From YouTube: Reparations Committee Meeting 11-4-2021
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
Good
morning,
everyone
thank
you
all
for
being
in
attendance,
reparations
committee
meeting.
My
name
is
alden
braithwaite
chair.
We
do
have
a
quorum,
so
we're
going
to
go
ahead
and
call
this
meeting
to
order.
A
A
A
A
D
D
D
As
of
this
morning,
we
have
349
who
have
submitted
application
as
a
direct
descendant
three
four
discriminatory
practices,
and
one
for
do
not
apply
for
any
of
those
three
categories.
For
ancestors
we
are
averaging
122.
D
What
we
are
beginning
to
see
and
what
we
have
seen
over
the
course
of
the
weeks
that
we
had
the
application
open
is
that
sometimes
people
may
not
completely
understand
documentation,
and
so
we
have
reached
out
and
as
we
catch
them
to
inform
the
person
to
please
resubmit
with
the
corrected
documentation,
as
people
are
rushing
to
get
this
their
applications
in.
We
are
seeing
that
more
frequently
now,
and
so
we
are
trying
to
catch
those
early
to
get
informed
to
those
individuals.
D
We
just
you
know
again.
The
enthusiasm
is
definitely
coming
in
full
strength
at
the
last
week,
so
we
will
probably
see
our
numbers
over
500
for
sure
by
the
time
closing.
A
D
D
We've
been
doing
because,
initially,
when
we
had
trickling,
we
were
able
to
review,
but
then,
as
we
started
getting
slammed,
we
had
to
figure
out
a
different
process
because.
D
Not
so,
as
of
now,
we've
reviewed
close
to
75
to
100
applications.
Those
that
we
found
deemed
to
be
in
need
of
some
additional
feedback
has
been
a
quarter
of
those
okay.
So
we
can
just
imagine,
as
we
get
further
into
the
review,
that
that
number
is
going
to
increase
okay.
What
we
have
done
is
we
created
folders,
so
everything
is
in
a
what
needs
to
be
who
has
been
deemed
documentation
is
correct,
everything's,
moved
forward.
We
put
that
in
a
separate
folder
and
those
who
we
have
questions
about.
B
D
What
they
receive
initially,
okay,
once
we
get
through
the
process,
they're
gonna
receive
another
email.
So
what
we've
done
and
maybe
again
we're
trying
to
figure
this
out
as
we
move
along?
What's
a
better
process,
initially
we're
reaching
out
individually
and
saying:
hey
your
documentation
is
missing
this
or,
and
that
was
fine
and
now
we're
realizing.
I
don't
know
we
can
do
that
at
the
same
time.
D
Those
who
have
been
set
aside,
we're
going
to
have
to
reach
out
to
them
individually,
either
by
phone
or
by
email,
because
those
individuals
need
to
get
some
additional
support,
because
what
we're
finding
is
some
people
are
not
putting
in
documentation.
That's
trying
to
connect
them
to
the
1960s
that
time
frame
they're
putting
in
their
current
documentation
so
where
they
currently
live.
B
D
They're
not
providing
detail,
so
we
do
know
for
some
community
community
members
that
has
been
very
difficult
for
them
to
be
able
to
identify
a
located
document.
So
we
are
working
with
them.
One-On-One
and
that's
been
very
helpful
and
I
think
that
has
kind
of
calmed,
some
nerves
down
and
anxiety
when
we've
done
that.
So
we
think
that's
a
better
approach
for
those
individuals.
E
B
D
A
I
I'm
just
we're
open
it
up
to
the
committee
and
I
think
what
makes
sense
is
to
after
tomorrow,
we'll
have
the
set
number
of
applications.
So
everything
that
we
talk
about
right
now
is
going
to
be
hypothetical.
Based
on
that
fact.
So
let's
wait
until
you
get
that
number
close
it,
and
then
we
can
get
some
feedback
from
staff
and
we'll
make
the
necessary
adjustments.
Does
that
make
sense
to
everyone.
F
Yeah,
it
doesn't
make
sense,
because
we,
if
we're
not
gonna
reconvene
into
our
next
meeting,
we're
going
to
miss
a
committed
deadline.
And
so
are
we
going
to
set
the
right
expectation
to
the
community
in
terms
of
what
is
and
is
not
going
to
happen,
because
we
have
set
been
very
much
in
touch
with
communication
on
when
it
closes.
When
we
plan
to
have
this
transparent
sort
of
selection,
when
the
benefits
will
be
acknowledged
of
a
war
between
december
1st
and
december
6th.
F
A
A
A
That
you
won't
be
present,
and
so
during
that
time,
we'll
our
staff
will
have
an
opportunity
just
to
anticipate
when
we
can
get
back
to
a
schedule.
I
I
always
ask
the
you
know,
members
of
the
public
as
we're
going
through
this
process,
that
you
know
we're
the
first
and
so
along
the
way.
