Description
Hollister Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting January 26, 2021
A
B
B
D
C
B
Okay,
absolutely
looking
at
the
wrong
thing
so
hold
on
everyone.
Okay,
so
I
need
a
motion
to
approve
the
minutes
from
tuesday
october
27
2020.
They
were
sent
out
to
us
if
you,
if
someone's
anyone's
reviewed
them.
C
B
C
B
Now
there's
no
public
comment
because
I
don't
see
anybody
correct.
A
E
Can
hear
you
oh
good?
Thank
you
thank
you
for
having
me
for
letting
me
know.
Congratulations
to
the
new
commissioner.
I
believe
I
saw
a
friend
a
new
friendly
face.
I
went
over
the
agenda
for
october
and
I
saw
that
there
was
a
report
about
the
apricot
trail
and
there
was
nothing
written
in
the
agenda
or
the
report
about
what
was
said
about
that,
and
so
I
would
ask
that.
Can
you
tell
me
when
it's
opening
how
much,
how
much
longer
or
is
it?
E
Oh,
maybe
it
is
open
and
I
don't
know
I
think,
let's
see
since
I
have
your
ear
and
I
have
what
two
minutes.
I
would
also
ask
that
perhaps
the
parks
commission
begin
to
advocate
for
park
hill.
You
know,
we've
had
a
number
of
fires
up
here
this
last
summer
and
now
the
buildings
are
starting
to
burn
and
it
would
be
a
really
great
thing
if
that
city
property
could
become
park
property,
and
then
we
could
do
something
grand
with
it.
E
Anyhow,
that's
my
that's
my
public
comment
for
this
meeting
and
I
hope
to
see
you
all
in
person
soon.
B
Okay,
so
now
moving
on
to
old
business.
B
We've
got
clower
park,
we
have
an
update
for
clara
park.
F
Yes,
good
evening,
my
name
is
henry
gonzalez.
I'm
interim
public
works
director,
I'm
here
to
talk
about
clara
park.
We
have
received
the
ada
equipment
for
a
car
park.
It's
sitting
at
our.
F
Okay,
we
have
received
the
equipment
for
the
ada
or
the
ada
equipment.
For
that
part,
we
have
not
had
time
to
install
it
yet
we're
working
on
other
pro
programs
right
now
we're
looking
possibly
45
more
days
before
we
start
that
project.
F
Dun
park,
we're
going
to
be
looking
at
that
here
very
soon
to
see
where
we
can
install
those
pickleball
courts
without
interrupting
or
removing
any
of
the
existing
tennis
courts.
So
that's
that's
what
we're
looking
at
at
don
park
currently.
B
B
B
F
So
on
the
splash
pad
at
valley
view
park,
we
are
removing
the
fiberglass
enclosure
for
that
unit
and
we
are
installing
a
prefab
building,
much
like
the
restroom
that
we
did
last
year
at
that
park.
B
Okay,
so
I
guess
let's
go
back
to
does
anybody
have
any
questions
about
the
updates
on
the
parks.
A
B
Now,
on
to
number
three,
which
is
update
to
the
grounds
for
prop
68.
C
Yes,
two
years
ago,
the
city
applied
for
a
prop
68
grant
to
redevelop
the
leatherback
property
and
fire
station
2.
and
unfortunately,
we
were
not
granted
any
type
of
funding
for
the
areas,
but
we
were
given
another
chance
to
reapply
and
so
currently
we're
working
on
that,
and
there
are
a
few
upgrades
that
we
did
at
leatherback
to
include
they're
different,
some
different
amenities
and
we're
working
with
wallace
group.
So
once
that
design
concept
is
completed,
I
can
forward
it
to
you
guys
and
you
guys
can
review
it.
C
We
did
add
lighting
around
the
park
and
we'll.
I
would
also
like
to
include
security
cameras
at
leatherback
and
then
at
fire
station
2.
We
kept
the
design
the
same.
I
don't
know
if
you
guys
recall
the
design
that
we
we
brought
to
your
brought
to
you
two
years
ago,
but
we
included
a
dog
park
now
at
the
fire
station
too,
with
lighting
and
fencing
that's
going
to
go
around
the
park
again.
C
This
is
just
a
grant,
we're
applying
for
and
it's
not
a
guarantee,
but
we
are
making
attempts
to
try
to
work
with
the
current
to
work
with
the
state
and
the
public
officer
to
make
sure
that
what
we're
applying
for
fits
their
criteria
and
also
fits
what
our
community
needs
are
and
staff
has,
as
works
closely
with
with
a
person
from
the
state,
so
we'll
be
submitting
that
grant.
