Plant
staff
are
committed
to
the
safe
regulatory
compliant,
economical
and
aesthetic
operations
of
the
treatment
facility
and
fostering
the
public's
continued
enjoyment
and
recreation
and
uses
of
the
South
Platte
River.
This
River
is
a
thriving
aquatic
ecosystem,
a
focal
point
of
recreational
activities
and
a
source
of
drinking
water
for
many
downstream
communities.
A
Over
the
years
there
have
been
a
number
of
larger
construction
projects
to
improve
the
plants,
design
capacity,
as
well
as
a
treatment
process
between
1990
and
1992.
The
phase
1a
expansion
project
increased
the
plant's
capacity
to
32
million
gallons
per
day
and
included
the
addition,
the
more
advanced
treatment
technology
to
address
increased
regulations.

The
current
structure
of
the
plant
has
the
plat
director
overseeing
five
different
divisions,
business
services,
engineering,
maintenance,
environmental
compliance,
laboratory
services
and
treatment
under
supervisor
committee
leadership.
The
Littleton
Englewood
wastewater
treatment
plant
has
become
a
trailblazer
in
the
wastewater
industry.
A
The
plant's
outstanding
programs
have
earned
numerous
awards
and
recognitions
from
various
national
organizations
such
as
the
Environmental
Protection
Agency,
the
National
Association
of
clean
water
agencies
and
the
National
biosolids
partnership,
as
well
as
from
regional
organizations
such
as
the
Rocky
Mountain
water,
environment,
Association
and
the
Colorado
Environment,
a
Leadership
Program.
Our
outstanding
staff
have
also
been
awarded
with
various
national
and
regional
merits,
awards
and
achievements
from
organizations
such
as
a
water
environment,
Federation,
the
American
Water
Works
Association,
and
the
Rocky
Mountain
Water
environment
Association.
A
Over
the
past
40
years,
the
Littleton
Englewood,
a
wastewater
treatment
plant
has
encountered
countless
changes
to
its
processes,
facilities
and
organizational
structure.
These
changes
have
inspired
and
will
continue
to
inspire
an
outstanding
staff
working
on
outstanding
programs
at
an
outstanding
facility.

In
the
coming
years,
the
little
Tony
would
plant
will
focus
on
harnessing
additional
resources
through
its
treatment
process,
such
as
power
generation
from
methane,
gas,
heat
recovery,
phosphorus
recovery
and
solar
power.
These
changes
will
be
tackled
while
still
staying
true
to
the
Littleton
Englewood
values.