We
have
made
many
adjustments
and,
as
we
receive
information
feedback
from
our
community,
we
just
have
to
be
a
little
bit
fluid,
so
I'm
definitely
committed
to
getting
this
done,
but
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we
do
it
correctly.
D
We
have
internally-
and
I
just
want
to
be
clear
people
need
time,
even
when
I've
reached
out
to
folks
they
were
like.
Why
do
I
have
to
get
this
in
by
the
fifth
and
I'm
like?
No,
do
not
worry
about
having
to
get
it
in
by
the
fifth.
Just
let
me
know
what
you're
what
you're
able
to
locate
and
then
we
will
figure
out
a
time
frame.
D
D
D
What
our
initial
numbers
were
when
we
came
to
you
all
a
month
ago,
where
we
were
averaging
about
40
applications,
we're
now
tripling
that,
and
so
I'm
going
to
be
honest,
maybe
that
those
numbers
that
initial
time
frame
was
just
based
off
of
information
that
we
had
in
current
in
front
of
us,
but
now
having
started
the
process
of
review
I
have
to
be.
I
have
to
acknowledge
that
that
time
frame
is
just
too
aggressive.
F
E
G
D
So
I
would
tell
you
we
have
had
averaged
at
our
our
office
hours.
We
had
over
100
people,
it's
at
the
at
the
totality
of
it
come
through.
The
library
has
been
a
resource.
The
library
and
I
have
worked
hand
in
hand
with
this.
Ancestry.Com
is
a
free
service
through
the
library,
and
you
know
they
have
been
helpful,
but
the
problem
is
is
not
even
that
it's
people
who
cannot
locate
documents.
F
One
last
comment
about
this:
I
think
just
a
recommendation
to
maybe
work
even
more
closely
with
surefront
just
asking
them
if
they
were
part
of
any
social
clubs
or
little
league
programs
or
whatever.
It's
amazing.
What
400,
linear
square
feet
of
archives
has,
and
he
has
all
kinds
of
things-
suburb
or
not.
Just
all
kinds
of.
G
F
Interesting
things.
So
if
we
could
maybe
have
a
conversation
with
shore
front
and
everson
history
center
about
how
they
could
be
more
helpful
because
they've
been
very
enthusiastic
about
offering
help
and.
F
E
E
I
Good
morning,
I'm
sorry
I
was
a
little
late
but
good
morning.
I
want
to
concur
with
the
chairman
that
we
can't
look
at
the
timeline
that
we've
set
in
place
before
the
process
began,
to
determine
when
everything
when
we
will
select
or
have
the
persons
notified.
I
I
had
a
person
who,
because
she
was
married
and
women
were
typically
not
included
in
the
phone
book.
The
husband
was
included.
I
A
Yeah
mr
sutton.
J
First,
I'm
going
to
come
in
staff
and,
secondly,
the
truth
of
the
matter
is
being
an
old
level.
Stoney
there's.
E
A
G
D
J
To
reinforce
that,
I
would
like
to
have
a
commitment
sent
to
the
churches
or
to
all
black
fraternities
and
sororities
that
all
people
who
have
made
an
application,
okay,
will
be
dealt
with
during
the
10-year
period.
The
next
thing
they
were
concerned
about
or
what,
if
the
city
decides
to
cut
this
down
to
just
three
years
and
we
won't
be
able
to
to
fulfill
everyone.
That's
on
this
distribution.
G
G
J
You
know
the
city
ain't
going
to
do
nothing
to
anybody,
so
why
should
I
apply?
And
I'm
encouraged,
that
we
have
this
kind
of
application?
That's
increasing
as
again,
I'm
also
very,
very
supportive
of
the
staff.
I
think
you've
done
a
miraculous
job
and
I
want
to
commit
you
on
that.
We
need.
J
I
mean
the
fears
and
the
concern
that
I
get
every
day.
Yeah
about
this
process.
J
Because
I
tried
to
address
each
individual's
concern,
as
I
would
want
someone
to
address
me.
Yeah.
G
G
J
Keeping
that
in
mind,
I
want
to
just
add
a
little
bit
to
robert
yeah.
I
think
we
should
have
an
outreach
to
some
other
organizations.
J
To
encourage
people-
I
don't
know
if
we
can
put
an
article
in
every
church
bulletin
or
on
the
zoo,
any
way
where
we
can
get
optimistically.
I
expected
a
thousand
people
at
this
time.
You.
E
G
G
J
Get
this
moving
if
we
have
to
even
extend
the
deadline
to
distribution,
I
I'll
be
willing
to
take
the
plaque
from
that
when
I
get
the
phone
calls
okay,
but
we
have
to
make
sure
that
people
do
not
feel
that
this
is
a
process
that
they
will
never
be
able
to
benefit
from.
J
F
Last,
since
it's
tomorrow
at
midnight,
because
I've
run
into
people
that
weren't
applying
because
they
they
weren't
homeowners
or.
E
F
D
Get
that
out
today
for
patrick
for
the
c
newsletter.
