So
they
were
kind
of
just
talking
about
the
farm
and
train
in
the
summer
and
we're
able
to
track
now
where
people
are
coming
from
we're
getting
people.
It's
a
big
tourist
attraction
and
I
actually
had
friends
coming
to
visit
from
out
of
state,
and
I
was
like
okay.
What
should
we
do?
What
touristy
things
farm
and
train
was
like
number
three
on
the
list
on
this
one
website
I
found
I'm
like
that's
cool,
that
is
cool
yeah
and
then
the
denver
zoo
and
the
normal
stuff.
But
I

hiring
an

That's
we've
met
in
inglewood
to
work
in
our
parks
department,
we're
trying
to
jump
through
hoops
because
of
federal
law,
of
needing
two
forms
of
id
and
direct
deposit
and
address
and
all
those
things,
and
so,
if
you
could
find
out,
maybe
who's
overseeing
that
program
and
just
shoot
me.

If
we
go
back
to
the
2019
and
2018
reports-
and
I
I
I
think
our
traffic
is
lower
than
it
was
back
in
2018
2018,
but
I
don't
think
it's
a
third
of
what
it
was
back
then
so
you
can
see
those
17
000-ish
physical,
the
fiscal
visitors
numbers.
So
we'll
just
keep
an
eye
on
that
over
the
next
couple
months
and
see
how
that
shakes
out.
It's
possible
that
what
we're
seeing
partly
is
the
different
systems
for
counting
or
grabbing
very,
very
different
numbers.

I'm
confident
that
the
new
system
is
going
to
be
the
more
accurate
one
in
the
long
run.
It's
it's
a
pretty
pretty
fancy
sensor
system,
it's
really
nice!
It
gives
us
a
breakdown
of
traffic
by
you
know,
day
the
week
by
hour,
so
we
can
get
some
we
could.
We
could
do
some
good
statistical
analysis
on
stuff
if
we
ever
want
to
look
at.
Oh
hey,
you
know
on
fridays,
at
five
o'clock
or
up
until
five
o'clock.
It's
super
super
busy,
so
maybe
there's
justification
in
extending
the
hours
there.

The
digital
circulation
numbers
went
down
to
touch
compared
to
the
last
few
months,
they're
they're
still
outpacing,
where
they
were
in
2020,
but
not
by
as
wide
a
margin
as
they
have
previously,
not
sure,
if
that's
reflective
of
just
us
needing
to
put
a
little
more
promotional
way
behind
them
or
it
might
just
be
to
create
patterns
of
behavior
around
summer.
Coming
to
an
end,
let's
see
what
else
our
internet,
computer
usage
is
just
staying
high,
we're
definitely
busy
over
on
that
part
of
the
library
volunteers.

september
was
the
month
that
we
brought
story
times
back
in
person
and
so
we're
able
to
get
a
little
bit
better
data
on
people
who
are
actually
attending
story
times,
rather
than
the
ones
who
are
watching
on
facebook,
that
those
numbers
were
really
hard
to
try
to
pin
down,
and
we
were
still
doing
story
times
in
the
park
as
late
into
the
season
as
we
could
and
those
have
come
to
an
end.

we
don't

time

we're

I
have
not
seen
yet
us
hit
capacity
where
people
have
had
to
make
reservations.
Although
we
just
tonight
I
was
looking
around
to
see
we're
close
we've
got
about
20
computers
available
in
public
and
I
think
we
had
17
in
use.
So
you
know
they're
steadily
used
but
yeah
right
now,
a
couple
months
back.
We
changed
the
way
we
assigned
time
on
computers
so
that
you
know
used
to
be
like
you'd
have
a
two-hour
strict
limit.

Then
it
would
kick
you
off
and
then
during
the
pandemic,
when
we
had
to
produce
them
or
were
still
during
the
panic,
but
at
the
peak
of
the
pandemic,
when
we
had
to
reduce
the
computer
numbers,
we
only
had
10
of
them
available.
We
dropped
that
down
to
one
hour
sessions,
and
then
you
know
I
mentioned
that
previously.
So
now
we're
at
two
hours
and
as
long
as
nobody's
waiting
people
can
stay
on,
and
so
we
have
some
people
who
are
on
the
computers
for
five
six
hours
of
a
stretch.

