Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
Good
evening,
I
just
want
to
welcome
everyone
here
this
evening
on
a
cold
bitterly
cold
evening.
It's
so
wonderful
to
see
everyone
here
and
the
especially
the
families.
I
know.
A
lot
of
you
came
from
quite
a
distance
to
be
here
on
a
cold
night.
We
have
a
special
evening
in
store.
You
can
see
some
of
your
family
members
honored
here
this
evening.
A
The
last
time
we
had
a
award
ceremony
was
two
years
ago,
and
this
is
a
tradition
that
we're
going
to
keep
going
and
keep
keep
having
these
every
every
other
year
for
the
foreseeable
future.
So
tonight,
I
just
want
to
mention
a
couple
things
first,
before
I
give
some
opening
remarks
I'd
like
to
thank
a
number
of
people,
or
here
this
evening.
First
off
our
mayor,
mayor
tisdall,
is
here
and
she's
going
to
say
a
few
words
after
my
opening
remarks,
we
have
a
number
of
representatives
from
Northwestern
Police
Department.
A
So
thank
you,
everyone
for
being
here.
We
have
some
representatives
from
our
Police
Department,
deputy
chief
woz
news
here,
and
our
911
communications
coordinator,
Perry
Polinsky
is
here
as
well.
So
thank
you.
I
also
want
to
mention
to
we
have
a
number
of
our
members
who
are
receiving
awards
this
evening,
who
are
on
duty.
So
you
may
hear
some
tones
go
off
and
you
may
see
some
people
leave
and
that's
the
nature
of
our
business
and
we're
going
to
continue
on
as
is,
and
hopefully
we'll
have
a
quiet
hour
here.
A
The
numbers
of
evidence
and
fire
life
safety
services
have
taken
an
oath
to
save
lives
and
protect
the
property
of
those
who
live,
work
and
play
in
evanston
each
and
every
day,
these
professional
firefighters
and
paramedics
do
so
with
passion,
dedication
and
commitment
to
those
they
serve
on
a
daily
basis.
I
observe
how
the
men
and
women
of
our
department
respond
to
emergencies
and
care
for
our
citizens
and
I
could
not
be
more
proud
of
the
work
that
they
do.
A
Last
year
in
2012,
our
department
responded
to
9330
calls
for
service,
which
was
the
busiest
year
in
the
138
year,
history
of
our
department
and
run
totals
for
this
year.
2013
so
far
indicate
that
we
may
exceed
that
number.
Each
one
of
these
calls
represents
a
situation
that
required
the
skills
and
professionalism
of
each
of
these
members
of
our
department
and
tonight
we're
going
to
honor
them,
commend
and
recognize
their
efforts
and
the
skills
of
some
of
our
members
and
some
of
our
citizens.
A
This
evening,
I
personally
want
to
thank
each
and
every
member
of
this
department
for
the
work
that
they
do
and
how
they
serve
this
community
I.
Also
want
to
thank
our
division:
Chiefs
Tom,
Jeanette's
key
Dwight,
whole
Jeff
block
who
helped
coordinate
this
event.
I
also
want
to
thank
captain
shoga,
who
did
a
lot
of
behind-the-scenes
work,
so
thanks
Ron.
So
with
that
I'd
like
to
ask
the
mayor
to
come
up
and
say
a
few
words
mayor,
tisdall.
B
B
What
I
thought
I
would
like
to
get
across
to
all
of
you
is
how
we
feel
as
a
community
about
our
fire
department
and
that's
pretty
easy
to
describe,
because
chief
climber
and
I
have
talked
many
times
about
trying
to
get
more
Evanston
kids
to
be
firemen
and
fire
women
and
what
a
great
career
it
is.
And
why
do
we
want
more
Evanston
kids
to
be
doing
this?
It's
not
because
we
don't
value
our
firemen
who
live
in
other
cities.
B
B
A
Thought
I'd
start
before
we
give
the
awards.
I
just
want
to
name
the
awards
that
will
be
presented
this
evening.
Five
of
our
awards
will
be
presented
and
I
wanted
to
let
everybody
know
what
these
awards
are
and
what
they
represent.
The
highest
award
that
we're
presenting
this
evening
is
the
Craig
Stiles
award.
This
is
the
second
highest
level
of
recognition.
It's
given
for
outstanding
performance
and
awarded
to
members
of
a
company
whose
combined
act
of
bravery,
dedication,
exceptional
and
professional
skill
resulted
in
saving
of
a
human
life
or
property
under
there
under
adverse
conditions.
A
The
second
award
will