So
what
I'm
hearing
is
that
we're
going
to
prioritize
review
of
ancestors
first
so
we'll
get
that
to
you
all
as
quickly
as
possible,
at
least
give
you
the
breakdown
of
how
many
have
been
verified
to
have
completed
the
document.
D
L
L
D
H
D
I
I've
I've
had
maybe
more
time
on
the
phone
having
conversations
and
listening
to
stories
about
people's
lives
in
evanston
growing
up
and
which
has
been
a
very
humbling
conversation
and-
and
I
think
that's
why
I'm
more
empathetic.
But
I
don't.
I
just
don't
want
us
to
rush
this
because
those
individuals
are
like
they
don't
trust
the
process
because
they
know
past
city
interactions.
So
I
I
appreciate
you
all
understanding
that
and
we
will
be
very
transparent
and
communicative
with
the
committee
on
where
we're
at.
A
Perfect
all
right,
thank
you
very
much
for
the
report
from
our
staff
we're
going
to
continue
to
move
forward.
I
want
to
welcome
those
that
have
just
joined
our
meeting.
I
shared
it
at
the
top
when
we
opened
up
that
we
have
a
very
aggressive
schedule
to
finish
at
10
o'clock,
so
I'm
do
our
best
to
continue
to
move
us
forward.
The
next
item
that
we
have
up
is
the
reparations
financial
donation
report.
K
J
J
G
J
E
J
I
would
like
to
answer
them.
Our
distribution
is
going
to
be
considered,
I
mean
donation
is
going
to
be
considered
for
the
first
distribution.
A
So
I
could
probably
answer
this
question,
so
this
is
what
the
budget
that
we
took
to
our
city
council
right-
and
I
think
I've
explained
I've-
shared
this
as
an
opportunity
at
previous
meetings.
All
of
these
all
of
the
all
the
money
that
we're
coming
in
that
we're
currently
budgeting
for
is
just
for
one
dispensary,
that's
open.
We
currently
have
I've
spoken
to
one
two:
three
applicants
that
have
received
licenses
since
the
first
round
that
are
currently
looking
for
spaces
in
town
to
operate.
A
So
if
we
forward
think
we're
going
to
have
multiple
streams
of
income
coming
in,
that
will
accelerate
the
money
to
get
to
that
10
million
mark.
We
can't
predict
right
now,
no
more
than
we
can
spend
money
that
we
don't
have.
So
if
I
was
to
answer
that
question
this
way
is
our
priority
with
our
staff
is
to
get
through
this
first
step
and
then
we'll
continue
to
budget
based
on
what's
coming
in
and
that
will
include
the
31
000..
Does
that
make
sense?
L
L
D
It's
a
four
thousand
is
the
budget,
it's
not
the
actuals,
so
the
actuals
is
what's
in
the
actual,
it's
in
the
account
right.
The
budget
is
what's
programmed
for
the,
so
it
could
be
co-mingled
with
those
donations.
Okay,
it's
just
a
matter
of
direction,
because
we
also
have
to
realize
that,
as
we're
going
towards
the
next
phase
of
implementing
a
new
program,
there's
a
lot
of
call
for
the
community
around
more
engagement
opportunities.
Well,
that
has
a
cost
to
it.
So
do
we
use
those
donation
funds
to
pay
for
those
costs.
A
D
A
A
All
right
tashik:
do
you
have
the
reparation
donations
working
group
update?
I
think.
F
Sure
we
we
met
last
week,
it
was
claire
and
donna
and
one
other
resident.
I'm
sorry
if
she's
here,
if
you
could
remind
me
claire,
do
you
remember
her
name?
I
don't
because
we
just
had
her
phone
number.
I
think
not
nadana,
that
there
was
one
there
was
one
other
resident
and
tashik
is,
is
supporting
the
group
and
we
we
had
a
discussion
around.
F
What
type
of
information
might
be
helpful
to
educate
potential
private
contributions,
and
we
talked
about
preparing
a
study
that
shows
a
trajectory
of
how
this
reparations
could
help
and
impact
families
and
bring
repair,
and
we
have
been
really
just
in
strategy
at
this
point
and
will
continue
to
meet
and
develop
a
thoughtful
campaign
around
requesting
participation
from
private
individuals
and
other
institutions
and
businesses
and
organizations
here
in
town
claire.
Can
you
add
anything
to
that.
B
B
But
your
input
is
really
important
for
you,
because
you
have
that.
You
know
that
that
historical
you've
been
at
the
beginning.
So
I
think
it's
helpful
to
know
who's
been
approached
and
their
responses
and
what's
been
what
has
been
successful
and
what
hasn't.
B
F
But
I'm
really
happy
to
participate,
thank
you
and,
and
we
have
did
we
set
a
meeting
cadence,
I
don't
remember,
or
did
we
I
think
I
think
we
did.