Some
some
people
will
basically
show
up
right
when
we
open
and
be
here
all
day.
So
if
we
hit
capacity,
what
happens
then
is
that
people
will
have
to
set
up
a
reservation
and
then
it'll
look.
The
system
knows
who
logged
on
earliest
and
it'll
prioritize
that
as
the
first
person
to
kind
of
give,
the
heads
up
to
say,
hey
you're,
not
going
to
extend
your
time
anymore,
somebody's
waiting
on
the
computer,
but
it
hasn't.
If
it's
happened,
it's
been
very
infrequent
so
far.

Hearing
really
good
things
from
the
ones
who
are
using
it.

know
that
it's
largely
being
used
right
now
for
after
school
sessions
and
for
programs
and
kind
of
just
a
general
hangout
space,
so,
for
example,
they're
they're
in
there
tonight
a
handful
of
them
doing
the
tuesday
afternoon
team
programs.

who's
who's
spending
time
in
that
space
and
and
given
the
nature
of
this
being
its
own
room
in
the
library
we're
trying
to
be
a
little
extra
cautious
about
it.
I
think
that
you
know
I
was
talking
to
kimberly
about
this
not
long
ago,
and
I
think
the
sense
was
that,
as
we
get
more
used
to
us,
we
might
open
it
up
a
bit
more.

Hasn't
been
an
issue
here
at
englewood,
but
I
know
that
at
other
libraries,
I've
seen
just
just
adults
will
just
kind
of
grab
whatever
computer
is
available
and
if
it's,
the
ones
in
the
teen
space
they'll
go
for
the
ones
in
the
teen
space.
I
I
have
worked
in
libraries
where
there
have
been
some
creepy
people
hanging
out
the
team
space
who
really
really
shouldn't
have
been-
and
I
think
that's
the
fear
here
and
then
we
will
be
a
situation
we
want
to
avoid
so
yeah.

Seeing
some
hesitation
from
some
families
and
coming
back
for
some
of
those
in-person
story
times,
so
that's
something
we're
just
gonna,
keep
watching
and
see.
You
know
how
that
goes
over
the
course
of
the
winter
for
the
fall
and
winter.
Otherwise,
when
it
came
to
like
our
numbers
over
the
summer,
we
felt
pretty.

That
prlg

started
in
advance
the
rest
of
the
producing
the
parks,
recreation,
library
and
golf
department
had
started
doing
in
advance
of
the
rest
of
the
city.
So
if
you
come
visit,
the
library
all
staff,
including
security
contractors,
will
be
wearing
masks,
but
we're
not
asking
members
of
the
general
public
to
wear
masks.

All
right
been
a
busy
couple
of
months
on
the
outreach
front
you
know.
Last
month
we
did
the
celebrate
englewood
event
in
august
and
in
september
was
the
englewood
block
party.
I
don't
know,
I
think
we
saw
a
few
familiar
faces
come
through.
It
was
a
great
chance
to
talk
to
just
a
really
huge
number
of
citizens
who
came
for
that.

See
one
of
the
big
themes
of
the
month,
though,
was
staff
turnover
and
I'm
sure,
you've
seen
stories
of
every
business
everywhere,
lamenting
the
difficulty
in
finding
workers
and
retaining
workers,
and
that's
definitely
been
true
for
city
of
englewood
and
specifically
for
the
library.
So
we've
had
several
of
our
part-time
staff
members
either
put
a
notice
or
transition
into
a
sub
role,
and
that
means
that
we've
had
to
hire
some
new
library
associates.

