The Des Moines Civil & Human Rights Commission launched the Breaking Bread, Building Bridges initiative to see what happens when people take the time to converse with one another despite their differences.

While these dinner conversations took place before social distancing was necessary, we can learn from these experiences to help us better connect with our neighbors around us.
