person
by
Council
as
the
Municipal
Court
Clerk.
AU
AU
C
AU
Is
a
bit
unique,
that
is
a
Teamster
position
and
therefore
the
city
needs
to
abide
by
the
teams
to
contract
in
the
contract.
It's
internal
City
posting.
First,
the
qualified
individuals.
If
they
are
qualified
individuals
passing
examination,
it
would
be
a
selection
from
those
the
mayor
has
the
opportunity
to
select
from
the
top
three.
The
recommendation
came
from
the
chief
judge
to
the
mayor
and
the
mayor
wishes
to
abide
by
the
chief
judge's
recommendation,
so
it
is
very
much
normal
process.
It
might
be
a
bit
different.
It
is
something
different
is.
C
AR
You
to
the
president
to
the
director
I'm
just
wondering:
will
we
get
a
resume
for
this
person?
Well,
we
know
who
we
are
essentially
nominating
ahead
of
time,
because
I
don't
like
to
vote
for
people
who
I
don't
know
who
they
are
I.
AU
Go
ahead,
what
I
was
going
to
say
is,
and
probably
refer
to.
The
attorneys
is
I
am
told
this
by
one
of
the
one
of
our
solicitors
that
the
council
doesn't
not
necessarily
have
to
appoint
that
individual.
The
clerk
of
the
court
can
be
any
of
the
judges.
Perhaps
they
might
be
others
too,
so
it
doesn't
mean
you're
limited
to
that
one
person.
That's
what
I've
been
told.
I,
certainly
defer
to
legal
on
that.
C
AQ
For
those
that
are
that
are
listening
or
watching
us
is,
the
reason
is
because
the
Municipal
Court
Clerk
has
pretty
much
separated
from
the
city
and
took
another
opportunity
elsewhere,
and
we
wish
her
the
best
in
her
new
career,
sorry
in
her
new
chapter
of
her
life,
but
that's
the
reason
why
we're
having
this
conversation,
it's
not
a
brand
new
position,
it's
at
the
employee
left
and
it's
left
at
vacant,
and
so,
if
there
is
a
union
position
that
moves
forward
and
takes
this
position,
it
may
leave
another
position
vacant
at
that
point.
AQ
C
C
I
know
that
I
myself
am
greatly
concerned
with
respect
to
the
status
of
the
pool,
given
the
change
in
circumstance
that
has
arisen
due
to
public
just
regular,
everyday
residents
requesting
records
from
the
city
that
has
revealed
as
discussed
this
evening,
information
that
was
not
previously
provided
to
this
Council,
both
under
councilman
pavlowskis,
beginning
back
in
2021
when
he
was
the
council
president
and
as
we
sit
here
currently
today,
and
this
Council
has
had
numerous
meetings
on
the
subject
of
the
bud.
C
Long
pool
inquiring
as
the
status
of
the
pool
specific,
with
respect
to
the
need
to
repair
the
pool
as
being
a
priority,
and
this
Council
was
told
that
that
was
not
a
viable
option
that
the
expenses
outweighed
the
appear.
We
were
told
information
with
respect
to
the
status
of
the
pool
with
respect
to
report
that,
given
what
has
been
revealed
to
us
tonight
from
the
public
is
not
it
wasn't
the
truth.
What
was
given
to
us
from
the
administration?
C
I
know
that
the
expectation
as
a
council,
member
and
I'm
sure
I'm
not
alone
in
this,
because
it's
a
reasonable
expectation
to
have
is
that
when
the
administration
comes
forth
to
the
council
to
have
a
dialogue
and
address
concerns
that
it's
an
honest
conversation
and
a
coming
prepared
and
what
we
have
now
heard.
Much
to
our
surprise,
is
that
wasn't
necessarily
the
case.
They
were
already
discussions
with
certain
engineers.
C
C
So,
for
that
reason
we
share
at
least
I
do
and
other
council
members
can
speak
to
it.
Sharing
the
concern
about
the
in
the
truth
as
to
what
the
state
is
of
that
pool
and
when
this,
when
the
administration
came
forth
and
said
they
had
Engineers
I
know
for
myself,
as
only
one
of
nine
as
everybody
else
here
had
a
reason
to
rely
on
the
information
provided
to
be
credible
and
had
no
reason
to
think.
C
So
the
mistake
that
I
made
and
perhaps
others
on
Council,
was
believing
in
The
credibility
presented
to
us
that
a
proper
inspection
was
done
and
that
nothing
could
be
done.
Unlike
what
we
were
presented
with
tonight,
which
is
that
ninety
thousand
dollars
potentially
and
it
could
have
been
up
and
running.
C
I,
don't
blame
the
public
for
being
outraged
because
I
know
I
sure,
as
heck
sharing
that
outrage
and
I
would
hope.
It's
a
lesson
going
forward
to
be
prepared
and
to
be
honest
with
this
Council
and
with
the
public
and
I
can
tell
you
that
I
will
be
exploring
whatever
options.
I
I
invite
all
council
members
to
pratigue
in
that
are
options
available
to
us
to
get
the
true
status
of
the
bud.
C
C
C
So
you
were
taking
the
option
of
not
answering
that
I'm
not
interrupting
you
I'm
speaking
now,
when
I'm
done,
you
will
have
the
opportunity
to
speak
so
I
asked
a
very
simple
question
other
than
the
socosio
group.
Has
there
ever
been
an
engineer
that
has
gone
under
this
Administration
to
the
pool
to
inspect
the
pool
in
any
way?
Yes
or
no?
Yes,
next
question:
when
was
it
I?
Don't
have.
AU
AU
C
C
They
have
presented
information
that
differs
than
what
your
Administration
and
you
specifically
presented
to
this
Council
I
have
every
right
to
ask
those
questions
dealing
with
the
status
of
the
pool.
If
you
choose
not
to
answer
those
questions,
that's
your
prerogative,
but
I
am
not
going
to
allow
you
to
bully
me
into
not
asking
factual,
significant
and
relevant
questions.
C
AU
Again,
it's
I'm,
not
I,
don't
have
complete
answers.
You
asked
the
status
of
the
pool.
I
I
would
have
to
take
the
stand
to
give
you
further
information
and
recollect.
C
AR
AU
AR
AU
I'll
tell
you,
though,
it's
something
how
the
information
was
just
prepared
by
the
public,
but
there's
already
conclusions
by
members
of
the
city
council.
What
they're
saying
versus
doing
diligence
to
do
proper
vetting
and
it's
two
sides
to
every
story.
Most
attorneys
would
know
that
so
I
just
want
to
mention
that
there
are
two
sides
to
every
story.
AU
So
please
stay
tuned
to
September
6th
happy
to
answer
every
single
question:
we'll
have
all
the
people
there
more
than
happy
more
than
happy
to
tell
you
the
truth,
which
is
we've
been
saying
all
along
and
I,
don't
like
the
connotation
of
mistrutes
coming
from
the
public,
which
is
acceptable,
it's
politics,
but
coming
from
this
console
to
already
draw
conclusions
at
this
time
without
even
reviewing
the
information
or
asking
challenging
questions
to
the
administration
in
our
drawing
conclusions.
