From YouTube: Dearborn Heights Study Session - 1/25/21
Description
The Dearborn Heights Study Session containing the Mayoral Candidate Interviews taking place Monday, January 25th 2021 via Zoom.
A
I
appreciate
this
opportunity
and
consideration
of
the
appointment.
I
just
want
to
be
go
on
records.
I
live
on
739
kinloch
in
dearborn
heights.
It
will
be
my
distinct
honor
to
earn
your
nomination
for
the
mayoral
appointment
to
serve
dearborn
heights
in
this
capacity
until
the
elections
is
in
november.
This
year
I
remain
committed
to
bring
in
my
underground
experience,
working
with
the
city,
council
and
residents
in
dearborn
heights.
A
I
have
also
worked
for
world-renowned
corporations,
including
the
boeing
airplane
company,
as
a
quality
manager,
an
elite
auditor
and
currently
at
ford
motor
company.
As
a
product
development
engineer,
in
this
capacity
I
have
audited
various
tiers
of
multi-million
dollar
and
billion
dollar
corporations
from
their
manufacturing
to
their
finance
department.
A
A
My
current
affiliation,
I'm
the
currently
the
president
of
the
ford
veterans
network
group,
the
commander
of
the
durban
allied
war
veterans,
council
champion
and
advisory
board.
Member
of
the
midnight
golf
youth
program,
advisory
board,
member
of
the
world
medical
relief
organizer
of
the
and
committee
member
of
the
dearborn
memorial
day,
parade
for
at
least
seven
to
ten
years,
organizer
for
the
toys
for
tots
program,
mentor
of
the
veterans
court
and
I'm
also
a
member
of
the
marine
corps
league
american
legion,
disabled
american
veterans.
A
If
a
point,
if
I
pointed
I
will
uphold
my
commitment
to
effectively
work
alongside
our
council
members
city
officials
for
the
people
of
dearborn
heights,
I
am
not
a
politician,
nor
am
I
interested
in
a
political
career.
I
am
only
interested
in
continuing
to
serve
and
advance
the
city
of
dearborn
heights
and
our
residents
in
addition
to
serving
our
city.
As
a
council
member,
I
also
work
underground
with
our
residents.
During
the
pandemic,
I
have
organized
many
food
drives
and
deliveries
to
dearborn
high
senior
citizens.
A
I
was
able
to
get
the
support
of
many
wonderful
parents
and
youth
groups
and
members
of
the
kiwanis
club
who
selflessly
gave
their
time
away
from
home
and
also
on
weekends
during
hot
summer
months
and
cold
winter
weather.
Some
of
our
volunteers
are
currently
on
zoom
call.
I
saw
them
earlier.
I
want
to
thank
them
for
their
participation
and
service
to
our
city.
A
A
A
Ongoing
communications
within
between
administration
city
council
and
the
residents
attract
investors,
which
enhance
aesthetics
of
our
neighborhoods
to
all
ends
of
the
city,
provide
maintenance
and
resources
and
resources
to
all
ends
of
the
city
involve
our
seniors
and
youth
address.
Residents.
Concerns
and
governance
begins
with
an
effective
leadership.
A
A
B
Okay,
sorry,
then,
I
will
unmute
the
council.
D
E
Thank
you
for
your
service,
councilman
bezzy,
I'm
reading
through
all
of
this,
it's
very,
very
impressive,
and
the
country
as
a
whole
is
lucky
to
have
you
as
a
person
and
as
a
marine.
I
really
don't
have
any
questions
at
this
moment,
so
I
yield
my
time
to
another
council
person.
F
F
What
are
your
positive
attributes
that
you
feel
would
be
a
total
asset
to
our
city
as
a
potential
mayor
and
what
are
the
challenges
that
you
think
you
would
have
personally
as
far
as
possibly
being
a
mayor
now
when
I,
when
I
say
that
I
just
want
to
make
it
clear
we're
not
asking
about
what
challenges
the
city
has,
but
if
you
want
to
address
those,
that's
fine,
but
how
what
challenges
would
you
have
in
being
able
to
work
as
a
potential
mayor
and
what
assets
do
you
think
you
bring
on
being
a
potential
mayor?
F
A
Well,
the
first,
thank
you,
councilman
abdullah,
the
first
one
is,
you
know
you
have
to
have
passion,
you
have
to
have
the
skills
and
you
also
have
to
have
to
have
the
discipline
and
I
do
have
all
three
you
know
with
21
years
in
the
military
or
especially
in
the
marine
corps.
Obviously
you
know
being
on
the
council
being
in
the
marines.
I
do
have
the
passion
you
know
to
serve
to
do
what
needs
to
be
done.
This
is
something
that
you
know.
A
You
know
all
all
the
years
that
I've
had.
You
know.
That's
I've
always
wanted
to
service.
You
know
people
or
to
service
the
country
or
service,
the
city
or
the
community
that
I
live
in.
A
For
the
personal
challenge
mind
is
I'm
I'm
very,
very
passionate
about
everything
I
do
not
and
I
like
to
see
everything
to
completion,
and
so
I
have
the
tendency
to
submerge
myself
and
my
work
and
I
give
myself
a
break
well,
I'm
well
overdue
for
a
little
vacation,
maybe
after
this
thing
is
over,
but
maybe
I'll
take
a
little
road
trip.
But
that's
that's!
That's
my
biggest
personal
challenge.
G
Thank
you,
madam
sharon.
Thank
you,
councilman
bozzi,
for
applying
along
the
same
lines
as
kausman
abdullah.
What
can
you
tell
us
about
your
background?
As
far
as
how
many
elected
positions
you've
held,
how
you've
been
able
to
manage
your
household,
your
finances
work
with
people
if
you've
ever
been
arrested,
that
type
of
thing.
A
Thank
you,
councilman
constant
appreciate
the
question.
I
guess
the
first
one
is.
This
is
my
first
well
city
council
was
my
first
elected
position,
obviously
being
in
the
military
they
they're.
