It
all
starts
as
the
union
avenue
and
mcclellan
reservoir
pump
stations
deliver
raw
water
to
the
treatment
plant.
The
facility
is
capable
of
treating
28
million
gallons
of
clean
water
each
day.
The
treatment
process
begins
by
removing
any
unwanted
sediment
as
the
waters
mix,
heavy
particles
and
sediment
sink
to
the
bottom.
The
water
then
flows
through
three
feet
of
carbon
filters.
This
process
works
much
like
a
giant
filtering
water
pitcher,
then
using
uv
technology.
A
The
water
flows
through
pipes
that
blast
uv
rays
into
the
water
killing
any
microorganisms
that
may
be
left
over
once
the
water
is
clean
and
safe
to
drink.
Large
pumps
distribute
fresh
water
to
homes
and
businesses
across
the
city,
while
inglewood's
water
is
clean.
The
treatment
plant
requires
ongoing
investments
and
upgrades
to
its
complex
systems.