That's
that's
very
biased.
AR
Thank
you,
this
I'm,
not
sure
who
this
question
is
to
exactly
but
I
recall
that
a
member
of
the
public
did
say
that
the
Apple
request
was
incomplete,
I
believe
they
didn't
receive
all
the
information
that
they
wanted.
So
I
want
to
say
that
I
would
like
that
information
too,
and
that
maybe
we
could
draw
a
better
conclusion
if
we
have
complete
information
from
the
original
Opera
request,
maybe
just
by
not
getting
a
full
picture,
perhaps
because
we
don't
have
all
the
information
just
a
possibility.
AR
AU
AR
People's
minds,
yeah
I,
don't
know
I've
never
heard
of
this
until
it
was
presented
to
me
tonight,
but
I
just
don't
want
to
draw
any
conclusion
based
on
information.
That's
not
complete
and
I.
Don't
know
that
any
of
us
really
should
I,
don't
know
what
information
is
going
to
come
from
to
complete
that
Apple
request
and
what
direction
it
will
lead
us
in,
but
either
way
it's
not
fair
to
really
draw
a
conclusion
based
on
just
what
we
have
in
front
of
us.
AR
If
it's
an
incomplete
story,
maybe
I'll
put
an
apple
request
on
my
own
I,
don't
know,
but
I'm
just
saying
that
I
understand
where
the
public
is
coming
from,
I
understand
what
caused
the
president's
saying
but
I
understand
what
the
administration
is
saying
too.
We
can't
really,
if
we're
doing
our
jobs
come
to
a
complete
conclusion
based
on
what
was
given
to
us
tonight.
When
the
public
says
they
didn't
even
get
everything
that
they
asked
for,
because
that's
not
that's
not
fair.
We
don't
have
all
the
information
and.
AU
AO
Thank
you
council
president
director
Moretti.
If
we
could,
through
either
yourself
or
the
solicitor's
office,
any
records
that
are
shared
pursuant
to
aforementioned
public
records
request,
if
all
documentation
related
to
that
could
please
be
shared
with
the
city
council.
That
would
be
appreciated.
So
I
I
would
like
to
formally
request
that
and
any
other
future
information
that
or
records
that
are
provided
pursuant
to
that
public
records
request.
AO
If
that
could
supplementarily
be
provided
to
us
as
well,
I'd
appreciate
that
and
and
hopefully
the
city
council
I'd
like
to
have
that
by
the
September
6
meeting.
If
it's
already
been
provided
to
the
public,
hopefully
that
can
easily
be
shared,
not
that
I
think
anything
Susan
or
Karen
has
shared
with
us
is
and
then
I
just
don't
want
you
to
think
I'm
suggesting
anything.
AO
AO
Overwhelming
doesn't
quite
accurately.
AO
AU
There's
been
reasons
first
of
all,
there's
been
reasons
articulated
the
primary
driver,
the
proof
being
the
engineers
report
and
also
speaking
with
them
it'll
be
more
expensive
to
repair
that
pool
that
is
going
to
have
a
shorter
life
than
a
new
pool
of
more
than
adequate
size.
With
more
than
adequate
diving
facility
abilities,
Lanes
everything
everyone
wants.
The
May
is
incorporating
everything
everyone
wants,
except
one
thing
not
to
repair
a
pool
that
is
not
practical
to
last
for
Generation
to
spend
a
similar
amount
in
more
money
to
repair
a
pool.
AU
It's
very
simple
that
won't
last
as
long
as
a
new
pool
that
you
don't
need
to
staff,
it
so
be
financially
irresponsible
and
it
wouldn't
last
the
life
of
a
new
pool
wouldn't
be
as
efficient
as
a
new
pool
to
cost
to
to
operate
to
staff
Etc.
If
the
May
is
looking
out
for
the
taxpayers
and
satisfying
every
request
by
the
by
the
public,
with
one
exception,
we
lose
the
historical
value
whatever
that
is
of
a
lodge
pool,
that's
obsolete.
That
is
way
over
capacity
way
too
costly
to
operate.
AU
That's
the
fundamental
answer,
but
there's
a
lot
more
to
be
said
to
that.
But
that's
that's
in
a
nutshell:
What
the
rationale
behind
that
behind
the
mayor's
feelings.
AO
AU
I
want
to
see
them
myself.
Well,
I
I
did
ask
the
question:
what
would
be
more
costly
or
less
costly?
The
answer
more
costly
to
repair
than
replace
with
with
new
pool
as
I
described,
I.
Don't
know
the
exact
number
we're
going
to
see.
I
I,
don't
know
it's
and
you're,
not
gonna
you're,
not
gonna
know
until
we
go
until
this
bit
until
the
job's
bid.
You
won't
know.
AO
What's
the
approximate
cost
of
the
mayor's
plan.
AU
AO
AO
AU
AQ
AQ
To
say,
but
before
I
say
it
I
remind
everybody.
Cranston
has
been
in
the
news
for
this
entire
summer
and
a
lot
of
negative
things.
This
conversation
taking
place
and
the
fact
on
the
disrespect
that
I'm
witnessing
right
now
adds
to
that
news
component
of
where
we
stand,
as
we
clearly
have
NBC
10
right
here
on
Zoom.
AQ
AQ
One
of
all,
these
conversations
any
information,
whether
it's
from
the
previous
administration,
if
you
do
have
that,
if
you
don't
start
with
the
current
Administration
that
you're
currently
working
for
under
Mayor
Hopkins
Administration
and
provide
that
timeline
of
events,
so
that
we
can
all
have
because
we
can,
we
can
create
it
on
our
own,
based
on
the
information
and
also
on
the
foyer
that
we
have
in
email
exchanges.
But
I.
AQ
If
I
could
request
that
time
of
event
for
that
meeting,
hopefully,
for
the
council
meeting
actually
on
September
6th
I.
Think
that
would
be
a
start
because,
as
I'm
going
through
the
document
that
was
provided
to
us
this
evening
on
the
foyer
request,
you
know
I
just
kind
of
started.
AQ
Doing
my
own
timeline
here
in
the
back
of
my
document
and
I
didn't
get
a
chance
to
really
read
all
of
that,
as
it
was
just
handed
to
us
other
than
you
know,
all
the
other
emails
that
we
all
as
a
council
members
have
been
receiving
from
our
constituents
here
in
the
city
of
Cranston
I.
Think
that
would
be
very
helpful
and
to
the
point
of
the
foia
request.
AQ
What
I
would
like
to
hear
from
the
administration
at
this
next
upcoming
meeting
that
we're
having
for,
in
with
the
subject
matter
of
the
Budlong
pool
as
to
what
is
the
timeline?
What
are
the
visuals?
What
is
the
mayor
presenting?