You
don't
want
to
go
into.
I
guess
politics,
you
know
it's
it's
kind
of
hard
because
you're
getting
called
up
all
the
times
as
you.
If
you
see
on
my
my
resume,
I've
been
called
up
several
times
and
you
know
I've
had
some
tough
time.
You
know
when
there's
couple
deployments
that
I
was
on
you
know
I
had
some.
A
You
know
some
issues,
you
know
I
mean
just
concerned,
you
know,
as
you
know,
like
everybody
that
gets
deployed.
You
know
I
mean
I
remember
one
deployment
I
had.
I
only
had
three
days
to
get
packed
up
and
ready
and
you
got
to
leave
things
in
the
hands
of
you
know
certain
people
whoever's
around
you.
So
that's
that's
very
that's
very
hard.
You
know
on
anybody
and
you
know
I've
seen
it
throughout
my
military
career,
especially
in
the
last.
A
You
know
years
that
you
know,
we've
been
at
war,
you
know
some
of
us.
They
pretty
much
leave
everything
behind
and
just
whoever
is
is
around.
You
know,
take
care
of
everything
that
they
have.
You
know
I've
had
some
challenges
in
the
past.
You
know
because
of
deployments,
but
you
know
with
the
will
of
you
know:
god
help
and
everybody
around
you
and
I
was
able
to
bounce
back
and
you
know
get
to
where
I'm
at
right
now.
A
G
Was
in
the
reserves
and.
A
A
No
yeah
he's
mario
campos
he's
just
retired
from
ford
motor
company.
He
was
a
good
friend
also
he
was
a
retired
navy
commander.
I
actually
went
to
his
retirement
when
I
came
back
from
one
of
my
deployments
just
two
days
later,
he
retired
so
yeah
he's
a
great
guy.
He
was
on
our
board
for
the
ford
veterans
network
group.
Yes,.
A
Appreciate
it
yeah,
so,
oh
I
want
to
be.
You
said
arrest.
I've
never
been
arrested,
so
I
just
want
to
make
sure
you
asked
about
the
arrest.
No,
I've
never
been
arrested
and,
as
you
know,
I've
had
the
top
secret
clearance
for
several
several
top
secret
clearances,
and
you
know
the
government
when
they
issue
a
security
experience.
They
check
everything
they
even
check.
They
go
back
to
your
high
school
days.
So
I'm
I'm
good.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
H
Thank
you,
yeah
councilman
bozzi.
You
mentioned
something
about
the
ecorse
creek
here
on
the
south
end
of
deborah
heights.
That's
a
major
major
issue
can
do
you
have
any
plan
or
what's
your
thoughts
on
what
you
would
do,
if
you
were
appointed
to
the
position
of
mayor
for
the
course
creek,
and
if
you
want
to
go
quickly
on
the
vanborn
court
or
mention
something
about
that
also.
A
Thank
you,
councilman
wenzel.
I
know
for
about
a
little.
Over
a
year
ago,
I
met
with
some
people
about
the
ecorse
creek
and
even
as
a
council
member,
I
already
started
a
dialogue
with
the
flooding
issue.
A
This
is
a
this
has
plagued
our
city
and
the
quality
of
life
for
many
residents
for
years,
and
you
know
as
a
marine
and
an
engineer,
I
have
researched
the
issue
and
reached
out
to
multiple
organizations
within
my
network,
with
government
and
also
with
with
with
the
county,
you
know
to
help
find
a
resolution
and
devise
a
plan.
This
this
plan
involves
the
help
of
entities
of
volunteers.
A
Who
are
you
know,
ready
and
willing
to
work
with
us
to
clear
the
issues
and
establish
you
know
an
ongoing
solution,
and
yet
to
execute
this
plan,
we
all
need
to
work
collectively
to
support
in
ins
with
the
support
of
council
members
and
also
the
mayor,
and,
if
appointed
to
be
the
mayor,
I
I
am
committed
of
getting
all
these
both
parties
together
and
begin
the
process
immediately.
A
I,
like
I
said
I've
been
working
on
this
for
about
a
year
with
different
entities,
and
it's
it's
very
positive
and
I'm
hoping
you
know
if
I
get
this
appointment,
even
if
not
you
know,
I'm
still
committed
to
working
on
the
e-course
creek
and
the
vanborn
corridor,
that's
as
you
can
tell
or
more
council
members
in
the
last
you
know.
Over
a
year
ago
we
discussed
this.
I
was
very
excited
for
it
to
come
forward
and
do
something
on
vanborn.
A
This
is
a
main
street
in
our
city
and
we
do
need
to
improve
it.
We
need
to
get
the
aesthetics
and
there
was.
I
remember
there
was
a
three
proposals
that
were
presented
to
us
and
I
was
off.
I
was
for
all
three
proposals
and
I'm
hoping
that
we
put
it
forward
and
just
execute
the
plan
and
just
choosing
with
the
help
of
the
city
council
getting
something
going,
and
so
we
can
work
on
on
the
then
born
corridor.
B
B
You're
welcome
we'll
move
on
to
our
next
candidate,
which
is
anthony
camilleri.
Let
me
locate
him
and
I
will
unmute
ask
him
to
unmute
himself.
B
B
I
I
don't
know
if
you
want
to
call
it
a
tradition
of
coming
together
in
this
city,
but
I
feel
that
I
can
bridge
the
gap
so
that
we
can
all
work
together
and
get
things
done
and
I'm
a
little
nervous,
I'm
not
going
to
deny
that.
I
don't
have
as
much
time
in
as
council
members
as
everyone
is
there
so
bear
with
me.
I
I'm
a
long-time
49-year
resident
with
strong
ties
to
the
community,
I'm
a
crusted
graduate
of
1977.
I
was
a
leader
drum
major
in
the
crestwood
marching
band.
