A
B
Name
is
Marty
Miller,
my
wife
and
I
have
raised
our
family
in
cupertino
for
the
past
30
years,
I've
been
chair
and
member
of
the
Planning
Commission
for
the
past,
seven
I
have
many
years
of
management
experience
in
Silicon
Valley
in
both
marketing
and
finance.
My
education
includes
an
MBA
from
Stanford
and
two
engineering
degrees.
I've,
been
a
community
advocate
for
many
years
successfully
advocating
for
Cupertino's.
B
First,
no
smoking
ordinance
as
a
planning,
Commissioner,
I,
facilitated,
neighborhood
issue
resolution
in
the
blue,
pheasant
area,
oak
valley,
Linwood,
acres
and
Ragnar
Creek
I've
also
advocated
for
greater
openness
in
government
and
proactive
planning
to
protect
our
schools
from
overdevelopment.
Our
city
currently
faces
major
challenges,
property
values
are
declining
and
our
schools
are
struggling.
General
fund
expenditures
exceeded
income
for
the
past
three
years
and
another
shortfall
is
projected.
The
city
has
roughly
fifty
four
million
in
debt
and
spends
3.5
million
a
year
on
debt
payments.
B
Two-Thirds
of
city
sales,
tax
revenues
come
from
just
three
business
to
business
tax
producers,
exposing
our
revenue
base
to
great
risk.
These
are
the
facts.
I
found
them
in
this
year's
adopted
budget
to
ensure
the
city's
long-term
fiscal
stability
requires
a
focus
on
revitalizing
our
business
districts.
It's
important
to
make
apple.
Second
campus
successful.
It's
equally
important
to
improve
our
underperforming
retail
centers
to
broaden
our
revenue
base.
The
city
must
also
improve
efficiency
and
reorder
its
priorities.
B
Infrastructure
maintenance
has
been
cut
to
an
all-time
low
over
the
past
few
years,
yet
the
city
spent
two
million
on
a
little-used
walking
bridge
over
280,
addressing
streetscape
deterioration
and
lack
of
attention
to
safety.
Issues
such
as
speeding
near
school
sites
and
in
our
neighborhoods
must
increase
in
importance.
My
top
priorities
are
protecting
our
schools
and
property
values
and
stabilizing
our
finances
through
efficiency
improvements,
collaboration
with
commercial
property
owners
and
offering
incentives
to
desirable
businesses
to
locate
here
in
cupertino
vote.