What
is
he
requesting
where's
the
community
input
on
all
of
this?
If
this
is
one
of
the
one
of
the
few
meetings?
Is
this
going
to
be
the
last
meeting?
Where
do
we
go
after
the
next
meeting?
AQ
AQ
We
want
the
pool,
I,
don't
think
we're.
None
of
us
are
in
disagreement
with
that
and
I
think
the
mayor
hopefully
wants
to
pull
too,
but
let's
make
sure
that
we
have
the
community
input
and
I
think
we
owe
it
to
our
constituencies.
We
owe
it
to
our
just
our
just
City
overall
on
where
we
are
and
what
is
a
timeline
and
what
are
the
next
steps,
so
we
can
have
that
conversation
and
we
could
actually
get
there
so
in
summer,
2024
there's
at
least
groundbreaking.
AQ
AL
Thank
you
Eminem.
As
you
know,
I
have
this
communication
on
the
docket
every
month
about
Badland
pool
when
I
started,
to
put
it
on
the
docket.
It's
when
I
realized,
we
have
been
misled.
AL
There
was
like
confusion,
misinformation,
but
I
wanted
to
get
the
bottom
of
it.
That's
why?
If
you
recall
I
invited
Mr,
Tony
liberatory
I
invited
the
representative
of
faj,
the
the
first
film
that
has
conducted
the
first
feasibility
study
to
ask
question,
but
I
was
prevented
the
the
solicitor
couldn't
let
Mr
Tony
the
liberatoid
speed
and
I
felt
there's
something
that
wasn't
either,
but
at
that
time
I
felt
like
because
of
the
power
of
misinformation
it
was
like.
I
was
the
person
that
was
being
difficult
and
I
was
single
out
by
the
administration.
AL
I
was
called
the
the
Mayor
Hopkins
put
out
press
release
to
single
me
out.
He
calls
me
an
impediment
to
his
administration,
but
that
didn't
stop
me
to
continue
to
put
this
art
in
the
docket,
because
I
want
to
see
the
truth.
I
want
to
see
transparency,
so
so
many
things
that
doesn't
add
up,
but
one
thing
I
know
my
constituent,
all
the
Constitution.
What
what
to
all
people
in
the
Queens
in
Cranston
what
to
keep
the
current
size
of
the
Badland
pool?
AL
So
if
we
were
to
rebuild,
we
want
to
new
pool,
he
has
to
be
the
current
size
of
the
pool.
We
have
right
now,
ninth
feet
deep.
This
is
a
pool
for
a
diverse
community,
any
age,
any
level
whether
you
are
a
beginner,
where
you
are
a
medium
media.
You
are
a
professional
there's,
something
for
everybody
and
that's
why
we
want
to
preserve.
AL
We
want
to
preserve
that
and
that's
why
I
never,
even
though
I
was
at
a
time,
I
fell
down
at
time.
I
was
people
calling
me
how
how
you
doing
because
at
time
I
was
crying
I
even
have
the
mayor
harass
me
with
text
message
calling
me
Liars,
but
when
I
sit
down
with
my
people,
my
constituent,
we
are
getting
to
find
the
truth.
I
know
the
truth.
I
knew
the
truth
and
that's
why
I
kept
going
so
today
is
a
good
day.
This
today
is
a
good
day.
AL
The
People
Come
Those
are
work
of
weeks
months.
To
get
this,
those
are
not
fabricating.
Those
are
communication
that
was
doing
doing
people
in
the
administration.
Keep
it
low,
don't
say
it
out
loud
when
I
request
every
month,
when
I
request,
update
I
felt
insulted
because
I
wasn't
taken
seriously
because
they
lying
to
me.
They
give
me
misinformation
for
all
of
us,
because
my
voice
didn't
matter
but
I
I
never
give
up,
because
I
thought
all
of
us.
AL
AL
We
allocate
four
million
dollars
facilities.
If
you
want
to
do
a
new
poll
he
has
to
be,
he
has
to
be
the
same
size
period.
This
is
not
an
individual
project
for
Mayor
Hopkins.
It's
the
people's
project,
it's
our
project!
If
our
asset
and
I
know
I
I'm,
not
mad,
I
was
mad.
I
was
so
upset.
I
spent
weeks
so
down
when
I
felt,
I
was
so
being
disrespected,
but
I
never
give
up
and
I
know.
The
truth
will
prevail.
We're
gonna
get
at
the
bottom
of
it.
AL
So
I'm
waiting
for
the
report
I'm
waiting
to
know
how
much
it
costs
it
will
cost
for
repairing
the
pool
versus
the
cost
to
build
a
small
apple.
I
would
like
to
see
this
data.
We
don't
have
it.
I
would
like
to
know
how
someone
can
assess
the
pool
without
joining
the
pool.
I
would
like
to
know
how
you
tell
me
the
pool
is
leaking
and
ground
while
they're
coming
at
the
same
time.
AL
I'm
not
an
expect
I
want
to
ex
and
expect
explain
me
this
particular
phenomenon,
so
you
have
a
pool
that
is
leaking
and
at
the
same
time
you
have
a
whole
cartoon
water
inside
I.
Don't
know
how
it
works.
So
I
would
like
to
know
that
those
are
things
facts
I
would
like
to
see
how
we
can
explain.
Okay,
it's
one
study
says
40
to
60
gallon
water
per
minute,
so
I
know
I
never
come
to
do
the
math
I
have
the
math
and
I
keep
keep
quiet
I'm.
AL
Looking
now
someone
says:
oh,
it's
20
or
250.
and
I
know.
All
of
those
report
are
not
credible.
There
are
so
many
flaws.
It's
like
you
hire
someone.
You
pay
someone
to
tell
you.
This
is
what
I
want
to
do.
This
is
what
you
had
to
tell
me.
That's
how
things
work
you
want
to
study.
You
already
have
your
result,
but
you
have
someone
to
tell
you.
This
is
what
I
want
you
to
tell
me.
We
spend
thirty
thousand
dollars
for
a
first
study.
Now
now
we
pay
I
know
there
were
requests
for
350
000.
AL
for
another
study,
but
the
first
study,
probably
the
person,
didn't
understand
the
the
the
direction.
Well,
they
give
make
a
mistake,
probably
give
an
option.
The
option
says
the
pool
can
be
repaired
and
and
ADA
Compliant.
Without
bending
it
is
written
white
and
black.
We
are
not
false,
so
I,
don't
know.
What
is
the
agenda
is
and
that's
why
we
need
to
get.
Thank
you
Clinton
residents
to
come
tonight.
We
we
spent
hours
I,
know
they
spent
hours
night
to
to
get
to
on
the
bottom.
Go
back!
AL
AL
Who
has
the
power
to
go
to
the
YouTube
video
meetings,
to
call
it
off
some
of
the
things
that
have
been
said
in
our
videos
when
we
have
the
meeting
have
been
missing
so
we're
gonna
get
at
the
bottom
of
it.