I
I
I
I
ended
up
getting
the
contract
for
the
detroit
tigers,
the
1984
world
series
team
becoming
personal
assistant
to
a
few
of
them,
and
is
they
all
actually
became
very
close
personal
friends
to
this
day,
along
with
entertainers
celebrities
athletes
who
also
have
become
long-time
personal
friends
of
mine.
I
have
own
owned
and
managed
both
of
those
business
have
strong
backgrounds
in
managerial
skills.
In
leadership.
I
I
also
had
a
landscaping
business,
which
I
was
able
to
be
awarded
a
government
contract
with
the
united
states
marines
at
the
broadhead
armory
on
jefferson
avenue,
just
east
of
the
belle
isle
bridge
until
they
transferred
to
suffrage
air
national
guard
base.
I
was
taking
care
of
both
bases
until
that
transfer
took
place.
I
did
have
government
clearance.
I
I
worked
well
with
the
pentagon,
the
marines
and
the
army,
who
issued
me
this
contract.
I
was
issued
a
distinguished
award
and
citation
by
the
united
states
marine
corps,
which
I
am
extremely
proud
of.
I
have
earned
many
awards
from
the
city
of
dearborn
heights,
which
were
distinguished
services
awards
from
the
city.
I
I've
also
been
a
toys
for
tots
volunteer
yeah.
Let's
see,
I've
worked
closely
with
brian
haddad
parks
and
recreation
the
last
year
or
so
trying
to
get
a
solution
to
the
north
end
of
the
golf
course
which
the
residents
had
a
problem
with
outgoing
golf
balls,
destroying
their
property
in
their
homes.
I've
spoken
with
tanya,
who
is
a
resident
there
off
of
newborn,
and
mr
abdellah
actually
came
out
there
with
with
us
and
spoke
with
her
and
seen
the
destruction
and
damage
for
himself.
I
I
I
And
I've
spoken
with
him
many
many
times
and
he
is
ready
to
move
as
soon
as
we
can
actually
find
funds
for
this
knitting.
It
was
a
little
bit
more
than
brian,
had
anticipated
and
missed
mayor
dan
polletko
was
always
also
informed
and
made
aware
informed,
made
aware
of
this,
and
I
worked
in
conjunction
with
mr
paletco,
letting
him
know
of
the
situation.
I
Get
this
funding
approved
it's
a
it's
an
emergency
situation
and
it's
an
extremely
hazardous
situation
there
off
of
edward
hines
and
ann
arbor
trail.
Then
we
have
the
e-course
creek.
I
I've
been
working
on
my
own
without
representing
the
city,
and
that
was
made
perfectly
clear,
getting
information
and
trying
to
see
what
we
can
do
to
finally
get
this
problem
solved.
It's
been
over
a
50-year
issue
and
again
we
came
up
well.
I
came
up
with
the
the
solution
and
all
we
have
to
do
is
get
congress
on
board
and
redo
the
restrictions
lower
the
thrust,
the
threshold
of
800
cfps
per
second
down,
which
would
take
care
of
the
funding
and
and
get
us
on
board
to
get
this
problem
solved.
I
So
mainly
what
we
have
to
do
is
get
congress
on
board.
We've
had
two
great
congressmen,
congressman
dingle
conyers
and
senator
carl
levin
as
well
50
years,
and
I
kind
of
find
it
a
little
bit
difficult
that
we
couldn't
get
this
problem
solved.
Yet
the
residents
are
the
ones
who
suffer
and
this
issue
lowering
the
restriction
guidelines
would
not
just
help
the
people
here
in
dearborn
heights
and
the
state
of
michigan.
It
would
help
people
throughout
the
country
being.
I
So
that's
one
thing
that
I'm
going
to
pursue
I've
already
contacted
and
have
been
speaking
with
people
from
the
army
corps
of
engineers
in
great
depth
the
last
year
again
making
it
perfectly
clear
that
I
am
not
representing
the
city.
I
am
doing
this
on
my
own,
along
with
the
vanborn
corridor.
I
did
again
not
representing
the
city
getting
this
information
on
my
own
and
trying
to
move
forward
and
getting
as
much
info
as
I
can.
I
I
We
need
now
to
work
in
conjunction
with
taylor,
city
council
and
their
ordinance,
so
we
can
both
be
on
the
same
page
and
our
ordinances
work
in
conjunction
with
taylor.
I
believe
we
have
a
180
days
up
until
june
to
get
this
ordinance
in
to
taylor
city
hall,
who
they
are
waiting
and
waiting
actually
waiting
for
that
would
be
phase
one
of
this
process
that
would
get
things
moving.
I
The
second
phase
would
be
lighting
and
design,
and
there
is
a
third
phase
which
off
the
top
of
my
head
right
now.
I
cannot
recall
what
that
is,
but
I
do
have
that
information.
I
I've
worked
worked
well
and
worked
with
very
various
city,
county
and
government
officials,
and
some
of
them
in
the
county
have
become
personal
friends
along
with
government
officials
which,
in
a
way
kind
of
makes
things
a
little
bit
easier
to
deal
with.
Let's
see,
excuse
me
bear
with
me.
I
Again,
I
have
earned
many
awards,
not
as
many
as
mr
bozzi,
but
I
do
have
some
of
my
own
from
the
vfw
post
345
in
redford.
It
was
a
citation
for
promoting
emeritus
americanism
and
merit
american
status
awards
back
then
it
was
when
the
iranian
hostages
were
free.
I
It
back
the
40
american
health
hostage
crisis
here
in
redford
michigan
or
there
in
redford
michigan.
There
was
a
hostage
that
lived
in
redford
and
when
they
were
released
there
was
a
huge
celebration
and
I
went
and
volunteered
many
days
prior
to
that
and
getting
that
things
done
that
thing
going
the
parade
the
celebration
there
at
the
vfw
post,
which
again
I
was
issued,
a
a
citation
for
we
have,
let's
see
I
like
I
did
say
I
had
an
award
from
the
united
states
marine
corps.
I
Okay,
there's
much
more,
but
I'm
going
to
cut
it
there
and
just
hope
and
pray
that
we
can
all
get
together,
work
together
and
move
this
city
forward.
