Description
City of Dearborn Heights, MI
Special council meeting taking place July 21st, 2015.
A
B
B
A
Simplest
councilman
Kaczynski
second,
by
a
compliment
constants.
So
any
discussion
hearing,
none
all
in
favor
of
the
motion,
I
I,
suppose
motion
carried
I,
never
ate
reports
on
the
mayor
a
day
from
a
pleco
fire
department
grants
we
have
them
in
front
of
us
and
there
will
be
two
motions,
one
for
each
one:
the
FG
will
be
130
6364
or
if
you
want
some
pre
discussion.
D
A
C
D
Any
it's
completely
in
line
with
them.
We
were
assuming
the
real
big
benefit
to
this
is
that
it
will
greatly
decrease
and
also
decrease
the
possibility
of
overtime
in
the
fire
department
when
you're.
When
you
fully
are
up
to
your
limit,
then
you
don't
incur
all
this
as
much
overtime
possibilities.
So
that's
the
biggest
thing
and
for
a
while
there,
when
we
were
running
five,
six
firefighters
under
than
we
were
watching
in
the
budget
about
700,
800
thousand
dollars
of
overtime
for
their
department,
and
it
just
there
was
no
way
to
solve
that
particular
issue.
D
C
D
Kind
of
knew
that
this
was
a
possibility
and
the
budget
we
don't
like
to
put
things
in
a
budget
unless
we
know
a
hundred
percent.
We
have
them.
We
felt
pretty
good
about
these,
but
it
was
anticipated
that
we
would
receive
the
safer
grant.
I
think
I
felt
more
comfortable
with
and
the
equipment
grant,
but
we
we
had
a
good
feeling
towards
the
safer
grant,
particularly.
D
E
Chairman,
it's
just
for
public
information,
because
I
don't-
I
spoke
with
chief
Brogan
about
this.
This
will
allow
for
higher
of
eight
new
firefighters,
which
brings
us
to
full
staff
of
52
in
that
department
and
I'm
familiar
with
the
safer
grant
and
that
provides
for
two
years
or
three
years
of
a
veteran
is
hired.
But
would
you
please
for
just
for
our
general
knowledge?
What
is
the
commitment
that
there
is
a
extension
of
what
we
have
to
maintain
that
staffing.
F
A

F
A
A
E
Had
to
find
my
note,
I
know
everyone
will
be
reading
about
this,
but
I
want
to
say
congratulations
to
Barth
butcher
le
who
is
the
2015
Margaret
Whitehead
senior
of
the
year.
This
is
a
fifth
consecutive
year
of
resident
from
Dearborn.
Heights
has
received
the
state
award
for
senior
of
the
year
and
its
nine
winners
from
Dearborn
Heights
since
1990.
So
we
really
appreciate
the
time
and
talent
that
our
residents
give
back
to
the
community
through
volunteering.
So
thank
you
and
congratulations.
Barth.
C
D
What
what
are
the
one
of
the
big
decisions
that
were
done,
I
think
it
was
last
budget
year-
might
have
been
one
before
we
took
Lisa?
Who
was
one
of
her
firefighters
and
is
we've
been
spending
money
on
training
for
granny
applications
and
so
we've
kind
of
moved
her
from
active
duty?
If
you
will
into
a
white
shirt.
F
F
Maintaining
the
grants
takes
a
lot
of
work,
doing
all
appropriate
forwarding
and
all
the
accountability
of
everything
going
on
you're
constantly
emailing,
with
the
federal
government
myself
trying
to
trying
to
keep
all
the
details
straight
because
you
can
very
easily
get
disqualified
from
these.
If
you
mess
up
on
soldier
report,
we
were
actually
audited
from
the
group
that
supervising
FEMA
to
make
certain
he
said
all
of
our
study
and
she's
been
moved
up.
Lieutenant
Martin
to
the
40.
D
And
part
of
the
agreement
was
when
the
when
the
chief
came
to
myself
and
to
all
of
you
was
that
we
put
them
on
notice
that
we
were
creating
this
grant
kind
of
job
opportunity,
and
it
was
conditional
upon
success
and
I
think
when
you
pick
up
a
million
dollars
that
success.
So
it's
it's.
Actually
it
was
a
good
suggestion.
It's
worked
out
very
well
and
that's
how
it
came
about
me.
F
F
F
E
E
I
just
had
a
question
for
the
administration
I
know
there
was
mention
of
the
refund
from
the
MMR
ma
in
my
question
is
for
what
consideration
for
allocation
of
those
funds
have
had
that
been
concerned?
At
this
point,
because
I
know,
I
was
just
thinking
of
ordnance
department
and
need
for
staffing
and
things
like
that.
The.
D
We
had
placed
in
in
the
budget
in
anticipation.
If
we
had
not
received
the
money,
we
would
have
been
looking
at
doing
some
cutbacks,
and
this
allow
the
budget
to
operate,
as
is
so.
It's
not
million
dollars.
Over
and
above
what
we
anticipate
in
the
budget,
it
was
anticipated.
So
there
is
not
a
excess
amount
of
money
to
be
utilized
in
other
areas.
All.
A
Okay,
you
know
some
of
the
council
members.
Okay,
at
this
point,
does
anyone
have
any
announcements
things
going
on
happening
in
the
city,
but
at
this
point,
if
anyone
has
any
questions
or
wish
they'd
bring
to
us
that
please
come
up
to
the
microphone,
give
your
name
address
and
city
you
live
in.
You
will
have
three
minutes
from
the
time
you
give
it
seeing
none
motion
to
adjourn
reading
some.
