B
D
Thank
you.
I
know
you've
mentioned
that,
of
course,
veterans
day
is
tomorrow
and
I
want
to
say
thank
you
to
all
of
our
veterans
as
well,
for
your
selfless
service
to
our
country
as
dedicated
loyal
servants.
Your
dedication
brings
honor
and
glory
to
our
great
nation,
but
also
when
our
veterans
come
back
from
their
tour
of
duty.
They
become
servants
in
our
community
as
well.
So
I
want
to
say
thank
you
for
that
for
your
dedication
and
support
to
our
community.
I
did
want
to
remind
everyone.
D
C
E
F
Chair
I'd
like
to
join
everyone
else
in
thanking
all
our
veterans.
My
father
is
a
veteran
of
world
war
ii,
but
our
our
military
helps
keep
our
democracy
strong.
So
thank
you.
A
F
Yes,
I
received
a
letter
from
the
garden
city
fire
department,
I'd
like
to
share
it
to
everyone
in
the
public.
It's
addressed
to
mayor
politco
6045
in
dearborn
heights
michigan
on
friday
october
23,
2015
garden
city
fire
department
received
multiple
calls
on
a
commercial
building
fire
at
bar
153,
located
at
the
corner
of
ford
road
in
merriman.
F
F
Upon
arrival,
we
reported
that
barwin
153
was
consumed
with
a
significant
amount
of
fire
with
very
heavy
smoke
coming
from
the
front
and
rear
of
the
building.
The
two
businesses
adjoining
the
bar
had
not
yet
been
affected
by
the
fire.
Our
first
concern
was
to
protect
the
exposure
and
not
allow
the
fire
to
spread
shortly.
After
my
arrival
captain
paul
nedo,
his
crew
and
chief
dave
brogan
arrived
on
the
scene.
Captain
nino
was
assigned
interior
attack
with
members
of
the
garden
city,
fire
department,
chief
rogan
was
assigned
roof
operations
officer.
F
Captain
nito
and
his
crew
made
multiple
offensive
entries
into
the
bar
over
an
extended
amount
of
time.
This
particular
fire
was
out
of
control
and
very
hot.
From
the
start,
chief
brogan
took
command
of
the
rough.
He
was
able
to
successfully
vertically
ventilate
the
roof
area
directly
above
the
seat
of
the
fire,
reducing
the
heat
in
the
building,
allowing
the
interior
crews
a
safer
environment
in
which
to
work.
The
ability
to
delegate
this
task
to
chief
rogan
allowed
me,
as
incident
commander,
to
turn
my
attention
to
other
ongoing
problems
at
hand.
F
Eventually,
we
were
able
to
extinguish
the
fire,
save
the
building
and
successfully
protect
both
exposures,
if
not
for
the
willingness
of
your
men
and
the
ability
to
respond
without
delay
or
hesitation
in
assisting
the
garden
city
fire
department.
The
outcome
of
this
incident
could
have
been
much
different.
I
would
like
to
formally
thank
captain
brogan
captain,
our
chief
brogan
captain
nieto
and
his
crew
for
their
assistance
and
hard
work
on
that
morning.
F
With
the
economic
climate
we
see
ourselves,
it
is
critical
that
we
work
together
in
a
safe
and
effective
manner
in
order
to
continue
to
protect
the
citizens
of
which
we
serve.
I
look.
I
look
forward
to
one
day
repaying
the
dearborn
heights
fire
department
for
the
help
they
provided
garden
city
on
that
night,
sincerely:
captain
scott
markovitz
garden
city,
fire
department,
good
job
to
our
fire
department,.
F
B
Okay,
nothing
else,
then.
Okay,
then,
at
this
time,
if
anyone
has
any
events,
things
going
on
happening
in
the
city
come
up
to
the
microphone,
nothing
going
on
mike
a
lot
more
vx
meetings.
Oh
okay!
Okay,
then,
at
this
time,
if
anyone
would
like
to
speak,
oh
that
was
your
opportunity.
G
Thank
you
very
much.
I
appreciate
wow.
I
appreciate
this
opportunity.
I
just
want
to
take
a
moment
to
thank
those
folks
that
helped
us
out,
with
the
make
a
senior
smile
day,
we
were
able
to
go
out
and
rake
leaves
and
for
15
seniors
and
clear
all
the
walkways
around
the
eaton
center
for
the
seniors
that
come
in
and
out,
and
we
did
close
to
300
bags
of
leaves
with
50
volunteers
and
and
it
was
just
a
great
turnout.
G
I
want
to
thank
the
mayor
for
allowing
us
to
use
the
eaton
center
your
senior
activities
director
over
there
kristen
rockinso.
She
was
wonderful.
She
came
in
early
and
helped
us
open
up
the
senior
volunteers,
linda
mahany
and
barth
burchelli
seniors,
helping
seniors,
which
is
awesome,
councilwoman,
hicks,
clayton
and
councilwoman
horvath
for
their
behind
the
scenes,
organizing
of
volunteers
and
bringing
them
out
and
coming
out
congresswoman
debbie
dingle
for
coming
out
to
speak
in
her
horrifically
busy
schedule.