In
march.
B
B
Tina,
I
can't
remember
we
have
somebody
that
is
a
grant
writer
I
mean.
Do
we
have
somebody,
that's
well
versed
in
this
area.
C
Well,
I
don't
consider
myself
well-versed,
but
I
am
the
one
that's
applying
for
the
grant
this
the
language
is
similar
to
where
to
when
mary
was
with
us.
When
mary
paxton
was
with
us
very
very
similar.
We
changed
some
things
per
the
request
of
the
the
officer
that
asked
us
to
to
kind
of
elaborate
on
some
of
the
things
and
what
what
we
wanted.
For
instance,
we
put
a
multi-purpose
room,
but
what
will
we
do
with
that
multi-purpose
room?
C
So
we
had
to
expand
on
some
of
that
language,
and
then
there
were
areas
that
they
considered,
maybe
not
appropriate
for
the
grant
like
a
recreation
office,
so
city
manager
miller,
I
spoke
with
him
and
and
we'll
if
we're
granted.
C
If
we
receive
the
grant,
then
we
will
use
some
of
our
park
impact
fees
for
a
recreation
office
over
there
and
everything
else
they
liked.
They
liked
that
we
added
the
roller
rink
outside
play
for
the
kids
courts
lighting
and
they
were
unsure
about
the
gym.
Normally
they
don't
they
don't
kind
of
give
grant
money
for
for
that,
it's
usually
outdoor
space,
but
I
explained
that
there
was
a
need
in
our
community
and
as
long
as
we
explain
that
need
then
they
then
they'll.
Definitely
it
will
definitely
be
considered.
B
A
C
So
cupid
express
is
an
event
that
recreation
had
offered
years
ago.
I
would
say
12
years
ago,
we
offered
it
and
it
was
a
balloon
delivery
to
businesses
and
to
the
schools,
local
schools
for
valentine's
day,
and
this
year
we
decided
to
bring
it
back
one
due
to
covid
just
because
we're
not
able
to
interact
with
people,
we
can
just
drop
off
the
balloons
in
front
of
their
doorstep,
but
the
main
reason
was:
last
year
we
had
lost
our
community
service
director,
clay,
lee
and
cupid
express
was
one
of
his
favorite
events.
C
He
was
a
cupid
and
he
delivered
balloons,
so
we're
just
bringing
it
back
in
honor
of
him
and
we're
getting
some
good
replies.
Registration
is
is
very
strong
right
now,
so
I'm
bringing
it
to
you
guys.
C
You
guys
helped
us
out,
did
a
great
job
with
treat
streets
so
we're
seeing,
if
you
guys
would
also
be
are
the
commissioners
would
also
be
interested
in
helping
us
either
be
a
cupid
if
you
want
to
dress
up
or
help
with
making
the
balloon,
bouquets
and
kind
of
the
day
of
the
event
supporting
us
in
that
way.
C
So
if
you
guys
are
interested,
please
send
me
a
quick
email.
We
are
delivering
on
saturday
february,
13th
delivery.
The
first
morning
delivery
is
gonna,
start
at
nine
nine
to
twelve
and
then
the
afternoon
delivery
will
be
one
to
four.
B
C
It
is,
it
was
a
fun
event.
We
actually
have
some
old
staff
that
has
reached
out
to
us
and
would
like
to
be
cupid's,
because
that's
what
they
you
know
what
they
did
for
us
12
years
ago,
so
they're
volunteering
their
time
now.
C
D
C
Thank
you
for
bringing
that
up,
chair
graziano,
yes,
definitely
an
opportunity
to
sponsor
purchasing
of
the
balloons.
You
know
it's
costly,
we
do
have
a
marriage.
Who's
has
will
donate
our
candy
bags
to
us,
so
we
we're
working
with
them
and
then
yes,
we
are
reaching
out
to
other
other
sponsors
and
I'll
email.
You
guys
the
flyer
just
so
that
you're
aware
of
the
event
and
if
you
would
know
of
any
company
that
is
interested
in
interested
in
sponsoring.
B
Okay,
all
right,
nice.
Okay,
now
it's
time
for
commissioner
comments.
Does
anybody
have
anything
they'd
like
to
discuss
or
questions?
B
B
Okay
and
everybody's
kind
of
fuzzy.
On
your
end,
I
could
see
everybody
on
the
zoom
call,
but
you
guys
you
two
are
fuzzy,
so
I'm
like
I
was
squinting.
Okay.
Does
anybody
have
any
questions
or
comments.