F
Will
be
meeting
regularly
and
we'll
make
sure
that
one
of
the
members
of
the
subcommittee,
probably
our
community
members
at
large,
probably
in
donna
if
she's
in
the
country
for
our
next
meeting,
can
help
us
with
giving
updates
on
that
committee.
A
Okay,
so
you
know
the
hands
are
for
comments.
We
will
move
on
to
our
next
agenda
item,
which
is
evanston
community
day
blackwell
through
homeownership
workshops.
Do
we
have
we.
A
So,
just
for
members
of
the
community,
we
out
of
the
thank
you
good
morning
so
before
you
get
started
so
the
importance
of
this
throughout
the
community
workshops.
There
are
a
lot
of
questions
from
homeowners
just
regarding
things
that
had
absolutely
nothing
to
do
with
the
program.
It's
just.
How
do
you
qualify
for
a
mortgage
people
residents
that
wanted
to
wait
for
the
award
before
they
start
the
process,
and
this
is
something
that
aldrin
simmons
worked
on.
M
Oh
good
morning,
everyone,
yes,
I
have
actually
a
few
of
our
board
members.
I
am
gwendolyn
newton.
I
am
the
president
for
the
dearborn
realtors
board.
M
We
have
in
the
audience
our
first
vice
president,
madame
senina
ellison
jones,
welcome.
A
M
So
just
to
give
you
a
little
bit
of
background
and
again
good
morning,
everybody
and
I'm
so
happy
to
see
all
of
your
faces,
but
to
give
you
a
little
bit
of
background
about
the
dearborn
realtor
sport,
if
you
are
not
familiar,
we
were
created
and
chartered
back
in
1941
out
of
the
need
for
the
african-american
black
real
estate
professionals
to
have
a
home
to
go
to,
because
at
that
time
we
were
not
allowed,
not
welcome
to
become
real
tours,
which
is
a
kind
of
a
term
that
everyone
use
when
they
want
to
refer
to
a
licensed
real
estate
broker.
M
I
am
a
real
estate
broker,
madam
sunina's
also,
and
also
madame
diane
diane,
is
our
one
of
our.
I
consider
legacy
historians
because
she's
been
in
the
organization
for
how
many
years
many
years,
many,
but
we
were
founded
on
the
mission
of
democracy
and
housing
and
as
advocates
in
the
black
communities,
it
is
about
education
and
empowerment
to
build
black
wealth
in
the
communities,
as
well
as
leaving
a
legacy
for
the
families
we
have
with
the
past
president
courtney
jones
and
madam
first
vice
president
jones.
M
They
had
a
relationship
with
alderman
simmons
and
through
conversations
we
had
a
community
day
first
part
of
2020
our
first
ever,
and
we
had
a
successful
event
that
he,
the
community
day,
basically
encompasses
where
we
partner
with
so
the
hud
counselors
lender
partners.
So
if
it's
fifth,
third
or
freddie
mac
or
chase-
and
we
bring
together
to
put
togeth,
you
know
we
bring
everybody
together
under
one
roof,
to
provide
workshops
that
educate
our
communities
about
the
home
buyer
education
process.
M
M
A
loan
we
also
have
counseling
services,
where
we
won't
go
through
a
hud,
the
the
actual
process
in
terms
of
the
people
that
have
credit
challenges,
but
they
do
have
one-on-one
appointments
after
that
community
day
to
walk
through,
because
you
may
not
be
ready
today,
but
you
may
be
ready
in
three
months
with
and
and
with
the
combination
of
bringing
you
know,
black
families
in
there's
always
a
challenge.
M
Oh,
I
can't
go
because
I
need
a
babysitter,
so
we
have
a
kids
zone
where
we
do
face
painting
balloons
and
games
and
things
like
that,
and
so
we
try
to
make
it
a
holistic
family
experience
through
education
and
financial
wealth
building
through
the
homeownership
process.
With
this
particular
upcoming
community
day,
we
are
touching
on.
You
know
you
you
get
this
grant
fund
and
then
how
do
you
use?
What's
the
best
way
for
you
to
use
if
you're
going
to
use
it
for
an
acquisition?
M
There's
a
road
and
path
for
that
or,
if
you're
going
to
use
it
for
renovations
and
so
we'll
discuss?
You
know,
what's
the
best
way
to
get
the
you
know
your
bank
for
your
buck?
M
Let's
see.
Did
I
forget
anything
just.
N
Good
morning,
everyone
I
am
sunita
jones
first
vice
president
of
the
dearborn
realtors
board.
Thank
you
guys
so
much
for
having
us
and
we'll
be
brief,
because
I
know
you
guys
got
to
wrap
up
on
time.
I
just
wanted
to
add
some
additional
context
in
terms
of
how
the
community
day
came
about
and
just
to
tie
the
connect.
All
of
the
dots.
We
are
a
part
of
a
national
organization
which
is
the
national
association
of
real
estate
brokers.