be
giving
this
evening
is
the
fire
chief's
letter
of
commendation,
this
form
of
acknowledge,
I'm.
Sorry,
this
this
form
of
acknowledgement
is
to
recognize
the
excellent
fire
paramedic
work.
Our
members
did
in
everyday
duties.
However,
this
act
of
performance
or
service
demonstrates
exceptional
skill
and
professionalism.
The
following
criteria
may
apply.
The
member
was
performing
a
fire,
paramedic
or
public
service
function.
The
action
went
beyond
routine
fire
or
paramedic
services
and
was
not
an
ordinary
action.
A
Our
third
Awards
fire
chief
special
recognition
award
and
these
awards
may
be
given
in
my
discretion
and
may
present
award
certificate,
particular
shift
division
or
in
Division
dividual.
We
also
have
the
fire
chiefs
citizen
commendation
award.
There
are
some
situations
where
a
citizen
performs
an
act
of
service
that
warrants
recognition.
A
Examples
are
a
citizen
who
placed
their
life
in
jeopardy
to
assist
the
department
and
rescue
saving
another
another
person's
life
by
an
act
of
Valor
performing
an
act
of
public
service
which
rises
above
in
a
significant
manner.
What
is
normally
expected
conduct
of
a
citizen
and
our
last
is
a
fire
chief's
partnership
award.
A
This
award
is
for
any
organization
that
part
with
the
evidence
of
fire
department
to
provide
resources
for
the
betterment
of
the
city
and
our
department,
and
this
last
award
is
I'm
going
to
talk
about
for
just
a
second
before
we
actually
give
it
later.
The
members
who
are
going
to
receive
this
award
are
not
members
of
our
department,
but
two
individuals
from
Mayday
productions
and
Terry
made
a
and
Oscar
I
Ella
spent
two
weeks
with
our
department
producing
a
video
for
an
event
called
the
mashup
event
in
which
our
department
won
the
catalyst
award.
A
So
what
you're
about
to
see
in
a
few
minutes
is
a
highlight
of
one
particular
call
out
of
the
9300
over
9,300.
We
went
on
last
year
and
it
shows
our
members
who
responded,
and
some
of
them
will
be
honored
here
this
evening,
as
well
as
some
of
our
nu
police
officers
and
some
citizens
who
are
on
the
call
that
day
we'd
a
physician
who
had
a
heart
attack.
A
He
suffered
a
heart
attack
while
working
out
at
nu
athletic
facility
on
campus
and
through
the
combined
efforts
of
the
citizens
on
the
scene
and
you
police
officers
and
our
firefighter
paramedics.
We
save
this
physicians
life
and
that's
what
that's
what
you're
about
to
see.
So,
let's,
let's
start
that
and
let
everyone
take
a
look.
A
C
D
C
F
I
Well,
the
catalyst
award,
of
course
this
goes
to
somebody
or
some
organization
that
creates
a
spark,
a
spark
that
enhances
the
relationship
between
a
great
University
and
a
great
city
living
in
evanston.
Knowing
that
we
have
this
great
fire
department
and
police
force
so
devoted
to
enhancing
the
relationship
between
the
University
and
the
city,
it's
just
a
remarkable
group
of
people.
I
think.
J
D
Is
grave
concern
because
I
heart
hadn't
worked
for
10
minutes
that
I
was
going
to
have
damage
to
my
brain
and
the
fact
is,
as
far
as
anybody
can
tell
I,
don't
and
I
think
so
much
of
it
has
to
do
to
what
they
haven't,
seen
fire
department
and
then
people
at
Northwestern
did
I'm
very
grateful
to
the
evanston
fire
department
and
northwestern
because
she
helped
save
my
life.
We're.
K
F
A
Okay,
we
finally
got
it
going.
That
was
that's
a
wonderful
video
and
Oscar,
and
Terry
from
Mayday
productions
are
actually
out
of
town
on
a
video
shoot
right
now,
so
they
won't
be
here
this
evening,
but
they're
going
to
be
recognized
anyway,
just
again
incredible
video.
So
we're
going
to
start
this
evening
and
who's
up.
First
Tom
division,
chief
Jeanette,
ski.
L
L
Okay,
next
I'd
like
to
call
up
these
individuals
from
engine
company
23,
captain
Peter
Casey,
firefighter
branding
Gatewood,
firefighter
paramedic
Alex
Palmeras
and
from
truck
truck
23
captain
Michael
Goldman
firefighter
paramedic
michael,
has
an
off
and
firefighter
paramedic
Gary
Hicks.
Please
come
up.