So
we
had
two
that
we
hired
and
trained
in
september,
along
with
two
library
associate
substitutes
and
we've
got
two
open
positions
for
library
associates.
Now
we've
got
a
third
library
associate,
who
is
probably
going
to
be
going
on,
fmla,
lead
and
so
we're
just
really
doing,
and
then
we've
also
had
some
challenges
with
our
consistent
support
from
contract
security.
The
contract
security
company
we
work
with
is
also
dealing
with
staff
shortages
and
so
there's
times
when
we're
requesting
security
coverage
and
they're
not
able
to
send
a
guard
for
us.

So
that's
all
these
things
together:
kind
of
creating
some
challenges
in
terms
of
just
maintaining
floor
coverage
for
the
library
part
of
the
reason
I'm
here
tonight
is
we
anticipated
being
kind
of
at
our
critical
staffing
level
and
fortunately,
tonight
worked
out
better.
So
you
know
that
that
we
dodged
the
bullet
tonight,
but
we're
definitely
having
some
some
challenges
on
that
front
and
it's
a
it's
one
of
those
challenges
that
kind
of
sort
of
spirals
on
itself.

This,
of
course,
are
to
just
try
to
streamline
our
hiring
practices
so
that
we
can
fill
positions
as
quickly
as
possible.
We're
very
fortunate
in
that
the
library
associate
like
our
part-time
jobs,
we're
still
getting
really
good
candidates
and
we're
still
getting
a
lot
of
interest
in
those
when
we,
when
we
post
them.

We
have
struggled
more
to
hire
that,
which
is
why
we're
still
relying
so
much
on
contract
security,
so
we're
just
trying
to
be
creative
about
how
we
get
you
know,
get
these
positions
built
quickly,
get
them
trained
quickly
and
then
making
sure
we're
doing
everything
we
can
to
work
with
the
employees.
We've
got
to
make
sure
that
they're
happy
that
they're
feeling
supported.

then,
as
I
mentioned
earlier,
we've
returned
it
in
person
story
times.
Here's
the

that
I
was
channeling
when
I
mentioned
earlier
from
from
kimberly
that
number's
not
up
to
pre-covered
numbers,
that's
okay,
because
that
would
be
too
many
people
in
our
space
and
so
yeah.
The
the
final
session
is
the
storytelling
to
park
with
306
people,
so
yeah
we'll
see
how
those
go
over
the
coming
months
and
marie.

Great
so
staff
training
day
we
did
this
just
yesterday,
we
did
I
wanted
to
let
you
all
know.
We
had
an
in-service
day
where
we
closed
the
library,
so
we
could
do
staff
training
brought
all
of
our
staff
in
for
a
variety
of
training
sessions.
So
it
started
out.
We
started
out
the
day
with
presentations
from
all
health
network,
one
of
our
community
partners
in
the
the
organization
that
actually
has
correspondence
who
work
with
englewood
police
department
for
when
they
are
working
with
individuals
who
are
requesting
access
to
resources.

So
that
was
really
valuable.
Second
session
was
we.
We
gave
staff
two
options,
because
one
of
the
options
was
something
we
wanted
to
make
sure
people
didn't
feel
pressured
into
doing.
One
of
them
was
training
for
narcan,
slash,
naloxone
intervention
in
case
of
an
opioid
overdose,
about
half
a
team
attended
that
session,
and
so
we
were
given
narcan
to
keep
on
hand.

It's
not
something
we
would
ever
require
staff
to
use
in
an
emergency,
but
it's
there
for
somebody
who
has
been
trained
and
is
comfortable
trying
to
save
a
life
in
a
circumstance
like
that.
Violent
health
was
here
providing
that
training
they're
a
nonprofit
in
the
community.
Who
does
that
kind
of
work?
They
also
work
with
denver
public
library
and
they
were
mentioning.
This
is
something
that
has
been
that
they've
had
to
use
at
not
just
the
central
denver
library,
but
also
their
branch
in
the
highlands
as
well.

So
we
found
that
very
interesting
for
the
staff
who
didn't
want
to
attend
that
session.
They
attended
a
session
on
restorative
justice,
they're
working
with
ames
stenson,
who
does
restorative
justice
here
in
the
city
of
englewood,
and
then
we
had
our
lunch
break
and
then
we
came
back
and
we
did
rotating
sessions
where
we
trained.

