A
Beginning
one
in
2013
residents
may
see
snow
plows
on
the
no
parking
side
of
residential
streets
during
snowstorms.
Residents
are
encouraged
to
park
off
residential
streets
during
this
time,
so
plows
can
more
effectively
make
a
single
pass.
This
will
provide
for
easier
travel
on
residential
streets
during
a
snowfall,
reduce
snowpack
and
finish
plowing
operations
sooner
wing
plows
can
clear
streets.
In
one-third
less
time.
However,
no
parking
will
be
enforced
on
residential
streets
at
the
end
of
a
snow
event
until
after
they
have
been
plowed
curb
to
curb
the
only
exceptions
are
the
streets
posted
odd.

and

an
alley.
Residents
are
encouraged
to
decide
now
on
where
to
go
before
the
snow
residents
are
expected
to
follow
parking
restrictions
during
snow
plowing
operations,
warnings
will
be
issued
by
police
on
the
first
storm.
Only
after
that
owners
will
be
ticketed,
and/or
told
the
cost
of
a
ticket
is
$35.
A
Snow
routes
are
given
first
party
for
salt
application
and
snow
removal.
Snow
routes
are
normally
plowed
when
snow
accumulation
exceeds
1
inch.
Remember
when
emergency
snow
and
ice
removal
operations
are
in
progress,
you
may
not
park
your
vehicle
on
a
snow
route,
snow
districts
or
residential
streets.
A
single
plow
pass
may
be
made
on
residential
streets
during
snow
events
to
keep
residential
streets.
Passable
residents
are
encouraged
to
park
off
residential
streets
during
this
time
after
the
snowfall
ends.
Residential
streets
may
be
plowed
full,
with
curb
to
curb.
At
that
time,
parking
will
be
restricted.
A
Alleys
that
provide
primary
access
to
residential
properties
will
be
cleared
prior
to
the
end
of
a
snowfall
to
facilitate
all
street
parking
during
snow
removal
operations
in
residential
areas.
Bechtle

residents
may
experience
a
short
delay
in
service
to
help
ensure
that
sidewalks
are
cleared
for
pedestrian
use.
The
City
of
Des
Moines
requires
residents
to
remove
the
snow
and
ice
from
sidewalks
within
48
hours
following
the
end
of
a
snowfall.
A
Property
owners
who
do
not
comply
are
subject
to
a
fifty-dollar
administrative
penalty
for
a
first
offense
and
larger
penalties
for
repeat
violations.
Keep
in
mind
that

property
owners
who