So
I
know
this
is
here
for
Council,
I,
council
member
communication
and
thank
you,
president
Marino.
AL
You
put
it
for
communication
for
on
your
Council
personal
communication,
and
this
is
going
to
continue
as
I
mentioned.
I
promise
that,
to
my
people,
I
promise
that
to
do
concern
with
you
that
I
will
not
give
up.
I
will
keep
pushing
because
the
truth
must
prevail.
AL
C
AL
You
and,
and
and
I'm
so
happy
I'm,
so
happy
that
we
have
I
know
the
resolution
we
want
that
we
have
a
resolution,
is
not
gonna,
be
heard
tonight.
Thank
you,
Council
done
again
and
all
co-sponsors
for
the
resolution.
We
asked
to
have
a
pause
on
that,
because
one
thing
I
want
to
add
now
I
met
with
me,
Hopkins
good
intention
in
the
administration,
and
we
talk
and
she
he
sent
me
a
picture.
I
said
that's
good
good.
AL
The
thing
is:
I
was
I
I'm,
always
to
behave
to
give
people
time
to
discuss
things.
I
cannot
be
angry
with
you
without
having
facts.
I
cannot
be
starting
to
be
in
a
position
with
you
without
having
all
the
facts
or
anything
enhanced
when
I
keep
asking
the
administration
to
give
me
facts
to
give
me
what
what
is
the
number.
What
do
we
have
where
we
are
and
that's
when
I
realized
that
I've
been
played,
and
one
thing
that's,
why
me
Hopkins
keep
harassing
me
with
text.
He
said:
I
was
on
board.
AL
I
was
on
board
on
what,
because
I
never
has
the
whole
document.
What
we
have
how
we
explain.
It's
always
something
that
is
covered
up
and
something
behind,
and
now
we
have
a
resolution
to
ask
and
we
pass
a
resolution,
nine
of
us
on
the
council,
president
papowskus,
we
pass
a
resolution
to
say
to
fix,
we
know
of
it.
We
store
Badland
pool.
AL
We
all
nine
councils
sign
co-sponsor
this,
and
now
we
have
one
again
to
say
no
stop,
because
some
of
us
I
will
say
some
of
us
were
a
little
bit
on
board
with
yes,
because
we
were
misled,
and
tonight
everyone
is
not
about
political.
He
said.
Police
is
not
about
political.
He
said
about
respect
whether
you
are
Republican
or
a
Democrat.
AL
We
all
need
we
to
be
respected,
because
when
we
say
yes
to
our
constituent,
we
have
to
keep
our
word
when
we
say
no,
when
we
vote
for
something
we
have
to
explain
it,
but
misleading
and
and
conceal
information
to
us,
but
I
knew
that's
why
I
kept
going
I
kept
going,
we
will
continue.
Resolution
will
be
third
on
September,
11
and
I
I
invite
all
our
people
to
continue
to
come,
because
we
need
to
get
the
truth
and
I
believe,
but
long
pool
can
be
fixed.
We
can
have
the
money
ADA
Compliant.
AL
AR
Thank
you,
madam
president,
my
apologies
for
not
asking
all
my
questions
and
one
turn,
but
I
would
also
ask
from
the
administration
when
we
get
this,
this
chronological
timeline
and
the
cost,
if
there
can
be
cost
estimates
to
operating
the
pool
as
in
the
new,
smaller
but
I
think
still
significant
sized
pool.
If
that
obviously
is
going
to
be
estimates,
we
have
to
know
how
many
people
are
going
to
staff
it.
How
what's
going
to
cost
going
forward
chemicals
Etc.
AR
They
have
a
form
because
we
operated
the
pool
before
and
how
much
it
would
be
going
forward.
Keeping
the
footprint
of
the
pool
currently
and
just
repairing
it
I
just
want
to
know.
If
you
know
one
might
be
less
expensive
than
the
other
now,
but
going
forward
every
single
year.
We
don't
have
this
Opera
money
to
operate.
AR
The
pool
so
I
think
it's
important
to
know
for
our
budgets
going
forward
how
much
it's
going
to
cost
every
year
to
operate
all
the
options
that
we're
going
to
get,
including
if
we're
going
to
get
a
splash
pad,
because
it's
going
to
cost
something.
So
we
have
to
know
and
I,
don't
know
which
one
is
going
to
cost
more,
but
I
want
to
know.
AR
I
would
also
like
to
see
if
and
I
might
have
to
put
in
an
apple
request
for
this-
the
records
from
the
past
from
the
past
administration,
because
this
pool
has
not
been
opened
under
this
Administration,
how
many
people
were
going
and
the
records
for
maintenance
and
what
there's
something
missing
here
and
I.
Don't
know
what
it
is
exactly,
but
we
have
two
parks
and
rec
directors
that
came
forward
today
and
I
would
say
they're
both
experts
in
their
own
rights
on
this
pool
and
they're,
saying
different
things.
AR
So
I'm
not
going
to
call
anyone
a
liar
at
this
point
in
time,
because
that
wouldn't
be
fair
to
do.
But
we
have
two
experts.
Essentially
it's
gonna
be
more
epoxy
and
Rex
directors
out
here.
This
work
for
the
city
of
Cranston.
Maybe
they
can
come
forward
too,
and
we
could
have
a
little
panel.
I,
don't
know,
but
there's
there's
something
missing
here
and
I
can
see
both
sides.
AR
I
can
see
why
people
want
to
keep
the
pool
as
it
is
and
I
can
see
for
the
same
reason,
why
we're
not
repairing
Gladstone
School
we're
building
a
21st
century
school
because
new
stuff
lasts
longer
and
there's
new
ways
of
doing
stuff
and
there's
Energy
Efficiency,
and
there
are
other
options
we
can
agree
to
disagree,
but
we
got
to
get
a
pool
and,
like
vice
president
Varga
said
everybody
wants
a
pool
and
just
so
we're
clear,
pretty
sure
the
mayor
wants
a
pool
too.
AR
It's
not
the
same
exact
pool
some
other
people
want,
but
he
wants
a
pool
and
if
we
keep
slowing
this
down,
we're
going
to
have
no
pool
I,
don't
I,
don't
know
who
the
next
mayor
is
going
to
be
I,
don't
know.
If
we're
gonna
have
a
pool,
then
either
we
just
might
have
nothing.
They
might
pull
that
in
with
concrete
some
might
buy
it
develop
it
into
something
else.
So
we
have
to
stop
going
around
in
circles.
I
do
know
that
we
do
want
the
truth.
We
want
these
records.
AR
I
want
more
records
because
there's
more
to
this
story.
Obviously,
but
I
don't
think,
it's
fear
that
we
start
throwing
around
the
word
liar
right
now,
just
based
upon
what
we've
read
tonight,
but
we
do
need
the
information,
so
I
would
like
to
formally
request
estimates
going
forward
of
what
it
will
cost
to
maintain
either
option.
AR
AV
Thank
you,
council
president.