I
again
do
think
that
I
could
be
the
perfect
candidate
that
would
bridge
the
gap
not
taking
anything
away
from
the
other
candidates.
I
have
respect
for
all
of
them.
The
many
city
council
people
have
become
very
close
personal
friends
throughout
the
years
and
that's
pretty
much
it,
but
it
I'll
be
a
dedicated
individual
that
will
work
very
hard
for
this
city.
Roll
up.
I
I
E
Thank
you,
mr
camilleri,
for
applying
for
the
position
again.
I
want
to
thank
you
and
really
I
have
no
questions
at
this
point.
I
yield
my
time
to
the
next
council
person.
B
Okay,
councilman
abdullah.
F
Hey,
thank
you
tony
for
doing
this
interview,
appreciate
it
and
appreciate
you
putting
your
time
in
for
the
city.
I
got
two
questions
for
you
number
one
is
what
are
some
of
the
positive
assets
that
you
feel
that
you'd
bring
to
the
city
as
a
mayor
and
then
also
as
a
potential
mayor.
What
are
the
challenges
that
you
think
you
would
have,
whether
it's
with
city
issues
or
with
your
own
personal
challenges
as
a
potential
mayor.
I
My
personal
challenges
as
mayor
would
be
probably
myself,
because
I
am
considered
a
perfectionist
and
I
don't
quit
until
everything
is
just
so.
I
know
I'll
have
a
number
of
great
people
behind
me.
There
will
be
things
to
learn.
There's
I'm
not
gonna.
You
know
shunned
that
and
put
that
to
the
side.
I'm
sure
everyone
when
they
first
became
city,
council,
people
or
elected
officials,
didn't
know
pretty
much
everything
it
took
time
to
learn.
I
So
I'm
not
going
to
sit
here
and
say
that
I
know
everything,
because
that
would
be
a
lie,
but
I
am
open
and
willing
to
learn
that
will
be
my
number
one
priority
for
safety
and
everything
in
this
city,
along
with
the
residents
and
business
owners.
The
schooling.
I
The
challenges,
like
I
said,
would
probably
be
myself
number
one
other
challenges
would
I
don't
think
they'd
be
as
as
big
a
challenge
as
they
are
now,
because
I
feel
again
not
taking
anything
away
from
the
other
candidates,
because
I
consider
all
of
you
and
all
of
them
close
personal
friends
throughout
the
years
that
we've
got
to
know
each
other
council
members,
but
under
the
circumstances,
the
way
things
are
going
that
we
can't
kind
of
agree
on
things,
and
I
don't
you
know-
want
to
go
down
that
road.
I
I'm
trying
to
think
of
the
exact
word
the
perfect.
I.
I
G
Thank
you,
madam
chair,
and
thank
you,
mr
camilleri,
for
applying
I'd
like
to
know
if
you're,
currently
working
and
if
not
when
the
last
time
was
you
worked
and
whether
you're
a
homeowner
or,
if
not,
where
you're
living.
I
Okay,
I
do
have
a
business
I'm
currently
employed.
I
do
have
my
own
business.
I
do
quite
a
bit
extensive
work
for
residents
in
the
city.
Most
of
it
is
gratis
help
out
many
many
people,
many
businesses-
I
am
not
a
homeowner.
I
live
at
25830
midway
here
in
dearborn
heights.
I
do
not
currently
own
a
home.
I
I'm
working
now
like
I
said
I
continued
to
work.
Always
I've
had
my
limo
service.
I've
had
my
landscaping
service.
Like
I
said,
I
had
government
contracts
issued
through
the
pentagon.
When
I
did
have
my
limousine
service.
I
brought
many
many
celebrities
in
for
back
then,
our
fourth
of
july
and
memorial
day,
parades
from
miss
michigan,
miss
miss
mrs
michigan,
miss
michigan,
misty,
tri,
grand
prix
courtesy.
I
I've
done
much
work
for
the
city.
There
are
many
people
in
the
city
that
work
for
the
city
that
you
know
me
a
lot
of
residents
in
my
community
here.
At
this
end,
not
so
many
in
the
south
end.
Yes,
I
am
in
the
south
end
quite
a
bit.
There
are
many
businesses
in
the
south
end.
That
know
me
many
residents
and
here
in
the
north
end
that
I
I
have
met
back
in
2017
when
I
was
a
write-in.
I
Quick
writing.
Candidate
for
mayor
walked
door-to-door
literally
from
joy,
road
to
vanborn,
from
beach
daily,
all
the
way
to
the
southfield,
freeway
service
drive
and
some
of
them.
I
do
still
keep
in
contact
with
today
that
I
did
take
notes
and
of
their
complaints.
What
they
liked,
what
they
didn't
like,
and
some
of
the
issues
still
to
this
day
four
years
later,
have
not
been
solved
for
them
from
trees
to
other
issues,
but,
like
I
said
I
will
be
there
mainly
for
the
residents
for
the
business
owners
for
the
community.
H
Yes,
thank
you.
I
have
a
question
what
well,
first
of
all
thank
you
for
applying
for
this
position
this
appointment.
What
are
your
thoughts
on
the
forensic
audience.
H
What
are
your
thoughts
on
the
forensic
audit?
That's
taking
place.
I
Only
knowing
what
I
know
truthfully,
I
really
think
that
it
was
a
big
waste
of
taxpayer
money
only
because
for
one
mr
paletko,
who,
god
rest
his
soul,
is
no
longer
here
was
a
cpa
along
with
being
a
cpa
for
ford
motor
company,
and
we
had,
I
believe,
regularly
audits
from
plant
moran
who
was
is
a
nationwide
well-known
company
who
was
not
going
to
jeopardize
their
name
for
pretty
much.
Anyone
who
regularly
did
our
audits.