M
L
Okay,
I
made
a
third
2012
deceive
Evanston,
experienced
a
severe
weather
event
in
the
early
evening
that
caused
multiple
alarms
and
calls
for
service
citywide
engine
23
and
23
were
dispatched
to
2300
noise
court.
On
arrival.
It
was
found
that
the
storm
had
caused
water
to
collect
on
the
roof
and
run
through
the
interior
of
the
structure,
causing
extensive
damage
in
numerous
apartments
within
within
the
structure,
to
possibly
be
evacuated.
L
That
would
cause
a
complete
evacuation
of
the
building.
The
company
is
working
as
a
team
completely
took
actions,
took
immediate
actions
and
not
only
limited
to
damages
to
the
building,
but
also
allow
the
actions
of
the
senior
living
facility
to
stay
comfortable
and
safe
within
their
homes.
This
is
a
large
multi-story
building
with
numerous
residents
all
seniors,
so
these
actions
that
they
took
are
hereby
commanded
for
those
tonight.
L
On
February
15th
of
2013
engine
22
and
a
bellows
22
responded
to
339
howard
street
for
a
report
of
a
possible
child
neglect
situation.
Upon
their
arrival,
the
companies
discovered
three
children
who
appeared
to
be
suffering
from
severe
malnutrition
and
called
for
an
additional
ambulance
to
respond
to
the
scene.
All
companies
on
the
scene
displayed
professionalism,
care
and
compassion
towards
the
children.
They
then
reported
their
findings
to
the
property
authorities
and
state
agencies.
All
members
on
that
call
are
being
recognized
for
their
exemplary
service.
L
On
june
fifth
2013
at
approximately
two-thirty
p.m.
evanston
and
Mavis
division,
three
fire
companies
fought
a
structure
fire
at
1301.
Hudson
avenue
the
fire
which
started
in
attic
and
roof
space
was
difficult
to
reach
in
control
operations.
Chief,
william,
you
knows
this
decision
to
change
fire
tactics
from
an
initial
offensive
to
a
defensive
and
then
back
again
to
an
offensive
mode
was
critical
in
bringing
the
fire
under
control
with
his
aptitude
to
read
smoke
and
fire
conditions
shift
Chief
William.
L
L
M
L
On
September
15
2013,
battalion
21,
along
with
truck
23
in
truck
22
and
engine
25,
were
dispatched
the
2650
ridge
avenue
for
the
person
stuck
in
an
elevator
upon
arrival,
it
was
determined
that
the
person
was
trapped
in
an
elevator
which
had
no
access
due
to
a
blind,
elevator
shaft.
The
removal
is
this
engine
individual
from
the
shaft
required
specialized
training
and
the
expertise
along
with
unique
equipment
that
included
ropes,
rappelling
equipment
and
haul
systems,
the
company's
work
diligently
and
successfully
remove
the
victim
without
harm
from
the
elevator.
For
this,
your
actions
are
commended.
F
Evanston
fire
and
life
safety
services
would
like
to
recognize
the
efforts
of
these
three
firefighter
paramedics,
who
have
worked
with
our
staff
to
develop,
implement
and
manage
our
new
fire
Explorer
program.
Since
the
program's
inception
in
the
fall
of
two
thousand
twelve
firefighter
paramedic
commerce,
Eva
Cole,
Phillip,
itÃs
and
Jake
asst
have
dedicated
their
time
to
ensure
the
program's
success.
F
They
are
to
be
commended
for
their
commitment
to
the
young
men
and
women
currently
in
the
program
who
may
one
day
hope
to
become
members
of
our
fire
department
as
a
result
of
their
dedication
and
commitment
to
our
fire
Explorer
program.
Each
of
these
members
will
receive
the
fire
chief
special
recognition
award.
F
Okay,
firefighter
golbat
is
not
here
today,
but
I
will
go
ahead
and
read
his
award
evanston
fire
life
safety
services
would
like
to
recognize
the
efforts
of
firefighter
paramedic
Kim
golbat,
who
has
successfully
implemented
and
managed
our
department
social
media
services.
It
has
a
result
of
firefighter
paramedic
goal.
That's
commitment
to
the
program.
We
now
have
a
total
of
over
1,000
new
friends
of
the
Evanston
fire
department,
we're
trying
to
catch
up
to
the
library.
F
P
P
O
F
So
what
you
just
heard
was
the
call
I'm
gonna
read
a
little
t
about
September
19
2013
Devon
sent
fire
companies