There's
a
lot
of
emotions
here
tonight.
It's
I
did
prepare
some
things,
but
then
I
want
to
address
a
couple
things
that
I
heard
first
of
all
with
the
groundwater.
Obviously
take
a
logical
look
at
this.
If
you
drive
by
the
Bumble
pool
which
I've
done
many
times,
and
you
look
at
the
water
in
it,
it's
level
with
the
pond
across
the
street
and
the
stream
on
the
side.
AV
Another
thing
that
I
heard
in
Chambers
the
Buckland
Street
I,
went
by
that
pool
and
that
splash
pad
and
I
know
somebody
works
right
up
the
street
and
they
go
buy
it
every
day
and
I
asked
them.
I
said:
can
you
can
you
send
me
pictures?
Can
you
let
me
know?
What's
going
on
how
many
people
are
in
it
and
what's
going
on
and
he
did
and
he
said
he
would
see
at
least
twice
the
amount
of
people
in
that
Splash
Pad
than
he
did
in
the
pool.
AV
So
I
think
that
is
a
current
Trend.
That's
that's
happening
and
also
something
I
heard
tonight
was
about
families
and
I
did
talk
to
a
few
families
and
with
younger
kids,
and
they
said
they
went
crazy
about
going
to
a
a
pool
that
was
lodged
and
and
they
they
felt
more
comfortable
with
the
with
the
plan
that
that
the
mayor
put
forward
now,
I
can
switch
to
what
I
wrote
earlier.
AV
Oh
I
feel
this
whole
movement
about
the
pool
is,
is
being
driven
by
emotion
and
not
about
by
Logic
and
when
you
make
decisions
on
emotion,
they're,
not
always
good
ones,
they're.
Typically,
not
we
need
to
be
more
Progressive
in
our
thinking
and,
like
we
heard
earlier,
other
cities
are
moving
towards
these
other
programs.
AV
I
talked
to,
let's
see
if
I
can
find
it.
Yeah
I
talked
to
other
cities
of
parks
and
recs
and
discuss
the
size
of
their
pool,
and
they
both
in
Massachusetts
and
in
Rhode
Island,
and
none
of
them
have
a
pool
this
size
and
it's
adequate
for
what
they
have
in
their
city.
AV
I
also
talked
to
about
upkeeping
and
I
talked
to
a
former,
a
former
life
God
that
was
at
the
bloodborne
pool
I,
think
it
was
2008
until
2013
and
he
was
in
charge
of
25
other
life
Gods.
He
says
that
one
given
time
they
needed
eight
people
in
the
chairs
and
two
roving,
like
Gods.
He
had
25
lifeguards
under
his
control
and
in
today's
market.
AV
That's
a
pretty
big
task
to
have
25
life
Gods
on
on
duty,
I
heard
just
today
that
part
of
Scarborough
and
and
some
beaches
and
Narragansett
didn't
have
lifeguards
and
it
was
roped
off
and
you're
at
your
own
risk.
So
I
would
hate
to
see
the
the
pool
shut
down,
because
it
requires
that
much
Staffing,
especially
when
the
state
of
Rhode
Island's,
giving
out
500
bonuses
to
become
a
life
God.
That's
something
that's
pretty
tough
to
to
compete
with
what
else
do
I
have
here?
AV
I
also
heard
that
you
know
in
the
in
these
chambers
that
we
need
to
be
creative
with
with
life
gods.
Well,
the
the
term
that
the
name
of
the
position
is
life
God.
We
can't
be
creative
with
that.
We
need
qualified
people
and
so
that
that
is
a
concern
of
mine,
I
hate
to
see
it
closed.
AV
If,
if
we
were
short
staffed-
and
he
also
said
there
was
occasional
fights
at
the
at
the
at
the
pool,
because
people
came
in
from
other
cities
and
and
I
think
they
came
in
from
other
cities,
because
it
it
being
a
larger
pool
and
we'd
have
the
only
one
like
that
around
with
kind
of
an
invitation
for,
but
people
coming
from
all
over,
not
just
Cranston
residents.
AV
So
I
I,
don't
like
the
idea
I,
like
the
family-friendly
idea
of
the
pool,
and
the
other
thing
is
I.
Think
if
we
did
downsize
it
it's
it
would
be
the
capacity
to
find,
because
in
Providence
there's
more
pools
now
in
other
cities,
there's
more
pools
so
there's
more
places
for
these
people
to
go
in.
You
know
this
would
be
more
for
the
creation
residence,
so
I
think
we
need
to
follow
the
current
trends
of
the
other
cities
and
make
the
right
decision
for
the
city
of
Cranston.
Thank
you.
AQ
Vargas
here
I'm,
so
sorry,
council,
president,
but
I,
really
felt
the
need
to
say
this
and
I
could
be
confusing
this
specific
one
board
or
not,
but
just
something
as
an
FYI.
The
city
council
has
an
architect
and
Engineering
Board,
of
which
there
are
two
vacant
positions,
one
for
the
majority
party,
one
for
the
minority
party,
just
food
for
down
the
line.
AQ
C
You
broken
record
yet
again:
I'm
nauseated
as
I
think
everybody
in
this
room
that
we
are
still
here
without
a
pool
that
we
are
discussing
it
again.
The
public
doesn't
want
to
come
here.
The
public
doesn't
want
to
do
public
records
requests
for
the
information.
C
It's
very
simple,
I
said
it
in
a
previous
meeting
like
about
a
month
ago
and
I'm
going
to
say
it
again.
This
is
not
rocket
science.
We
are
not
Reinventing
the
wheel.
The
council
has
appropriated
money
through
arpa
up
to
four
million
dollars
to
get
the
pool
up
and
running
as
soon
as
possible
and
for
as
least
cost
to
the
city
as
possible,
the
Notions
with
respect
to
the
expenses
we
have
done
this
before
as
a
city.
This
is
not
anything
new,
so
we
shall.
C
We
should
have
no
problem
continuing
to
be
able
to
do
it
going
forward
in
terms
of
the
shortage
of
lifeguards.
It
doesn't
mean
that
we
do
not
have
a
pool
in
this
city.
Warwick
has
public
pools
for
their
residents,
Providence
has
public
pools
for
their
residents
and
we
used
to
too,
and
there
is
no
reason
why
we
can't-
and
we
have
done
everything
as
council
members
to
make
sure
that
happens.
We
do
not
control
the
day-to-day
functions
of
this
Administration.
C
We
rely
on
them
when
they
come
before
us
that
they
are
telling
us
and
giving
us
accurate
information
so
when
they
represented
to
us
as
a
council
that
the
cost
to
repair
was
going
to
be
more
than
it
would
to
to
replace,
we
believed
them
and
we
had
every
right
to
believe
them,
and
yet
we
get
something
tonight
that
gives
us
additional
information
right
off
the
bat.
A
ninety
thousand
dollar
estimate
prepared
in
June
of
21
that
was
never
presented
to
this
Council,
despite
it
being
on
numerous
agenda
items
and
discussed
before
this
Council.