G
I
do
this
is
grisel.
I
have
a
question
I
know.
Last
meeting
we
talked
about
the
ada
upgrades
to
one
of
the
parks.
I
know
that
I
believe
it.
I
believe
we
talked
about
last
meeting
that
that
was
going
to
be
a
plan
for
all
of
the
parks.
Eventually,
is
that
still
am
I
correct
on
that.
D
A
Yeah,
as
we
start
working
for
our
capital
improvement
projects
for
the
upcoming
budget
year,
we
will
look
at
that
process.
I
know
we've
got
me
personally
have
kind
of
looked
at
for
dunn
park
and
but
we
will
start
getting
a
plan
together
for
all
the
parks.
G
For
all
the
parts,
okay
and
then
with
when
you
guys
have
that
update,
or
will
you
also
let
us
know
kind
of
how
you
prioritize,
which
parks
are
going
to
be.
You
know
next
and
prioritized.
D
Okay,
thank
you.
I
have
a
question
also,
the
has
is:
are
all
the
parks
now
open
and
is
all
the
equipment
unfit
on
fenced
on.
A
Yeah
correct
everything
is
now
open
for
use
and
we
just
ask
that
parents
be
careful
and
monitor
their
their
little
ones
and
and
to
bring
use
the
hand
sanitizers
that
that's
out
there,
some
of
the
smaller
parts
don't
have
all
that,
but
they
should
be
bringing
their
own
sanitation
with
them.
C
Yes,
this
is
supervisor
garza
just
to
let
you
guys
know.
In
december,
recreation
staff
stayed
pretty
busy
with
pictures
with
santa.
Usually
we
offer
our
annual
breakfast
with
santa,
but
due
to
our
situation,
and
we
decided
to
do
pictures
and
we
set
up
the
vets
building
outdoors
and
a
lot
of
positive
feedback.
They,
like
the
transition
going
from
the
beginning
to
waiting
to
see
santan
mrs
claus
and
then
at
the
end
they
all
received.
C
Are
the
youth
received
a
goody
bag
filled
with
different
types
of
trinkets
that
was
donated
by
the
community,
and
it
was
a
great
event
that
everyone
was
very
thankful
that
we
continued
and
tried
to
offer
something
and
then,
in
addition
to
pictures
with
santa,
we
also
had
a
giving
tree
and
we
worked
closely
with
the
home
resource
center.
It's
also
known
as
the
homeless
shelter.
C
We
worked
with
the
mayas
amaz
house
and
then
the
youth
alliance,
working
with
the
18
to
24
year
old
families
that
were
homeless
and
we
were
able
to
give
out
over
200
presents.
So
that
was
a
great
adventure
for
us.
The
first
year
that
we
offered
giving
tree.
We
had
a
lot
of
community
support
and
sponsorship
support,
so
we
were
able
to
we
didn't
purchase
like
the
gifts
which
we
thought
we
might
have,
but
we
were
able
to
do
extra.
C
Besides
that
we
are,
we
offered
some
winter
camps
for
little
cohorts
for
children
and
those
have
all
filled
up
and
running
really
well,
and
then
this
past.
In
january,
we
offered
what
we
call
after
school
wreck
and
rec
is
recreation
enrichment
camp
and
it's
working
for
with
some
of
the
children
that
that
need
extra
help
for
distance
learning
activities
that
we
kind
of
exercise
activities
we
work
with
them
and
then
just
social
and
emotional
skills.
B
Very
nice,
so
nex's
park
division
review
is
oh
you
just
did
that.
Am
I
right.
C
Yes,
he
gave
his,
mr
gonzalez
gave
his
report
during
the
old
business
kind
of
combined
them
all
yeah.
B
And
I
volunteered
for
the
lights
on
that
was
fun
too,
that
it
was
freezing,
but
it
was
fun
great.
D
C
C
If,
if
there's,
if
something
does
come
up,
could
you
just
email
me
and
then
I
can
add
it
because
right
now,
the
the
near
future,
I
don't,
I
don't
foresee
any
type
of
new
business
parks
is
on
there
information.
So
if
you
guys
have
anything
you'd
like
me
to
add,
we
oh
I'll,
go
back
to
the
the
river
trail
and
we'll
give
another
update
on
on
the
river
trail.
B
I'm
writing
notes
too
all
right
so
now,
meeting
on
tuesday
february
23rd
2021
is
everybody
agreeable
with
that
yep.
B
I
know
seems
good
today
all
right,
then
it
is
6
54..
Do
I
have
a
motion
to
adjourn.