N
There
are
approximately
95
chapters
across
the
country,
and
so
we
are
representing
the
state
of
illinois
and
how
this
came
about
our
first
community
day.
We
had
1100
participants,
so
it's
a
hugely
successful
event
and
it's
across
the
country
there's
a
model
that
we
have,
and
so
the
the
model
that
we
present
to
you
all
and
that
we've
had
that
we
had
in
2020
is
one
that
we
intend
to
replicate
and
so
to
piggyback
off.
N
What,
madam
president
said,
there
will
be
workshops,
you
know
kid
zones,
there's
food,
there's
music,
so
it's
it's
designed
to
engage
the
community.
It's
designed
to
bring
them
out,
educate
the
community
on
all
things
home
ownership.
So
that's
acquisition,
whether
that's
repairing
their
home,
and
we
know
everyone
is
at
a
different
life
cycle
in
ownership
right
and
so
some
people
are
still
leasing
and
so,
at
whatever
stage
they're
in
in
the
process.
We're
able
to
assist
with
that.
N
The
majority
of
our
board
are
real
estate
practitioners,
so,
whether
that
be
a
real
estate
broker
or
an
attorney
an
appraiser,
a
lender
at
some
point
there
at
some
stage
in
the
process.
We
have
a
professional
that
can
assist
with
that,
and
so
it's
an
all-encompassing
process
from
the
time
that
we
start
at
8,
30
to
2
o'clock
and
there's
all
types
of
workshops
talking
about
all
types
of
things.
Ultimately,
the
objective
is
wealth,
building,
right
teaching,
people
how
to
own
real
estate
and
how
to
build
wealth
through
real
estate.
M
Yes,
and
so
in
the
format
of
how
we
laid
it
out
last
year
you
had
a
breakout
session
from
let's
just
say
from
10
to
12,
and
then
you
had
a
second
session
from
12
to
2.,
and
so
you
may
have
the
same
session
in
session
one
versus
session
two.
So
there
may
you
know
everybody's
not
going
to
be
able
to
participate
in
everything,
and
then
everything
may
not
apply
to
that
person.
So
and
then
you
know
the
conversation
doesn't
stop
at
that
community
day
there
will
be
resources
there.
M
There
are
real
estate
brokers,
as
madam
first
vp
mentioned,
we'll
have
attorney's
title
real
estate
brokers
available
for
questions.
You
know
going
up
to
the
event
and
then
afterwards,
great.
A
Thank
you,
carlos.
M
So
we
have
not
confirmed
one
if
we're
going
to
do
that.
Yet
the
last
sessions
we
had
someone
there
filming,
but
they
weren't
anything
that
we
would
display
and
available.
So
it's
not
confirmed
on
whether
or
not
we
haven't
decided
thank.
B
J
Yeah
two
things:
first,
I
want
to
commend
you,
ladies
for
a
wonderful
job,
and
thank
you
for
taking
the
name
dearborn.
My
parents
were
married
on
43rd
on
january
1941.
O
M
J
J
G
M
J
A
list
of
bonded
acceptable
contractors,
because
their
concern
was
we,
you
know
we're
going
to
have
to
go
through
that
system.
Permit.
I
said
no
we've
taken
care
of
that
end
correct,
but
there
should
be
a
list
that
they
could
identify
when
we're
trying
to
identify
to
keeping
this
money
in
the
community.
As
long
as
we
can't.
F
To
say
something
I
was
going
to
jump
in
and
just
clarify
that
I
think
what
mr
sutton
is
saying
is
that
the
permit
fees.
A
F
F
So
if
we
do
get
them
and
and
the
their
information,
I
believe
is
in
the
packet,
if
not
we'll
get
it
to
them,
they
can
be
a
vendor.
They'll
work
with
the
dearborn
realtors
to
be
a
vendor.
At
that
event,
also
bobby
is
working
with
a
resident
to
sort
of
convene
some
contractors.
So
there's
a
resource
for
the
contractors
too.
A
Thank
you,
okay.
I
just
have
two
quick
questions.
I
don't
want
to
be
mindful.
So
the
one
thing
that
I
didn't
see
on
the
flyer,
what
type
of
covet
protocols
are
you
taking?
Are
you
hoping
to
get
a
large
turnout
and
it's
in
large
space?
I
know
the
area,
but
are
you
capping?
The
number
are
you
so
that
would
be
the
question.
First,
public
protocols.
M
So
one
of
the
primary
protocols
is
social
distancing
which,
in
terms
of
spacing
people
out,
we
have
not
confirmed
anything
with
alderman
simmons.
We
are
working
and
collaborating
with
her,
but
we
have
done
temperature
checks.
If
there
are,
you
know,
yeah,
oh
yeah,
most
definitely
madame
diane
said
face.
Masks
are
required
covering
your
nose
and
mouth
and
you
know
we'll
have
hand
sanitizing
stations
available
for
people.
You
know
throughout
and
yeah.
That's.
F
So
it's
there,
it
has
a
very
large
open
space,
so
spacing
will
be
available.