I
I
It
is
city
property
that
city
trees,
on
city
property
are
destroying
not
just
the
sidewalks
and
the
streets
and
to
me
that's
alarming
and
disturbing
city
owns
the
sidewalks
that
he
should
pay
to
fix
those
sidewalks,
not
forcing
the
residents
to
pay
for
those
sidewalks,
especially
when
there
was
a
time
where
people
wanted
to
have
these
trees
taken
down
and
the
city
would
not
let
them
and.
D
I
Is
a
gentleman
who
I
met
four
years
ago
that
wanted
a
tree
down
and
to
this
day
that
tree
is
still
there
and
I'm?
I
am
still
working
with
that,
and
hopefully
I
can
get
that
that
tree
down.
I
believe
his
name
of
the
top
of
my
head
is
tom,
so
tom,
if
you're
watching
I
haven't
forgot
you,
I
I
stopped
by
periodically.
I
H
B
Thank
you.
Okay.
The
next
candidate
we
have
on
the
agenda
is
david
kneesick
jr
and
I
did
receive
an
email
from
mr
kenizek
this
morning
and
asked
he
asked
that
at
his
time
for
the
interview,
then
I
read
this
letter.
So
that's
what
I'm
going
to
do
now.
Okay,
it
says
dear
council
members
on
saturday
morning
we
lost
the
patriarch
of
our
family
when
my
grandfather,
dominic
consensa,
passed
away
at
age
92
years
of
age.
B
I
hope
you
might
permit
me
this
opportunity
to
share
just
how
thankful
and
blessed
I
am
to
have
a
man
of
such
strength,
courage
and
conviction
in
my
life
for
so
long
while
our
family
remains
awash
with
grief.
I
am
reminded
that
my
grandfather
taught
me
the
meeting
and
the
importance
of
family
loyalty,
integrity
and
courage.
B
B
While
I
understand
that
I
may
technically
be
allowed
to
remain
under
consideration,
even
without
an
interview,
I
also
believe
it
would
be
unfair
to
the
residents
of
our
city,
who
have
been
assured
of,
are
expecting
an
opportunity
to
listen
to
candidates.
Answer
questions
from
the
members
of
your
honorable
body.
B
It
would
have
been
an
honor
of
a
lifetime
to
serve
as
a
mayor
as
mayor
had
I
earned
the
council's
trust
and
support,
while
the
circumstances
don't
permit
such
consideration
at
this
time.
Please
know
that
I
remain
committed
to
working
with
and
serving
alongside
each
and
every
one
of
you
as
you
work
to
move
our
community
forward
with
regards
david
m
kinesic,
jr.
B
So
that's
what
we
received
today
from
mr
kinesic.
B
F
Just
just
a
quick
comment
just
want
to
pay
my
sincerest
condolences
to
the
kinesic
family,
david
kenizek
and
his
family,
and
I'm
sorry
for
their
loss.
That's
all
and,
and
unfortunately,
I'd
have
loved
to
have
had
the
opportunity
to
be
able
to
interview
him
today,
but
wish
him
and
his
family
the
best.
Thank
you.
E
E
Everyone
knows
that
david
kenisick
and
I
are
close
friends
been
knowing
the
man
most
of
his
life
and
knew
his
family
real
well,
and
he
just
wanted
to
to
you
know,
tell
everybody
that
he
was
sorry
that
he
couldn't
make
it
here
tonight
and
I
you
know
I've
already,
given
my
condolences
to
the
family
and
it's
just
another
sad
day
and
for
the
city
of
dearborn
heights
as
far
as
I'm
concerned.
E
So
that's
my
message
to
everyone
about
mr
kenizek,
our
county.
Commissioner,
thank.
G
Yes,
and
briefly,
madam
chair,
I
too
want
to
give
my
condolences
to
our
county
commissioner,
david
kenezik
regarding
the
loss
of
his
grandfather,
and
it
hoped
to
have
him
put
his
name
in,
but
it's
tumultuous
times
and
he's
a
young
man
and
I
know,
enrolled
in
an
mba
program
at
ross
school
of
business
at
the
university
of
michigan
ann
arbor.
B
Okay,
mayor
pro
tem,
sorry.
C
I
don't
have
the
hand
to
put
up
because
I'm
co-host.
I
also
would
like
to
offer
my
consult
condolences
to
the
casenza
and
the
music
family.
I
know
them
both
very
well
matter
of
fact
david's
dad
and
I
graduated
from
crestwood
high
school
together
and
his
aunt,
pat
I'm
sorry
aunt,
tina
and
uncle
pat,
who
were
twins
also
graduated
with
us
from
crosswood
high
school,
so
it
until
recently
I
didn't
realize
his
mom
was
a
casenza.
I
mean
it's.
C
A
H
B
I
would
also
like
to
share
my
thoughts
and
prayers
for
the
kinesic
and
consensual
family
for
the
the
loss
of
that's
how
92
years
old,
what
memories
they
might
must
have.
He
david
did
do
an
awesome
tribute
to
his
grandfather
and
what
stories
they
must
be
saying
saying
about
him
right
now
and
just
to
remember
those.
B
B
D
D
D
I'm
not
going
to
read
all
of
my
letter,
as
I
think
it's
lengthy,
but
I
would
like
to
read
a
part
of
my
letter
that
was
submitted
along
with
my
resume
as
chief
of
staff,
administrative
assistant
for
over
17
years.
There
is
no
one
more
qualified
to
continue
the
day-to-day
operations
of
the
city
until
november's
election.
D
D
D
I
promise
to
submit
a
balanced
budget
by
april
1st,
I
promise
to
work
with
guide
and
provide
institutional
knowledge
to
the
new
treasurer,
the
new
comptroller,
the
new
building
director,
the
new
police
chief,
the
new
dpw
director,
the
new
city
clerk
and
the
new
recreation
director,
all
of
whom
have
less
than
three
years
in
office.
I
promise
to
use
the
mmrma
and
mml
resources
through
relationships
that
I
have
made
over
17
years
to
get
a
new
corporation
council.