G
But
she
took
the
time
to
come
out
and
thank
our
volunteers
with
a
very
heartful
heartfelt
message
and
talking
about.
What's
you
know
her
husband's
a
senior,
and
she
says
you
look
at
what
seniors
used
to
be
able
to
do
for
themselves
and
in
their
minds?
They
still
think
they
can
and
they
still
want
to
and
and
they
just
can't
and
that
it
means
the
world
to
them,
that
people
will
come
out
and
help
them
out.
G
So
they
can
have
that
kind
of
pride
in
their
in
their
home
and
their
property,
and
it
was
a
very
heartfelt
message.
I
think
it
meant
the
world
to
the
to
the
volunteers.
I
mean
the
kids
hung
on
every
word
out
there.
We
I
have
to
thank
there's
so
many
groups
that
came
out
your
fire
chief
and
your
police
chief.
Thank
you
chief
brogan
and
chief
gavin.
They
came
out
and
rake
leaves
with
us.
G
Your
state
representative
julie,
powecki
spent
the
whole
day
with
us
raking
and
the
kids
from
the
key
club
annapolis
high
school.
The
k
kids
came
out
golf
teen
action,
council,
teen
action
council
from
golfing
manor,
the
crestwood
high
school
honor
society.
So
you
really
had
representation
from
all
over
the
city.
With
the
kids,
the
master
gardeners
turned
out
in
real
good
numbers,
so
it
was
just
all
in
all.
It
was
a
wonderful
event.
G
I
got
to
thank
our
sponsors,
the
new
papa
john's
pizza
on
telegraph,
road,
the
pizza
is
fabulous
and
they
really
gave
us
an
awesome
deal
to
make
it
doable
for
us
and
and
of
course,
the
home
depot
for
donating
a
lot
of
the
bags.
So
all
in
all,
we
are
getting
calls
and
letters
from
the
seniors
they're,
very
appreciative
of
the
service.
So
thanks
to
all
of
you
to
help
make
it
happen.
My
staff
jaylee
lynch
who
isn't
here
today
worked
her
butt
off
on
this
and
so
did
lisa
childs
in
my
office.
G
B
H
I'm
just
going
to
make
a
quick
announcement
for
the
month
of
november,
the
police
department
is
participating
in
movember,
which
is
men's
health
month,
so
you'll
see
a
lot
of
our
officers
having
beards
mustache.
So
what
we
did
is
we
waived
the
facial
policy
for
the
month
of
november,
we
collected
money
from
the
from
the
officers
that
volunteered
and
then
we're
going
to
donate
the
money
to
the
thin
blue
line,
which
is
a
police
organization.
H
Next
year,
is
going
to
be
10
years
that
we
lost
officer
mikowski,
so
we're
going
to
make
a
donation
in
his
memory
and
use
the
money
to
help
spruce
up
the
memorial
in
front
of
the
police
station,
so
just
our
council
and
our
citizens,
if
you
see
our
officers
for
the
month
growing
their
beard
in
that
it's
been
approved
and
it
cost
them
a
dollar
data
to
be
involved,
so
hopefully
we'll
get
some
good
money
and
we'll
donate
good
good
cause.
Thank
you.
Thanks.
B
Any
further
announcements,
seeing
none
that
at
this
time,
if
anyone
would
like
to
speak,
please
come
up
to
the
podium,
give
your
name
street
in
the
city
you
live
on.
You
will
have
three
minutes
to
talk
when
you
have
15
seconds
left.
Councilman
barry
will
hold
up
this
sign
and
when
your
three
minutes
are
up,
he
holds
up
the
stop
sign.
So
if
anyone
would
like
to
come
to
the
podium.
I
Good
evening
kelly,
wilson,
7128
north
evangeline,
I
have
two
hats
tonight
and
I
don't
know
that's
split
to
three
minutes
and
the
one
fifth
and
one
thirty,
but
first
off
on
behalf
of
the
dearborn
heights
soccer
club.
I
am
the
club
vice
president
and
I'm
coming
to
the
city
with
a
plea.
We
need
your
assistance.
I
We
get
great
assistance
from
the
grass
cutters
so
bill.
Thank
you
for
for
ray
who
has
been
working
with
me
directly.
We
had
no
complaints,
this
fall
for
grass
cutting,
so
that
was
great,
but
we
do
do
field
maintenance,
there's
several
spots
that
need
to
be
not
resotted
but
turned
up
soil
and
with
grass
seed.
I
But
really
we
need
the
city
to
step
up
and
help
us
in
a
much
bigger
capacity,
we're
shrinking
in
size,
because
other
kids
are
going
to
different
clubs
because
we're
not
able
to
provide
the
the
resources,
the
the
field,
the
conditions
that
other
clubs
are
able
to
do.