We
just
did
kind
of
gener
general
staff
training,
since
we
had
so
many
new
people
and
and
then
so
much
going
on,
we
did
training
on
circulation,
customer
service,
merchandising
and
shelving
our
patreon
code
of
conduct.
Writing
our
incident
reports,
just
a
variety
of
topics
that
we
felt
like
was
worth
exploring
in
greater
detail
with
people,
and
then
we
ended
the
day
with
group
trivia.

did
a
sort
of
state
of
the
library
address
to
the
team
and
then
we
just
answered
questions,
so
it
was
really
great
to
be
able
to
close
the
library
for
a
day
and
and
do
that
kind
of
training.
I
think
this
is
something
we
will
probably
try
to
do
annually.
I
think
there
was
real
value
and
we've
gotten
some
great
feedback
from
the
staff
about
it.
So
just
wanted
to
loop,
you
all
in
that
that
was
something
that
happened.

asked
for,
or
what
you
gave
last
year,
which
debbie
you
might
have
those
numbers.

I
don't
have
them
on
hand.
I
should
have
was
way
too
much
and
that
she
really
appreciated
it,
but
didn't
want

up
trying
to
figure
out
what
to
do
with
the
abundance
of
candy
that
she
had
previously.

love

able

like
that
again

I'm
not
sure
exactly
what

funding
levels
look
like

that's

necessarily
need
to
pin
down

details

want
to
give
you
a
heads
up.

that
was
something
that
I
think
we
are
going
to
request.

there

some
speakers
who
we'd
love
to
be
able

bring
in

some
groups
we'd
love
to
work
with.
That
would

come

cost,

really
think
that
staff
training
is
absolutely
critical
for
us.

I
think
that's
been
one
of
my
big
learnings
from
this
year
and
not
nothing
wasn't
something
we.

Being
that
we
just
had
them
wrapped,
they
should
last
another
couple
years
pretty
easily,
but
they
run
between
five
thousand
and
seventy
five
hundred
per
book
drop.
So
it
may
be
something
we
face
in
new
book
drops.
I
noticed
that
they
were
rusting
at
the
bottom,
so
I
think
their
life
is
coming
to
an
end
in
the
near
future.
But
that's
on
the
list.
We
talked
about
book
vending
machines
last
meeting
to
put
out
which
could
be
something
fun,
they're,
not
cheap.

again,
if
you
wake
up
at
two
in
the
morning
and
say
great
idea,
just
shoot
us
an
email
and
we'll
add
it
to
the
list.
But
we'll
keep
reviewing
this
and,
like
I
said
once,
our
budget
starts
over
we're
gonna
be
finishing
the
budget
up
here
in
october
for
2022
and
then
we'll
be
starting
it
soon
after
in
2022
in
the
spring.

all

conversations
I've
had
with
community
development,
it's
there's
still
a
lot
of
unknowns
as
to
what's
going
to
happen,
I
mean
the
whole
civic
center.
All
the
offices
for
the
city,
employees
that
are
housed
there
are
going
to
have
to
move
to
so
there's
a
lot
of
things
that
have
to
happen
first,
I
know
moa
and
hamden
hall
folks
are
asking
you
know
and
trying
to
plan
for
what
their
future
looks
like.

over

weekend,
I
was
in
durango
on
a
trip
and
got
to
visit.

know
whenever
I'm
traveling,
I
always
like
to
visit
the
public
libraries.
You

kind
of
just
an
opportunity

see
what's

on
elsewhere
and
got
to
say
I
was
looking
for
an
old
professional
mentor
of
mine
who
ended
up
working
there
and
anyway.

just
wanted
to
just
encourage
you

reason
it's
they're
barely
staying
staffed
as
it
is.

citizens,
putting

time

things
like

contacting
council
people
and

people

school
board

educational
roles

good

I
can't
overlook
staff
there's
nothing
without
staff,
so
council
puts
in
a
few
hours,
but
but
it
really
is
the
citizens
and
staff.