D
Onenet
can
work
for
the
city
and
be
seen
as
unbiased
by
both
the
city
council,
I'm
sorry
by
the
city,
council,
the
mayor
and
the
residents.
I
promise
to
work
with
the
city
council
and
not
hide
behind
any
audit.
I
move
for
transparency's
sake
on
both
sides
that,
through
open
study
session,
we
go
over
the
budget
and
ask
any
questions
that
you
or
other
residents
have
get
those
answers
answered
in
an
open
session
and
discuss
openly
what
your
reservations
are
or
what
questions
you
have.
D
Appointing
me
as
mayor
through
november
election
is
the
only
option
to
keep
dearborn
heights
dearborn
heights.
I'm
not
going
to
spend
a
lot
of
time
on
my
resume.
Everybody
has
it.
You
can
feel
free
to
answer
questions
or
excuse
me
I'll
answer
questions
you
ask
them.
I
do
want
to
clarify
one
thing
on
the
certifications.
A
couple
people
stated
that
they
were
confused
thinking.
I
was
a
certified
state
emergency
manager,
something
that
the
foreign
department
had
bob
and
crab
was
I'm
not
a
state
emergency
manager.
D
D
On
the
rest
of
my
time
I
like
to
spend
on
what
needs
to
happen
in
the
mayor's
office,
whether
you
select
me
or
whether
you
select
somebody
from
the
street.
There
are
items
that
are
in
the
works
in
the
e-course
creek
councilman
bassey
mentioned
that
for
14
years
we
have
gone
through
litigation
on
this
and
we
will
continue
so
far.
It
is
literally
taken
not
one
but
two
acts
of
congress
to
get
this
moved.
This
isn't
a
small
project.
This
isn't
something
that
can
be
done
just
through
volunteer
work.
D
We're
coming
at
this
on
all
angles
and
the
more
senior
council
members
know
that
we
need
participation
and
commitment
from
every
level
of
government,
including
the
presidency,
the
cso
we
have
been
working
on
getting
control
over
maintenance
of
one
of
the
cso
basins
for
over
eight
years.
This
is
a
fight
we've
had
with
wayne
county,
and
this
needs
to
be
addressed
and
needs
to
be
addressed
soon.
D
D
D
The
senior
centers
and
recreation
centers
need
to
be
addressed
and
programming
and
buildings
need
to
be
reworked
to
provide
healthy
and
safe
services
during
colbit.
Mbn
recreation
needs
to
be
reworked
to
identify
community
needs
and
provide
services
that
respond
to
the
city's
interests
and
not
those
in
the
1990s.
D
We
need
to
work
with
the
dbw
and
getting
an
inventory
system
and
also
purchase
roll
out
a
gps
system
for
tree
trimming,
water
main
breaks,
street
swifting
and
gate
repair.
We
need
to
complete
the
recreation
master
plan.
We
need
to
update
the
city's
master
plan.
We
need
to
continue
with
the
kobe
grants
for
the
city.
D
We
need
to
help
get
our
ordinance
officers
nationally
certified
right
now.
Our
crs
renewal
is
due.
That
is
very
important
when
it
comes
to
fema
and
flood
insurance
money.
We
have
a
new
building
director,
a
new
emergency
manager
and
a
new
wade
trim
engineer,
all
of
whom
have
never
worked
on
this
before.
D
D
B
E
Miss
lanslow
thank
you
for
applying
for
this
position.
Thank
you
for
your
hard
work,
especially
in
the
last
month,
or
so
I'm
sure
that
things
have
piled
on
you
quite
a
bit.
So
I
reach
out
to
you
and
thank
you
very
kindly,
but
again
I
have
no
questions
at
this
time
and
yield
my
time
to
the
next
council
person.
F
F
You
do
do
a
lot
in
the
city
and
you
are
very
knowledgeable
in
the
city
and
my
hat's
off
to
you.
You
know
for
that.
With
that
being
the
case,
what
are
what
are?
What
do
you
believe,
are
your
strongest
assets
as
far
as
by
being
a
potential
mayor,
and
what
do
you
think
you
will
be
your
biggest
challenges
by
being
a
potential
mayor.
D
Thank
you
all
right,
my
strengths.
I
am
the
most
knowledgeable.
By
far
I
have
the
most
lifelines
and
connections
to
other
communities,
various
level,
governments,
law
firms,
engineers
and
other
entities.
I've
seen
what
works
and
I've
seen
what
doesn't
work.
I've
also
seen
a
lot
of
things
that
can
be
done
with
the
cooperative
city
council
and
a
cooperative
corporation
council.
D
I
am
a
very
honest
person
and
I
defy
anybody
to
answer
or
I'm
sorry
question
that
I
always
say
what
needs
to
be
said.
I
never
shy
away
from
doing
what
is
right,
even
if
I
am
alone
in
a
decision,
I
will
never
take
a
bribe.
I
will
never
put
tiburn
heights
second
and
on
I
have
dedicated
my
life
to
the
city.
D
I
do
have
challenges
on
I,
with
all
due
respect
on
the
biggest
challenge
is
city
council,
I've
attended
almost
every
single
council
meeting
and
city
council
study
session
over
the
last
17
years,
and
I
think,
with
mayor
pollecko's
death.
I
think
most,
the
city
council
is
willing
to
drop
this
internal
fight
and
we
need
to
start
working
together.
We
need
to
start
trusting
each
other
because
it's
a
representative
of
city
and
I
think
in
most
of
your
heart
of
hearts-
you
don't
want
this.
D
Just
like
mayor
paletko
didn't
want
this
and
we
need
to
move
forward.
The
other
big
challenge
I
have
as
being
for
being
a
mayor
would
be
being
a
woman
and
it
seems
like
we've
gone
backwards.
Since
mayor
ruth
canfield
has
left
office.
There
are
a
lot
of
things
that
I
think
needs
to
be
addressed.
I'm
glad
the
community
and
cultural
relations
commission
is
up
and
running.