M
And
then
you
know
whatever
updated
cdc
guidelines,
we
always
fall
within
the
whatever
those
parameters
are
and.
A
B
Yeah
there's
there's
quite:
we
need
to
be
mindful
of
financial
exploitation
and
trying
to
raise
awareness
about
that,
potentially
helping
community
to
identify
and
protect
against.
A
So
my
follow-up
question
to
that
is:
are
you
making
sure
that
the
people
that
are
coming
into
the
organization
have
been
properly
vetted
so
that
from
the
point
of
contact,
and
once
you
get
down
the
path
with
whatever
services
that
we're?
Mindful
of
particularly
when
serving
our
seniors
that
you're
monitoring
that,
to
whatever
degree.
M
Correct
so
our
partners
have
been
vetted.
These
are
partnerships
that
we
have
been
dealing
with.
You
know
over
the
course
of
the
last
four
to
five
years.
They
are
fdic
regulated,
they
are
state
regulated
as
well
as
ourselves,
and
so,
even
when
we
bring
like
say,
for
instance,
a
hud
counselor
in
there's
certain
guidelines
that
they
have
to
be
in
a
separate
place.
M
You
know
it's
not
an
open
space
where
there's
a
door
and
there's
privacy
and
as
far
as
discretion
and
and
then
even
taking
in
the
context,
you
know,
documentation,
there's
a
confidentiality
and
there's
a
fiduciary
responsibility
that
that
we
all
walk
with.
Thank
you
and
operate
in
thank.
N
A
N
I
M
Is
in
addition
to
we're
out
on
social
media,
and
we
do
also
market
to
our
spheres
of
influence
and
our
partners,
so
we
have
a
variety
of
partners
that
you
know
we
work
with
on
the
non-for
profit
side
versus
profit
side.
In
addition,
there
is
a
link
that
is
attached
to
the
updated
flyer
that
people
will
be
able
to
go
on
and
find
out
more
information
and
they'll
be
able
to
sign
up.
There
is
an
email
address,
I'm
not
quite
sure
if
that
our
email
is
actually
on
there.
M
If
there's
any
sort
of
questions,
comments
or
you
know,
concerns,
and
then
we
can
address,
you
know
individuals
as
as
required.
You.
I
Know
email
is
great
and
you
know
the
links
are
great,
but
a
lot
of
people
do
not
always
use
that
and
I'm
just
wondering
if
and
especially
in
my
community,
I
live
in
the
fifth
ward.
If
we
could
just
maybe
do
some
actual
handouts,
I
mean
I'd,
be
willing
to
work,
walk
my
neighborhood,
and
so
I'm
sure
others
would
be
willing
to
walk
their
neighborhood.
So
we
can
distribute
this
personally
to
persons
right.
M
And
then
there'll
also
be
on-site
registration,
so
we'll
have
a
registration
table
where
people
come
in
and
check
in.
You
know,
because
we
realize
that
everybody
is
not
I.t
friendly.
So
there
is
an
opportunity
for
them
to
walk
up
to
the
table
in
terms
of
distribution,
local
distribution.
M
We
can
push
out
whatever
you
all
need
and
then
you
guys
can
disseminate.
However,
you,
like
the
more
the
you
know,
the
more
the
merrier.
A
This
is
not
like
a
one
and
one
shot,
but
for
the
people
that
are
in
this
process
like
they
need
to
know
what
resources
that
are
out
there
beyond
just
the
grant-
and
I
know
that
you'll
be
there
to
help
to
answer
any
questions.
What
we've
found
and
then
I
want
to
be
mindful,
mr
daniels
and
I
want
to
make
sure
that
you're
ready
to
go,
and
also,
mr
howard,
that
you
all
are
ready
to
come
up
next.
N
To
your
point
chair,
I
think
that's
a
really
good
point,
and
so
one
of
the
reasons
why
we
wanted
to
wait
until
we
met
with
you
all
to
start
marketing.
The
event
is
because
it
does
fill
up
fast,
as
I.
E
N
So
we
definitely
want
to
utilize
your
market
and
your
marketing
tools
optimally
before.
I
O
O
B
A
I
think
just
setting
that
expectation
around
covet
protocols,
whether
it
must
be
vaccinated,
I
mean
we've
seen
it-
must
wear
masks
just
to
make
sure
something
is
going
out
along
the
regarding
that
and,
finally,
I
think
you
hit
the
thing
just
to
make
sure
that
everybody's
being
safe,
so
you
don't
have
a
bunch
of
large
people,
a
bunch
of
people
coming
from
outside
the
community.
You
have
to
turn
away.
Thank
you
all
so
much
for
pulling
this
down.
Thank
you
very
much
simmons
for
pulling
this
together.
P
Flew
all
the
way
from
new
york-
I
don't
like
being
in
the
hawk,
but
it's
okay
for
this
purpose.
