Our new series ‘Frank on Main’ introduces Englewood residents to our hard-working street crews and gives us a behind the scenes glimpse into how the roads in your neighborhood are repaired. In our first episode, Public Works Construction Manager Frank Main and Streets Equipment Operator Jimmie DiPiazza takes us through the ‘slurry sealing’ process, which prepares roads for long-lasting repaving.

The following episodes will explain the timeline the City lays out for different neighborhood repairs as well as the seasonal work that takes place throughout the year.

Please note that the first episode of Frank on Main was shot before the COVID-19 outbreak. Crews are now working in accordance with county guidelines that require masks and social distancing in order to keep employees and residents safe and healthy.

Hi I'm Frank me construction manager for the city of Englewood I'm here today to bring you my new show drumroll, please Frank on me. Yes, I'm Frank maintenance, you don't have the Main Street, Frank, yeah, yeah, I, know but I'm not about to change my name to Frank Broadway during each episode of Frank on main I'll walk you through construction prices and update you on everything. Welcome to the first episode of Frank on Main with me today, I got Jimmy D Piazza Jimmy is the street superintendent for the city of Englewood, Jimmy's gonna, explain to us how we prep our streets for the upcoming projects at slurry field, 2020 that we have on the books this year to take place, so Jimmy will go over with us how we pre prep for the contract that will be coming up. Frank so, first and foremost, we set up our traffic controller. We go over our traffic control plan before we even head out to the job site. We go over every detail as far as our Jaffa controller goes in this situation. Here, we're gonna go down to one lane, so I've got two flaggers on each end. One will be stopping traffic. See the flaggers have their hard hats, they're passed on and they're properly set up with the proper equipment to do the traffic control on the streets.
