From YouTube: Eat, Explore, Enjoy: The Filling Station
Description
In the latest edition of Eat, Explore, Enjoy, we pop into The Filling Station for a tune up, but not the kind you might be thinking. Tucked behind the Gothic Theatre on Acoma Street, owners, Andy and Lisa Hawker, set out to create a place with a sense of community under the motto “live full,” where you can catch up with friends, sip on craft beer, host a holiday party and enjoy live music. Andy took his passion for cars and turned it into The Filling Station’s theme with custom tire light fixtures, gas pump beer taps, vintage road signs and a map of historic Route 66 as the bar top. #eatexploreenjoy

We've
created
this
place
with
the
idea
of
creating
community,
we
need
community,
we
need
to
be
around
each
other.
We
need
to
live
full,
and
part
of
that
is
is
to
have
a
place
where
you
can
just
get
to
know
each
other
enjoy
a
good
drink,
listen
to
good
music,
whatever
it
is.
The
only
way
we
can
really
live
full
is
to
be
with
other
people.
Definitely.

One
of
the
reasons
we
chose
this
particular
site
was
the
gothic
theater
being
right
there
and
when
we
were,
when
we
were
doing
the
build
out,
we
purposely
put
in
a
gate
on
the
alley
to
the
gothic
theater,
so
that
we
could
encourage
people
to
come
here.
You
know
get
some
beers
before
the
show
go
to
the
show
that
kind
of
thing.

Have
geeks
who
drink
trivia
on
thursday
nights,
and
then
we
have
live
music
on
fridays
and
saturdays.
