Moines
Community
Action
Agency.
We
are
located
at
1618
sixth
Avenue
and
serve
residents
of
the
City
of
Des
Moines.
With
dropping
temperatures
come
high
heating
costs.
We
can
help
alleviate
the
stress
caused
by
higher
winter
bills.
Liheap
are
low-income.
Heating
assistance
program
provides
a
one-time
utility
payment
to
approved
households,
as
well
as
moratorium,
protection
against
disconnection
November
first
through
April.
First,
you
don't
need
to
have
a
disconnect
notice
or
default
a
payment
arrangement
to
apply
for
this
program,
so
call
today
for
an
appointment
with
these
chilly
temperatures.

It's
important
to
maintain
your
furnace,
though
we
do
not
help
with
general
maintenance
of
furnaces.
We
do
have
a
program
that
can
help
with
furnace
repair
and
sometimes
even
replacement
for
those
that
are
like
Eve
eligible
are
listed
on
polk
county
assessor's
is
a
homeowner
and
a
City
of
Des
Moines
resident
and
complete
an
application
once
approved.
We
will
send
a
contractor
to
your
home
to
determine
repair
options,
call
us
for
more
details
and
eligibility
on

to
apply

community
action
is

to
help
our
community
to
accommodate
working
families.

also
have
extended
office
hours
on
Tuesdays
and
Thursdays.
We
still
offer
crisis
utility
assistance
for
households
facing
disconnection
currently
disconnected
or
seeking
assistance
to
establish
new
service
assistants
has
offered
Monday
through
Wednesday.

we
have
the
funding
available.
There
are
several
seasonal
programs
we
offer,
as
well
as
the
year-round
programs
that
are
available,
donated
bread,
personal
pantry
and
food
pantry.

food,
pantry,

Our
food
pantry
is
part
of
the
DMark
local
pantries
and
is
open
monday.
Through
friday,
11
a.m.

12,
45
p.m.
and
then
again,

p.m.
to
close.

requirements
for
each
of
the
programs
I
mentioned
today.