I
really
think
the
women's
commission
needs
to
be
up
and
running.
H
D
F
D
G
Thank
you
clerk
senia.
Thank
you,
christina
laszlo,
for
applying
how
many
years
have
you
worked
for
the
city
in
the
mayor's
office
and
worked
with
the
city
council
worked
with
city
budgets,
with
personnel
and
so
forth.
D
So
I
started
with
the
city
in
january
of
2004..
I've
worked
in
the
same
position,
albeit
a
different
title,
but
my
job
duties
haven't
changed.
They've
only
increased.
I
do
want
to
point
out.
There
was
a
typo
in
my
resume
when
I
worked
at
the
state
of
michigan
before
coming
to
the
city,
I
only
worked
from
january
2003
to
january
2004..
D
I
then
came
on
the
city
and
I
was
pretty
much
thrown
into
a
sink
or
swim
situation.
I
was
fortunate
enough
to
work
with
department
heads
back
then,
who
had
been
in
their
positions
for
close
to
20
years,
some
of
them
and
I
learned
a
great
deal,
and
I
really
believe
that
that
gives
me
a
better
knowledge
of
the
history
of
dearborn
heights.
On
than
most
people
have.
G
H
D
Yes,
I'd
be
happy
to
first
and
foremost
whatever
council
wants,
or
the
mayor
wants.
It
has
to
be
negotiated.
Anybody
that
any
attorney
can
tell
you
this
anybody,
that's
familiar
with
union
contracts
on
the
four
corners
of
the
document,
is
wages,
hours
and
working
conditions,
and
most
definitely
hours
are
one
of
them.
D
I
was
one
of
the
department
heads
that
was
affected
by
the
five
day
work
week
with
my
salary,
there's
been
other
on
concessions
that
myself
and
the
human
resource
director
elizabeth
sabota
perry
have
given
up
throughout
our
tenure
in
the
city.
I
I
do
think
a
five-day
work
week
can
work,
but
it
should
be
work.
D
It
has
to
be
reworked.
City
hall,
I
don't
believe,
should
be
open
from
eight
to
five
and
if
any
of
you
are
in
city
hall
pre-covert,
you
would
know
there's
very
little
foot
traffic.
I
do
believe
we
need
to
have
an
online
presence.
We
have
an
ever
growing
millennial
base.
That
would
rather
do
their
business
online
we're
moving
forward
with
that
by
getting
on
building
permits
online
having
our
inspectors
with
surface
pros,
they
are
working
on
fridays.
Our
ordinance
officers
are
working
on
fridays.
D
If
we
can
continue
this
and
cater
to
the
base,
that's
moving
in.
We
still
have
different
on
buildings
available
and
open
by
just
six
to
seven
days
a
week
again
this
is
pre-colvin,
hopefully
soon
post
coven,
but
city
hall
in
its
entirety,
to
be
open
five
days
a
week
to
the
public
wouldn't
serve
the
best
purpose
of
the
public
or
the
majority
of
the
residents.
D
B
C
Thank
you,
madam
clerk.
I'm
used
to
being
in
the
middle
of
the
alphabet,
not
last
I'm
sure
councilman
awesome
can
relate
to
that
one
being
a
w,
but
good
evening,
city
of
dearborn
heights
residents
and
honorable
council
members.
Dearborn
heights
is
my
home
and
I'm
invested
in
it.
I
went
to
elementary
school
middle
school
and
I'm
a
proud
graduate
of
crestwood
high
school
here.
C
C
The
city
needs
new
businesses
to
take
place
of
the
ones
we
have
lost
or
may
lose
because
of
the
financial
impact
of
the
corona
virus
which
has
had
on
them.
We
need
to
take
care
of
the
blight
of
vacant
business
buildings
and
fill
them
with
something
new
and
vibrant
for
our
community.
I
will
work
diligently
with
large
businesses
and
small
businesses
outside
of
our
community
in
hopes
that
they
too
will
make
darwin
heights
their
home.
We
also
need
to
tear
down
vacant
houses
that
allow
rodents
to
access
it.
C
Another
concern
of
mine
is
budget
retirement
accounts
and
their
security
and
working
to
rebuild
are
dilapidated
infrastructure.
Those
are
my
three
top
areas
that
need
to
be
reviewed
and
planned
for
in
the
future,
because
we
have
a
limited
amount
of
money.
We
need
to
have
a
master
plan
developed
that
includes
all
the
projects
that
will
need
to
be
done
with
them
being
completed
over
a
period
of
years,
instead
of
all
at
once.
We
need
to
look
for
and
apply
for,
every
grant
that
we
can
find.
C
We
have
to
make
sure
the
city's
retirement
funds
are
funded
and
mandated,
so
the
employees
that
have
worked
hard
for
the
city,
all
these
years,
will
have
retired
and
have
retired,
will
have
the
sense
of
security
they
deserve.
As
mayor,
I
will
be
accessible
to
residents
as
mayor
pro
tem.
I've
had
open
door
policies
a
lot.
You
know.
Current
projects
need
to
be
going
forward
because
they
have
installed
for
years
projects
such
as
the
van
borne
corridor,
flooding,
recreation
master
plan,
etc.
C
We
also
need
to
upgrade
our
parks,
recreation
buildings
and
complete
our
recreation
master
plan
that
we,
without
that
we
can't
apply
for
any
dnr
grants.
My
last
concern
that
I
mentioned
earlier,
but
not
definitely,
there
needs
to
be
more
marketing
for
our
city.
We
need
to
rebrand
the
city
and
bring
it
to
a
potential
new
new
residences,
and
businesses
will
want
to
come
to
by
working
on
all
these
tasks.
We
make
our
product
our
city
better
and
raise
it
to
a
new
level
in
which
everyone
will
want
to
live.
C
We
need
to
make
dearborn
heights
a
city
that
everyone
will
love
to
work
and
live
and
play
in
myself.
I'm
a
self-motivated
person
who
likes
who
takes
her
work
seriously.
