A
Hello,
I'm
Rosemarie
Scotland's
and
Wayne
Community
Action
Agency.
We
are
located
at
1618
sixth
Avenue
and
serve
residents
of
the
City
of
Des
Moines
as
hard
as
it
is
to
believe
with
all
this
blistering
summer,
weather
follow
be
here
soon.
This
means
Des
Moines.
Community
action
is
preparing
for
fall
and
winter
programs.
The
featured
fall
program
this
month
is
LIHEAP
or
low-income
heating
assistance
program.
Liheap
applications
are
now
being
completed
for
some
of
our
city's
residents.
If
you
received
a
letter
from
us,
please
follow
the
instructions
on
the
letter
and
call
with
any
questions.
A
You
have.
Likee
provides
a
one-time
utility
payment
to
approve
households
as
well
as
moratorium,
protection
against
disconnection
November
first
through
April.
First,
you
do
not
need
to
have
a
disconnect
notice
or
default
of
payment
arrangement
for
this
program.
This
program
is
designed
to
help
alleviate
the
financial
stress
of
higher
monthly
winter
bills
for
all
other
residents,
application
for
life
will
begin
November
first,
however,
if
you
have
someone
in
your
household
that
is
elderly
or
disabled,
you
can
come
in
and
apply
starting
in
October.
A
We
will
be
scheduling,
appointments
for
October
the
end
of
September
or
come
into
our
offices
after
October.
First
cooler,
temperatures
are
ahead.
So
if
your
furnace
isn't
functioning
properly
and
you
own
your
own
home
contact
us
for
details
on
our
furnace
repair
program
for
likeif
eligible
households
once
approved,
we
will
send
a
contractor
to
your
home
to
determine
repair
options.
If
the
furnace
is
considered
dangerous
or
is
no
longer
repairable,
the
furnace
may
even
be
replaced
by
Des
Moines
community
action.
A
We
still
offer
crisis
use
utility
assistance
for
households
facing
disconnection
currently
disconnected
or
seeking
assistance
to
establish
services.
Assistance
is
offered
Monday
through
Wednesday
when
funding
is
available.
Income
requirements
do
apply
for
this
program
as
well.
So
please
call
us
with
any
questions.
There
are
income
limits
and
requirements
for
each
of
the

Community
action
is
here
to
help
our
community.
There
are
several
seasonal
programs
we
offer,
but
we
also
have
year-round
programs
that
are
available
donated
bread,
food
pantry
and
personal
pantry,
just
to
name
a
few
to
accommodate
working
families.
We
also
have
extended
office
hours
on
Tuesdays
and
Thursdays.
Have
you
been
looking
for
a
way
to
reach
out
to
your
community
but
you're
not
really
sure
how
to
get
started
des
moines
community
action
might
be
able
to
help
you
get
connected,
whether
you
can
donate
time
money
or
your
unique
talents.
A
There's
a
part
we
all
can
play
and
reaching
out
to
those
around
us
holiday
program.
Preparation
has
already
begun
and
we
could
use
your
help,
making
the
season
jolly
for
thousands
in
our
city.
There
are
so
many
things
we
can
accomplish
together
and
if
you
would
like
to
be
a
part
of
our
community
team,
we
invite
you