C
No
one
ever
told
us
that
the
administration
received
a
repair
estimate
for
ninety
thousand
dollars
to
get
the
pool
up
and
running,
and
let
me
be
clear
whether
or
not
this
is
accurate
or
inaccurate.
I
can't
sit
here
and
say
because,
let's
be
clear,
we
were
never
once
told
about
it.
Never
once
despite
discussing
it
time
and
time
again,
it's
not
impossible
to
get
a
lifeguard
other
cities
and
towns
do
it.
We
can
do
it
too
firefighter
whatever
it
just
needs
to
happen,
and
we
shouldn't
have
to
as
Council
people
say
the
administration.
C
AP
AP
Be
short,
I
I
d
we
miss
if
I
didn't
thank
the
people
that
worked
on
this,
because
I
know
they
spent
dozens
and
dozens
and
dozens
of
hours
and
made
many
many
phone
calls
and
followed
everything
up
and
put
a
report
together.
That
kind
of
shamed
me
I
feel
that
we've
let
the
people
down,
because
we
couldn't
get
to
the
bottom
of
this.
AP
We
sat
here
every
month,
hoping
that
we
were
going
to
get
the
truth
and
we
were
going
to
get
the
facts
and
we're
going
to
get
what
we
wanted
and
we
never
got
it
and
it
took
the
people
and
I've
thanked
them
more
than
once.
I,
don't
feel
alone
anymore,
that
they
did
this
on
their
own.
We
didn't
make
them
do
it.
We
didn't
force
them
to
do
it.
They
found
out
that
we've
been
misled,
lied
to,
and
information
was
held
from
us
for
two
years
and
I.
AP
C
AR
Thank
you.
The
the
questions
that
I
had
were
previously
answered
already
by
the
director
I'm
excited
to
hear
more
about
what
we
plan
to
do
with
the
funding
the
50
000
that
we've
already
been
awarded
from
the
state
and
what
we
may
be
able
to
do
going
forward
with
the
possible
6.1
million
dollars.
That's
a
that's
a
good
chunk
of
money
that
we
could
be
helping
supplement
the
educational
programs
for
the
kids
in
the
city.
Thank
you
and
I'd
like
to
keep
this
on
as
a
council
person
communication
going
forward
for
myself.
AR
AO
Thank
you,
council
president,
so
I
had
requested
for
this
to
be
put
on
here
before
I
had
a
brief
conversation
with
the
with
director
Moretti
I
think
last
week,
but
just
since
we're
here
for
the
rest
of
the
council
La
two
weeks
ago,
I
had
the
opportunity
to
meet
with
two
representatives
from
Providence
water
who
asked
me
to
meet
with
them
to
discuss
a
really
exciting
project.
AO
That's
going
to
be
coming
to
Cranston,
and
that
is
they
are
going
to
be
leveraging
funds
from
the
bipartisan
infrastructure
bill,
as
well
as
grants
provided
by
our
federal
delegation,
free
lead
service
line,
Replacements
in
the
Arlington
Gladstone,
or
to
certain
properties
in
the
Arlington
and
Gladstone
neighborhoods
they're
ident
they've
identified
about
300
properties.
This
will
be
free,
there's
no
strings
attached,
there's
no
catch,
it's
free!
AO
The
planning
for
that
I
think
is
forthcoming.
I,
don't
know
if,
if
director
meridi
has
any
update
on
that,
but
I
would
just
say
to
to
Residents
as
as
this
starts
to
roll
out
residents
in
that
air
in
those
neighborhoods,
you
know
be
on
the
lookout
for
information.
Regarding
this
and
again
it
it
will
be
free
and
certainly
Providence.
Water,
myself,
the
council
and
the
administration
I
know
are
all
going
to
partner
to
work
together
to
to
get
this
information
disseminated
to
everyone
to
make
sure
that
people
have
clean
water.
AU
Well
said,
there
is
no
updated
information
but,
as
you
alluded
to
there'll,
be
a
schedule
of
public
meeting
or
meetings
for
the
residents
of
the
neighborhood
and
once
we
find
out
with
Providence
water
will
get
cleared
with.
That,
certainly
will
work
together,
councilman.
C
Council
vice
president
Vargas.
Thank
you.
AQ
Thank
you,
council
president
John
council
member
done
again.
I'm
sorry
can
we
can
we
make
sure
that
that
communication,
if
at
all
possible
the
other
than
English,
that
it's
in
Spanish
being
the
second
spoken
language
here
in
the
city
from
the
U.S
census?
Can
we
have
that
in
Spanish
as
well.
AO
Council
vice
president,
absolutely
so
the
when
I
they
had
already
been
planning
on
doing
English
and
Spanish,
and
and
given
the
area
that
they're
going
to
be
working
on
first,
because
they're
I
understand
there
could
potentially
be
other
phases.
They
are
also
going
to
send
it
out.
I
suggested
also
sending
it
in
Kimmer
that
way
it's
available
in
that
language
as
well
great.
Thank
you.
AL
I
think
Council
Dominican
mentioned
a
little
bit.
What
I
was
about
to
ask
if
it's
gonna
be,
is
a
pilot
program,
that's
going
to
be
conducted
in
World
3
and
if
also
it's
gonna
be
for
or
like
for
the
award.
What
do
what
we
I
know
that
have.
AO
I
I
can
only
answer
based
on
the
conversation
I
had
with
Providence
water,
and
certainly
director
Marty
has
other
they.
My
understanding
is
they
work
to
identify
the
area
with
the
highest
need
at
the
onset
and,
and
they
identified
this
being
a
geographic
area
that
met
certain
socioeconomic
and
identifying
lead
risk
hazards
that
you
know
made
this
to
be
the
place
that
they
would
begin.
AU
Concur,
this
is
the
only
thing
certain
areas
shooting
streets
in
Ward,
three,
particularly
in
the
Laurel
Hill
area,
is
what
they've
identified
they
haven't
identified
beyond
that,
so
we're
kind
of
they
had
their
analysts
who
work
with
the
government
and
the
funding
that
they
determine.
That's
not
one
of
those
things.
The
city
has
had
any
input
per
se,
but
certainly
happy
to
facilitate,
but
I'm,
not
aware
of
any
other
areas
that
they're
looking
to
get
into
at
this
time.
C
And
just
to
be
clear,
councilman
Downing
and
basically
the
Providence
water
made
the
determinations.
The
areas
of
need
on
objective
criteria
is
that
fair,
next
up,
Council
vice
president
Vargas.
AQ
AL
Thank
you,
council
president,
the
First
Communication
it's
it's
con
about,
but
don't
put
we
just
talk
about
it,
so
I
think.
As
I
mentioned
earlier,
we
we
will
wait
for
next
meeting.
We
have,
as
you
mentioned
earlier,
there's
going
to
be
a
meeting
on
September
6th.