Let
me
speak
quickly
to
say
that
we
appreciate
this
opportunity.
We
are
here
ashley
myself
and
cam
howard,
who
will
be
speaking
after
me,
we're
doing
a
little
rotating
here
to
applaud
the
committee,
the
chairman
and
the
staff
for
this
continued
work
to
make
you
for
making
it
possible
chairman
blaithwaite
for
your
study.
Leadership
can
y'all,
hear
me.
Yes,
yes,.
P
Your
study
leadership,
which
has
been
crucial
to
the
process
of
moving
this
historic
initiative
forward
and
to
the
staff,
the
staff
that
has
been
indispensable
to
operationalizing
the
process
kudos
to
our
deputy
city
manager,
kimberly
richardson,
tashiki,
kier
and
the
city
count
the
nick
cummings,
the
council
attorney
because
you've
taken
ownership.
P
It's
one
thing
for
an
idea
to
be
out
there.
It's
another
thing
to
actually
operationalize
it.
So
it's
really
the
staff
that
gets
in
there
and
does-
and
I've
been
here
listening
attentively
to
the
work
that
you
do
to
really
make
it
happen.
That
takes
dedication,
and
we
certainly
are
here
to
applaud
that.
P
P
We
also
want
to
apply
all
the
elbows
of
eligible
residents
who
are
lining
up.
I
guess
a
thousand
would
be
good,
but
I'm
impressed
that
there's
so
many
who
have
already
lined
up.
That
means
the
word
is
getting
out.
People
are
lining
up
and
it's
important,
because
these
are
the
first
recipients
of
reparatory
justice
awards
for
it
for
injuries
that
have
been
suffered
over
decades
here
in
evanston,
just
listening
to
the
realtors
talking
about
that
era
and
what
you
couldn't
even
be
called
a
realtor
right
here
up
south,
not
down
south
up
south.
P
It's
certain
that
that's
important
and
so
again
evanston
you
need
to
know
the
world
is
watching.
Reparations
is
real
in
evanston.
I
know
some
people
say
it's
small,
it's
not
it's
real,
it
may
be
small,
but
it's
real,
and
what
is
it?
It's
real,
so
knock,
knock
knock
is
proud
to
stand
with
you
in
this
milestone
and
evolving
achievement.
So
now
I'm
going
to
turn
it
over
to
cam
howard.
P
H
H
So
you
are
originators
and
everyone's
watching
and
there
will
be
mistakes
made.
There
will
be
delays.
Those
type
of
things
will
happen
because
this
is
the
first.
This
is
an
original
word,
but
it
is
your
task
to
deliver
repair
to
the
people
of
madison,
the
black
people
of
edison.
Are
you
doing
that?
Dr
daniels
talked
about
the
staff
we
you
wouldn't
be
here
today?
H
H
Certainly,
what
kimberly
and
tashik
has
done
is
the
reason
we're
here
and
we're
about
to
deliver
repair
to
the
people
in
the
leadership
reparations
we've
been
fighting
for
reparations
in
this
country.
Since
the
day
we've
been
here
when
we
got
off
the
boat
in
1619,
there
was
a
a
struggle
to
repair
ourselves
of
our
humanity.
Our
freedom
in
in
cobra
we've
been
working
for
34
years,
narc,
seven
years,
evanston
two
years
to
deliver
repair.
H
What
is
key
to
all
of
us,
our
efforts.
It
takes
bold
and
courageous
leadership
people
to
community
in
order
to
get
here
going
forward.
I
mean
and
admonishing
you
to
not
be
conservative.
Continue.
Your
bold
moves
continue
your
courageous
stand
because
there's
going
to
be
more
pushback,
the
closer
we
get,
the
closer
you
get
to
actually
delivering
that
repair.
H
That
pushback
is
going
to
come
and
you're
going
to
have
to
toughen
up.
I
know
everybody
here
is
already
tough,
but
it's
going
to
require
more
toughness
and
again,
as
dr
daniel
said,
the
whole
world
is
watching.
We
are
with
you.
Narc
is
with
you
we'll
be
able
to
supply
national
experts
as
we
did
land
the
foundation
here
in
your
housing
initiative.
We
brought
in
mark
austin
brought
in
that
initial
data
that
got
us
to
this.
Got
you
to
this
point
we'll
be
able
to
do
that
as
you
move
forward
other
proposals.
H
Once
you
move
forward
to
your
next
initiatives,
we
will
be
able
to
bring
those
type
of
models
to
evanston,
so
you
won't
be
starting
from
scratch
on
other
things,
as
you
started
from
scratching
or
paving
the
way
on
housing
in
america.
So
that's
what
nara
can
bring
and
we're
here
with
you
100
percent,
all
the
way.
P
E
P
It
will
be
entitled
the
evans
evanston's
reparation
initiative,
a
model
for
reparations.
It
will
be
hosted
by
repair
first
first
repair.
I
always
get
it
back.