So
at
some
point
maybe
someone
with
the
city
will
like
to
meet
with
the
club
to
discuss
this
a
couple
things
that
have
happened
over
the
last
five
years
with
the
addition
of
hype,
we've
lost
eight
fields,
so
we
don't
have
that
resource.
I
We
actually
came
to
the
city
about
canfield
arena
and
we
would
like
to
revisit
that
idea.
I
think
their
contract
is
up
next
season
next
year
april
or
june
2016..
I
We
still
would
like
to
be
considered
for
that
option
and
things
of
that
nature
to
help
the
soccer
club,
because
we
have
lots
of
great
adults
that
want
to
help
coach.
We
have
lots
of
great
kids
in
our
city,
but
they're
going
to
other
clubs,
because
we
cannot
provide
and
as
a
growing
sport
in
the
in
the
country,
clubs
are
charging
an
outrageous
amount.
I
As
a
homeowner
in
dearborn
heights,
my
house
sits
across
from
town
evangeline
right
across
from
papaya
and
they've
been
better,
but
the
long-standing
issue
with
papaya
is
commercial
vehicles.
There's
a
sign
that
says
no
commercial
vehicles
allowed.
I
understand
some
parameters,
they
need
to
deliver
the
back
alleyway,
but
many
other
trucks
are
taking
a
trek
down,
evangeline
towards
haas
or
richardson
and
churning
right
on
richardson,
making
it
easier
for
them.
I
I
I
mean
we
would
call
the
the
police
several
times
the
ordinance
officers.
It
was
always
10
seconds
too
late,
and
it's
just
you
know
in
support
of
the
residents
in
that
area
would
be
nice
if
they
would
be
more
considerate
of
that,
and
I'm
asking
the
city
council
that
to
consider
that
I
don't
know
if
calling
the
ordinance
officers
any
more
than
I
already
have,
and
I
almost
feel
like
when
I
call
the
non-emergency
number.
I
They
know
it's
me
other
than
caller
id,
but
it's
just
it's
an
ongoing
issue
and
I'd
like
to
see
it
resolved
at
some
point.
I
don't
know
how
much
more
I
can
do
because,
like
I
said
they
are
trying,
but
the
fact
that
their
drivers
are
not
paying
any
attention
to
the
laws
about
no
commercial
vehicles
down
the
vantage
line
rather
than
that.
So.
I
I
don't
know
what
the
ordinance
is
as
far
as
deliveries
too
my
neighbor
across
the
street.
They
deal
with
it
more
than
I
do
because
they're
right
behind
you
know
tuesday's
seven
o'clock
in
the
morning,
they're
back
there
with
an
open
truck
cutting
carcasses
in
the
alleyway,
and
it's
like
I
mean
you
have
no
shame.
I
mean
I
understand
it's
a
business,
they
gotta
run.
I
I
get
it,
but
maybe
that
should
have
been
considered
when
they
decide
to
put
it
there.
So
I
don't
know
maybe.
F
You
come
and
we'll
set
up
a
meeting
with
ken
bill,
maybe
the
three
of
us
and
whoever
you
want
to
bring
from
your
organization
and
we'll
try
to
address
those
concerns,
because
soccer
is
growing
up
when
I
grew
up
baseball
and
football
and
basketball
were
big
but
soccer,
and
we
want
to
support
your
group
in
any
way
we
can
so
after
meeting
come
up
we'll
set
something
up
and
then
through
the
police
ordinance.
You
guys
have
some
ideas
in
regards
to
you.
H
Know
we've
been
going
out
there
I
think
he's
dealt
with
officer.
Fruschev
goes
out
there
with
traffic
bureau,
so
we're
trying
to
enforce,
but
again,
sometimes
in
the
morning
we're
not
working
that
early
or
whatever,
but
I'll
ask
you
guys
to
stay
with
the
enforcement.
The
signs
are
posted.
There.
We've
talked
to
the
owners
at
papaya
and
asked
if
you
know
if
they
go
through
the
alley
and
they
come
back
out
to
warren,
but
a
lot
of
times
they
go
south
right
now,
richardson
and
thus
the
homeowners
use
that
upset.
I
Councilman
barry
I
one
at
one
point
I
took
my
phone
out
there
and
the
driver
got
like
I
like
almost
irate,
where
he
jumped
in
the
car,
went
to
the
truck
and
went
to
take
off.
Then
he
stopped
got
out
and
says:
what
are
you
doing
with
that?
Yeah,
I'm
just
a
citizen.
I
live.
I
One
of
the
things
I
thought
that
maybe
they
should
do
is
have
their
deliveries.
You
know
they
don't
need
to
be
open
at
seven.
I
don't
know,
maybe
they
do,
but
again
it's
a
business.
I
understand
it's
nice
to
have
businesses
in
our
city
that
are
thriving.
I
think
they're
doing
well,
but
it's
just
a
lack
of
consideration.