AL
So
we
can
continue
this
discussion
and
also
please
continue
Madame
Claire
to
put
it
for
communication
on
the
next
month.
September
as
well,
so
I
would
not
stay
because
I
already
spoke
about
it.
AL
So
this
is
an
issue
that,
since
2020
I
first
got
elected
I
have
been
receiving
complaints
over
complaints
about
street
that
has
not
been
paved
in
this
certain
part
of
Park
have
precisely
and
I
have
the
reasoning
that
has
told
me:
they've
been
there
for
35
years
their
street
in
that
area
that
has
not
been
paved
for
35
years
and
the
condition
is
dealing
in
in
the
residents
have
been
emailing
the
administration
email
all
of
us
about
when
I
have
a
particular
reasoning
that
is
really
mad
at
me.
AL
Actually
Council
Ferry
as
well.
You
know
we
have
a
mutual
president
and
he
since
2020
he's
been
saying
the
same
thing
and
I.
Remember:
I
I
submit
a
list
of
Street
because
I
visited
those
streets.
I
walked
those
streets
2022
again
and
they
are
in
degree,
situation
deal
in
Need
for
Paving,
but
nothing
has
been
done
for
that
particular
area.
AL
So
I
want
to
make
it
clear.
I,
don't
say
there
has
not
been
work
that
has
been
done
in
this
city
this
so,
but
there
are
places
where
there
have
been
neglected
over
35
years
and
that's
why
I
would
like
to
have
an
explanation
why
those
streets
need
to
be
paved
why
they
have
not
never
been
in
the
list.
Even
though
I
submit
the
list
I
submitted
the
list,
so
I
would
like
to
have
some
explanation:
I
can
explain
to
the
resident.
This
is
why
the
their
street
have
not
been
paved.
AU
I
think
we
all
can
agree
with.
Everybody
wants
everyone's
Street
to
be
paved
and
that's
what
we
hear
day
in
and
day
out
in
terms
of
requests.
There
is
a
rating
system,
as
you
are
aware,
that's
made
public
that
rates
the
streets
in
terms
of
their
severity
of
disrepair
and
that's
available,
particularly
the
streets
in
Ward,
2,
south
of
Park
Avenue,
rated
kind
of
higher
in
the
good
way
than
many
streets
in
the
city.
A
couple
of
things
to
point
out.
AU
Over
the
last
three
years,
Ward
2
has
been
favored
in
terms
of
had
the
most
amount
of
I
know.
You
don't
believe
this
at
the
given
the
expression
on
your
face
councilwoman,
but
statistics
show
that
for
the
last
three
years,
27
of
the
streets
that
pay
for
the
city
was
done
and
what
were
done
in
ward
2.,
followed
by
18
of
the
streets
in
Ward,
5
and
16
in
woods
one.
AU
So
it's
very
disproportionate
that,
with
the
work
that's
been
done
in
Ward
2,
not
to
say
that
every
street
shouldn't
be
done
not
to
say
those
neighbors
are
wrong,
but
do
you
say
27
the
last
three
years,
27
in
ward,
2.,
18
of
the
streets
paved
and
what
were
in
Ward
five.
AU
Given
the
recent
you
know,
the
recent
the
redistricting
Ward
one
followed
by
Ward
one
was
16
what
six
in
that
four
in
three
at
the
14
14
and
12.,
one
thing
good
about
some
of
the
work
being
done:
ward,
3
more
attention
will
be
given
to
Ward
three
combination,
it's
a
very
good
actually
with
problems
water,
but
we,
the
cbdg,
is
a
mocking
funds
for
the
low
mod
districts
and
which,
which
would
affect
Ward
three,
possibly
a
little.
AU
What
five
possibly
a
little
one
two,
but
certainly
Ward
three,
would
be
a
highly
likely
candidate.
So
those
are
just
facts.
It's
not
an
opinion.
Just
want
to
share
that
with
you.
AL
The
let
me
tell
you
something,
I
understand
what
you
said
for
the
past
three
years,
but
remember
that
with
the
linguistic
thing,
so
some
of
those
area
have
not
been
inward
too.
So,
even
though
they've
been
paved
in
the
past,
there
was
a
part
of
world
2.,
so
the
core,
where
I
am
asking
where
I
have
been
receiving
all
those
complaints
35
years,
that's
why
they
say
it's
not
one
person
saying
that
so
I
understand
based
on
your
analysis
or
research.
AL
You
found
27
in
the
last.
You
know
three
years,
but
do
you
remember
when
we
have
the
reducing
things
so
I
have
it's
last
year
so
last
year
we
have
some
of
the
part
that
were
for
a
word
Twee
world
one
that
now
would
do
so.
What
I'm
saying
is
not
this
has
not
been
worked
on
inward
to,
but
where
did
we
need
it?
The
most
it's
been
neglected.
That's
a
fact.
Okay,.
AA
AU
AU
That's
an
opinion,
statistically,
you
can
look
at
the
facts
by
being
what
was
paid
in
the
ratings
per
the
the
the
consulting
company,
the
engineering
firm
that
that
came
up
with
the
the
assessment.
Now,
if
lists
the
engineering
firm,
is
wrong
and
very
well,
maybe
they
are,
but
that's
the
data
that
we
have
to
go
on.
So
that's
the
data
that
we
have
to
make
informed
decisions,
whether
that
be
incorrect
data.
We
wouldn't
hope.
So
we
hopefully
it'd
be
an
objective
data
from
reputable
engineering
firms.
AL
What
I'm
saying
Delta
Modi
is
I,
don't
discuss
whether
the
27
is
correct
or
not
correct.
That's
not
what
I'm
saying
what
I'm
saying
is
since
2020
I
have
resident
in
area
like
Gardens,
Garden,
Street,
Grace,
Richard,
Clarence,
Magnolia,
whooping
Greenwood,
all
of
those
Street
utter
right
in
the
South
part,
Park
Avenue,
okay,
we
shot
Street
all
their
way
down
and
they've
been
telling
me
their
street
have
not
been
paid
for
35
years.
AL
AU
Be
happy
to
take
that
list
and
take
another
look
at
it
relative
to
the
ratings
and
how
they
stand
with
all
the
streets.
Happy
to
give
that
another
look
for
those
residents.
AU
C
Excuse
me
councilman
Germaine,
before
we
continue
forward
just
for
a
matter
of
procedure.
According
to
our
rules,
it's
11
o'clock
or.
AJ
Z
C
D
C
Now
councilwoman
Jermaine,
unless
a
council
vice
president
Vargas,
had
something
relative
to
what
you
would
just
stated
go
ahead.
AQ
Thank
you,
I
know.
The
administration
director
you
had
provided
us
with
the
street
Paving
list
is
that
street
Paving
list
of
streets
that
are
to
be
paid
well,
sorry
that
were
paved
in
2022-2023
today.
AU
Yes
date
and
it's
a
work
in
process
there,
there
could
be
more
streets
paved
for
the
remainder
of
23,
it's
being
assessed
now.