1939
jackson,
avenue
for
a

Our
Evanston
dispatchers
maintain
their
composure
by
collecting
it
vital
information
given
instructions
to
the
caller
and
then
dispatching
the
responding
fire

These
dedicated

and

relaying
information
for
the
manpower
and
equipment
necessary
to
bring
the
incident
under

also.
F
At
the
same
time,
the
woman
fire
department
had
a
water
rescue
Lake
Michigan,
so
they
were
dealing
with
us
trying
to
send
firefighters
up
to
wilmette
as
well,
while
trying
to
battle
the
structure
fire
for
your
professionalism
and
dedication
and
addressing
the
citizens,
often
at
the
worst
moments
in
their

You
are
commended.

F
Fire
chief
citizen
commendation
award
michael
proc,
is:
are
you
here
on
februari
24
2013?
Mr.
michael
prot,
while
driving
past
22
12
green
bay
road
thought
he
saw
a
fire,
he
decided
to
turn
his
vehicle
around
and
investigate
in
doing
so.
He
confirmed
suspicions.
Mr.
prob
mediately
called
911
and
reported
the
fire
firefighters
arrived
and
quickly
extinguished
the
fire
which
had
started
in
a
dryer
in
a
car
wash.
It
was
because
of
mr.
prize
diligence
and
quick
thinking
that
fire
damage
was
kept
to
a
minimum
for
you.
You
are
awarded
the
fire
chief
citizen
commendation.
F
F
On
jun,
12
2013,
a
citizen
reported
that
a
man
in
the
aquatic
center
at
northwestern
locker
room
had
collapsed
on
the
floor
was
unconscious.
Mr.
de
Betancourt
and
mr.
Gleason
quickly
assessed
the
patient
and
determined
that
he
had
no
pulse
and
was
not
breathing.
They
immediately
started
CPR
and
used
an
automatic
external
defibrillator.
Prior
to
the
arrival
the
evanston
fire
personnel,
the
unconscious
patient,
was
treated
and
transferred
to
the
hospital
regaining
a
pulse.
It
is
because
of
the
quick
actions
of
the
northwestern
police
officers,
mr.
de
Betancourt
and
mr.
F
In
September
27
2013,
approximately
5
30
p.m.
a
young
child
had
wandered
into
the
lake
without
the
knowledge
of
her
mother.
The
mother
made
an
attempt
to
rescue
her
but
was
unsuccessful.
She
called
911
the
rough
water
and
the
rip
currents
pulled
the
child
out.
Approximately
100
yards
from
the
shore
has
to
break
water
and
swept
her
around
to
its
south
side,
where
miss
Hall
was
walking
along

Q
The
chaplain
gets
the
bat
cleanup
the
other
day
at
lunch
at
one
of
our
fire
stations,
I
asked
a
veteran
firefighter
paramedic
when
you've
gone
to
a
particularly
difficult
call.
What
do
you
do
so
that
the
images
of
what
you
see
don't
haunt
you,
and
he
said
after
a
while
you
just
get
used
to
it.
It's
part
of
the
job
see
what
they
do
for
us.
Q
Q
That
would
be
you
among
others.
The
best
way
to
thank
them
is
to
always
be
sure
they
have
everything
they
need
money,
secure
pensions,
equipment
and
respect,
and,
if
you'd
like
me
to
come
back
to
talk
to
City
Council,
if
that
would
help
I'm
always
available,
so
all
I
have
to
say
is
thanks,
be
to
god,
for
all
of
you
amen.
A
See
what
I
mean
the
world's
best
fire
chaplain?
Thank
you
David.
That
was
great.
This
was
a
wonderful
evening.
I
want
to
mention
a
couple
things
before
we
conclude.
We
had
five
of
our
met.
Four
of
our
members
retire
this
past
year
and
I
didn't
want
this
night
to
pass
without
mentioning
their
names
and
as
well
as
one
of
our
division
chiefs,
who
has
announced
his
retirement.
A
Some
of
them
recognized
for
their
efforts.
Some
of
them
not.
We
have
not
often
had
some
of
these
events
throughout
the
course
of
my
career,
but
rest
assured
that
all
of
them
have
served
this
community
in
a
wonderful
capacity
with
dignity,
honor
commitment
and
dedication
of
this
community,
and
for
that
I
thank
them,
and
we
should
we
should
all
thank
them.