It
will
be
hosted
by
robin
robin
ruth
simmons,
we're
going
to
be
bringing
people
from
all
over
the
country,
because
what's
happening
is
because
you
have
done
what
you
have
done
here.
P
Believe
me,
there
is
not
a
day
that
there's
a
press
release
or
some
initiative
that
is
being
started,
and
most
of
them
refer
to
where
evanston
evanston
evanston.
So
what
we
are
going
to
do.
We
can't
bring
everybody,
but
we're
going
to
bring
at
least
40
to
50
groups
from
all
across
the
country,
and
some
from
around
the
world
caracon
will
be
represented.
A
you
will
be
represented
right
here
to
evanston
so
that
they
can
share
and
what
you've
done,
but
also
so
people
can
learn.
P
You
can
learn
from
what
people
are
doing
all
around
the
country.
Now,
obviously,
everybody
can't
put
in
the
same
room
but
we'll
have
a
huge
town
hall
meeting
like
we
remember
the
town
hall
meeting.
We
have
we're
going
to
have
another
town
hall
meeting
as
well,
so
we
wanted
to
make
that
announcement
here
first
today
december
9th
through
the
11th
right
here
in
evanston,
all
roads
lead
to
the
mountaintop
for
where
it
began
right
here.
Thank
you
very
much.
Thank
you.
A
A
O
Cam
howard,
the
radio
on
monday
on
wbon.
I
think
you
need
to
share
you're
going
to
be
at
the
press
conference
with
congressman
davis
november
16th
to
the
18th.
So
can
you
tell
us
a
little
bit
about
that
sure.
H
Thank
you
question
in
cobra
commissioned
the
kennedy
cragger
institute,
which
is
a
research
center
out
of
john
hopkins
university.
We
commissioned
him
to
do
a
report
on
the
historical
trauma
that
we
face
in
this
society
over
400
years
and
how
that
historical
trauma
leads
to
transgenerational
transmission
of
trauma
and
transgeneration
of
a
genetic
inheritance.
That
means
that
the
trauma
that
our
ancestors
experienced
during
enslavement
has
been
passed
down.
Genetically
that
causes
us
to
age
earlier
causes
our
immune
systems
to
not
act
as
well
as
others.
H
H
It
has
affected
us
and
it's
going
to
continue
to
affect
us
unless
we
actually
look
at
those
things
that
can
help
mitigate
that
from
being
passed
down,
generationally
continually
be
passed
down,
so
we're
having
a
press
conference
to
release
that
report
in
d.c
on
the
16th
congressman
davis,
congressman
sheila
jackson.
Lee
will
be
there.
H
People
for
some
professors
from
howard
university,
the
the
author
of
the
port
report,
dr
john
kaufman,
will
be
there
and
then
on
two
days
later
on
the
18th,
we're
going
to
have
the
same
press
conference
released
here
in
chicago
at
city
hall
at
11
a.m.
The
author
will
be
there
state
senator
maddie
hunter
state
representative,
lashon
ford,
the
the
state
of
illinois
just
passed
a
house
bill
158
that
deals
with
health
disparities
and
so
we'll
be
able
to
have
that
report
as
a
foundation
to
what's
going
forward
in
the
state.
H
So
it's
a
very
important
piece
of
research,
that's
being
delivered
to
our
community
that
we
can
use
going
forward.
A
A
I'll
call
you
the
good
doctor,
then
so
to
both
of
you
distinguished
gentlemen.
What
we'd
love
to
be
able
to
do
is,
like
anything,
that's
tied
into
the
work
that
you're
doing
that's
whether
it's
hosted
here
in
evanston
or
there's
a
tie
we'd
like
to
try
to
create
a
section
on
our
website,
because
what
I'm
finding
just
and
I'm
sure
everyone
else
would
agree
anytime.
I
have
a
conversation
with
someone.
A
We
want
to
be
able
to
to
promote
as
well
as
let
people
know
that
they're
there,
I
think,
what's
critical
is
just
how
to
get
the
information,
how
to
sign
up
whether
it's
a
zoom
link,
if
they're,
with
base
we're
still
in
covid,
whatever
those
protocols
are
whatever
those
limits
to
the
room.
Those
are
the
things
that
we
would
need
and
then
you're
already
connected
to
our
staff,
so
we'd
love
to
get
that
up
as
quickly
as
possible.
Thank.
H
You
thank
you
very
much,
wonderful
website
that
you
have
and
I'll
be
in
touch
with
you.
A
Perfect,
all
right
brothers,
all
right,
seeing
no
additional
information
before
us.
I
want
to
thank
you
all
for
the
committee
members
for
all
your
hard
work.
I
want
to
acknowledge
our
staff.
Our
deputy
city
manager,
kimberly
richardson,
our
assistant
attorney
michelle
ozambo
did
I
say
that
correctly,
jose
repo
and
then
also
tashiker,
seeing
no
other
information
from
this
meeting
stands
adjourned.
Thank
you
all
very
much.