Looking
at
funding
looking
at
a
lot
of
times,
we'll
Identify
some
streets,
but
the
utility,
we
have
to
work
utility
companies
to
look
ahead.
What
are
they
going
to
be
doing
work?
We
don't
want
to
reap
it.
We
want
to
avoid
as
much
as
possible
Paving
streets
that
are
going
to
be
dug
up
in
the
near
future.
So
it's
there
are
no
decisions.
AU
There
probably
will
be
another
six,
seven
hundred
thousand
dollars
back,
which
is
probably
a
cluster
of
streets.
We
just
for
economies
of
scale.
We
do
not,
unless
under
extraordinary
circumstances,
bounce
the
pavers,
the
paving
people
all
around
the
city,
doing
one
street
or
two
streets
here
and
there
it's
extremely
inefficient,
extremely
expensive
as
a
result
doing
it.
So
they
would
do
clusters
of
streets
unable
we
tend
to
do
neighborhoods
or
several
streets
in
a
neighborhood.
AQ
Thank
you,
I'm
asking
because
I
know
there
was
a
few
streets
that
I
think
like
Council
woman,
Jermaine,
submitted
I
believe
I
submitted
it
based
on
just
constituents
that
we're
reaching
out.
There
was
no
specifics
that
I
just
picked
randomly.
You
know
I
want
this
reader
that
it
was
really
based
on
the
concern
of
constituents
bringing
it
to
my
attention.
AQ
I
didn't
know
if
you
had
a
list
of
what
was
going
to
be
paved
between
now
and
whatever
we
have
left
in
terms
of
Paving,
given
the
fact
that
I
know
Winter's
around
the
corner
and
if
not
providing
that
score
sheet
in
terms
of
the
streets
throughout
the
city,
I
believe
one
of
the
former
former
directors
Mason
provided
us
at
one
point:
a
list
that
had
I
believe
a
score
number
and
we
were
told
that
for
each
year
that
goes
by
a
street
is
deducted
10
points
from
each
Street.
AQ
And
so
I
I
don't
know
if
that
could
be
shared
or
if
that
was
I,
don't
my
memory
is
failing
me
right
now.
That
was
part
of
the
list.
That
I
think
one
of
the
ordinance
that
council
member
Marino
had
also
sponsor
in
terms
of
the
street
Paving
list
being
published.
I
could
be
wrong,
but
I'm
just
curious.
If
we
can
get
a
list,
or
at
least
I
can
get
a
list
from
my
award,
particularly
that
because
I
also
have
areas
where
there
has
been.
AQ
In
the
past
conversations
on
cdbg
funding
around
like
Smith
Street
baby,
you
have
on
the
grocery
side
that
falls
under
that
category,
but
also
in
general,
just
to
get
an
idea,
given
the
fact
that
you
have
also
shared
that
word,
one
is
at
16
the
lease
of
all
the
awards,
with
the
exception
of
Patuxent
Village.
Of
course,
I.
AK
AU
Area
actually,
what
ones
and
I'll
say
third
place
with
16
percent
Ward,
five
with
eighteen,
two
at
27
percent,
then
you
have
a
ward
3
at
12
and
14
each
forwards,
four
and
six
they're
on
the
lower
side,
too.
Okay,
so
three,
all.
AQ
AU
AQ
AL
Thank
you,
madam
president.
I
think
I
have
two
more,
but
I'm
gonna
send
those
two
for
the
next
meeting.
So
as
we
cannot
stay
long,
we
have
half
hour.
We
have
more
left.
So
my
next
one
was
discussion
on
this
infrastructure
balance.
So
I
know
we
had
a
crimson
resident
path
vote
for
about
for
sewer
infrastructure.
AL
So
if
we
use
this
money
because
we
have
a
big
problem-
that's
the
next
one
is
connected
to
my
next
communication,
which
is
floating
issue,
and
we
have
a
sore
problem
right
in
this
neighborhood
where
we
are
I
was
talking
about
Paving
and
since
2020
I
have
a
resident,
many
residents
that
have
reached
out
and
one
of
them
almost
lose
her
her
property
because
of
flooding,
and
she
has
to
take
on
the
responsibility
by
herself
to
fix,
because
we
have
a
water
issue
over
there.
AL
So
it's
two
things
really
connected,
so
I
would
like
to
know
how
much
money
we
have
in
this
Bond.
If
we
use
it
or
not.
If
we
can
now
initiate
a
project
for
the
sewer
issue,
we
have
so
that's
the
that's.
Why
I
have
it
there
but
I
think
I'm
going
to
ask
Madame
Claire
to
put
those
two
communication
for
next
meeting.
AL
Can
you
put
it
for
in
public
works
quote?
Yes,
please.
AP
Yeah
I'll
be
really
quick.
The
first
item
was
1025
Phoenix
Avenue
I.
My
intention
was
just
to
make
the
administration
aware
that
something's
happening
at
that
property
and
that
we
should
really
make
sure
that
it's
all
legal
and
nothing's
happening
that
shouldn't
I
I'm,
not
a
judge
of
whether
they're
doing
anything
right
or
wrong.
I
just
wanted
to
bring
it
to
your
attention.
AU
In
preparation
for
your
your
question
today,
what
I
received
is,
they
did
apply
for
a
building
permit
for
an
edition
of
a
shed
to
that
property,
but
the
use
is
to
maintain
it
as
a
barn
and
there
are
no
zoning
applications.
So
that's
where
it
is
straightforward,
but
understand
we
heard
testimony
tonight
and
to
certainly
be
aware,
if
there's
any
different
activities
going.
AP
It
could
be
considered
substantial,
okay,
and
the
second
thing
is
since
Channel
10
is
on
here
I'd
like
to
thank
them
for
letting
us
know
about
Costco.
Can
you
give
us
an
update
on
Costco,
not.
AU
A
lot
what
we
do
know
is
Costco
plans
on
submitting
zoning
modification
requests
to
the
city.
I
assume
that
to
go
through
the
zoning,
certainly
planning
board
into
the
council
and
through
that
process.
AU
Certainly
public
hearings
to
be
involved-
and
there
very
well
could
be
Dem
hurdles
or
applications
that
need
to
be
satisfied
along
with
Dem
much
beyond
that
they
play
they've
expressed
that
they
plan
to
locate
at
right
where
the
old
former
medium
security
building
is,
is
that
God
is
off
Goddard
in
Howard,
Industrial,
Park
I
believe
beyond
that
I
guess
I
have
to
leave
it
to
their
plans,
whatever
they're
going
to
bring
forward.
C
Oh
all
right
next
Council
business
matters
carried
over
there
are
none
before
we
take
before
I.
Take
motion
on
the
new
business
just
wanted
to
wish
everyone
a
happy
end
of
summer.
A
happy
welcome
to
fall
and
best
of
luck
to
family
students,
teachers,
everybody
going
back
to
school
in
our
city
and
across
the
state.
That's
it
but
well
wishes.
