From YouTube: County of Santa Clara Public Health: Staying Safe During the Labor Day Weekend - September 4, 2020
Description
Today, the County discusses how to stay safe going into the Labor Day weekend. Our data shows that holiday weekends are typically followed with a rise in COVID-19 cases. We will also share information on how to stay cool and hydrated for the upcoming heat wave and beach and park closings.

B
Hi
everybody
thank
you
for
joining
us,
I'm
larry
little.
We
begin
this
morning
with
a
focus
on
safety
as
we
head
into
the
holiday
weekend.
Of
course,
we
typically
see
a
rise
in
covet
cases
after
a
holiday
weekend,
so
we
want
to
spend
some
time
going
over
some
safety
measures
that
you
should
take
this
weekend
as
well
as
giving
you
an
update
on
some
other
things,
to
look
out
that
we
are
expecting
this
weekend.
Let's
go
ahead
and
start
by
taking
a
look
at
our
data
dashboard.
B
B
Hospitalization
rates
seem
to
be
going
down,
so
that
is
a
good
trend.
Let's
also
take
a
look
at
the
demographics
here
we
see
a
rise
in
the
age
range
from
20
to
29
years
old,
as
well
as
19
and
under
we've,
seen
a
higher
number
of
covet
cases
with
that
demographic
as
well,
and
we're
looking
at
the
rate
of
transmission.
Also
at
59.8
percent-
so
that's
community
transmission.
B
One
thing
we
want
to
do
is
take
those
extra
precautions
this
weekend,
when
we're
out
and
about.
If
you
take
a
look
here,
the
state
rolled
out
a
blueprint
for
a
safer
economy
which
some
of
our
businesses
were
allowed
to
reopen
as
of
august
31st,
the
hair,
salons
and
barbershops.
B
We
are
currently
in
the
purple
here
you
can
see,
and
that
means
santa
clara
county
has
widespread
many
non-essential
indoor
businesses
remain
closed.
We
want
to
move
that
to
a
better
place.
Of
course,
red
will
be
the
next
step,
then
orange
and
of
course
we
want
to
get
santa
clara
county
into
yellow,
because
that
is
going
to
guarantee
that
all
of
our
businesses
are
able
to
operate.
Everyone
goes
back
to
work
and,
of
course,
more
importantly,
people
are
able
to
or
the
children
are
able
to
go
back
to
school.
B
I
want
to
go
over
some
of
the
safety
precautions
that
you
should
take
this
weekend.
Of
course,
do
not
hang
out
with
people
that
live
outside
of
your
household,
meaning.
Let
me
put
it
in
a
positive
way:
hang
out
only
with
the
people
that
live
in
your
household
outdoors
is
much
safer
than
indoors
wear
a
face
covering
at
all
times.
If
you
feel
sick,
please
do
not
leave
your
home
because
there's
a
rate
a
chance
that
you
would
transmit
the
virus
to
someone
else.
B
B
One
thing
our
contact
tracing
has
found
is
that
some
of
the
rate
of
transmissions
the
transmissions
are
happening
when
people
attend
gatherings
after
they
attend
those
gatherings,
usually
within
two
to
ten
days.
They
are
becoming
ill
and,
of
course,
spreading
that
virus
to
others
in
their
household
all
right
and
going
into
the
weekend.
You
also
want
to
be
mindful
of
closings.
There
are
several
closings.
Of
course
we
have.
Numerous
parks
are
closed
with
the
county
because
of
the
fire
damage
and
the
danger
from
the
days
before.
B
B
Santa
cruz
beach
will
be
closed
for
labor
day
in
the
daytime,
and
you
see
here
there,
the
tweet
from
santa
cruz
county
labor
day
weekend
daytime
beach
closures,
in
effect
throughout
santa
cruz
and
the
monterey
bay.
Also
back
here,
you
can
see
also,
as
in
san
mateo
county
pacifica
beaches.
Pacifica
beaches
will
be
closed
as
well.
B
The
beach
parking
lots
will
be
closed
for
the
holiday
weekend,
so
I
think
everyone
is
trying
to
most
of
the
state
is
currently
in
the
purple,
and
I
think
people
are
trying
to
move
in
a
different
direction
direction
with
the
tier
system
provided
by
the
state.
So
no
beaches
this
weekend
also
want
to
make
you
mindful
of
air
quality.
This
weekend
you
can
see
today.
Air
quality
is
moderate,
for
people
with
respiratory
issues
is
not
healthy.
It's
best
to
limit
your
outdoor
activities,
and
you
can
see
sorry
you
can
see
tomorrow.
B
Through
tuesday
we
will
have
moderate
air
quality,
we're
also
going
to
be
dealing
with
heat
waves
throughout
the
bay
area.
This
weekend
we
could
see
temperatures
as
high
as
111
in
the
east
bay
94
here
in
san
jose.
So
you
want
to
keep
yourself
hydrated
as
well
as
check
on
your
elderly
neighbors.
You
know
many
people
here
in
the
area
do
not
have
ac
units
so
be
sure
to
check
on
your
elderly
neighbors
neighbors
make
sure
that
they
are
doing
fine
as
well
as
care
for
your
pets.
B
If
you
have
pets
outside
make
sure
they
have
water
and
make
sure
that
they
are
in
some
shade
as
well
stay
tuned
to
our
social
media
sites,
we
will
have
information
on
cooling
centers
throughout
the
county,
where
people
who
are
exposed
to
the
heat
will
be
able
to
take
a
break
and
go
to
those
cooling
centers.
I
want
to
remind
you
to,
of
course,
check
alertscc.org
sign
up
for
the
information
where
you
can
be
notified
on
the
app.
B
If
there
are
any
emergencies
anytime,
you
know
we
are
still
recovering
from
the
fires
here
in
the
county
and
counties
our
neighboring
counties
as
well,
but
if
you
want
to
be
updated
on
any
emergencies
happening
here
in
the
county,
sign
up
at
alert
scc.org
all
right.
Well,
that's
going
to
do
it
for
this
edition
of
live
with
the
county
of
santa
clara
facebook
live
in
spanish
comes
up
at
11
o'clock
and,
of
course,
every
thursday
we
have
facebook
live
in
vietnamese
at
10
a.m.
Thanks
for
watching
be
safe.
This
weekend
have
a
great.