I
experienced
a
very
successful
career
with
att,
where
I
began
as
an
operator
in
advance
to
a
project
manager.
At
one
point,
my
accounts
were
the
pepsi
frito-lay
bear
aspirin,
eastman,
codec
and
h
r
block.
I
was
the
main
contact
person
for
the
entire
state
of
michigan.
C
C
The
communication
skills
I
required
I
acquired
while
working
at
a
t,
have
made
it
easy
for
me
to
talk
to
just
about
anyone
and
handle
the
most
difficult
situations
as
they
re
they
arose
as
a
chief
union
steward
for
years,
I
became
very
good
at
negotiations.
I
have
experience
with
union
contracts
and
have
participated
in
the
grievance
process
after
I
retired
from
att,
I
was
the
general
contractor
for
a
large
construction
project
with
over
200
employees.
I
was
responsible
for
interviewing
hiring
negotiating
their
contracts
and
wages
and
as
well
as
terminating
them,
if
needed.
C
C
My
volunteerism
is
not
just
limited
to
the
seniors,
but
I
also
volunteer
at
many
of
our
local
churches,
such
as
saint
linus,
saint
francis
de
assisi,
our
savior,
our
savior
pncc,
and
the
now
close
saint
robert
bailor
mine,
which
was
the
first
church
I
volunteered
at
from
a
very
young
age.
As
a
member
of
the
plav,
the
stood
american
legion
and
a
lifetime
member
of
leskawa
vfw,
I
volunteered
or
participated
in
their
fundraising
events
for
years.
C
I
am
a
lifetime
resident
of
dearborn
heights,
since
I
was
an
infant
and
I'm
very
proud
of
our
community.
I
want
dearborn
heights
to
be
the
city
of
the
city
with
a
future
that
flourishes
with
new
businesses
and
residents
each
passing
year
being
just
as
proud
as
I
am
to
be
a
resident.
Thank
you
for
considering
me
for
the
position
of
the
mayor
of
dearborn
heights.
B
Okay,
thank
you.
Councilman
muscat,.
E
Thank
you,
council
pro
tem
council
chair
pro
tem
malinowski
maxwell.
Thank
you
for
applying.
I'm
glad
to
see
everything
is
good
with
you
and
again
I
don't
have
any
questions.
I
think
everybody's
pretty
much
done
a
pretty
good
job
promoting
themselves
and
telling
us
what
they
would
do
for
the
city.
So
again,
no
questions
and
thank
you
and
have
a
good
day.
F
Thank
you
mayor
pro
tem
and
council
chair
denise.
It's
been
great
working
with
you
the
last
few
years
and
just
had
a
couple
questions
for
you.
F
C
The
assets
is,
I'm
proactive,
I
like
to
get
things
done
ahead
of
time
or
get
ahead
of
the
game.
I
like
to
plan
ahead.
If
I
see
something
starting
to
wear
down
like
our
infrastructure,
I
would
have
started
saving
years
ago,
so
we
would
have
the
money
at
the
time
it
needs
to
be
repaired.
C
C
I
also
have
interviewed
all
the
directors.
I
know
where
the
deficits
are.
I
know
what
the
issues
are
and
I'm
aware
of
their
concerns.
As
far
as
challenges
of
mayor,
I'm
a
workaholic
I've
been
at
city
hall
every
day,
a
lot
of
times
until
after
five,
a
challenge
would
be
also
too.
C
Unfortunately,
the
day
after
the
mayor
died,
I
had
a
meeting
with
our
madam
clerk
chief
of
staff
and
me
were
going
to
meet
and
see
how
we
could
streamline
the
city
council
meetings
and
not
make
them
look.
So
chaotic
and
that's
my
challenge
is
to
try
and
bring
city
council,
the
directors
and
the
mayor
together
to
work
together
for
the
city.
We
all
love.
G
Thank
you,
miss
clerk
lincenia
and
thank
you
mayor
pro
tem
council,
chair,
denise,
malinowski
maxwell
for
applying.
G
C
Yes,
absolutely,
I
am
I've
been
signing
checks.
I
signed
resolutions
that
were
waiting
for
the
mayor
to
sign
reviewed
emails.
He
gets
a
lot
of
emails
and
took
care
of
the
day-to-day
operations
that
involve
the
mayor.
Like
I
said,
even
though
the
mayor
is
gone,
the
city
is
still
running,
our
streets
are
still
getting
sweeped,
our
snow
is
still
getting
plowed,
our
roads
are
being
repaired,
the
water
meters
are
being
read
and
repaired
people
are
able
to
pay
their
water
bills
and
their
taxes,
not
not
much
has
stopped.
There's
not
I've
been
taking.
H
C
We're
closed
on
a
wednesday
and
open
monday,
tuesday,
thursday
friday,
because
friday
seems
to
be
the
big
day
that
everybody
wants
to
get
permits
for
the
weekend
when
they're,
building
something
and
we're
shut
down
and
a
lot
of
people
don't
realize
that
until
they
need
it,
the
general
public
is
not
educated.
As
far
as
that
goes
now,
our
contractors
are,
but
the
general
public's
not.
B
Thank
you,
okay.
I
think
that
concludes
the
interviews
for
this
evening.
I'd
like
to
thank
all
to
the
can
thank
you
to
the
candidates
for
presenting
this
evening
and
for
all
who
have
joined
us
here.
The
may
oriole
appointment,
which
is
on
the
agenda
for
tomorrow,
will
be
voted
on.
Okay,
please
feel
free
to
contact
your
council
members
and
give
them
your
input
and
either
via
email
or
phone.
Their
numbers
are
on
their
the
council
page
on
the
website.
B
They'd
love
to
hear
your
thoughts
and
your
you
know
your
any
questions
or
thoughts,
and
you
will
also
have
a
chance.
Everyone
will
have
a
chance
to
comment
tomorrow
during
the
comments
on
the
agenda
items
which
is
right
at
the
beginning
of
the
meeting
tomorrow.
