survey
the
workforce
and
get
a
sense
of
what
is
working

are
there

things,

addition
to
just
strictly
compensation
that
what

employee
experience

strategy

pigging
back

employee

saw
a
recent
article
here
within

last
couple
weeks
that
tied
a
working

system

computer,
working
to
employ
happiness,
absolutely
right

so

even

right
infrastructure
and
being
able
to
support
those
infrastructures
and
understanding
what
are
the
important
part
for
city
employees.

looks
like

you've
got
some
great
info
to

actually

Tim
has
really,
along
with
our
hr
director,
led
the
way
in
a
really
comprehensive
look
at
benefits:
organizational
culture.
We've
invested
heavily
in
supervisory
training
this
year
to
really
help
our
employees
still
known
matter
and
included,
and
so
we've
really,
you
know,
we've
revamped
our
mission,
vision,
values.
But
tim.
Can
you
talk
to
some
of
the
benefits,
work
and
exit
interviews?
We've
been
doing.

started
about
four
months

exit
interviews

we're
really
getting
trying
to
get
a
sense
of
are
people
leaving

work-life
balance

we're
analyzing
that
data
now
kind
of
getting
that
put
together?

the
other
thing
that
we've
done
is
gone
back
to
the
market
for
health
care,
health
insurance
and
planned
to
take
a
new
health
care
package
to
council,
hopefully
with
the
ability
to
meet
an
employee
need,
that's
been
expressed
through
our
satisfaction
surveys
of
more
choice,
but
obviously
it's
going
to
be
a
tough
budget
year.
So
we
don't
know
if
we
can.

afford
that,
but
those
are
some
of
the
things
that
we've
been
working
on
with
regard
to
making
the
employee
benefits
and
experience
better,
oh
and
orientation,
big,
big,
revamp
of
our
employee
orientation.
We
heard
in
our
focus
groups
with
employees
that
our
onboarding
is
less
than
great,
so
we've
really
restructured
that
as
well.

That's
great
to
hear
one
other
strategy
that
a
lot
of
entities
are
using
right
now,
in
addition
to
exit
interviews,
are
stay
interviews
with
key
staff,
that's
kind
of
an
alternative
or
a
deeper
dive
than
a
than
an
employee
survey.
But
again
that
takes
a
lot
of
staff
resources
to
to
do
and
if
hr
is
short
staffed
themselves.
That's
a
big
lift.

and
those
were
like

specifically

these
ones
without
diving
too
deep
into
what
we
didn't
include
because
they
were
funded
this
year.
But
the
question
is:
where
is
the
funding
next
year
going
to
come
from,

it
sounds
like
that
was
kind
of
the
discussions
that
you
were
having
last
night
as
well
on
a
wider
scale.

don't

to

dartmouth
bridge
is
fully
funded,
but
we've
had
a
lot
of
back
and
forth
with
excel
energy
who

keep
moving

goalposts
with
regard
to
putting
the
power
lines
in
that
area,
running
them
underground.

we
are
using
part
of
our
one
percent
or
underground
utilities
there,
and
we
had
a
conduit
that
they
wanted.
Then
they
changed
to
a
cage
around
the
conduit
and
now
it's
the
attaching
mechanisms
of
the
cage
to
the
underside
of
the
bridge.
So
it's
just
been
an
ongoing
challenge
to
get
excel
to
move
as
fast
as
we'd
like
to
on
that
project.

knowing
we've
got
those
funding
sources
and
I
think
this
kind
of
gets
into
this
part
of
the
section
on
ways
to
better
understand
when
we
just
saw
this,
it's
like.
How
are
we
funding
this?
Knowing
that
you
know
here's
a
list
that
we're
responsible
to
and
even
considering
a
cap
on,
the
total
project
that
can
come
out
of
that
capital
project
fund
to
say,
hey.
This
is
above
the
cap.

to
be
able
to
find
this
dedicated
resourcing,
for
I
think,
even
though
it
may
not
necessarily
make
a
difference
to
our
recommendation,
but
those
kind
of
things
that
manchester's
just
talking
about,

are
good

never
know
that
excel's,
you
know
holding
up
or
arguing
about
where
they're
gonna
put,
you

put
their
equipment
so
that
that
is
good
information
well
and
the
recommendation

coming

important
capital
project,
but
it's
not
appropriate
for
this
budget.

focused
on
what
they're
doing
this
year
and
in
past
cycles,
when
I

we
expressed
the
desire
to
see
councils
focus
on
more.

discuss
youth
engagement,

be
part

that
discussion

platform

well

They've
seen

they
mentioned

report

doubling

requests

majority

those
come
from
parks,
rec,
library,
golf,
but
yeah.
They
moved
to
asana
from
service
desk
about
six
months
ago.

that
was
kind
of
the

comment

it's
just
managing
the
requests
that
they're
getting
in
you

all
the
departments
and
asana
is
a
great
system
to
be
able

it
works
stuff
through
a
lot
easier
than
less
falling
through

cracks.

large
role

centralization
and
coordination,

grant

writer

ask
and
start
to
create
a
database
of
and
then
the
subject
matter.

fill
out
the
sections

they're
subject
matter.

comment
I
would

about
this
section
is
that
you
know
a
0.5
fte
grant
writer
isn't
going
to
be
able
to.
I
mean
that's
going
to
be
very
limiting
again.
My
organization
has
a
budget
about
half
the
size
of
inglewoods
and
we
employ
two
full-time
grant
writers
and
that's
barely
enough
and
just
noting
the
complexity
of
federal
and
state
proposals
that
I'm
assuming
the
city
primarily
submits.
That's
a
that's,
a
big
lift
and
really
a
0.5
you're
talking
about
a
contracted
grant
writer.

for
the
grant
writer,
so
the
facilitation,
the
the
paperwork,
the
submissions
in
and
out
being
able
to
track
it,
starting
with
the
blank
questionnaire
filling
out
everything
that
they
can
fill
out,
that
the
subject
matter
expert
doesn't
need
to
be
touched,
and
then
that
way,
it
limits
the
amount
of
work
on
the
subject
matter
expert,
so
thinking
more
of
a
support
role
rather
than
a
full-on
grant
writing
role.

intention

our
conversations
around

citizens

hate
taxes,

government
to
provide
certain
services
and
those
taxes
are
vital.

out
that
we're
potentially
treading
a
pretty
fine
legal
line
here,
because
council
has
already
sent
these
items
to
the
ballot
they
passed
on.
Second
reading
last
night
sitting
in
a
public
meeting
and
making
a
recommendation
to
pass
or
fail
would
be
potentially
not
necessarily
but
potentially
viewed
as
utilizing
government
resources
to
advocate
for
a
ballot
issue.
That's
on
the
ballot,
so
I
would
urge
some
caution
there
on
that.

citizens
to
understand
the

funding
deficits
and
the
needs
for
it
and
using
that
more
in

future,
because
it
hasn't
been
utilized
that

increases
